CLINT WILSON SHARES CHARMING NEW SINGLE WHEN I FIND SOMEBODY NEW
A sublime lesson in nostalgia, relatability and storytelling, the brand new single When I Find Somebody New out today from Australian singer-songwriter Clint Wilson ruminates with folk and alt-country charm.
Spinning a short but sweet spell, and loaded with vintage pop finesse, When I Find Somebody New saw Wilson curate a modern take on The Beatles while dovetailing a real-world experience into an upbeat yet vulnerable end result. “Some friends of mine went through a messy divorce and it got me thinking about when you find a new partner, how long can you hide all of your bad traits from them?” shares Clint. “For some reason I have a vision of a cat in my head, strutting around the neighbourhood, searching for someone it thinks will treat them better.”
Engineered by Damian Cafarella and produced by Kevin Bennett at Clint’s studio Ziggy Tone in Melbourne, When I Find Somebody New once again showcases Clint’s renowned ability to conjure nostalgic suburban alt-country authenticity akin to fellow Aussie greats like Paul Kelly, You Am I and The Go-Betweens. When I Find Somebody New also offers fans yet another insight into Clint’s, as yet unannounced, new album due for release later this year, with the new record also set to feature his whole band, consisting of family members and friends, both old and new.
Capable of building an instant connection with listeners and audiences, Clint Wilson’s innate ability to transform life’s small moments into immersive and cathartic worlds within his music has led to comparisons to the likes of Paul Kelly and Crowded House since he first emerged onto the scene back in 2017. Growing up surrounded by seminal songwriters like Johnny Cash, Paul Kelly, Patsy Cline and Slim Dusty, Clint’s early days learning guitar and piano also helped to pave the way to becoming a singer-songwriter oozing with authenticity. But it wouldn’t be until adulthood that Clint would pursue songwriting, going on to release three studio albums to date, as well as collaborate with the likes of Billie Jo-Porter and Gretta Ziller.
Via his most recent studio album, 2023’s L.A., Clint paid homage to the city where he ultimately recorded the 9-track LP while teaming up with the Grammy-nominated producer Callum Barter (Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile) and Paul Bushnell in Barter’s home studio, which Clint helped rebuild. Returning down under six months later with his Australian band in tow, Clint’s open-veined lyricism and alt country flair ultimately culminated in an album laden with honesty and sincerity, while also cementing Clint’s reputation as one of the truly great modern Australian singer-songwriters.
Whether onstage at Tamworth Country Music Festival or supporting the likes of Kevin Bennett and The Flood and Andrew Swift, Clint is a true performer at heart and has wowed audiences across Australia. International touring is also firmly in his sights as he looks beyond the upcoming release of a brand new studio album later this year. Clint has recorded his (as yet unannounced) fourth album in a studio he built himself. When I Find Somebody New is a charming single that will undoubtedly also enamour in a live setting.

KYLE HOLLINGSWORTH (THE STRING CHEESE INCIDENT) NEW SONG “WAITING ON TIME” IS OUT NOW. FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN 7 YEARS ALL WE ARE, OUT THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 1, 2025
Kyle Hollingsworth has released “Waiting on Time,” the final sampling of his new album All We Are, out this Friday, August 1, 2025. “This was an organ based tune,” Hollingsworth says. “I was thinking about Greg Allman when I was writing it. Some of the imagery came from that style. The lyrics speak of the struggle with addiction and staying on track. Falling down and getting back up again.”
All We Are marks a bold new chapter in a career defined by creative risk-taking. With more than 20 years of solo work, seven solo albums, and over three decades with The String Cheese Incident, Hollingsworth continues to push boundaries, delivering a sound that’s fresh, unexpected, and uniquely his own.
“Waiting on Time” follows the release of two earlier singles: “Colorado” and “All We Are.”
“Colorado” is a song that was inspired by mountain living. “All the images come from above 9,000 feet,” reflects Hollingsworth. “From the fall colors to the sparkling snow and spring flowers, these mountains fill my spirit.”
“All We Are,” the title track to the album, is a shimmering, alt-rock-leaning single that trades extended solos for song-focused structure and lyrical introspection, yet remains undeniably funky in true Kyle fashion. Pre-save the new album now.
Alongside the new release, Hollingsworth has teamed up with 4 Hands Brewing Company (St. Louis, MO) to craft the perfect beer pairing to complement the music. Look for the collaboration beer this fall in the Midwest near Kyle Hollingsworth Band tour dates at select retailers and taps.

PERTURBATOR Shares New Atmospheric Single ‘The Swimming Pool’ From New Album AGE OF AQUARIUS
PERTURBATOR – the Paris-based composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist James Kent – today released ‘The Swimming Pool,’ the third single previewing his new album Age of Aquarius due out on October 10th via Nuclear Blast Records. ‘The Swimming Pool’ is a serene instrumental piano ballad that evokes video game music, fittingly as PERTURBATOR first broke through via the soundtracks to the beloved Hotline Miami shooter games in 2012 and 2015. The track’s gorgeous, moonlit ambiance is vaguely surreal, hinting at a dream that inspired the composition. “‘The Swimming Pool’ is a little moment of respite in an otherwise mostly aggressive album,” Kent explains. “It’s simple, minimalist, and intimate. Inspired by a dream I had years ago in which I found myself stuck in a huge hotel, searching ever so unsuccessfully for the swimming pool.”
‘The Swimming Pool’ follows album singles ‘Apocalypse Now,’ featuring lead vocals by Norwegian metal titan Kristoffer Rygg (Ulver), and ‘The Art of War,’ which earned praise and support from Brooklyn Vegan, Metal Injection, Exclaim!, Metal Sucks, The PRP, New Noise, MXDWN, and more.
Age of Aquarius is available for pre-order HERE
On Age of Aquarius, PERTURBATOR offers up a more propulsive spin on his moody early work, showcasing his most confident, plainly beautiful, and thematically refined music to date. Where his previous album, 2021’s Lustful Sacraments, was about bad habits and addiction, his sixth LP – mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Opeth) and also featuring Alcest, Author & Punisher and Greta Link – explores how individualism, conflict, and war are interrelated and dominant societal forces. Both brutal and sublime, Age of Aquarius feels like the musical equivalent of a scream into the existential void.
Kent intentionally chooses very evocative song titles since most of his tracks lack lyrics and primarily convey mood through instrumentals. “I like to think of every album as a movie,” he says. “The tracks are all scenes from that one big movie.” The most brutal scene, then, is ‘The Art of War,’ which ranks among Kent’s hardest-hitting songs; its vivid, forceful production attests to the two and a half years he spent tirelessly mastering and elevating his signature style (he wrote, recorded, performed, produced, and mixed the record himself, minus the guest vocals and lyrics). The track embodies the very sound of going into battle, and it could well be the album’s thesis. “It’s more of war as an idea than a concrete event,” Kent says about the LP’s subject matter. It’s no surprise his distinct style of electronic body music (EBM)–built on a DNA of post-punk, goth, and techno influences–has widely appealed to fans of new wave, industrial, and metal alike (his recent collaborators and tourmates HEALTH are an apt comparison).
We might always be in conflict as a species – with others and ourselves – but with Age of Aquarius, Kent provides its fantastic score.

