The Twilight at Taronga Summer Concert Series is an annual summer ritual bringing together world-class live music, breathtaking Sydney Harbour views, and the power to protect Australia’s iconic native wildlife.
Set in Taronga Zoo’s natural amphitheatre with sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline, the concert on Saturday night carried that signature Twilight vibe – chill, communal, and vibrantly alive as the sun dipped behind the water. Folks showed up with picnic blankets, grazing boxes and good vibes, settling into the gentle dusk breeze that kept the balmy evening just right. The rocking double header of pysch-folk masters Cloud Control and R&B-infused rock mavens The Preatures was just icing on the cake.

The Preatures came on just after 7pm. Led by the fierce charisma of Izzi Manfredi, they brought an effervescent, R&B-infused rock set that had the crowd dancing and cheering along from the get-go. Hits like “Is This How You Feel?” had everyone on their feet immediately, the band’s signature blend of hooky melodies and tight groove created one of the night’s most electric moments.

When Cloud Control took to the stage, it was clear this was going to be a special moment for fans. Riding the buzz of their reunion and celebrating 15 years since Bliss Release, the band’s blend of psych-folk and rich harmonies brought out sing-alongs and smiles across the audience. Tracks like “Gold Canary” and other classics sounded even more expansive with the harbour as a backdrop.
