MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: THE GUITAR SHOW IS COMING TO SYDNEY

The Australian Music Association has produced the Melbourne Guitar Show, the largest showcase event for musical instruments in Australia, for the past decade and is continuing to produce the event after a successful move to Melbourne Showgrounds in 2025. The Melbourne event will be held every second year, with planning underway to return on the 13th–14th March 2027. However, this now allows Sydney guitar fans to enjoy the SYDNEY GUITAR SHOW from March 7-8 at the Sydney Showgrounds in 2026!
Since its launch in 2015 at Caulfield Racecourse, the Melbourne Guitar Show has grown into a flagship event for the local music industry and the wider guitar community. More than just an exhibition, it has become a celebration of Australian guitar culture—bringing together players, collectors, manufacturers, retailers, and some of the finest local and international talent. Across its history, the show has featured unforgettable performances and masterclasses from guitar icons such as Tommy Emmanuel, Albert Lee, Eric Bibb, Steve Hackett, Diesel, Sarah McLeod, Lloyd Spiegel, Phil Manning, Brett Garsed and so many more, alongside hundreds of exhibitors displaying the latest in guitars, amps, pedals, and music technology.
The move to Melbourne Showgrounds in 2025 marked a new chapter, expanding the event’s capacity for both exhibitors and audiences while preserving its vibrant mix of performances, product launches, gear demos, and educational workshops. For many, the Melbourne Guitar Show is not just a weekend marketplace but a meeting point for Australia’s guitar community—a place where aspiring players rub shoulders with their heroes, and where brands and artists forge lasting connections.
This strong legacy now presents an opportunity to create what many have long suggested and asked about: a SYDNEY GUITAR SHOW. After an extensive search for a suitable venue, Sydney Showgrounds has been chosen for its facilities, location, public transport and parking accessibility, and its reputation as one of the city’s premier event destinations. Exhibition Hall 5—opposite the stadium and next to the Dome, just around the corner from Olympic Park train station—offers multiple spaces, a large main hall with room to grow, easy access for patrons and exhibitors, and a perfect foundation for the show’s expansion.

Tickets will be on sale later in 2025 alongside the program announcement. Exhibitor bookings commence on 1st September 2025, with a month of priority access for AMA members.