BRUCE DICKINSON More Balls To Picasso His Classic 1994 Album Revisited And Reinvented Out Now via BMG
In 1994, having left Iron Maiden for a time (he rejoined in 1999), Bruce Dickinson released his second solo album, entitled Balls To Picasso. Named in honour of the cubist pioneer whose representations of spherical objects were as squares, and reflected on the cover in graffiti style on a tiled bathroom wall, the album belied its irreverent title by solidifying Dickinson’s reputation as a serious solo artist.
His first record with collaborator Roy Z, and recorded with Z’s band Tribe Of Gypsies, it went through various iterations before its release, produced by Shay Baby. The original album included a number of classic tracks and live favourites from Dickinson including the singles ‘Tears Of The Dragon’ and ‘Shoot All The Clowns’, alongside the much-loved epic ‘Laughing In The Hiding Bush’, which was the original title for the album.
Yet despite its positive reception at the time, it never quite captured Dickinson’s original vision which was even more expansive in scope and ambition. However, with the ability to revisit his solo catalogue – and following on from Dickinson’s hugely acclaimed album The Mandrake Project in 2024 – the brand new part re-recorded, remixed and newly mastered version of the album, now entitled More Balls To Picasso, reimagines it as a fresh and contemporary release; a roaringly full-throttle and ambitious collection of supremely crafted and realised songs.
Dickinson says of it, “While mixing all my catalogue into Dolby Atmos I had a nagging desire to revisit and reinvent the record. So putting more balls into ‘Balls…’ was a labour of love. Of course, we beefed up the guitars – courtesy of our ‘Swedish shredder’ Philip Naslund and we added some really beautiful work by Adassi Addasi on ‘Tears…’ as well. Fellow Brazilian composer Antonio Teoli added some stunning orchestral arrangements, and in a unique contribution, added indigenous instruments from the Amazon (recorded by himself when he lived there!) at the beginning of ‘Gods Of War’.

“‘Shoot All The Clowns’ gets the benefit of a horn section fronted by the Berklee College of Music, and all of the record gets the benefit of the mix by Brendan Duffey, (who worked on The Mandrake Project), with notes along the way from Shay Baby, the original father of the album”.
Additionally, More Balls To Picasso includes two previously unreleased live in-the-studio tracks, ‘Gods of War’ and ‘Shoot All the Clowns’. It is available as a splatter vinyl double album and tri-panel digisleeve CD album.

NO CIGAR reveal anticipated third studio LP ‘UNDER THE SURFACE’. Touring AU/NZ October & November
Having spent the last two years touring consistently through Aotearoa and beyond with their unbeatable brand of dynamic indie-rock music, NO CIGAR now embrace the release of their much-anticipated new project – album number three, Under The Surface.
An album jampacked with songs that speak to the band’s elevated chemistry as songwriters and performers, Under The Surface plucks at fresh sonic influences while driving home NO CIGAR’s curiosity for pushing themselves into new creative directions.
Featuring popular tracks including ‘Clean’, ‘Chantilly’, and ‘Best Behaviour’, Under The Surface provides the listener with multiple moments to lose themselves in. For fans of NO CIGAR who have been lucky enough to see the five-piece perform across the last year and a half, the kinetic energy woven through their live performances will recognise that same energy within the DNA of this album. For newcomers, consider Under The Surface as the perfect jump off point in discovering more about one of Aotearoa’s most exciting exports.
“Music is our escapism, it’s where we squeeze the poison, sucked from the wounds of love, life and pain. As songwriters, and for me as a lyricist, getting to open up in a place that feels safe, with the boys, feels cathartic in a way nothing else can. Like many people, I struggle to speak candidly with anyone about what haunts me most. Letting it out can feel like pushing a mouthful of emotions through a pinhole; therefore, I choose my words carefully, so as to leave no venom on the tongue.” NO CIGAR
Created at Auckland’s renowned Roundhead Studios, Under The Surface shines in the way the music incorporates new flavours (‘Merci Merci’, ‘Cherry Blossom Girl’), while also letting the personality of the songwriting take prominence. NO CIGAR’s music to date has spoken to the band’s natural talents as artists – a savvy knack of knowing how to build a sonic space that the listener gravitates towards with ease.
Under The Surface takes the lessons and experiences from recent years, particularly since the release of their last album – 2023’s The Great Escape – and distills them here into twelve tracks of fun, thoughtful and engaging music.
“Just as we’ve grown as people in the last few years since our first album, so too has the music. We never set out to make music that is ‘heavier’ or ‘softer’; we just find the time to lock ourselves away from the world, get comfortable, and open the floodgates. The way the heavier tones in the album balance nicely with softer numbers make for our most dynamic album to date. NO CIGAR like you’ve never seen it before.” NO CIGAR
The release of Under The Surface comes off the back of sold out tours across the UK and Aotearoa, with NO CIGAR’s impressive back catalogue continuing to resonate with increasingly large audiences in global markets – Australasia, Europe, North America and the UK.
To celebrate the release of Under The Surface, NO CIGAR will be touring Australia and New Zealand this October and November.
“We’re coming home Aussie (it feels like it anyway – we know you’ll claim us as your own some day). It’s been a minute. We love you, and can’t wait to share our brand new album with you. Prove to us why Aussie crowds are the best in the world. We’ll bring the noise, you bring the energy. Vise versa.”

DARCIE HAVEN drops ‘Angel of the Apocalypse’ EP + fierce new single ‘Girlfriend’
DARCIE HAVEN UNLEASHES SOPHOMORE EP ANGEL OF THE APOCALYPSE
Hailing from a remote farm in Esperance, WA, and now based in Melbourne, singer-songwriter Darcie Haven shares her most personal and commanding work to date with the release of her EP, Angel of the Apocalypse, out Wednesday. Known for her searing honesty, grungy indie-pop production, and darkly playful perspective, Haven’s new collection captures the raw emotional chaos of short-lived but high-intensity relationships, the kind that implode with the drama of a doomsday.
The EP’s focus track ‘Girlfriend’ perfectly encapsulates this dynamic. Equal parts biting and vulnerable, it delves into the blurred boundaries of casual love and emotional misfires. Darcie shares:
“Girlfriend is a tongue in cheek narrative about navigating casual relationships. It’s about that muddled grey area, where you feel like the more you give someone, the less you get, until you’re left with the spiralling thought that maybe you’re not the only one this person is seeing.”
A self-described antihero of heartbreak, Haven has built a reputation for writing songs that hit like journal entries, brutally honest, dramatically sincere, and destined to be screamed alone in the car. Her songs live in the emotional extremes and speak directly to a generation navigating relationships through the lens of overthinking, spiraling and self-awareness.
Born on a remote Western Australian farm, Darcie Haven channels emotional isolation and personal chaos into music that’s been compared to Gracie Abrams, Holly Humberstone and Phoebe Bridgers. Her storytelling is sharp and observational, her vocals urgent and confessional. In just over a year, she’s amassed 650K+ YouTube views, 3.3 million TikTok likes, and built a deeply loyal fanbase drawn to her fearless vulnerability.
That audience continues to grow rapidly. Recently, Haven announced her first-ever national headline tour, with 80% of tickets selling within 24 hours. Her Sydney pop-up event, oversold by over 460 people, prompting a last-minute venue change to accommodate the overwhelming turnout, filling Chippendale Green with a feverish energy reminiscent of Lorde’s Washington Gardens song premiere.
Her last three singles ‘Doomsday’, ‘Burner Account’, and ‘Hounds’ all received first plays and full adds on triple j, with ‘Doomsday’ alone receiving over 1,500 responses to the textline. Collectively, her songs have clocked over 700 radio spins, while DSPs have continued to champion her with placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday (AU & NZ, India, Denmark), Pop n’ Fresh, hits different, Equal AU & NZ, and the cover of Tapestry, as well as Apple Music’s New in Pop, Heartbreak Pop, and New Music Daily, Amazon Music’s Brand New Music, and TIDAL’s New Tracks – Pop and Indie Rising.
The momentum continues with ‘Girlfriend’ receiving a first play on triple j Drive, followed by an on-air interview on Home & Hosed with Ash McGregor, and a spin on the Hot Hits with Nic and Lauren, a powerful early response to the EP’s boldest and most confessional track.
On stage, Darcie has opened for Holy Holy, Vance Joy, DMAs, Alex Lahey, Great Gable, and Birds of Tokyo, and appeared at SummerSalt and WA Day festivals. She also features on Holy Holy’s latest album Cellophane with the track ‘Heroes’. Media support has followed suit, with glowing praise from Rolling Stone, The Guardian, The West Australian, Happy Mag, Women in Pop, and more.

BOOTLEG RASCAL DROP DARING DUB CUT ‘CRYING FOR THE WEEKEND’
Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based band, Bootleg Rascal, have just unveiled their genre-bending party-starting track ‘Crying For The Weekend’ – produced and mixed by Matty Madeit (JK-47, Logan Priest, Nerve) at Studio Made It, with mastering by Ian Pritchett (Angus and Julia Stone, Boo Seeka).
‘Crying For The Weekend’ opens with a simmer – electro-dub textures swirl like heat off pavement, before slamming into a wall of bass-heavy, soul-thumping grit that refuses to ease up. It’s the sound of two longtime collaborators chasing the rush of sunburnt festival fields and midnight misadventures across Europe. Packed with euphoria, chaos, and pure dancefloor catharsis, it’s a pre-summer riot built for sticky floors, raised hands and everything in between.
Click to stream ‘Crying For The Weekend’
Guitarist Jimmy Young shares the inspiration behind the track:
“It’s an ode to all the weekend warriors. The ones who slog it out all week at work, to blow it all on the weekend. There are moments of self-reflection, alluding to a growing disillusionment with the never-ending party lifestyle. Perhaps a part of us wants it to end, while another part of us wants it to last forever. At times we struggle to recognise the man in the mirror, but ultimately we accept who he is. One more for the road?”
Over the past year, the band have undertaken a vigorous touring schedule with a slew of sold-out shows, notably their ‘Steppin’ Round The World’ tour of New Zealand, and the UK/EU, including stops in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and England.
This came off the back of their nationwide Australian ‘BOOTY BLOCK PARTY’ tour, which saw the band traverse capital cities in each state and territory. Additionally, they’ve played festivals such as Salty Hops, Live At The Pines, Winter Wine, and Spaced Out, and supported reggae legends Steel Pulse (UK).

Jordan Laser releases cinematic alt-pop ballad ‘Holiday’, ahead of EP release
Sydney-based Jordan Laser releases ‘Holiday’, a dark and dreamy exploration of complicated love, delivered in a smoky, cinematic style reminiscent of Lykke Li, Mazzy Star and Lana Del Rey.
‘Holiday’ is the second single from Jordan Laser’s upcoming EP, following on from ‘Howling’, both of which were co-produced with Alex Markwell (The Delta Riggs). It’s emotionally raw, quietly bold and invites listeners into a world of 90s nostalgia and modern alt-pop storytelling. ‘Holiday’ explores themes of longing, escapism and reflective solitude, told by a protagonist whose haunting vocals carry a visceral kind of honesty.
Jordan Laser explains “Holiday is about being with someone who thinks the grass might be greener somewhere else. Being in that place makes you question everything. Does this person want me, or just an escape? Am I the destination, or just a pit-stop along the way? That kind of feeling.”

Jordan’s lyrics are like arrows aimed straight at the heart, drawing listeners into a vivid, candle-lit place, evoking a mood that’s both personal and universally relatable – with lush production and the rich emotional depth of her voice, juxtaposing both strength and vulnerability.
When she was just 20 years old, Jim Moginie and Rob Hirst (Midnight Oil) saw enormous promise in Jordan Laser and subsequently took her under their collective wings to mentor her and produce her first EP, ‘Just Like Autumn’. Since then, Jordan has self-produced a string of stunning singles like ‘Battleship’, ‘Slow Motion’, ‘Under The Wheel’ and ‘100 Days of Solitude’, the latter of which was co-produced by Jack Moffitt (The Preatures) and championed by both Double J and RUSSH, who premiered the song’s hypnotic music video.
Earlier this year, her single ‘Howling’ was premiered on triple j Unearthed radio and went on to be featured on Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel’s New Music Friday on-air on Nova and their Spotify playlist, as well as Spotify’s New Music Friday. Now, Jordan Laser invites us deeper into her world as ‘Holiday’ gives us a further taste of what’s to come on her forthcoming sophomore EP.

CARLA GENEVE Announces new album Don’t Be Afraid out 17 Oct
New single ‘Better Believe It’ out now via Dot Dash Recordings
Renowned for her powerhouse vocals, raw vulnerability, and evocative storytelling, multi-award-winning artist Carla Geneve today announces her third studio album, Don’t Be Afraid, set for release on Friday 17 October via Dot Dash Recordings / Remote Control. A deeply personal exploration of fear, acceptance, and love, Don’t Be Afraid draws inspiration from Seamus Heaney’s final words. Through vulnerable, piano-driven melodies and intimate lyricism, the album invites listeners to embrace their imperfections and discover strength in compassion and courage.
Today, Carla shares new single ‘Better Believe It‘, the first taste of what’s to come. Speaking on the meaning behind the new single, Carla shares;
“I wrote this song after reading Virginia Woolf’s last words in the form of her suicide note.
It reads as a love letter to her husband, and an apology that she couldn’t stay with him in life. That temporary state of mind that causes someone to end their life is so indescribably sad, especially when they are acutely aware of how much they have to hold onto and cherish in this world.
In this song I used a phrase from that note, but changed it to so it not only expresses love, but also a readiness to face the world because of love. It’s a very personal thing to use someone’s suicide note as motive for a song, and I hope that in Woolf’s life long commitment to writing she would not mind.”
Carla Geneve’s AMP-nominated debut album, Learn To Like It, was released during the pandemic, and the quiet months that followed gave her time to reflect, conceptualise, and begin writing her second LP. “My experience had broadened — I’d been touring and working so hard for so long, and then I finally had a chance to do not much at all. I was also diagnosed with bipolar at that time. Understanding the implications of that diagnosis is a big part of this album,” she explains. That album, 2023’s Hertz, marked a shift in perspective for Geneve, shaped by major life changes and intense personal growth, all brought to life through her signature brutally honest lyricism.
Don’t Be Afraid was born from a rare period of stillness in Geneve’s life. In 2022, she settled into a permanent home for the first time in years and bought a piano, an immovable presence that became her sanctuary and muse. Through the hours spent exploring subtle emotional textures on the keys, she unlocked new depths in her songwriting, creating songs that weave vulnerability with strength, subtlety with rawness.
Unlike her previous albums, Don’t Be Afraid is a true collaboration with producer Dan Carroll, who has shaped the soundscape with his own intuitive touch, adding layers and nuance to Geneve’s stories. Together, they found freedom in letting go of perfection and control, allowing the music to breathe and evolve naturally.

