AUSTIN MACKAY RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘PRETTY LITTLE THING CALLED JANE’
Newcastle-born singer-songwriter Austin Mackay returns with his electrifying new single, ‘Pretty Little Thing Called Jane,’ a modern country-rock anthem that captures the wild, reckless thrill of falling for someone you can’t quite pin down.
Recorded live at The Grove Studios with renowned producer Jackson Barclay, the track blends the storytelling soul of folk with the grit and swagger of country-rock: a sound that’s quickly become Mackay’s signature.
“‘Pretty Little Thing Called Jane’ came from that feeling of being completely drawn to someone who’s unpredictable and a little untameable,” Mackay shares. “It’s about the kind of lust that’s messy and exciting. The sort that keeps you guessing. We recorded it live to chase that same energy in the room”.
Following a breakout year that’s seen him perform to over 25,000 people across the U.S. and Australia/NZ supporting Max McNown (USA), touring internationally with Jackson Dean (USA), and appearing at major festivals including Howlin’ Country, Savannah in the Round, Gympie Music Muster and an invitation to perform at Nashville’s CMA Fest, Mackay continues to cement his place as one of Australia’s most exciting new voices in the contemporary country landscape.
Drawing comparisons to Chris Stapleton, John Mayer and Gregory Alan Isakov, Mackay’s music is grounded in authenticity, emotion and connection. ‘Pretty Little Thing Called Jane’ captures that in full force.
‘Pretty Little Thing Called Jane’ is out now on all streaming platforms.

LOCAL THE NEIGHBOUR confronts belief and identity on powerful new single Preacher
Local the Neighbour returns with his compelling new single Preacher, a striking exploration of identity, memory and the shadows that shape us. The Melbourne/Naarm based project of musician David Quested continues to rise with growing industry acclaim and a distinctively raw storytelling voice, following a remarkable run of achievements including international radio support from KEXP, RADIOK770 and WNRN, editorial praise from Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Mixdown and Frankie, and national spins across Triple J Unearthed, Double J and FBi Radio. As he enters a new creative era, Preacher stands as one of his most vulnerable and sonically assured releases yet.
With DIY at its core, his music is self recorded alongside close friends and influenced by artists such as Alex G, MJ Lenderman, Hovvdy and Slow Pulp. Built around swirling guitars, intimate vocals and a slow burning emotional intensity, Preacher captures the tension between childhood beliefs and adult self discovery.
This track represents a powerful moment of reflection for David as he revisits formative experiences that shaped the person and artist he has become. It is a release that deepens his artistic voice while connecting to the same confessional energy that has earned Local the Neighbour support for previous projects including Spotify editorials such as indie twang USA, Fresh Finds and Wire, and Apple Music playlists including indie plus chill, New in Indie and New in Rock.
Preacher is a song about religious trauma and the feeling of growing away from something that once felt familiar. It unpacks the unease of returning to memories that once provided comfort but now sit at odds with the person he has grown into. The single marks one of his most honest lyrical moments, built from lived experience rather than observation.
“I grew up going to church as a kid and had a pretty good time for the most part. However, as I grew up, I really started to question a lot of things, in particular the types of people I would find myself around.”
Local the Neighbour is the creative project of David Quested, a Melbourne based musician originally from Darwin in the Northern Territory. After moving to Naarm to study jazz drumming at the Victorian College of the Arts, he immersed himself deeply in the discipline before continuing his studies at the University of California Los Angeles under jazz greats Jeff Tain Watts, John Riley and Clayton Cameron. His early career saw him perform with ARIA winning jazz musicians and tour internationally as a session drummer, but an early quarter life crisis led him to a pivotal creative shift in which he chose to leave the jazz world and return to his first musical love rock music shaped by the bands he adored growing up such as Blink 182 and Paramore.
That decision opened the pathway to a new chapter of artistry. David began performing with artists including Fan Girl, JIM ALXNDR and Fletcher Gull, later joining the indie rock band Garage Sale as their new drummer. With Garage Sale he has toured the world, and has also played alongside artists like julie and Mannequin Pussy. Armed with years of musical training, community collaboration and a renewed sense of purpose, he created Local the Neighbour as a space to explore songwriting and production beyond the drum kit. His rapidly growing live profile has included supporting US indie icons Real Estate, performing at St Kilda Festival, and playing headline and support shows with local favourites Smol Fish, Swapmeet and Fangirl.
Preacher marks a new chapter in Local the Neighbour’s evolution and a bold reminder of the emotional depth and creative intention driving his work.

INDIE SHOEGAZE ARTIST SINGER. MATTRESS. CAT. SHARES DEBUT SOLO ALBUM SUBTROPICAL PERSONALITY
Australian shoegaze artist Singer. Mattress. Cat. shares his intimate lo-fi debut solo album Subtropical Personality out now. Led by Martin Cooke of cult favorite indie rock outfit Gaslight Radio, the new project is an ode to survival and meets the longtime musician where he is today as he positively reflects on the passage of time, hardship and failure. Plus, the artist shares “Nico Wanted to be a Drummer,” a personal tribute to an old friend.
Written over the last two years on NYC’s Lower East Side on an old acoustic guitar and recorded in Melbourne, the forthcoming lo-fi project cements the artist’s memories–the good and the bad–hidden in a subtext of humorous melancholy. Cooke shares, “The album is a homage to that wildness of my childhood and all the friends who turned to crime to survive. I am the one left holding the torch to tell their stories.”
As it documents his life and celebrates his failures, the artist reflects, “I have always lived by the notion that music, or any art form for that matter, should be about failing beautifully. Embrace your failures, for your success will be the death of your art. I have been failing forever. I would never have it any other way. As long as I like the stuff I write. And I guess that is all that really counts.”
Expanding on the album and modern times, the musician adds, “If Zohran Mamdani can become Mayor of New York City, then there’s hope for every DIY indie artist in the world,” and offers, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” the African proverb was also one of the inspirations for this album.”
Singer. Mattress. Cat. shares “Nico Wanted to be a Drummer” is a personal homage to an old friend, sharing it’s, “about a friend of mine (Zhangyao Chen) from China, and who was inspired by The Velvet Underground (Nico) Christa Päffgen, so she took Nico as her English name.”
With an ironic song title, the second single “Postcard Sort of Day,” explores the gig economy and short-end jobs, and the bond that can grow in a monotonous routine, even while daydreaming of a life beyond.
Listen: “Postcard Sort of Day”
The previously released “Little Broken Moon,” muses on the heartbreak of a first love, missed connections and leaving everything behind in order to grow. The song’s protagonist holds onto the memory of his former love with photos and mementos, coming to terms with its end. The Needle Drop wrote, “The track is a stripped-down ’90s lo-fi ditty reminiscent of Daniel Johnston, Sunset Rubdown, or even early Animal Collective.”
Martin Cooke formed indie rock band Gaslight Radio with his brother, Rory Cooke, in Queensland in 1995 to much acclaim and built a cult-like following. Australian Broadcast Company wrote the band’s music is, “restrained and anthemic” and features “woozy guitar lines, towering shards of distortion and enigmatic lyrics.” The group shared stages with The Breeders, Teenage Fan Club, Sparklehorse, Pavement, Spoon, Pulp, Yo La Tengo and more and soundtracked Armani’s campaign in winter 2015. Now, three decades later, the musician is ready to re-introduce himself with a full-length album that captures the joy of music-making and transports listeners back to his childhood suburban Australian streets.

