WOLFGANG VAN HALEN’S MAMMOTH Releases Third Song “I Really Wanna”
Third Album The End, Set for Release on October 24

GRAMMY® Award-nominated songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Wolfgang Van Halen is back with the third track from his upcoming studio album, The End. “I Really Wanna” comes on the heels of Active Rock #1 single “The End” and the newly released single, “The Spell.” The instant grat track “I Really Wanna” is a funky rocker that showcases Wolfgang’s unique feel and technique on every instrument.

A music video for the song is also being released that shows Wolfgang playing in the iconic 5150 studio where the song was recorded. The song was produced by friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette.

Scheduled for release on October 24, Mammoth returns with The End via label home BMG. The 10-track album clocks in at 39-minuttes and showcases the evolution of Wolf and his songwriting since he launched his solo career in 2020. Continuing the tradition of writing all the songs and performing all the instrumentation and vocals himself, Wolfgang Van Halen set out to challenge himself beyond what he did on his debut and second release, Mammoth II.

From the hypnotic opening of “One Of A Kind” to infectious closer “All In Good Time,” Wolfgang demonstrates his proficiency as a musician and songwriter. Songs like “Same Old Song,” “Happy,” and “Selfish” will fit perfectly alongside older songs that fans have already come to love from Mammoth. Mammoth released their first single in May which featured a landmark music video – a remake of the classic film From Dusk ‘Til Dawn – directed by Robert Rodriguez and Greg Nicotero. The video has received over 5-million views and contains cameos from Danny Trejo, Slash, Myles Kennedy, and of course his mother Valerie Bertinelli. Mammoth also released the new single “The Spell”.

MASSIVE LINEUP DROPS FOR VALLEY FIESTA

Brisbane’s biggest free street party Valley Fiesta returns on Saturday 11 October 2025, taking over Fortitude Valley with an unmissable celebration of live music.
Hockey Dad, Brisbane’s own Sycco and Keli Holiday (of ARIA-winning duo Peking Duk) lead this year’s electric lineup.

They will be joined by rising stars TYDE, winner of the 2025 QUBE Effect Lord Mayor’s Live Event Award, who will open the Brunswick Street Main Stage from 4pm.

Now in its 29th year, Valley Fiesta transforms the city’s iconic entertainment precinct with 26 national and local acts across two main stages in the Brunswick Street and Valley Malls. DJ sets will also take over Winn Lane, keeping the beats going from 2pm till late.

With a free program and something for everyone, Valley Fiesta is the perfect opportunity for visitors and residents to get out and embrace Brisbane’s unmatched lifestyle.

SUDAN ARCHIVES – NEW SONG ‘COME AND FIND YOU’ OUT NOW. NEW ALBUM THE BPM OUT ON STONES THROW OCTOBER 17TH

In the lead-up to her third album THE BPM, Sudan Archives releases “COME AND FIND YOU”, a heartfelt song about chasing a lover as she seeks connection and intimacy. Where earlier singles “DEAD”, “MY TYPE” and “MS. PAC MAN” were raucous, dance-centric party starters, “COME AND FIND YOU” sees Sudan Archives firmly in her Afropop bag, with soaring vocals and searing violin playing front and centre. The new track was produced by Ben Dickey and Sudan Archives, and features live drumming from Dutch mad scientist ZEP.

On THE BPM, Sudan Archives moves with style and grace through her most expressive, extroverted record yet. She adopted a new persona for the album, the technologically-enhanced Gadget Girl, to imagine a dazzling, chrome-plated future in which we’re all tapped into our own sense of rhythm. “No one can take away your rhythm from you – no one can take away your self-will,” she explains. The ideas she explores on the record all ultimately draw back to this one idea. “All those things can be your own power if you utilize them right.”

Sudan Archives executive produced the album, working with a close circle of friends, family and trusted collaborators, and recorded it in Chicago, Detroit, and Los Angeles. The one exception to the friends-and-family rule was inviting Chicago-based Black chamber music collective D-Composed to put together a string quartet for the anthemic string parts.

“COME AND FIND YOU” was built around a loop made by one of Sudan Archives’ stylists, Umesi, which she then turned into a beat in real time. Later, another friend added drums; the resulting track is a sexy, effortless flirtation where Sudan uses her elastic vocals to convey steadfast confidence. This approach speaks to her fully realized self-determination on THE BPM: sometimes, being fully in tune with yourself means ceding space to others and knowing how to bring out the best in the people around you. As she directed and conducted the talented crew around her, Sudan Archives brought out the best in herself, a gadget girl who’s taken yet another monumental step forward with THE BPM – the kind of leap you can only make when you trust your instincts, trust the people around you, and lock into your own rhythm.

BOOTLEG RASCAL REVEAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘SAPPHIRE BOOGIE’ PLUS ADDITIONAL NZ TOUR DATES

Following the release of their taster track ‘Sapphire Boogie’, Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based band, Bootleg Rascal, have just unveiled the accompanying music video – directed and shot by Hamish Stephen (Freddy Crabs, Danté Knows).

Shot at Good Loco Studios (Eora/Marrickville) and Websters Bar (Eora/Newtown), the clip embraces the track’s cocaine-cowboy aesthetic, following two city-slicker “cowboys” from a night of whiskey and line dancing into dream-like sequences that oscillate between euphoria and unease. With the use of green screen, strobe and slow-shutter techniques, it mirrors the song’s rustic guitars and groove-driven riffs, ultimately transporting viewers into a surreal realm.

Guitarist Jimmy Young describes the motivation behind the clip:

“‘Sapphire Boogie’ was born on a writing trip to Sapphire Beach, and it felt like the perfect setting for a track that blurs reality a little. We’d been listening to Paul Cauthen’s Cocaine Country Dancing and loved that wild, cocaine-cowboy energy, so we ran with it – leaning into the imagery and letting it shape the vibe of the song and video. For us, it’s about that point where a night out shifts from ordinary to otherworldly, and you’re not quite sure if you’ve stumbled into heaven, hell, or just the land of boogie.”

Off the back of a relentless touring schedule in 2025, the band will embark on an expansive Australian and New Zealand tour, featuring a mix of free entry shows, ticketed events, and headlining festivals Oktoberfest at Polytech Stadium, and Dunedin Beer Festival at Forsyth Barr Stadium. The band have also just added two additional shows in Ōtautahi/Christchurch and Tāhuna/Queenstown for their New Zealand leg.

This follows on from their nationwide Australian ‘BOOTY BLOCK PARTY’ tour and tremendous ‘Steppin Round The World’ tour of New Zealand, and the UK/EU, including stops in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and England. Additionally, they’ve played festivals such as Salty Hops, Live At The Pines, Winter Wine, and Spaced Out, and supported reggae legends Steel Pulse (UK).

“Tucked away in a folder of old cleo demos is where I found GUTS. The demo was rad, but for whatever reason the song had never gone anywhere,” shares vocalist and guitarist Luke Gruntz. “Still buzzing from the tour we had just finished, I could see something in it that I hadn’t before. Restless and buckled into my seat, soaring over the Atlantic, I made a plan to finish the song and get it out before we hit the road again.”

Gruntz continues, “It wasn’t the only song I rediscovered on that flight. Ian and I have spent the summer shaping these lost media scraps into something very special – a timeline bending new project that we can’t wait to share with the world. More on that soon. Until then, here is GUTS. A song salvaged from the circuitry. Pulled back from the quiet decay of ones and zeroes just before it could fade into the static of memory.”

Australian rock icons Hoodoo Gurus are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their landmark second album Mars Needs Guitars! with a stunning Deluxe 2LP reissue, giving fans a chance to rediscover one of the most beloved records in Australian rock history.

Originally released on 8 March 1985, Mars Needs Guitars! cemented the Gurus’ reputation as one of the most influential guitar bands of the era, delivering unforgettable hits including Bittersweet, Like Wow – Wipeout! and Death Defying.

The 40th Anniversary Deluxe 2LP Edition features:

BOYS LIKE GIRLS RELEASE THE HOMECOMING (LIVE FROM THE MGM MUSIC HALL AT FENWAY PARK) LIVE ALBUM AND CONCERT FILM

In 2023, alt-pop powerhouse BOYS LIKE GIRLS made a long-awaited return with Sunday At Foxwoods, their first album in over a decade.

The record is a beautiful meeting of their melody-driven pop anthems delivered with the maturity of a band that had many years of growth in between. It served as a bold reintroduction that resonated with a new generation of listeners, while igniting the hearts of longtime fans.

After writing and producing for artists like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Jason Derulo, frontman and songwriter Martin Johnson brought a sharpened pen and a deeper sense of purpose back to the mic.

With renewed energy, the band performed a sold-out show to 5,000 fans on October 26, 2023 on their hometown stage at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park.

The 120-minute set was filmed and captured BLG in their most natural state — on the stage and in front of fans in unfiltered, electric, and unforgettable fashion.

Ahead of the album release, the band hosted a premiere of the live concert film for an intimate gathering of lucky winner at Brain Dead Studios on Fairfax last Friday, September 5. The full film is now available to view via YouTube and Veeps.

About the live album, Johnson previously stated: “Fenway Park. The shrine. The cathedral of Boston. Where curses broke, where beers were spilled, where you can feel the city’s heartbeat under green tin and red clay. You don’t just visit Fenway — you belong to it. I was baptized in peanut shells and piss-warm Bud Light. I sat in seats older than my grandfather’s bad decisions and prayed to the church of Big Papi. It was ours. And then… they dug under it. Right into the bones of Lansdowne Street — into the bedrock of garage bands, bar fights, and rat nests the size of golden retrievers. They carved out the MGM Music Hall like a secret lair, a rebel bunker under the battlefield.

“I came up with a generation raised on Dunkin’ Donuts and driven half-mad by traffic on Storrow Drive. We were kids with guitars slung over our backs like bayonets, howling through rusted-out PA systems in the backrooms of American Legions, screaming songs into the linoleum void of church basements while the Sox blew another lead in the 7th. We grew up in the shadow of the Big Dig — a $22 billion pothole we all paid for with our sanity — swallowing granite and history, trying to make room for a future nobody asked for. But under all that concrete? Something was rumbling.

“We were born in abandoned warehouse practice spaces in Haverhill humidity, Charlestown cold, and Taunton’s forgotten back alleys where the floorboards creaked like old Fenway seats and the walls sweated ambition and mildew. Nights under buzzing lights, sleeping above tanning salons, hustling out of the back of Southie dance studios while the Red Line screamed overhead like it knew something we didn’t. This wasn’’ L.A. This wasn’t Brooklyn with its oat milk and self-awareness. This was Boston — revolutionary blood in the bricks, blue-collar fists in the drywall, a city that builds bands like it builds bridges: loud, stubborn, and willing to fall apart a few times before getting it right.

“We played Knights of Columbus halls and churches in Allston packed with sweaty teenagers who still believed in anthems. We got hit with beer bottles and baseballs outside Bill’s Bar. Those anthems carried us around the world a hundred times and back again. And then… twelve years of silence. No encores. No curtain calls. Just echoes.

“But now — we’re back. Back where it started. Under the lights in Fenway’s guest house, on a stage built for second chances. A stage for believers and for the ones who never left the pit. ALTER BRIDGE Release First Track “Silent Divide” from Upcoming Self-Titled Album, Out January 9

On the heels of the excitement from the recent announcements of their upcoming eighth studio album and their Blackbird festival in Wales next year, acclaimed rockers ALTER BRIDGE are releasing the first piece of music in over two years, “Silent Divide.” The track from the quartet, comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums, shows the band is back and ready to pick up where they left off in 2023. The brooding track begins with the signature guitar tones of Kennedy and Tremonti before the rhythm section of Marshall and Phillips join in. The chorus is powered by Kennedy’s haunting descent as he sings: “Keep your head down, ride out the silent divide.”

A music video for “Silent Divide” is also available today that the band has been teasing for days. A comedic opening skit was released of Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips calling Kennedy’s mom to get the band back together as Myles hangs in his mom’s basement. With more than two decades performing together, ALTER BRIDGE show no signs of slowing down. I sang Japanese lyrics inspired by and based on the original lyrics of “The End,” and spent a lot of time experimenting to figure out what kind of voice would best suit such a deep, cool track. My favorite part of the song is the flow from the section starting with “Negai o kakete” right after the chorus into the break — I loved how my voice gradually got covered and engulfed by Ivan’s growl, which gave me chills. WILLIAM ALEXANDER .WILD ROAN BRUMBY (SINGLE)

We are very excited to share with everyone the new single from Australian balladeer William Alexander! ‘Wild Roan Brumby’ is the second release from Alexander’s upcoming album (due in 2026) and it really picks up the pace! Written by William and his good mate, country singer Pete Denahy. Penned about a real horse who, having been born wild in the NSW high country, has lived and worked with William since he was caught as a yearling.

The pair formed a quick bond and spent every single day together from their first meeting. A few years later the young brumby was introduced to stock work and mustering on various properties throughout NSW. To this day, the young brumby and his singing stockman are still together. And this song pays homage to their mateship and why Alexander considers him the best horse he’ll ever have.

Lindsay Waddington returns to the producer chair with another fantastic example of their recording partnership. William and Waddo first got together with William being the recipient of the 2025 Thornton Young Award.

Singer-songwriter Georgia Mulligan has today revealed her sophomore album, Unheaven. A rich and transformative record, Unheaven is a body of work that holds the listener close. Touching on themes of loss, estrangement, fear and the many faces of love, Unheaven is a celebration of resilience which emerged at the intersection of daily life and creative practice.

Sonically, the record is a graceful blend of styles and sounds, encompassing indie rock, folk and pop; weaving them effortlessly together with Georgia’s bewitching vocals and powerful command of language. With the Sydney artist taking inspiration from fellow creatives such as PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding and Nick Cave, the result is a stunning body of work, primed for fans of Merpire, Courtney Barnett and Julia Jacklin.

Following the release of her 2023 debut Nothing Wrong, Mulligan felt stuck in a loop. Starting to write again was the way forward.

“With the encouragement of my heroes (those I love) I carved out some time for the shapes of the songs to appear out of the depths, sat by the water’s edge and played a few up to the surface. Some didn’t flow so easily, they needed trimming (or hacking) and suturing back together. “

Recorded across the Summer of 2024/25 at Golden Retriever Studios with additional recording at Rancom Street Studios, the album came together with musical contributions from Sydney music heavyweights Clayton Allen (drums & percussion), Maia Jelavic (lead guitar), Grace Turbo (piano) & Blain Cunneen (production, bass, keys, guitar).

Georgia Mulligan has cut her teeth sharing stages with the likes of Phantastic Ferniture, Nadia Reid, Angie McMahon, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys, Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird and countless others, performing also as a member of Julia Jacklin’s touring band. London-based, Australian-born producer, songwriter and DJ, HAAi (aka Teneil Throssell) edges closer to the release of her second studio album, HUMANiSE, with the release of a new track, ‘Stitches’.

The new album – an immense evolution from her acclaimed debut – reckons with what it is to be human in an increasingly digital world, as AI threatens to eclipse everything and our screens separate us from each other. In all of her work, Teneil has always sought to conquer new frontiers in electronic music, and on the new album, she’s drilling deeper into the grid to deliver an ambitious and thrilling epic: embodying a sonic step up, exploring the sweet spot between machine-led dystopia and emotion-filled utopia.

“Throughout the album, I kept thinking about a machine with a human heart,” she says. Where previously she’s been hidden by a laptop, or obscured behind the decks, more recently she was, “inspired to return to my songwriting roots and use my voice more in my own music.” Vocals are stunningly delicate and give a newfound dimension to her kinetic productions. “It took a long time to get there, it’s such a vulnerable thing to do,” she continues, “but for this album, it was important for me to allow this ‘human heart’ to be front and centre.”

The human heart has another focus on the album: unity and community. HAAi explains, “Even though HUMANiSE is about how the world is starting to change beyond our control, it’s important to keep a sense of togetherness and hope.” These ideas of community and a sense of belonging is of utmost importance, and she has returned to work with friends including Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, singer Obi Franky and rapper KAM-BU, artist Kaiden Ford, as well as poet James Massiah, who guests on ‘All That Falls Apart’, and two choirs: TRANS VOICES with choir leader ILĀ and a gospel choir led by Wendi Rose. But this is no clique, the community she surrounds herself with is inclusive, with ample space for the listener on a journey where you are suspended in dreamlike euphoria, drawing the most human part of you to the surface – the part where nothing matters more than family, friends, and togetherness.

Adelaide’s NORMAL BEHAVIOUR serves up new single ‘FAMOUS’

Leaning into a musical energy that blends both rock and indie in good measure, Adelaide’s NORMAL BEHAVIOUR has struck up a strong local following that has put them on the map as an act to watch in recent years. Raw honesty and an unfiltered approach to songwriting has already produced memorable music from the South Australians and as they step further into 2025, Normal Behaviour returns to take it up another level.

With new single ‘Famous’, the group bring the pulsating, emotional core of their rock songwriting together with an undeniably catchy arrangement that ensures the song remains with the listener, playback after playback.

‘Famous’ came together as part of a touchstone year for Normal Behaviour. Embarking on their first tour of North America in 2024 opened their eyes to the sheer level of opportunities that were open to them and as a result, redefined the vision they had in place for the project. During the tail end of the tour while spending some time in LA, the debut Normal Behaviour album was born.

Of their new single, Normal Behaviour explains, “We wrote this song fully aware of what it sounds like: a massive, catchy single. But underneath that, it’s about that moment when you realise you’ve been chasing the wrong thing for years. It’s about watching people around you ‘make it’ and wondering what any of it even means anymore. Ironically, the song is probably our most ‘hit-worthy’ release yet.

The production is crisp but raw, with live drums, the occasional sprinkle of production around the edges. The track is upbeat but never feels rushed. Lyrically, it’s bold and pokes fun at itself: “I just wanna be / Alone among the leaves / The crowd is after me / I’m so desperate.” Now all 27, the members of Normal Behaviour are approaching music with clearer eyes. ‘Famous’ isn’t just a song, it’s a mirror held up to the version of success we thought we needed, and a reminder of the joy we’ve already found in creating music together in bedrooms with our best mates.” NORMAL BEHAVIOUR

Prolific metal band Fit For An Autopsy will return to Australia in January 2026. The New Jersey heavyweights will be joined by Florida’s Bodysnatcher, rising Australian force Volatile Ways and Pain Body – uniting for one of the most crushing line-ups to hit Australian stages in years.

Fit For An Autopsy also deliver an unrelenting standalone single, perfectly titled “It Comes For You”. The track is an aggressive, full-throttle journey right out of the gate; masterfully blending the band’s older sound with the high-caliber production and songwriting that has become a hallmark of Fit For An Autopsy. “It Comes For You” was recorded earlier this year at Graphic Nature Audio in Kinnelon NJ with the bands own Will Putney handling the production, mixing and mastering. British singer-songwriter, composer, and producer Nick Mulvey announces his fifth studio album Dark Harvest Part 2, set for release Friday October 24.

Mercury Prize-shortlisted British singer-songwriter, composer and producer Nick Mulvey today reveals the second single from his second album of 2025, Dark Harvest (Pt. 2) is set for release on Friday October 24 via his own label Supernatural Records.

The latest single ‘Supernatural Healing’ reflects on the costs of endless searching and the clarity that comes from letting go. Born from years of restless exploration, the track captures the moment of surrender to a deeper current – a song of release, renewal, and finding peace beyond the chase.

“Someone once said to me “Nick, you’ll never find the water when you’re digging in many shallow wells”. I don’t remember who this person was but I’m grateful to them because they planted a seed in me, one that would lay dormant for many years. Until recently” says Mulvey.

Having founded his own label, Supernatural Records, and distributing via AWAL, Nick is writing a new independent chapter in his story. For Dark Harvest, Nick reached out to some incredible collaborators to help him express his inner-most musings. Legendary producer Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini), the boundary-pushing Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Jon Hopkins), and the globally renowned Parisi Brothers (Ed Sheeran, Fred Again..), have all lent a hand in assisting Nick to actualise his intentions.

If Dark Harvest (Pt. 1). was the tilling of hard ground – songs born from upheaval, loss and searching – Dark Harvest (Pt. 2) is the first fruits of the harvest: intimate, defiant and unflinchingly hopeful. These ten tracks carry the quiet power of a life rebuilt, rooted in surrender and ripened in service.

The powerful conclusion to his two-part journey through grief, humility, and grace, the album follows an extraordinary year of touring to date with a sold out headline tour in the UK followed by appearances in Europe and a triumphantly packed Glastonbury performance this summer. On the horizon a headline tour in Ireland, mainland Europe and North America to close the year – followed by Australia in February 2026.

Musician, composer and producer, Nick Mulvey’s work pushes boundaries in songwriting and sound, in music both traditional and experimental, acoustic and electronic. With a unique path to success, Nick spent his early days studying Ethnomusicology in London, before becoming a founding member of the award-winning collective Portico Quartet. He left in 2011 to concentrate on his own material, and once solo, released the Mercury Prize shortlisted debut album First Mind in 2014. 2017’s celebrated Wake Up Now came next, along with a number of EPs. Mulvey’s latest offering was 2022’s New Mythology, recorded during the Covid 19 pandemic whilst in Paris. He now returns, refreshed and rejuvenated by the challenges and successes of his life over the last three years, with Dark Harvest (Pt. 1) and Dark Harvest (Pt.2 ).

Dark Harvest (Pt. 2) is Nick Mulvey at his most raw, radiant, and redemptive – a closing chapter that feels like a brand new beginning.

Spanning 61 tracks, Joni’s Jazz includes studio recordings, live performances, rare alternate takes and previously unreleased demos, and material drawn from multiple decades and record labels.

The set features contributions from some of Mitchell’s most important collaborators in jazz, among them Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Herbie Hancock, and Charles Mingus. Mitchell, who calls Shorter her favorite collaborator, dedicates the collection to him following his passing in 2023. “It was a joy to play with him,” she writes. “He will be missed, but he will remain alive for me in this music.”

Covering nearly every era of her recording career, the collection includes selections from Songs To A Seagull, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hejira, Mingus, Turbulent Indigo, Both Sides Now (a 2001 GRAMMY® Award winner), and more. It also features her guest appearances on projects like Hancock’s GRAMMY® Award-winning album, River: The Joni Letters.

Across the collection, the music follows Mitchell’s artistic growth — from the rhythmic layering of “Harry’s House / Centerpiece” to the bold experimentation of “The Jungle Line,” the narrative scale of “Paprika Plains,” and the airy, improvised feel of “A Chair In The Sky.”

It draws from more than five decades of Mitchell’s recordings, going back to 1968 for “Marcie,” from Song To A Seagull. The most recent is her performance of “Summertime,” recorded live at the 2023 Newport Folk Festival. It marked Mitchell’s first full-length concert in over two decades — a powerful return that resonated around the world.

As a self-portrait in sound, Joni’s Jazz captures an artist in conversation with jazz over a lifetime — never imitating, always inventing. Last year, in the liner notes for Joni Mitchell Archives – Vol. 4, she joked, “People ask me my favorite of my albums, it’s going to be Joni’s Jazz.” Now it is.
