YOU’RE INVITED TO A LIVE MUSIC IN REGIONAL AUSTRALIA SESSION

The Regional Music Research Group is kicking off its 2022 seminar series with a zoom session on live music in regional areas on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 at 6pm AEDT.

Topics to be discussed include:
• How is regional live music different to an urban one?
• What infrastructures and audiences does it have?
• How does live music contribute to regional communities and regional growth?
• What are the development issues and opportunities for regional live music?
• How have the COVID-19 pandemic and current floods in some regions changed live music?

There are some excellent panellists including:
• Nigel Bird from WAM
• Sarah de Borre from Music Victoria
• Rosa Coyle-Hayward from the Regional Victorian Live Music Census
• John Wardle from the Live Music Office

These seminars are for regional music stakeholders, such as musicians, music venues and event organisers, arts organisations, regional community workers, teachers and researchers; equally, for regional councils, regional development and arts policies stakeholders. RMRG aims to create a platform where regional music is discussed as a contributing part of regional communities and economies.