Prog Fire: Frozen Factory Releases Monumental First Single “The Nothing I Want More”
Finnish progressive metal outfit Frozen Factory announces the release of their powerful new single and accompanying music video, “The Nothing I Want More.” The track is an atmospheric and deeply introspective journey that sets the stage for the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album, Apocalypse Inc., which is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026, via Wormholedeath.
“The Nothing I Want More” is a journey through isolation, existential reflection, and the pressures of a world ruled by power and control. Alienated yet keenly aware, it confronts societal exploitation, personal regrets, and the paradox of craving emptiness in a chaotic life. A rock/metal track with a strong rhythmic pulse, atmospheric guitars, and a moody, reflective tone.

KARNIVOOL REVEAL STUNNING NEW SINGLE “OPAL”
Karnivool have released their majestic new single “Opal”, giving us another taste of their hugely anticipated new album, In Verses, landing February 6 via Cymatic Records / Sony Music.
A sweeping journey that frontman Ian Kenny says ‘takes you out to the desert by the end of it’, “Opal” features a delicately plucked harp leading a collage of ideas stretching back to the band’s earliest creative chapters, including a repurposed riff, first recorded 20 years ago during the Themata sessions.
Guitarist Drew Goddard explains: “Opal pulls together ideas from some of my earliest days writing with the band. The riff in the middle and end was actually the first thing I recorded in the Themata era, on a computer at my parents’ house. Twenty years later, it found its place here. Jon dug it up, and we made it feel more current. The verse that starts with ‘You’ve been holding up…’ was a section left off Aeons from Asymmetry. The whole track came together in a way we’ve never really experienced before – these old, separate ideas suddenly just fell into place.”
Born out of relentless experimentation in their Perth studio with longtime collaborator Forrester Savell, the road to Karnivool’s fourth studio record has not been linear nor straightforward – just like the music they create.
In Verses is a culmination of the last decade of life experiences that have brought Karnivool to this point. Meticulously formed and delivered, the album’s ten tracks journey collective feelings of frustration, catharsis and a rediscovery of identity. In Verses not only provides a fitting moment of reintroduction for longtime and casual Karnivool fans but for newcomers, the new album marks a striking gateway to a body of work built on an intense love for the craft.
Over the past 20 years, Karnivool have cemented their status as one of Australia’s most influential hard rock bands. Their ever-unique approach to heavy and progressive music has delivered three acclaimed and platinum-certified records: Themata (2005), its groundbreaking follow-up, Sound Awake (2009) and ARIA award-winning #1 album Asymmetry (2013). As one of the most vital forces in progressive music globally, Karnivool have spent the intervening years catering to their ever-expanding fanbase, playing everywhere from Melbourne to Moscow, Sofia to Sydney, Pune to Perth. Highlights include a sold-out show at London’s Roundhouse to 3000 fans, gigs in South Africa, India and Dubai, appearances at Download, Hellfest and sold-out tours on home soil.
Though a lot has happened in the 12 years between albums, come February 6 the release of In Verses is as much of an achievement for Karnivool as it is a love letter for the fans who have grown with the band; a fitting payoff for years of loyalty and consistent support.

EXCIDE’S NEW ALBUM BASTARD HYMNS OUT NOW. BAND SHARES VISUALIZER FOR DOWN IN THE MOUTH
EXCIDE — Tyler Washington, Gill Gonzalez, Gage Lanza, Caleb Hogue, and Jacob Paris — have just dropped their second album Bastard Hymns via SharpTone Records. Get it here.
The band has also shared the visualizer for Down in the Mouth.
Watch the visualizer here: “We are incredibly excited to bring you our brand new album, Bastard Hymns,” the band enthuses. “Our perspective on the range that exists within genre and emotion. A record for the low, fighting the urge to go lower. We hope this finds you where you need it most.”
The album has garnered press praise from Revolver, New Noise, Idioteq, Idobi, Hardcore Dropout, and more.
Bastard Hymns is the logical next step from the band’s debut album, Deliberate Revolver. “Having felt like we accomplished what we came to do on the first record, there were no guidelines or barriers around where we were to go next. This opened up so many avenues for our creativity and exploration. We were lucky enough to begin working with SharpTone the following year, which put the band back in gear and opened up new possibilities for the path forward.”
Sonically, the band was inspired by the grooves and energy of late ’90s post-hardcore bands such as Cast Iron Hike and Snapcase, while siphoning melody and textural elements much the same as Quicksand and Cave In. The band was not afraid to shift gears a bit and take influence from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Failure, which, Excide admit, “allowed us to really push the sonic needle into uncharted territory, even further accentuated by Austin Coupe’s co-writing and production.”
Overall, the album is a “fuzzy, rocky, groovy, angry record. Seeped in the woes of growing up in a hillbilly hellscape, and living to tell the tale. The result was Bastard Hymns.”
During 2020, Excide initially introduced a boundary-breaking signature style gestated across projects such as Two of a Kind and Actualize/Radiation Reel. Two years later, momentum picked up on the heels of their independent full-length debut, Deliberate Revolver, which incited the applause of Brooklyn Vegan, Revolver, and more. They caught the attention of Sharptone Records and inked a deal with the label. In 2024, their next era ramped up in earnest with the two-pack Humdinger, including Dis(re)member and All Down (But 9). Right away, Stereogum raved, “Both of its tracks go hard,” and NO ECHO marveled at how “the band’s dynamic blend of ’90s-flavored hardcore and propulsive post-hardcore rhythms has shined brightly on each of their releases.”

