On Friday August 13, 2021 Sydney’s dynamic duo Polish Club deliver their brand new album Now We’re Cookin’. Sifting through a combination of around 90 song notes, vague ideas and the odd complete composition, Novak and JH whittled away until they arrived at ten brilliantly constructed pop rock tunes. From the rockin’ ear worm opener Stop For A Minute, to the disco-seasoned New Age, boppin’ Getaway and the obligatory beautiful ballad No Heaven, there’s some pure gold in them thar hills. Just Talking swings like a stallion, Baby We’re Burning sends your mind adrift, Fix Your Heart will have you dancing like nobody’s watching and Whack is just that! Might I suggest it’s their best work yet!
Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips zoomed up Polish Club’s Novak and JH to talk about their new album but it soon turned into a fun, deep, existential discussion on the merit of the majority of content on line. Eventually we got to discuss the creation of their new album Now We’re Cookin’.
