Melbourne’s beloved The Peep Tempel are set to return to the stage for the first time since 2017 with an exciting string of live shows in 2025. Marking the 10th anniversary of their critically acclaimed second album Tales, the band will perform across Australia, including:
- Fremantle – Buffalo Club – Saturday 22 March and Sunday 23 March
- Sydney – Factory Theatre – Saturday 29 March
- Melbourne – Corner Hotel – Friday 4 April and Saturday 5 April
Having already thrilled fans with a surprise set at this year’s OK Motels festival, these performances promise to reignite The Peep Tempel’s legendary live energy, as they celebrate a defining moment in their career. Tales will be reissued on vinyl by Wing Sing Records on Thursday, October 3, allowing both long-time fans and newcomers to experience the album in its original form once again.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Blake Scott reflected on the upcoming tour:
Tales is a particularly special record for us. We weren’t sure we’d make another one at the time, Definitely had the 2nd album blues for a time. I remember we came up with Big Fish and Carol in an arvo, which got us rolling. This album and of course, Carol, changed everything for us and it’s nice to tip our hats to it and get together and play some shows.
On the decision to reissue Tales, Scott added:
It’s overdue. Tales has been out of press for a while. People all over the world are still discovering this record so we’d like to make it available to them to enjoy as a tangible object as opposed to a stream. Tim Molloy’s artwork is incredible. It’s a good album and now you can get it in pink, which is the colour of unconditional love, friendship and conviviality, which is what we all need. Especially the characters on this record.
Joining The Peep Tempel on all dates will be Perth proto-pub rockers Last Quokka. It’ll be five nights from the top end of town.