TELENOVA RELEASE ‘VAPOR // SLOW DANCE’. NEW ALBUM THE WARNING, OUT FEBURARY 27
Following the release of lead single ‘THE DEEP’ and the announcement of their forthcoming Australian tour and album THE WARNING (February 27, 2026), Telenova today unveil another striking chapter with ‘VAPOR // SLOW DANCE’ — arriving alongside the reveal of a UK & European headline tour in 2026.
A moody, jazz-tinged slow burn drifting between longing and release, ‘VAPOR // SLOW DANCE’ underscores the trio’s command of atmosphere and emotional tension. The track is accompanied by a beautifully shot live performance taken from their intimate show at Melbourne’s The Nightcat this past August, capturing the band at their most magnetic.
Telenova’s ascent as one of Australia’s most captivating live acts continues. With multiple national tours and major festival appearances across Australia and Europe — including sold-out shows in London, Berlin and Athens — and coveted support slots for girl in red, St Vincent and RUEL, the trio have consistently expanded their global reach.
The distinctive universe of Telenova — shadowy, sample-driven songs with prominent trip-hop and electronica influence, threaded with a sense of cinematic playfulness — is crafted by lead vocalist, songwriter and filmmaker Angeline Armstrong alongside multi-instrumentalists Edward Quinn and Joshua Moriarty.
‘VAPOR // SLOW DANCE’ marks the next defining step as they move toward the release of The Warning and their most ambitious international touring cycle yet.

SABATON RELEASED THEIR MUCH-ANTICIPATED 11th NEW STUDIO ALBUM ‘LEGENDS’
ACCOMPANIED BY LATEST VIDEOS FOR “A TIGER AMONGST DRAGONS” AND “I, EMPEROR”
SABATON (@sabatonofficial) released in October their much-anticipated 11th studio album LEGENDS. It features the latest single and accompanying video, “A Tiger Among Dragons,” drawing inspiration for the song based on Lü Bu, known as the “Flying General,” and October release “I, Emperor,” based on the complex and controversial Napoleon Bonaparte and is a boardgamer meets Napoleon-themed video
Throughout the album, SABATON—Joakim Brodén (vocals), Pär Sundström (bass), Chris Rörland (guitar), Thobbe Englund (guitar), Hannes Van Dahl (drums)—delve into some of history’s greatest and most loved characters such as Jeanne D’arc (also known as Joan of Arc), Hannibal, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Julius Caesar, the Knights Templar, and the legendary swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi.
For “A Tiger Among Dragons,” SABATON drew upon inspiration for the song based on Lü Bu, known as the “Flying General,” one of the fiercest warriors in ancient China. During the chaos of the late Han Dynasty, he rose to legendary status with unmatched strength, insane skill with his halberd Sky Piercer and his lightning-fast horse, Red Hare. His duel at Hulao Pass, where he took on the best fighters of the era, sealed his place as a true legend. He’s the kind of larger-than-life character you want to write a song about – brutal battles, epic duels, betrayal and raw power.
“Our song ‘A Tiger Among Dragons’ has a powerful, raw energy to it, but with a more melodic edge,” says frontman Joakim Brodén. “I like to think that it tells Lü Bu’s story with intensity and emotion—it’s epic, but there’s also a sense of drama and depth that really brings the legend to life!”
For “I, Emperor,” the band is setting their sights on the complex and controversial Napoleon Bonaparte, who rose to fame during the French Revolution and became a hero after his Italian campaign. He took power as First Consul, then crowned himself Emperor. Known for his brilliant military tactics, he beat major European powers in battles like Austerlitz and Rivoli. He also reformed laws with the Napoleonic Code, but his ambition caught up with him after a failed invasion of Russia and defeat at Waterloo, and he was exiled.
The accompanying music video is a tribute to one of Sundström’s favorite childhood hobbies, board games. The concept was to create a historical board game replay of the Battle of Waterloo, with the twist being that the band members are the ones deciding the fate of the battle without being aware of it.

Both albums feature newly re-recorded versions of 5FDP’s biggest anthems, created in response to the sale of the original song masters—made without the band’s knowledge or opportunity to reclaim them.
Instead of remixing or remastering, 5FDP turned the setback into a positive by fully re-recording fan favorites across two volumes—both as a tribute to the songs and the fans who’ve stood with them over two decades. While honoring the originals and those who helped create them, the band brings renewed intensity to tracks like “Sham Pain,” “Blue On Black,” “Trouble,” and “Burn MF.” Together, the two collections pay respect to the past while reintroducing the music for a new era. Best Of – Volume 2 includes 16 re-recorded classics plus three previously unreleased live versions of “Wash It All Away,” “Wrong Side of Heaven,” and “Jekyll and Hyde”.
Best Of – Volume 2 also includes the 2025 version of COLD, which comes with a very creative lyric video that showcases the sentiment of the song.

