The NGV Gala offers guests an opportunity to experience the NGV as-never-before with visually stunning installations, experiential zones, performance spaces, fine wine and a specially designed food menu. The event will include a headline performance, which in previous years has included showstopping sets from Troye Sivan, Baker Boy featuring G Flip, Salt-N-Pepa and Kimbra and a star-studded guest list including Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Winnie Harlow, Poppy Delevingne and Shalom Harlow.

‘The NGV Gala is a late-night celebration of Melbourne’s world-renowned art, design, fashion, music and food scenes – and is truly the synthesis of everything that makes Melbourne the cultural capital of Australia, said Tony Ellwood AM, Director, NGV and co-chair of the NGV Gala. “This year, the event coincides with the NGVTriennial, offering an exclusive first-look at boundary-pushing, world-premiere works by global art and design superstars, the NGV Gala in 2023 will be a bold celebration of human creativity.’

The inaugural NGV Gala in 2017, held to coincide with the Australian-exclusive exhibition The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture, built upon the NGV’s rich legacy as a destination for art, design and fashion. In 2022, the sold-out NGV Gala celebrated the opening of the summer blockbuster exhibition Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse and offered guests first access to this Australian-exclusive presentation in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

On Thursday 31 August, NGV Gala pre-sale tickets will be available to NGV subscribers. For first access to tickets, sign up to the NGV eNews here:
