One of electronic music’s most in-demand names, KETTAMA today releases his long-awaited debut album Archangel, via Steel City Dance Discs. The release marks a career-defining moment for the Galway-born, London-based producer and DJ, arriving alongside news that his upcoming tour has completely sold out.
A decade in the making, Archangel stands as the definitive artistic statement from Evan Campbell, showcasing the raw energy, emotional weight and genre-blurring sound that has propelled him to the forefront of contemporary club culture. Across fifteen tracks, the album fuses hard-house power, trance-inflected euphoria, breakbeat nostalgia and hip-hop grit into a body of work that feels as comfortable in underground basements as it does on festival main stages. Collaborations with Interplanetary Criminal, Fred again.., Clouds, DJ HEARTSTRING, Prospa, Shady Nasty, SØLV and seantommy further expand its scope, underscoring KETTAMA’s relevance across both the underground and mainstream.
Already home to standout singles, Archangel has produced some of the most talked-about tracks of the year. ‘Yosemite’ with Interplanetary Criminal delivered a speed-garage anthem packed with rave euphoria, while ‘Air Maxes’ with Fred again.. and Shady Nasty channelled introspective emotion into widescreen club catharsis. ‘If U Want My Heart’ alongside DJ HEARTSTRING and KLP pushed trance, breakbeats and soaring vocals into an ecstatic peak-time moment, and ‘Sort It Out’ with Clouds captured dark, industrial techno energy built for warehouse dance floors. Perhaps the most definitive is ‘It Gets Better (Forever Mix)’ which has already become one of the summer’s undeniable anthems, heard on dance floors worldwide.
The album arrives during a landmark year for KETTAMA. He has performed across the globe at Coachella, Glastonbury, Creamfields, Portola, Seismic and ARC Festival, while holding down a sixteen-week residency at Ibiza’s Amnesia. In June, he played to 20,000 people in Belfast with Chris Stussy, while anticipation for his recently released Boiler Room set has reached fever pitch, with over 15,000 fans signing up to attend. Support from key tastemakers across Australian radio including triple j, Dance Hits, NOVA Nation, plus UK’s Jack Saunders, Danny Howard, Sarah Story and Tim Sweeney; has further underlined his breakout moment, while viral snippets and show footage continue to fuel a fast-growing global fanbase across social platforms.
From his roots in the Irish underground to sold-out shows across the world, KETTAMA’s ascent has been anything but conventional. Building his reputation through SoundCloud, TikTok and a string of raw, viral edits, he has bypassed traditional industry gatekeepers to cultivate a fiercely loyal following. With Archangel, he takes the sound of his native G-Town to new heights, cementing his position as one of the most vital, uncompromising and forward-thinking voices in electronic music today.
KETTAMA is set to headline London’s Brixton Academy on October 3rd and returns to Australia for our summer festival season, this time as headliner for Beyond The Valley, Lost Paradise and Wildlands.