FINGER ELEVEN HAS RELEASED “THE MOUNTAIN” FROM HIGHLY ANTICIPATED FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN A DECADE ‘LAST NIGHT ON EARTH’
One of the best-selling Canadian bands of all time, multi-platinum band FINGER ELEVEN (@finger_eleven) have always amalgamated their musical influences into their rock mix. They acknowledge that Phil Collins and Genesis were a big melodic influence on LAST NIGHT ON EARTH,
FINGER ELEVEN is propelled by a fresh musical vigor. “As we were making LAST NIGHT ON EARTH, there was this feeling that we were making a big Rock record,” guitarist Rick Jackett recalls. “We had done that early in our career, and then we veered away from it. But it was time to go back and embrace that bigness of the sound. Even the soft songs sound big.”
Although FINGER ELEVEN excel at writing four-minute songs, guitarist James Black feels that the majestic “The Mountain” feels like a 7-minute epic squeezed into that time, with music as epic as the lyrics are. “The setting is a fantastical one. At its core, it’s a song about trying to find the music,” explains frontman Scott Anderson. “The ultimate search is you’re finally at the end of it. When I step back it’s talking about our own journey, but it’s dressed up in a different way. It’s the idea of just trying to find one more cool idea, and hoping it’s not the last one.”

THE RASMUS RELEASED “BANKSY” FROM ‘WEIRDO’ ALBUM
THE RASMUS (@therasmusofficial) have always been a band merging their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies with lyrically relevant songs about the world around them and the misfits they proudly identify with. “Banksy,” is a hard-charging song tips its hat to Banksy, the controversial British street artist and political activist whose stencil graffiti work is found in public spaces. The video directed by the band’s bassist Eero Heinonen and filmed at a recent tour stop in Helsinki, Finland at the legendary venue, Tavastia.
Banksy is one of THE RASMUS’ biggest inspirations, especially his most recent work which has commented on the war in Ukraine as well as environmental issues. “Banksy has been a big favorite of ours for a long time,” says band frontman Lauri Ylönen. “We’ve gone on tour spotting Banksy’s graffiti around the U.K., and I have my own background in graffiti painting. The fans have reacted really well to this song at our shows—it’s a lift-up song in our set. It’s fast and full of energy, which fits the live set extremely well. With seeing the fans’ energy every evening, it gave us the idea that this song deserves a music video. Specifically, a video that shows the audience, the uplifting energy and feel of our live show. This song has became a fan-favorite.”
“I wanted to direct a video for us, with an insanely fast visual tempo, so that too much is happening on the screen all the time,” explains Eero Heinonen. “I believe we achieved that. It’s really cool that it includes street graffiti we’ve seen all over Europe, throughout the ‘Weirdo’ tour.”

SLEEPY SOPH Shares A Cosy Collection of Mellow Indie On Debut EP ‘lucky’. Debut EP Out Friday, November 28
With heavy eyes and an open heart, Boorloo/Perth-based singer-songwriter sleepy soph awakens with her debut EP ‘lucky’, out Friday, November 28.
sleepy soph creates songs that feel like pages from a diary written at golden hour, that are shared in a dozy blend of indie folk and alternative pop. Moving through daydreaming bedroom intimacy to bright beams of energy, the record captures the soft, reflective moments that come with growing up and learning to let go. Speaking on the EP, Sophie states:
“My debut EP ‘lucky’ is a reflection on what it feels like to navigate my early twenties. I tried to capture the fleeting moments that define this time; falling in love again, losing and gaining friendships, and the growing pains that come with figuring out who you are.”
Built around delicate guitars, airy vocals and laidback rhythms, ‘lucky’ moves with lazy ease and a cosy warmth. Opening with the gentle sounds of ‘leave it’, one of two tracks previously released from the EP, Sophie explores the emotional complexities of letting go of friendships that no longer serve us. Like overhearing her play in her own bedroom, soft layers of harmonies wrap around her dulcet vocals before the song shifts and is joined by drums, subtle ambient textures, and an overdriven electric guitar.
Following the evolving sound of ‘leave it’, ‘last chips in the packet’ is steeped in a nostalgic early 2000s warmth. The song drifts through the tender beginnings of a romance, capturing the subtle gestures, small sacrifices and the clumsiness of getting to know someone for the first time. Inspired yet grounded, the track shifts gently in texture, coloured by Sophie’s soft, airy vocals, meandering electric guitars and pulsing synths.
‘aquarius song’ is a stripped-back track built on simple instrumentation, offering a raw and honest glimpse into what it feels like to stand apart from everyone else. It then flows into the smooth and playful, 80s-inspired ‘jazz boy’, featuring saxophone, clarinet and flute.
Closing out the EP is ‘lesson learned’, a gentle indie anthem shaped by brushes on the drums and a country touch by a wailing slide guitar. Written with Sophie’s best friends in mind, the song captures the essence of girlhood in your 20s and the unforgettable memories that come with it.
‘lucky’ is like a lullaby for growing pains, a soft reminder that change can be comforting when you let it. It is a debut that lulls with warmth, reflection and the kind of sweetness that slowly sends you to sleep.
sleepy soph’s debut EP ‘lucky’ is out on Friday, November 28. Celebrate the release at Mojo’s, Fremantle, on Sunday, November 30, with special guests, Paperback Fort and Elianie.

Georgia Scarlett Delivers Her Golden Country-Folk Debut Album ‘Rhythm of Life’. Debut Album ‘Rhythm of Life’ Out November 28
Meanjin/Brisbane singer-songwriter Georgia Scarlett opens a new chapter with her debut album ‘Rhythm of Life’, out Friday, November 28. Blending the intimacy of folk with the golden glow of country pop, she delivers an album that celebrates growth, self-discovery and the steady beat of time.
‘Rhythm of Life’ is an album about healing, reflection and the strength that comes from change. It captures the moments we rarely speak of, the ones that shape us when no one is watching. Across each song, Georgia moves from heartbreak to acceptance, finding meaning in the passage of time and in the beauty of all the lessons. Speaking on the album, Georgia states:
“It reflects the gradual realisation of your own strength and the truth that, no matter how difficult the path, you have arrived exactly where you were meant to be. Because time, in all its power, shapes everything.”
From tender, stripped-back folk ballads to warm, full-band country pop, ‘Rhythm of Life’ begins in intimate spaces, with Georgia’s voice and guitar, before ebbing and flowing with lively rhythms, glowing harmonies and rich textures of banjo, slide guitar, harmonica and fiddle.
The album opens with ‘My Love’, a tender acoustic ballad that captures the ache of holding on after goodbye, Georgia’s voice resting gently over soft guitar. ‘Can’t Stop Time’ follows suit as a classic, sad-girl breakup track that is bittersweet, honest and vulnerable. The title track ‘Rhythm of Life’ introduces the full band, its steady drums and glowing harmonies carrying the first stirrings of the ebb and flow of life.
‘Fake Profile’ lifts the pace but carries a melancholic feel with rambling electric guitar lines, and a playful yet poignant look at the faces people wear when love fades. ‘Not Forgotten’ pares everything back to acoustic simplicity, a heartfelt ode to those who remain in memory even after life moves on. ‘Bookworm’ then brings a touch of twang and self-awareness, sliding between overthinking and acceptance with warmth and wit.
From there, ‘More Than a Smile’ radiates confidence and freedom, an upbeat country shuffle that dances through the art of letting go. ‘Watering Can’ turns inward, opening with spoken word, Georgia is joined by gliding strings, reminding us to stop tending what no longer grows. ‘Nothing More to Talk About’ sways with gentle pop textures and calm resolve, while ‘Cursive’ expands into a full-band bloom that feels like finding clarity after confusion. Closing with ‘Finding My Destination’, Georgia brings it all home in a golden burst of country pop that is warm, hopeful and full of life.
Georgia Scarlett’s debut album, ‘Rhythm of Life’, is out everywhere on Friday, November 28. Then, she will launch the album on Friday, December 6 at Dutch Vinyl, Brisbane, before heading out on tour in February. Get the vinyl now via the link here.

FLASH POETRY Captures The Chaos and The Calm of Modern Life on Debut Album ‘Reality, Now’. Debut Album Out November 28
In an age of overstimulation and spiritual homelessness, art speaks to the deeper parts of ourselves that the modern world makes it too easy to ignore. Flash Poetry fires back with ‘Reality, Now’, his debut album out Friday, November 28. It is a kaleidoscope of hip hop, psych rock, roots, reggae and jazz topped with a powerful commentary on society’s contradictions and the socio-political landscape.
‘Reality, Now’ is an album about seeing the world as it truly is, the awe, the absurdity and the ache of being alive in an overstimulated age. Across twelve tracks, Flash Poetry dissects the myths we live by: money as god, technology as salvation, war as entertainment and love as the last fragile truth. It is a cultural reflection and a call to consciousness. Nico Lim shares:
“This is a lyrical exploration of humanity’s midlife crisis – an antidote to nihilism, a philosophical cipher and an irreverent collision of the hyper-modern and the ancient.
The album fuses the groove of hip hop with the warmth of roots and reggae, the grit of psych rock and blues, and the looseness of jazz and funk. Much of the album leans into a laid-back, mellow groove, where warmth and space leave room for Nico’s lyricism.
The album opens with ‘Reality, Now’, a smooth, down-tempo groove that questions how money and technology have replaced meaning. ‘Every Ism is a Wasm’ follows with psychedelic guitars and a blues-rock swing, poking fun at modern tribalism and the marketplace of memes. ‘The Secret Life of Urban Trees’ keeps that live-band energy, an upbeat roots-hop ode to the quiet wisdom of nature growing through concrete.
Swaggering blues takes over on ‘From Dawn Till Dark’, tracing evolution from the Big Bang to the Big Mac, while ‘Cracks’ builds on floaty keys and electronic percussion to warn of history’s repeating mistakes. ‘Circles’ slows things back down, layering kaleidoscopic synths and delayed guitars around reflections on what it means to be human.
Roots and hip hop collide on ‘Make God Great Again’, a tongue-in-cheek look at modern spirituality, before ‘Bright Lights’ slides into a funky late-night groove. ‘Eye for Eye’ tightens the focus with gritty guitars and pulsing bass, confronting the pressure to stay productive and numb.
The closing tracks reveal Nico’s full range, from the tender spoken-word love ballad ‘All Love Needs’, through the satirical chaos of ‘2043 Shop Like a Billionaire Bloodbath’, to the final rallying cry ‘Reality, Now, Pt. 2’, a call to reclaim presence in a restless age.
Ultimately, the album feels organic yet intentional, built around Nico’s voice as it moves between spoken word, rap and poetry. The result is an album mellow enough to unwind with, yet gritty enough to hit its subjects head-on.
‘Reality, Now’ is out everywhere on Friday, November 28.