Nick Littlemore & Ladyhawke release nostalgic dancefloor filler ‘Love Is You’ ahead of Teenager’s forthcoming ‘Fourteen’
Teenager’s new chapter continues to build momentum with the release of ‘Love Is You’, the third single from their highly anticipated new body of work, Fourteen, due later this year. Having released a string of singles for the first time in almost two decades, Nick Littlemore (PNAU, Empire of the Sun) and Pip Brown (Ladyhawke) have captivated fans with their unique blend of euphoric synths, pulsing basslines and electronic rock.
Following on from ‘A.A.’ and ‘Sail The Seas’, ‘Love Is You’ is a synth-laden tale of love, longing and infatuation, driven by a swirling, hypnotic beat with Ladyhawke’s intoxicating vocals capturing the euphoric high of falling in love. It’s their most dancefloor-ready release yet, with Nick Littlemore’s signature hooks, lush soundscape and cinematic intensity creating an immersive and mesmerising experience, which will no doubt draw in new and long-time fans alike with their unmistakable sonic chemistry.
Nick Littlemore says of the song “Sometimes songs really shoot out like arrows, straight from the heart into existence. Sometimes songs really are spells that bring light in straight from the sun. Sometimes songs just feel right. That happens a lot when Ladyhawke sings them.”
STREAM & DOWNLOAD TEENAGER ‘LOVE IS YOU’
Teenager was formed in 2004 by Nick Littlemore (PNAU and Empire of the Sun) and featured the then emerging talent of Kiwi, Pip Brown, who later became known globally as Ladyhawke.
The band released their debut album, Thirteen, in 2006, which was characterised by a blend of danceable beats and punk rock influences. Recorded across studios in Sydney, London, New York, Paris and Los Angeles, the album featured hits like ‘Pony’ and ‘Bound and Gagged’, which showcased their unique and energetic style. Partly due to Nick Littlemore’s DIY ethos as well as its collaborators from Sonic Youth, Van She, Luke Steele, The Birthday Party and The Presets, the album found cult status in the UK, US and Australia.
Despite their promising start, the band was short-lived by their own preeminent success. By 2007, Pip Brown was focussed on her solo career as Ladyhawke, releasing her debut self-titled album in 2008, boasting synth and electro-pop classic gems like ‘My Delirium’ & ‘Paris Is Burning’. Similarly, Nick Littlemore returned to his work with PNAU, and soon after formed Empire of the Sun with Luke Steele, through which his distinctive artistic vision produced globally renowned genre-defying songs like Empire of the Sun’s ‘Walking On A Dream’, ‘We Are The People’ and ‘Alive’ as well as PNAU’s ‘Go Bang’, Elton John & Dua Lipa’s ‘Cold Heart’ (PNAU remix) and Troye Sivan’s ‘You Know What I Need’.
Amidst this creative outpouring, the bond between the pair never waned and they continued to collaborate, writing and recording songs between projects and at times from opposite sides of the world, meaning that this long-awaited new collection of songs is almost two decades in the making. However, Teenager are not simply picking up where they left off – they’re charting an entirely new course through a dream-like blend of euphoric synths and pulsing basslines, kicking off with a string of undeniably catchy songs including ‘A.A.’, ‘Sail The Seas’ and ‘Love Is You’ in the lead up to Fourteen, due later this year.

NUNCHUKKA SUPERFLY RELEASE FIRST NEW ALBUM IN FOUR YEARS, IF YOU GO DOWN I GO DOWN TOO
BRISBANE, MELBOURNE & SYDNEY ALBUM LAUNCHES ANNOUNCED WITH MORE TO FOLLOW
Sydney heavy music legends Nunchukka Superfly have today released their seventh album If You Go Down I Go Down Too.
If You Go Down I Go Down Too is the first album in 4 years from the band, and the first to include their latest (and fourth) drummer John Banicevic.
The release of the new Nunchukka Superfly album follows Ray and Blackie’s recently completed 13-date US tour with their other band the Hard-Ons, which featured Jerry A from Poison Idea as guest lead vocalist, and which had the band on a triple bill with The Melvins and Napalm Death. That tour coincided with the release of a Hard-ons with Jerry A single “You Won’t Shut Up”/”Dead End Turnaround”, which will be followed by an album sometime soon.
Nunchukka Superfly will launch If You Go Down I Go Down Too in Melbourne at the Northcote Social Club on Wednesday August 27. The show is part of the both the venue’s 20th Anniversary celebration and a Cheersquad Records & Tapes Residency. Guests on the night are the band’s labelmates The Meanies + Super American Eagle.
Additionally they will launch the album in Brisbane at Crowbar on Friday August 15, and in Sydney at the Marrickville Bowling Club on Saturday August 30.
The complete list of forthcoming Nunchukka Superfly shows as it stands at the moment is as follows:
August 15th Crowbar Brisbane + Gravel Samwidge + Gudgeon
August 27th Northcote Social Club Melbourne + Meanies + Super American Eagle
August 30th Marrickville Bowlo Sydney + Rubber Necker + Dark Clouds + No Cake
September 13th Ryan’s Thirroul
September 27th The Oaks Newcastle
To keep up with announcements follow the band on Facebook or Intagram.
Nunchukka Superfly are super excited about the new album. “We recorded it at Parliament studios with Lachlan Mitchell again and like with each record we’ve done we just wanna go that little bit further,” sez Blackie.
“Album no 7 and we’re pretty effing proud of it … It’s our most prog to date! With John Banicevic, our 4th drummer… yikes that seems like a lot.
“I know we’re known for our punk rock but like most our age, before we heard any of that we loved the classic rock of the day .. As we’ve gotten older that’s deepened to included a lot of the prog rock that we missed out on cause it was dissed by punks but fuck I LOVE YES and King Crimson, Genesis etc.. I think somehow in our minds we also act like we’re space rock and post punk etc..
“This record is really where we’re at. We laugh sometimes and say we’re a bunch of shitty punks trying to play prog.”
And why four years in between Nunchukka albums anyway?
“For a few reasons but mainly through shitty luck.. we’ve had awesome drummers but life gets in the way .. I gotta say though John is a POWERHOUSE!! And, like us, willing to try just about anything!
Nunchukka Superfly’s new album If You Go Down I Go Down Too is out today on Cheersquad Records & Tapes

