Weekend Warriors is thrilled to unveil Angkor Music in Altona, VIC, as its latest Host Store. Building on its Australia-wide success, the partnership aims to offer Victorians an unparalleled musical journey, regardless of their age or prior experience.
From lawyers and therapists to tradespeople and stay-at-home parents, Weekend Warriors breaks down age barriers to reignite the thrill of live band performances. Catering to a broad spectrum of musical genres—from Rock and Blues to Funk and Rock ‘n’ Roll—the program offers a unique chance for “lapsed musicians” to relive their ‘garage gig’ days.
How Weekend Warriors Works
The 7-week Weekend Warriors program propels participants—referred to as ‘Warriors’—from initial rehearsals to a climactic live concert. Under the guidance of esteemed coaches who are handpicked for their expertise, individual approach, and exceptional communication skill, Warriors are placed in musically compatible bands. Angkor Music, our newest Host Store in Victoria, furnishes a state-of-the-art rehearsal space and all essential gear, culminating in a live final performance dubbed “The Big Gig.”

NEW VICTORIAN COACH
Weekend Warriors is also excited to announce esteemed musician Steve Williams as the new coach for its Victoria program, proudly supported by our newest host store, Angkor Music. This strategic collaboration elevates the program’s reputation for high-caliber coaching and mentorship.
With an illustrious career spanning decades, Steve Williams has been a driving force in bands like Wa Wa Nee, Choirboys, Matt Finish, and performed with legends such as Jon Lord from Deep Purple and Ray Parker Jr. Beyond the stage, Steve’s work has been featured on popular TV shows like Countdown, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, and international hits like Top Of The Pops. He also brings experience from the realm of musical theatre, having worked on shows like Man From Snowy River and Rocky Horror Show.