MARLON HOFFSTADT X PETER XAN’S ‘HOLD YOU CLOSE’ OUT NOW
Producer/DJ Marlon Hoffstadt teams up with Peter Xan, known for pioneering Afrogrunge, on ‘Hold You Close’. The epic track, which was released today via Capitol Records in partnership with Goodlife Management and MC3, flows masterfully from relentless beats and rapid fire vocals by Xan, to ethereal instrumental interludes and culminates in a poetic spoken word passage.
‘Hold You Close’ has been a staple in Marlon Hoffstadt’s set throughout 2025, amping up anticipation for the track’s release. Peter Xan has joined him at numerous shows – including his Los Angeles and New York pop ups and during his recent Warehouse Project takeover in the UK.
Marlon Hoffstadt will return to the U.S. in 2026 for his debut appearances at Ultra Miami and Coachella. He’ll close out 2025 with a pair of shows in Australia. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available HERE.
Last month, he celebrated the release of the extended version of his All Yours EP at ADE 2025 (Amsterdam Dance Event), the world’s largest electronic dance music conference and festival. The day-long, sold-out event featured him performing surprise B2B sets with such guests as VTSS, cloudy, MALUGI & Armin van Buuren and others. Dubbing the week “Amsterdam Daddy Event” with posters all over the city and Marlon Hoffstadt lookalikes handing out USBs with his unreleased EP All Yours and golden tickets to the event on city streets, he claimed ADE as his own.
Declaring that All Yours finds him moving from “cult favorite to global figurehead,” MARVIN Magazine said, “Each track pushed the BPM and the emotional ceiling. ‘Turn It Up’ hits like a laser beam, ‘Pure Love’ softens the tempo with nostalgic euphoria, and ‘Freedom’ feels built for festival sunrise…[his brand of trance isn’t ironic – it’s pure, communal, and deeply alive.” EDMTunes observed, “The long-awaited trance anthem ‘Turn It Up’ is the lead single – a high-octane track with an infectious, commanding keyboard refrain and crisp beats that Hoffstadt wrote and produced with UK DJ/producer Jacob Manson…”
In 2025, Marlon Hoffstadt made his U.S. live debut on the main stage of EDC Las Vegas, in front of 70,000 people. He went on to perform at HARD Summer and Lollapalooza Chicago. Playing clubs in his home city of Berlin from the age of 15, the perpetually smiling, neon-haired DJ has been on fire since 2020, when he reinvented himself as DJ Daddy Trance and started breaking all the rules of the scene that raised him. Marlon Hoffstadt’s productions bring the shameless fun of pop into storming club music, whether in edits (like his breakthrough version of Kid Cudi’s “Day n’ Night”) or in original productions like ‘It’s That Time’, which has amassed over 53 million streams on Spotify alone and was remixed by FISHER.
His up-tempo, 90s trance-inspired version of Empire of the Sun’s iconic 2008 hit ‘Walking On A Dream’ appears on the EP Walking On A Dream (Reimagined), released in late September. He also recently unveiled his remix of ‘Ocean’, the new single from Calvin Harris and Jessie Reyez. Named by Billboard as the No. 1 Most Played DJ at ADE 2024, Marlon Hoffstadt is the anti-purist dance floor hero turning club culture inside out, inviting fans to “Feel everything. Complete joy, completely letting go, raise your hands and sing along. Don’t be too cool, just play whatever you want.”
With high praise from key indie tastemakers including NME, DIY, CLASH and DORK, Peter Xan is rapidly building a reputation for fusing alternative sounds in a way that is both vital and defiant. He’s here to tear down cultural norms and rewrite the genre rulebook. Drawing influence from Deftones and Placebo, while embracing the rich sounds of his Nigerian heritage, Xan has created a singular, boundary‑blurring style he calls “Afrogrunge.”
Highlights from his 2024 EP Empty Space include the fan-favorite ‘For The Weekend’, bursting with attitude and indie swagger, and the title track ‘Empty Space’, with walls of guitars and an infectious chorus. Xan’s music is defined by razor-sharp hooks, glistening melodies, and a spirit that nods to a lineage of British guitar music spanning 1970s punk to 2000s indie. His 2023 EP GOD SAVE THE KING, produced with Dan Carey and Fontaines DC frontman Grian Chatten, was the culmination of a period of profound artistic evolution.
Over the past few years, Peter has played packed shows at All Points East, The Great Escape and Somerset House, along with sold-out headline shows in Paris, London, Manchester, and Brighton, and has supported one of his biggest influences, The Libertines. With each performance, he continues to cement his reputation as a fearless innovator, challenging expectations and redefining modern alt-rock.

KOBIE DEE CELEBRATES A BREAKOUT YEAR WITH NEW TRACK ‘SYDNEY 2 CROYDON’ FEATURING UK LYRICIST JORDS
Gomeroi man and one of Australia’s most masterful storytellers, KOBIE DEE, closes out a landmark year with the release of “Sydney 2 Croydon” featuring renowned UK artist JORDS.
It highlights two Black artists from opposite sides of the world, bridging Sydney and South London through sharp storytelling and cultural pride. Born from a genuine friendship since YouTube Black Voices, the track blends powerful lyricism and global hip hop energy, celebrating unity, identity, and the shared realities of their neighbourhoods.
“I met Jords back in 2022 through the YouTube Black Voices Workshop. We connected, swapped contacts and just fed off each other’s energy… a few months later, I was on my first overseas trip to the UK – and that’s where we linked up in person. Since then, we’ve been friends and have both built something musically and personally. There’s a mutual respect and understanding there and I think that shows in the music we make together. He was also a final nominee for the inaugural Sound NSW Music Prize Award and delivered a powerful performance at the MCG for Dreamtime Round, marking a major cultural milestone.
Looking ahead, Kobie Dee will return in 2026, building into the next evolution of his artistry, leading towards his debut album, set for release in 2026.

The announcement lands alongside the release of his new single ‘Open To The Light’, a deeply personal and luminous track marking an exciting new chapter for the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter.
Listen to ‘Open To The Light’ here
Speaking on the release, Fletcher shares “‘Open to the Light’ was written from a place of anxiety and fear of a changing season in my life. The song is about acknowledging that feeling and then releasing it. Knowing all you can do at any moment is your best. To be present, grateful and welcome the change.”
The headline run follows a landmark year for Fletcher, crowned by the news that he’ll join Lewis Capaldi on his sold-out Australian arena tour kicking off this evening, giving fans the first-ever chance to hear the new single live.
It also follows the nationwide surge of excitement around Fletcher’s recent single ‘Blindspot’. The track has earned major early support, scoring placements on Spotify’s Tapestry and Apple Music’s New In Pop, and being named triple j Unearthed’s Track of the Day before moving into rotation.
Fletcher’s media run has been electric, bouncing between The Maddy Rowe Show, HIT Hot Hits and Introducing with Tim Blackwell, while the airplay keeps stacking up across triple j, triple j Unearthed, HIT Network, and NOVA FM.
Fletcher’s live profile has grown rapidly, including a month-long performance residency at Old Mate’s in New York (the Hamish & Andy co-founded pub), an east coast pub tour, a VIP pre-show performance for Green Day at Marvel Stadium, Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, and a fan-voted slot at Rolling Sets Festival, sharing the stage with Lime Cordiale and The Wombats.
Kent’s growing profile has also been bolstered by consistent media support, with features across Rolling Stone AUS In My Room, Ones To Watch, The Music, Scenestr, Life Without Andy (Artist of the Week), The Partae, Milky, and Aus Music Scene, affirming his status as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists.
With a powerful new single and a milestone arena run closing out the year, Fletcher Kent steps into 2026 on a meteoric rise as he gears up for his biggest national tour yet.