LANCE FERGUSON RETURNS TO TRU THOUGHTS & REWORKS A JAZZ-FUNK CLASSIC ‘COULD HEAVEN EVER BE LIKE THIS’
Lance Ferguson, the New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based producer, songwriter, guitarist, DJ and recording artist, returns to Tru Thoughts with his latest single, ‘Could Heaven Ever Be Like This’, a vibrant reimagining of Idris Muhammad’s seminal 1977 jazz-funk cut. OUT NOW
“2025 marks two decades since I first signed with Tru Thoughts Records. I was DJing at The Brighton Jazz Rooms in 2000 and got to meet the wonderful Rob Luis, and being a big TT fan, I handed him a CDR with some new recordings from The Bamboos and my Lanu solo project. Rob was into the music, and later he got back to me and we ended up signing both acts to the label” – Lance Ferguson
On this new single, Lance strips back and reconstructs Muhammad’s euphoric groove from the ground up, he explains, “There have been a few cover versions of Idris Muhammad’s Jazz-Funk perennial over the years, but it’s such an incredible song that I couldn’t resist adding it to the RGS list. We have given it a propulsive “Four-on-the-floor” feel with extra percussion elements, and Saxophonist Phil Noy pulls out a really killer Alto solo.” Previously covered by artists Jamie xx and Incognito, Lance’s version brings a fresh energy while honouring the original.
Known for his work with The Bamboos, Menagerie and Lanu, Lance has carved a reputation as one of Australia’s most versatile and visionary musical minds. Across his Rare Groove Spectrum series, released via Freestyle, he delves into a deep crate of Soul, Jazz, Latin and Funk obscurities, re-recording them with a live band to breathe new life into under-appreciated classics. Previous Rare Groove Spectrum volumes have received strong support from tastemakers like Gilles Peterson, Jazz FM, Bandcamp and Craig Charles. Lance has produced 45 full-length albums and more than 100 singles and remixes for an array of respected labels, including Atlantic, Universal, Warner, BMG, Sony, Tru Thoughts (UK), Ubiquity (USA), Inertia (Australia), Freestyle (UK) and his own imprint Pacific Theatre. His work has earned him Seven ARIA Award nominations and Five APRA Music Award nominations, cementing his influence.
His songwriting and production work achieved global chart domination in 2016 with the hit ‘This Girl’ by Kungs vs Cookin’ On 3 Burners, co-written and originally produced by Lance. The track reached Top 5 in 29 countries, hit #1 in 10 territories, and achieved Diamond, Multi-Platinum, Platinum and Gold certifications across the US, UK, France, Germany and beyond. It currently boasts over 1.27 Billion Spotify streams and 545 million YouTube views.
A trusted collaborator and producer, Lance has worked with a wide-ranging roster of artists, including Aloe Blacc, Roy Ayers, Alice Russell, Durand Jones, Tim Rogers, Daniel Merriweather, Quantic, Lyrics Born, Joey Dosik, Kylie Auldist, TY, and J-Live. His boundary-blurring approach has seen him championed as: “Australia’s answer to Mark Ronson” – Blues & Soul Magazine (UK)
His music has appeared in over 200 compilations and across an impressive number of international media placements, including CSI NYC, Grey’s Anatomy, Homeland, The Blacklist, House of Cards, Suits, NFL Sunday Morning, Ugly Betty, and Neighbours, as well as major advertising campaigns for Old El Paso, Font Vella, BMW, Westpac, Air New Zealand, Miss Dior, Chase Manhattan, and films like Jurassic Park: Rebirth, Crazy Stupid Love, Good Hair and Adoration.
As a guitarist, Lance has shared stages and studios with Ed Sheeran, Aloe Blacc, Syl Johnson, Joe Bataan, Eddie Bo, Betty Harris, and more, bringing his signature tone and touch to collaborations with soul legends and modern innovators alike. His DJ sets and live shows have taken him around the world, including performances at The Barbican (London), The Jazz Café, Low End Theory (LA), The Brighton Jazz Rooms, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and throughout Australia and New Zealand.
‘Could Heaven Ever Be Like This’ is a testament to Lance’s skill as both curator and arranger, paying homage to an era while crafting something entirely his own.

WITCH ANNOUCE AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES
Mistletone, Jet Black Cat Music and Mushroom Music proudly presents the return of WITCH (We Intend To Cause Havoc) to Australia this November. Following their remarkable global resurgence and critical acclaim around 2023’s reunion album Zango–their first in nearly 40 years–Zamrock pioneers WITCH returned in 2025 with an even bolder creative statement with their follow-up, SOGOLO. The iconic ensemble is survived by Jagari Chanda and Patrick Mwondela, who came back after decades in obscurity following a documentary and brilliant comeback album. Now on a roll, WITCH return to Australia with phenomenal new album SOGOLO to follow their triumphant sold out 2024 tour.
Once upon a time, WITCH ruled Zambia, blowing the minds of a generation with their radical sounds. Zamrock wasn’t just music, it was rebellion; a sonic renaissance and a radical act of self-definition, funneled through fuzz pedals, sweat, and spirit. Drawing from psychedelic rock, garage funk, blues, and traditional Zambian rhythms, it was raw and unpredictable – like James Brown jamming with Black Sabbath in a Lusaka backyard. The band’s electrifying guitar sound is both primal and futuristic: the distortion heavy, the grooves deep, the energy untamed.
WATCH: WITCH – Queenless King (Official Video)
“SOGOLO means front or future-of a team with hope, peace, love and entertainment; we’re wearing smiles, laughter and joy on our faces; we march and dance to criss-cross rhythms and melodies towards happiness… Let’s go friends, let’s go guys – SOGOLO in unity..” – Jagari Chanda
About WITCH…
The full story of WITCH is almost too extraordinary to believe. Known as the “Zambian Beatles,” they founded the Zamrock movement and released seven albums during the 1970s and early ‘80s. Tragically, the AIDS epidemic brought an end to the Zamrock era, claiming the lives of all original members except Jagari. WITCH’s music was reissued in 2012, sparking a global rediscovery that led to their triumphant return. Zango was met with rapturous acclaim, including a major New York Times profile, sold-out world tours, and an award-winning documentary that screened globally.

DANIEL MUGGLETON announces ‘YOU MAY BE WHITE’, I MAY BE CRAZY’ 2025 Australian Tour
Armed with his infamous red tracksuit (of which he owns 17 total, 9 of them red), Sydney comic Daniel Muggleton is set to bring his latest show ‘You May Be White, I May Be Crazy’ right across the country this year, with an extensive 35-date tour starting in September.
Making a name for himself with a blend of brutally refreshing social commentary, engaging crowd work and a dash of self-depreciation – his live shows frequently sell-out at comedy festivals around the world, earning him numerous five-star reviews and even a couple of industry awards along the way.
In 2024, Daniel became a father for the first time – an experience that has put a new lens on his perspective, and one that he will explore throughout the ‘You May Be White, I May Be Crazy’ tour.
“Hello, I’m Daniel Muggleton, I’m the guy. I just wanted to let you know that unlike previous years there’s a chance this show is about something. If I had to choose a word to describe what that is I’d say ‘family’ but remember, the Fast & Furious franchise is also about family so there’s an equal chance this show is about street racing or about me finally becoming a father. Cheers.”
DANIEL MUGGLETON
In the show, Daniel explores the new challenges he faces as a parent, including how to approach masculinity when raising a son; “I finally became a father after years of trying. We had a son, which I didn’t want because it’s now my responsibility to teach him how to be a man and I don’t know what that means in 2025.”
Daniel will also be discussing his time living in the UK – and how that changed his perception of his home country; “Australians love to move overseas… for a bit. Very few of us move permanently because, well, we realise how good we have it back home. But living overseas is a great experience because that’s how you learn what’s Australian and what’s normal – which isn’t necessarily the same thing.”
Daniel has had a big few years, to say the least. His comedy specials ‘Let’s Never Hang Out’ (2020) & ‘White & Wrong’ (2024) have aired on Channel 7, Amazon Prime and ABC TV; he recently sold out shows in Auckland and Christchurch on his first New Zealand tour this year; He was selected as one of the ‘Must-See Shows’ at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe by Rolling Stone UK & The Edinburgh Inquirer; he was hand-picked to support Steve Hofstetter, Jim Jefferies and Ismo on tour, and was invited to perform as part of Just For Laughs at the Sydney Opera House in 2023.
Off the stage, He has appeared previously on The Checkout (ABC) and The Feed (SBS) , featured on various radio guest spots for Triple M and ABC Radio, and is one of the hosts of cult-hit podcast Flog Cabin alongside Tom Witcombe & Andrew Hamilton.
Tickets are available now via danielmuggleton.com.au.

