YAMAHA LAUNCHES NEW TRUE WIRELESS EARBUDS

Yamaha is excited to launch their new TW-E5B true wireless earbuds. With their stylish design, the TW-E5B boast an array of features presenting them as a highly versatile earbud ideal for the modern user. This new addition to the lineup of wireless headphones adopts Yamaha’s TRUE SOUND ethos, delivering clear and very real vocal and musical instrument sound, bringing listeners closer to the artist, which only a brand like Yamaha with over 130 years history of Musical Instruments can achieve. The advanced mic design delivers crystal-clear calls, ideal for remote working situations, while the ambient sound function and gaming mode deliver a versatility for any situation. Yamaha’s unique Listening Care technology provides intelligent equalization at any volume to support a safe music listening. By releasing the TW-E5B on World Hearing Day (March 3), Yamaha hopes that it will inspire many users to think about a superior music listening experience with TRUE SOUND and long-term health of their hearing.

TRUE SOUND
As the world leader in musical instruments, sound production and audio products, Yamaha knows music unlike any other company in the world and brings you closer to the artist. Yamaha’s TRUE SOUND philosophy makes it possible to convey the sound and thoughts of the artist as they were intended.

ACOUSTIC DESIGN THAT DELIVERS TRUE SOUND
Yamaha’s engineers focus all elements of the acoustic design to deliver TRUE SOUND. The 7mm driver unit and nozzle are placed on the same axis as the sound conduit, eliminating obstacles from the sound conduit to the sound exit as much as possible.
By driving the diaphragm quickly and accurately in response to the input signal, a clear high frequency range can be reproduced. With the internal design of the earbuds, Yamaha has achieved a structure with few protrusions to prevent interference from unnecessary noise and echoes. Additionally, a hole is provided on the rear side of the earbuds to control the back pressure generated from the driver. This maximizes the use of air inside the earbuds and leads to the reproduction of a rich low range with a three-dimensional feel.

SUPERIOR FIT FOR TRUE SOUND
The housing design has an “edge” to fit the ear canal for greater comfort. The size of the auricular cavity varies widely from person to person. The oval shape of the earbuds allows the user to rotate the earbuds to fit in any position when worn. Four sizes of ear-tips are provided, which can be replaced according to the size of the user’s left and right earholes. These three features ensure a comfortable seal, allowing users to enjoy a wide range of sound frequencies, from low to high, for an extended period of time.

LOVE MUSIC, FOR A LIFETIME
Throughout its history, Yamaha has aspired to enrich the hearts and lives of people with sound and music. A fundamental promise of TRUE SOUND is not just delivering this today but allowing future generations to experience TRUE SOUND from Yamaha. However recent news from the World Health Organization (WHO) has challenged this goal. According to a report published in 2019*2, the WHO estimates more than one billion young people are at risk of developing avoidable, permanent hearing loss due to unsafe listening practices. The long-term impacts may be especially compounded by daily wear of earbuds and headphones at high volume levels. “As a full line musical instrument manufacturer, Yamaha has a connection with a wide range of customers, from music creators to music listeners. It can be one of our social responsibilities to ensure our customers can enjoy music for many years to come,” said Yoshi Tsugawa, Senior General

Manager, Home Audio Division, Yamaha Corporation. “Listening Care is one of the unique features which allows TRUE SOUND listening experience for a lifetime without losing any musical expression in any volume level,” explained Tsugawa. He also added that “we launched the TW-E5B on World Hearing Day*2 to encourage customers to think about a high-quality listening experience and their hearing health. By using our products and letting our customers know about this global activity via a new website we have launched *3, we hope that many music lovers will think about their long-term hearing health.”.

LISTENING CARE
Due to the nature of our hearing, when listening to music at low volumes, we often feel there is a lack of high and low frequencies. In order to hear these hard-to-hear sounds, we often turn up the volume excessively. Listening at excessive volume for extended periods can be damaging to our ears and increase the risk of hearing loss. In order to prevent excessive volume, Yamaha Listening Care balances the difficult-to-hear high and low frequencies so that the original balance of the music is maintained. This allows you to enjoy your music even at a lower volume without having to turn up the volume excessively.

CLEARLY BETTER VOICE CALLS
For voice calls, the TW-E5B feature Qualcomm® cVc™ (Clear Voice Capture) technology. The high-performance MEMS microphones in both earbuds are dedicated to calls, separating the incoming voice from other noises during sound capture.
Silicone is used for the sound conduit wire that connects the microphone hole in the earphone housing to the call circuit board. By sealing the sound conduit, it prevents unnecessary resonance and sound loss before it reaches the circuit.
These two mechanisms make it possible to deliver voice more clearly to the person on the other end of a call or meeting.