Mark Lang Releases first single Into The Wind from forthcoming album Wild Swan
‘Into The Wind’ is the first single from Mark Lang’s forthcoming solo album ‘Wild Swan’. An album that documents the poetic language of his son Noah, and revels in the long journey of trying to understand yourself, difference, place and family.
Written and recorded over a 3 year period between his small Australian coastal village and Nashville USA. Mark worked with long-time collaborators and producers Nick Huggins (The Dirty Three, Jen Cloher) and Brad Jones (Ron Sexsmith, Missy Higgins). The three friends uncovered a new sonic landscape for Lang’s songwriting to inhabit, delivering a masterful piece of work.
At the time of writing Mark was walking a lot. Out along the sea wall towards an old wooden pier, trying to recover the simplicity of a time before the technology took over. Memories of watching ‘Storm Boy’ as a kid, on the days when it was too wet to go outside, pointed towards another way of existing. He carried undercurrents of his mid life with him towards the heads of Port Phillip Bay.
Once in the studio, improvised musical experiments held unexamined truths, and a world started to form. A flock of songbirds, filling the sky, carried many of the questions we all ask ourselves. How do we show up for the people around us? How do I use the time I have? What are on earth am I doing?
When asked if the songbirds of the song are him, Mark suggests that the songbirds are the ability to let things go, a way of releasing things. ‘Song making is a healing process, a way to carry your worries and let them fly towards the horizon.’
As the song reaches its peak, Mark makes a cry into the wind, both pleading and expelling. There is a duality in his performance, his voice is both the songbird and the burden it carries.
‘I think because the conscious mind wasn’t involved in this, in both the performance and the writing, it’s why this album probably feels the most honest of anything I’ve ever made.’
A renowned lyricist and storyteller, Mark Lang has written three critically acclaimed albums making many album of the year lists as the singer-songwriter of Australian indie band Skipping Girl Vinegar. Thrilling audiences from the main stages at Australia’s premier festivals including solo shows at Bluesfest, Cambridge Folk Festival (UK) Port Fairy Folk Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Woodford Folk, Falls Festival and many more. Mark’s work has received extensive airplay on major national broadcasters Triple J, ABC, Double J and community radio, as well as US college radio play with 7 weeks in the Top 100 CMJ charts, and numerous #1 & #2 positions across the US.
Mark toured his debut solo E.P extensively across Europe and North America including a sold out Australian tour. The first single ‘Into The Wind’ from his forthcoming full length album will be released globally on Sunday the 7th of December through MGM

JOEY SACHI debuts much-anticipated EP RISE
JOEY SACHI’s arrival in 2021 brought a bright new player to Australia’s ever diversifying, exciting electronic/dance music space. Tokyo-based, the Sydney-raised producer and songwriter and artist brought audiences a palette of sounds and influences that hinted at an emotional, textured broader body of work. Today, we finally hear the first EP collection from JOEY SACHI – her debut project, RISE.
The record has been teased with the release of singles ‘grace’ and ‘7 Seconds’, tracks that have shown JOEY SACHI’s continued evolution as a songwriter, as well as her dedicated nature when it comes to exploring new sounds and ideas with close collaborator, producer AKINAT.
Further on the RISE EP, we get to hear how the threads of electronic and pop sounds weave together with finesse. With moments of nuance on ‘circuits’ and ‘back to square one’ adding to the tapestry of cinematic work JOEY SACHI has been creating since her first drop ‘If I Ask’ during her breakthrough year, it’s evident that RISE is a beautiful moment of arrival from an artist whose potential keeps on impressing.
“The entire EP was written, recorded, and produced in Tokyo. During the first half of 2025, I found myself on a real creative roll. Each track started to feel connected to the next. When AKINAT started to work on the EP, we quickly realised that as two perfectionists – taking a song all the way to release doesn’t always come naturally. As the saying goes, “perfect is the enemy of good.” I found a deep sense of creative freedom in pushing back against the constant urge to overthink.” JOEY SACHI
Since emerging with ‘If I Ask’ back in 2021, Sachi has continued to build her fanbase at home and abroad, with radio support from the likes of 4ZZZ, 2SER and 2RRR; praise from tastemakers such as Happy Mag, MILKY, Backseat Mafia & AAA Backstage and editorial playlist support from both Spotify and Apple Music. Sachi has also worked with some esteemed artists along the way, including UK producer Affelaye, who worked with Joey on her 2024 single ‘Reverie’.