BLAKE.08 UNVEILS NEW SINGLE ‘BASS IN THE AREA’ FEAT. CLAXY + DEBUT ALBUM FROM SYDNEY WITH LOVE ARRIVES AUGUST 22 VIA ANJUNADEEP + AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR SET FOR AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
Sydney producer and rising Anjunadeep artist Blake.08 today unveils the release of his much-anticipated debut album From Sydney With Love, set for release on August 22 via Anjunadeep. Along with the album announcement, he drops the hypnotic, groove-driven single ‘Bass In The Area’ featuring Brazilian duo Claxy. The news is further highlighted by the announcement of Blake’s first Australian headline tour, set to take place throughout August and September this year.
Driven by a tight breakbeat and a deep, funk-leaning bassline, ‘Bass In The Area’ is a sharp and stylish club cut that showcases Blake’s signature sound – rhythm-forward, emotionally resonant, and built for movement. The track features an enchanting Portuguese vocal from Clara Valentine and Gui Gautreaux of Claxy, adding a rich global dimension to its minimal, punchy production.
“The groove is driven by that funky bassline – everything sonically orbits around it,” Blake shares. “There’s a light touch of bell sounds too, which keeps it simple but high quality. It really feels like my signature Blake.08 breakbeat style”.
The new single sets the stage for From Sydney With Love – a deeply personal, 13-track debut album built entirely in Blake’s home studio. The record reflects on over 15 years of creative growth, translating fear, courage, restlessness and joy into intricate sound design and club-ready grooves. It also pays tribute to Blake’s hometown – both a literal and emotional anchor.
“This album is a love letter to Sydney,” says Blake. “It’s where I’ve moved through so many phases of life. Without Sydney – the culture, the people, my family, the beaches, the harbour – I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”
To celebrate the release, Blake.08 will bring From Sydney With Love to stages across Australia this spring. The national tour commences at the end of August and runs through to the end of September, with headline shows at Chophouse in Falls Creek, New Guernica in Melbourne, Civic Underground in Sydney, Nevermind Alley in Adelaide, Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane, Elsewhere on the Gold Coast, with more shows to be announced soon. Fans can expect an immersive live experience that captures the album’s full emotional and sonic spectrum.
2025 has already been a standout year for the Sydney artist, with shows across Australia, New Zealand, London, Dubai and Albania – including sets on anamē’s Australian tour, all three stops of the Anjunadeep Open Air Australia tour (Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide) playing alongside Nils Hoffman, Marsh, Romain Garcia, and HANA and a triumphant return to Anjunadeep Explorations. His live sets are all-original and emotionally immersive, designed to move both bodies and minds – a spirit he’ll bring home with his upcoming Australian tour later this year.
MORE ON BLAKE.08
From experimenting in his teens with UKF dubstep and Mau5trap-inspired sounds to breakthrough success as one half of techno duo Human Movement, Blake Gilray has always chased originality. Since stepping out solo as Blake.08 in 2021, he’s carved a unique creative lane – one defined by emotional depth, hypnotic groove, and an unwavering focus on craft. His music has since caught the attention of tastemakers across the electronic spectrum, with support from the likes of Solomun, Lane 8, Tycho, Above & Beyond, and longtime Anjunadeep icon Jody Wisternoff, who collaborated with Blake on the 2024 standout ‘BLAM.’
Signing to Anjunadeep in 2023, Blake released a string of acclaimed EPs – High Fidelity, Eyes Ablaze and Happy Finally – earning praise for their immersive soundscapes and hands-on production. His music has been championed by underground heroes and global icons alike, and featured across club sets, radio shows, and playlists around the world. Blake.08’s genre-blending style has attracted admiration from across the electronic spectrum.

Cordrazine release second new track in 15 years – a cover of the iconic Bronski Beat hit “Smalltown Boy”
Cordrazine, the ’90s Melbourne indie pop-rock enigma fronted by Hamish Cowan – who in 2022 celebrated 25 years since their brief but impactful initial existence centered around the iconic tune “Crazy” and ARIA Top 10 debut album From Here to Wherever – have released today a cover of the Bronski Beat’s iconic 1984 debut single and hit “Smalltown Boy” as their new single.
“Smalltown Boy” follows last year’s single “Hey Man”, which was their first new music in nearly 15 years. “Hey Man” and “Smalltown Boy” are both part of a new EP entitled You See In Me which will be released later in the year.
Listen to “Smalltown Boy” on the platform of your choice here – https://orcd.co/smalltownboy
The release of “Smalltown Boy” will be followed by a couple of rare Cordrazine solo/duo appearances. Hamish Cowan and Nick Batterham will appear alongside the Earthmen as special guests on Drop City’s Magic Transistor Radio 30th Anniversary Shows Saturday September 6 at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne and Saturday September 13 at the Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney.
Cordrazine’s Hamish Cowan says of the decision to record “Smalltown Boy”:
“It is an iconic song. Beyond being a gay anthem, its themes of marginalisation, alienation and intolerance of difference – as if that difference is somehow an existential threat – are universal and remain sadly all too relevant.
“It is perhaps easy to forget the bravery of Jimmy Somerville and the band. The song was a bold political declaration of pride and humanity during a very hostile time and in an environment where such statements carried significant personal risk.
“Jimmy’s vocal was an inspiration. His falsetto was something I imitated. Its influence is evident all through Cordrazine.
“I have always wanted to record a version of ‘Smalltown Boy’, though knew any attempt needed to offer something new. The stripped back piano and string arrangement Nick Batterham came up with captures the loneliness of the lyric. It was that loneliness, living in a small coastal town and feeling a bit different, that resonated. Hopefully our version captures the mournful character of the song, the grief and hurt of rejection.
“The song is of such importance, and I have so much reverence for it, it has taken all these years to come up with an arrangement, which we feel offers something different enough, yet still does justice to the original. “
CORDRAZINE 2025
“It feels like that time again”, Hamish Cowan says. “Once every 10 years or so, seems about the right pace to record and release music. Though the truth is, music is never out of my life, it just takes me a while to get around to sharing it”.
Cordrazine first appeared in Melbourne with their 1996 EP Time to Leave. Introducing the exquisite voice of Hamish Cowan and four beautiful, classic pop songs with flourishes of gorgeous Fender Rhodes, subtle jazzy hues and powerful moods, the EP set the scene alight.
The band released their debut album, From Here To Wherever in 1997. The world was soon to learn however, the band had already parted ways prior to the album’s release. Nonetheless, the album rocketed into the top ten of the ARIA Album Chart on the back of phenomenal reviews, vast radio airplay and a raft of television appearances. From Here To Wherever features the still astonishing ballad “Crazy”.
The raw emotion and open-a-vein honesty provoked the kind of obsessive fan reactions, journalistic intrusions and forced self-reflection that Cowan admits were actually too much for him to deal with. “I was being asked questions about aspects of my being in interviews, I’d not considered myself. Interviews were more like psychoanalysis than a conversation about the music I’d written”.
So, then it happened. After countless Australian tours, an Aria chart Top 40 EP, an album ready for release and ARIA Award nominations, whilst on tour in the USA, with no formal announcement, Cowan called time on the band and shrunk away, before they could even fully break through. Cordrazine undeniably had so much more to offer.
2024’s single “Hey Man” was the first Cordrazine release in almost 15 years. An epic production including a 28-piece string section, Cowan feels like the track is a natural expression of all of the influences that have shaped he and the band. Though he confesses, “As long as we don’t sound like we are bereft of ideas, I will be happy. I don’t care if people hate it, I just don’t want people to be bored and unaffected – hatred is better than indifference”.
“Hey Man” was the first of a series of releases that will culminate in the release of the EP You See In Me toward the end of 2025.