A DAY TO REMEMBER & PAPA ROACH. BIG ROCK TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUESTS LANDMVRKS
Australia and New Zealand, big things are coming! In 2026, two heavyweights will head down under for a colossal arena run, with Florida hybrid heavies A DAY TO REMEMBER and California mainstays PAPA ROACH joining forces for the BIG ROCK TOUR next April, joined by special guests LANDMVRKS.
Set to commence on Saturday 4 April in Perth, A DAY TO REMEMBER and PAPA ROACH will journey the BIG ROCK TOUR through Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane arenas, before closing out in Auckland on Wednesday 15 April.
Since forming in the early 2000s, A DAY TO REMEMBER have formidably shaped and expanded the musical landscape, with their signature blend of potent pop punk and heaving metalcore catapulting them from the underground into international headliner status; and an enduring, ever-growing global fanbase rapidly rising to match.
Pioneers of pop-mosh and one of the true linchpins in the alternative scene, A DAY TO REMEMBER’s commercial acclaim and chameleonic creativity has defied expectations and preconceived notions of what it means to be a rock band in the 21st century, with each of the ADTR’s eight full-length albums rocketing to #1 on the Billboard Rock, Indie and/or Alternative Charts upon release, along with one platinum album, two gold albums, one platinum single, and four gold singles. With nearly 2 billion worldwide streams in their wake, and sales over three million units, A DAY TO REMEMBER’s sweltering commercial triumphs are equally matched by their indelible live performances, capable of stupefying packed arenas around the world with unforgettable cuts including The Downfall Of Us All, All I Want and All My Friends.
Having shared stages over the years with Yellowcard, Falling In Reverse, New Found Glory and Parkway Drive amongst countless others, A DAY TO REMEMBER have spent 2025 extensively on the road, including headlining in the UK, Europe and North America, and performing at Knotfest Australia, Slam Dunk Festival, Rock am Ring, Hellfest, and Vans Warped Tour. Kicking off the new year performing with Avenged Sevenfold and Mr. Bungle in South America, 2026 is undeniably set to once again affirm the band’s stalwart live reputation that had Melodic Mag declare: “their ability to connect with their audience, combined with their musical versatility and high-energy showmanship, cements their status as one of the most dynamic and exciting live bands today.”
Two-time GRAMMY-nominated and Platinum-selling rockers PAPA ROACH have perfected evolution and raw power over the course of 30 years. Hailing from Vacaville, California and forming back in the early 90s, PAPA ROACH embody resilience in every sense of the word.
Releasing their debut album, Old Friends from Young Years, in 1997, the band have since gone on to release 11 studio albums, including their most recent outing Ego Trip, unveiled in 2022 via their own label New Noize Records. A band equally fluent in weaving fresh takes on the alternative and hard rock realms time and time again, PAPA ROACH have also spent their storied career calling attention to mental health; a driving theme that stems back to day one and the release of their genre-defining 2000 debut single Last Resort. A breakout hit taken from their 2000 album Infest, Last Resort would also go on to pave the way for 26 career Top-10 hits, 12 career #1s and an ongoing global impact that most could only dream of.
Teaming up with The Used in 2023 for a double-header Australian run, PAPA ROACH balanced fan-favourites with plenty of surprises for their Aussie fans, with Scenestr capturing PAPA ROACH’s Brisbane magnetic performance that year: “there’s a stack of interaction between the band the crowd tonight and we are relishing in the nostalgia and lapping up later tracks like staved hyenas, whooping all the while”. And if the walls could talk at any of the countless venues PAPA ROACH have played throughout their careers across the globe, both as the main event and alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Limp Bizkit, Eminem and more, the resounding sentiment would be that PAPA ROACH aren’t just revered for their longevity; this is a band who can adapt, survive and thrive, brandishing an underdog spirit with prime-time appeal. And they’ll be bringing it with spades alongside A DAY TO REMEMBER next April.
French modern metalcore heavyweights LANDMVRKS have become one of the most in-demand names in the scene, forming in 2014 and going on to push the very fabric of their genre via their signature blend of blistering heaviness, infectious melodies and emotionally-charged lyrics. Over the course of four studio albums, including their latest 2025 full-length The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been, LANDMVRKS continue to raise their own benchmark to ferocious heights. Ticking off a successful world tour in 2024, the group have solidified their standing as a global powerhouse, and their electrifying shows leave audiences breathless, as does their stacked back-catalogue that spans the likes of Sulfur, Suffocate, Scars and many more. Marking their first national Australian headline tour earlier this year, 2026 will find LANDMVRKS once again wowing Aussie crowds with their trademark brutality.

Horse MacGyver New Album ‘Bing Bong’ OUT NOW
Free Album Launch February 20th 2026!
Federation Bells, Middle Terrace, Birrarung Marr 7:30pm
Bing Bong is the blazing third LP by Horse MacGyver, aka Naarm / Melbourne based media artist, sound designer, and musical provocateur Timothy Dwyer.
Horse MacGyver represents a radical approach to the construction and dissemination of electronic music that combines high-impact sonic hysteria with scalpel-like precision editing and hardware programming.
On Bing Bong, Dwyer expands his wild analogue electronic sonic palette to incorporate the clamorous sonorities of Melbourne’s extraordinary public sound sculpture: the Federation Bells.
Industrial percussion collides with high energy electronics, miasmic hooks, plaintive melodies and skull-crushing production, creating a seriously unique collection of playful, chaotic, and gleefully avant-garde experimental bangers.
Be sure to check out some of Horse MacGyver’s key influences in this wonderful Cyclic Defrost piece here.
In celebration of ‘Bing Bong’ Horse MacGyver will be performing the album live and for free!

“Perhaps there is a game show element in here. A vague spectacle, rolling the dice on an outcome, the mix of serious intent and slapstick, the odd through-line for everything. There is a punch line somewhere in here… and this is the result.”

IRON SAVIOR release captivating cover version of ‘Forever Young’ from upcoming album AWESOME ANTHEMS OF THE GALAXY!
Arriving in March 2026 on PERCEPTION!
Following the previously-released cover version of Irene Cara’s 80s anthem ‘Fame’, Hamburg’s power metal torchbearers IRON SAVIOR unveil their brand-new single ‘Forever Young’, a powerful take on the Alphaville classic!
The track is the latest preview of the band’s upcoming album Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy, set for release in March 2026 via PERCEPTION – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music.
IRON SAVIOR frontman Piet Sielck reveals: “When it came to pick the songs for “Awesome Anthems” Alphaville’s “Forever Young” was one of the songs that almost popped up immediately. I think we did a very interesting yet powerful version of this all-time classic with all the typical Iron Savior trademarks. Eager to get your feedback…”
After reigniting their cosmic engines with Machine World – Reforged in 2025, IRON SAVIOR embark on their boldest mission yet. Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy transforms some of the most iconic pop hits of the 1980s into full-throttle power metal epics, combining nostalgia, passion, and the band’s trademark precision and fire.
From the electrifying rush of A-ha’s “Take On Me” and the thunderous drama of Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds” to the cinematic pulse of Jermaine Jackson & Pia Zadora’s “When The Rain Begins To Fall” and the adrenaline-fueled “Maniac” by Michael Sembello, IRON SAVIOR reforge pop classics into heroic, melodic metal anthems.
Sielck recently said: “After the huge success of the 2002 Condition Red bonus track “Crazy” (Seal), which was actually used in a HBO TV show, we have been asked by fans and medias almost constantly to do a complete cover tracks album. So… two decades later here we are!” quotes frontman Piet Sielck. “AWESOME ANTHEMS continues the transformation from pop-to-metal in Iron Savior style as started with Seal’’s “Crazy” and Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams. We are absolutely proud of the outcome, which never looses the original vibe of the tracks but yet is 100% Iron Savior. Just listen yourself.. I guarantee a lot of smiles while doing so!”
With Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy, IRON SAVIOR fuse nostalgia and futurism, passion and precision, proving once again that the past can shine brighter than ever when reforged in metal! Pre-save the album now at: https://ironsavior.rpm.link/awesomeanthemsPR