TORIZON DIVE DEEP WITH EMOTIONAL SINGLE ‘CURRENTS’
Meanjin/Brisbane-based petalcore outfit Torizon release their dynamic new single ‘Currents’, produced and mixed by Kalen Austin, and mastered by Mike Kalajian at Rogue Planet Studios (Bad Omens, Windwaker, Papa Roach). The band will release their debut conceptual EP ‘Meliora’ on Friday, 19 September. Pre-order ‘Meliora’ HERE.
Serving as the third chapter in the story of characters Luna and Sam as they navigate the aftermath of a miscarriage, ‘Currents’ explores themes of grief and resilience. Delicate vocals float over finger-picked guitar before jagged riffs, orchestral layers, and dual vocals from frontwoman Mish Sharma and bassist Ben Gallaher crash in like waves. Cinematic choruses are balanced by moments of stillness with ocean sounds, strings and clean guitar, before building into a sweeping bridge leading to an epic finale. ‘Currents’ is both a cathartic release and a hopeful turning point disguised as a sing-along belter.
Torizon touch on the meaning behind ‘Currents’: “This track reflects the part where Luna is still in the undertow of grief, confronting trauma re-emergence after losing her baby. We used the ocean as a metaphor – those tidal pulls mirror trauma-formed neural pathways she has worked hard to rewire. The shoreline represents her healed self, the place she keeps returning to despite the challenges. ‘Currents’ will resonate with anyone who has dealt with PTSD and childhood trauma.”
Accompanying the release is a short, eye-grabbing video by Emerge Creative, shot at Colmslie Reserve, Mish’s home and Bunker Creative Studio in Meanjin/Brisbane. “You’ll see Luna holding an ultrasound of the baby she lost and reflecting on childhood photos of her and Sam, which are the real photos of both actors from when they were kids,” Mish adds. “Just as we started shooting the beach scenes, two dogs on a walk came running towards us, so naturally we stopped to play fetch and pat the puppies every time they came by.”
Earlier this year, Torizon released singles ‘Bloom’ and ‘Sober’, which were warmly embraced by Music Feeds, AAA Backstage, Ramona Magazine, The Music, and HEAVY Mag. ‘Bloom’ clocked over 10,000 Spotify streams in the first week of release and was added to Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock editorial playlist. The tracks also received support from triple j, Unearthed and Australian Community Radio stations such as 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide, Edge Radio, 2SER, 2XX FM, and PBS FM.
In the live arena, Torizon have packed hometown headline shows and shared stages with Circles, Valhalore, The Last Martyr, Days Like These, These Four Walls, Aurateque and NTH RD. This October, the band will bring their high-impact performances to the East Coast for their first-ever headline tour. Joined by Naarm/Melbourne’s alt-metal outfit New Million, the tour will stop in Eora/Sydney, Naarm/Melbourne, and Meanjin/Brisbane and will also feature local, heavy acts from each city. Tickets are available at torizon.band.

DREAMKILLERS Brisbane Legends Drop Scathing New Single, Close Down The Circus
Sign To XMusic For Release of New EP Coming January 2026.
Brisbane’s long running, uncompromising metal-punk juggernaut Dreamkillers have returned with their first music in half a decade!
“Close Down the Circus” is a scathing indictment of modern Australian politics, a raw and unfiltered response to a nation in crisis. As the cost of living skyrockets, homelessness surges and essential services like healthcare and food become increasingly out of reach, the promised “better future” has collapsed into a cruel joke.
The track tears into the bloated political machine, calling out a sea of broken promises and the growing disconnect between those in power and the people they claim to represent.
The metaphor is clear. Australia has become a circus, a chaotic sideshow run by clowns in suits.
And it is time to shut it down.
This is not just protest.
It is a wake-up call.

**********
A relentless force in the underground scene, Dreamkillers are known for their raw intensity, genre-defying sound, and fiercely DIY ethos. Fusing Thrash, English punk and Melodic Metal into a sonic assault that is both unrelenting and emotionally charged, while still maintaining a surprising sing-along quality, Dreamkillers continue to evolve without compromise
With a career spanning decades and a legacy that has inspired countless acts, their reputation as an electrifying live band has earned them spots alongside national and international heavyweights, all while staying true to their roots, authentic, loud and powerful.
This is not just a band releasing another record. It is a statement. A resurgence.
A call to arms for anyone who has ever felt silenced, crushed or cast aside.
Joining forces with Australia’s fastest growing rock label, XMusic, Dreamkillers will release the Proiphys Cunninghamii EP on January 23, 2026
A no-holds-barred eight-track EP that blends fire, fury and defiance in equal measure.
Named after a rare native plant found only in Brisbane, commonly known as the Brisbane lily, the title reflects the band’s roots and resilience — thriving in harsh conditions, unapologetically local, and impossible to ignore.
XMusic CEO Tim McLean-Smith adds, “XMusic are pumped and ready to start Dreamkillers next journey of new music. The music will blow your mind and can’t wait for their new run of live shows.”
Dreamkillers are here, stronger and louder than ever.
More tracks from the EP will be released soon

ALEIA Releases Gut-wrenching Single ‘Pretty When I Cry’
Rising Boorloo/Perth star ALEIA shares a piece of her heart with her second ever single ‘Pretty When I Cry’. Following her debut single ‘Had Your Fun’, ALEIA and her indie-folk/pop sound has captured the hearts of her listener base with her graceful vocals and the authenticity of a recovering romantic. Now, she returns with ‘Pretty When I Cry’, a deeply personal song that was specially co-written and produced by Dylan Ollivierre (The Money War, EDIE, Joan & The Giants, Siobhan Cotchin).
‘Pretty When I Cry’ builds on that authenticity and vulnerability that ALEIA has established with a heart-breaking, gut-wrenching ballad strummed on guitar. The track evolves with flourishes of delicate electric guitar, percussion and grounding keys, with each layer carefully introduced to mirror the emotional arc of the song.
As the arrangement swells, it lifts ALEIA’s raw, aching vocals to new heights, creating a powerful sense of catharsis. The instrumentation never overwhelms, instead, it cradles the lyrics with subtlety and care, allowing the heartbreak at the song’s core to shine through with devastating clarity.
ALEIA’s tender vocals and heartfelt harmonies carry the weight of longing as she confronts the pain of watching a relationship slowly crumble. She states:
“’Pretty When I Cry’ was written about the desperation of clinging to the believe someone has your best interests at heart when they don’t. When you have tell yourself a lie until you trust it as the truth, even when all the sign suggest otherwise.”
Let it all out with ‘Pretty When I Cry’, and prepare for more from ALEIA throughout the rest of 2025.

Introducing Joel Andrew B, a fresh voice in the Australian folk scene, set to release his second heartfelt single, ‘Something Between You and I’.
Joel Andrew B’s experiences range from solo performances at Nannup Music Festival and Nanga Music Festival, to the tour of his band Sixth Avenue across WA including supporting the likes of Ocean Alley and British India. With coverage by Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, Tone Deaf and Pile Rats, his time with Sixth Avenue has been an ace up his sleeve. His authentic, emotive sound is both an intimate and expansive blanket that shrouds the listener in powerful melodies and textured instrumentation.
‘Something Between You and I’ is his second solo single release and the follow-up to ‘For Now, but Not Always’. This new release is just as warm and distinct as his last single, but bursting with passion and intimacy.

Sunny Luwe Drops Feel-Good Single ‘Blue Skies’ And Announces Sophomore Album
‘Blue Skies’ Out Friday July 25 | Album Out October 10
Stream ‘Blue Skies’ | Watch ‘Blue Skies’
Three-time QLD Music Award finalist Sunny Luwe is back, announcing her sophomore album ‘Feeling Good’ along with ‘Blue Skies’, a radiant new single that celebrates the liberating joy of creating art for its own sake.
Blending R&B, pop, soul, and country, the track offers a refreshing soundscape of optimism, lightness, and authenticity, marking a powerful moment of artistic realignment for the Gold Coast-based artist.
The song was born from a personal turning point. Following the release of her debut album, Sunny found herself facing burnout, creatively and emotionally exhausted.
“I realised I had started chasing external gratification from likes, streams, validation, rather than staying connected to why I create music in the first place,” she explains. ‘Blue Skies’ became the soundtrack to her healing: a musical release of expectations, a return to joy, and creative freedom.
Originally penned as part of The Club in I Heart Songwriting Club, the track reflects the raw, intuitive energy that the songwriting group fosters. Sunny has since completed three consecutive terms in the program, using it as a space to rekindle her love for songwriting and push herself creatively.
The song later evolved and was produced in collaboration with Matthew Collins of Puppy Palace Studios, a long-time creative partner whose production brings warmth, depth, and playful energy to the track. Together, they honed the sound into a rich, genre-fusing groove that uplifts and inspires.
The accompanying music video, created with award-winning videographer Alisha Todd, adds a vibrant visual expression to the track’s central theme: letting go and embracing the moment. The project was supported by the City of Gold Coast’s Professional Placement Program, offering an opportunity for two celebrated Gold Coast artists to collaborate and bring their shared creative vision to life.
The release of ‘Blue Skies’ also marks the official announcement of Sunny Luwe’s forthcoming album ‘Feeling Good’, set for release on Friday, October 10. The record captures a new chapter for Sunny, one defined by creative renewal, self-trust, and a return to making music that feels good in the soul.
With ‘Blue Skies’, Sunny Luwe reminds us that joy can be a radical act, and that the truest measure of success is how art makes us feel.

MABEL RELEASES SELF-TITLED MIXTAPE + SHARES NEW FOCUS TRACK ‘TURN ME UP’
BRIT award-winning artist Mabel releases her self-titled mixtape Mabel, including new focus track ‘Turn Me Up’, out now via Polydor Records.
The mixtape marks a bold reintroduction to the BRIT award-winning artist, offering a raw and unfiltered statement of who Mabel is today. Recorded over the past few months, largely at her home studio, the 9-track mixtape features a number of close collaborators, including a verse from Clavish and production by Oscar Scheller (PinkPantheress, Shygirl), Arthur Bean (Central Cee) and more. Blending multiple genres and reconnecting with her acclaimed earlier sound, the project captures the full spectrum of Mabel’s artistry and identity.
Speaking about the mixtape, Mabel said: “This mixtape being self-titled is an important moment for me because it feels like a reintroduction. It’s the first time since the very beginning of my career that I’ve felt this free making music and the project is a beautifully chaotic blend of all the things that make me who I am. When writing it I reflected a lot on my ten years in the industry and the tape ended up being a somewhat toxic love letter to the ups, downs and in between of everything I’ve experienced. I hope that when people listen to this project they truly get to know me better!”
The project includes previous singles ‘Benz’ ft. Clavish, ‘January 19’ and ‘Love Me Gentle’, as well as new focus track ‘Turn Me Up’. Produced by Oscar Scheller, the standout track is a dreamy, guitar-led cut laced with hypnotic riffs and deep, crashing percussion. Mabel glides effortlessly over the woozy production with understanded confidence. Speaking about ‘Turn Me Up’, Mabel added: “This track is definitely my favourite on the mixtape. It’s about the imperfect side of relationships and meeting your match for better or for worse!”
Mabel’s self-titled mixtape marks her first project since 2022’s studio album ‘About Last Night…’ and follows a string of critically acclaimed singles over the last year including, ‘All Over You’ ft. King Promise, ‘Vitamins’, ‘Stupid Dumb’ ft. Ty Dolla Sign and ‘Chat’.
Later this year, Mabel will embark on the ‘Right On Time’ UK and European headline tour, her first tour since 2020.
ABOUT MABEL
Mabel, born Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, is one of the UK’s brightest popstars. She has amassed twelve top 20 singles with hits like ‘Don’t Call Me Up’, ‘My Lover’ and ‘Fine Line’, two UK top 3 albums and won Best Female Solo at the BRITs. Mabel released her platinum-selling debut album High Expectations in 2019 – the biggest-selling debut by a British woman that year. Released in 2022, Mabel’s sophomore album About Last Night became her highest charting release to date, debuting at number two on the Official Charts and received critical acclaim from the likes of NME, The Observer and DIY. Mabel has now surpassed over 4.5 billion streams, and 8 million singles sold worldwide. She has also graced the cover of numerous publications including British GQ, Glamour, ES Mag and more.

ELIZA HULL PENS GLOBAL PUBLISHING DEAL WITH SONY MUSIC PUBLISHING AND REIMAGINES SILVERCHAIR’S TOMORROW
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Eliza Hull announces that she has signed a global publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing Australia.
She says of the signing, “It’s a dream come true to work with the team at Sony Music Publishing. They deeply understand my songwriting and my advocacy.”
Dan Palm (Head of Licensing & Synch) at SMP adds , “It has been such a privilege to collaborate and work alongside Eliza on a number of projects recently and we couldn’t be more excited to officially welcome her to the Sony Music Publishing family. Eliza is an immensely talented artist, and her tireless advocacy work is inspiring and vitally important, particularly in striving for a more diverse and inclusive creative industry.”
To celebrate, Eliza unveils a bold new release, a haunting reimagining of Silverchair’s 1995 classic Tomorrow (D. Johns & B. Gillies), and the first sync placement since the partnership with Sony Music Publishing. Eliza was invited to cover Tomorrow for the trailer of the new Paramount+ television series Playing Gracie Darling, streaming from August 14. Eliza’s haunting rendition of Tomorrow sets the tone for the show’s haunting and emotional atmosphere.
Originally an explosive anthem of teen frustration, Eliza has transformed the song into a spacious, emotionally rich track. This truly powerful reinterpretation speaks to themes of inequality and systemic power.
Eliza says “Reimagining Silverchair’s Tomorrow means so much to me, not just as an artist, but as someone who grew up feeling at times inadequate and different. As a young person, this song helped me make sense of the world around me, music was often an escape, and I remember feeling the power of the lyrics. They feel as poignant as ever, in a time when we are seeing greed and money continue to take hold. To now be an artist performing this iconic track feels like a powerful full-circle moment – especially because Daniel Johns recently shared my song Running Underwater on his social media, the first I ever wrote about having a disability. I loved reimagining Tomorrow, and when recording it, felt a new level of emotion that I didn’t expect, I actually burst into tears.”
Daniel Johns sharing Eliza’s music on his social media, was an early endorsement that reaffirmed Eliza’s belief in herself.
Produced by Pip Norman (Baker Boy, Missy Higgins), additional production and arrangement by James McGuffie, with lush string arrangements by renowned composer Erkki Veltheim (Gurrumul, Kate Miller-Heidke, Emily Wurramara) piano by Luke Howard and drums by Leigh Fisher (Angus and Julia Stone, Missy Higgins), this new version strips the song back to its bare bones. Eliza’s soaring vocals paired with the atmospheric production gives Tomorrow a meditative weight, exposing new meaning in its lyrics almost three decades after its debut.
Tomorrow continues a streak of recent career highlights for Eliza, including supporting Sarah Blasko’s regional tour and a successful co-writing trip to London where she wrote with Liam Howe (Lana Del Rey), Brett Shaw (Florence & The Machine), James Knight (Ellie Goulding, The Kooks), Tom Iansek (Big Scary) and several other successful writing sessions for her upcoming record.
With more music on the horizon for 2025, Eliza shows no signs of slowing down as she continues to evolve as one of Australia’s most vital and visionary voices.
Eliza Hull’s ‘Tomorrow’ is now available on all major streaming platforms.
