Reggae Royalty, THE ORIGINAL WAILERS, led by legendary guitarist Al Anderson, return to Australia in March 2027 for the One Love Tour
Few names in music history carry the cultural significance and enduring influence of Bob Marley & The Wailers. In March 2027, Australian audiences will have the opportunity to reconnect with that legacy when The Original Wailers return for a national tour celebrating the timeless songs that helped bring reggae music to the world.
Led by legendary guitarist Al Anderson, The Original Wailers will embark on their ‘One Love’ Australian Tour, performing seven dates across the country and delivering an authentic celebration of one of popular music’s most beloved catalogues.
For reggae fans, Anderson’s presence alone makes this tour a special occasion. He is the sole surviving member of the classic mid-1970s Bob Marley & The Wailers lineup and played a pivotal role during one of the band’s most influential eras. Joining Marley and The Wailers in 1974 during the recording sessions for the landmark Natty Dread album, Anderson’s distinctive guitar work became an integral part of the band’s sound as they rose to international prominence.
His contributions can be heard on some of the most important recordings in reggae history, including Live!, Babylon By Bus, Survival and Uprising. Beyond his work with Marley, Anderson also performed alongside reggae icon Peter Tosh, appearing on Tosh’s acclaimed albums Legalize It and Equal Rights.
The story behind The Original Wailers carries a deeper significance than simply revisiting classic songs. According to Anderson, during the final days of Bob Marley’s life, Marley entrusted him with an important responsibility.
“Al, I’m going on my journey. Please honour the music that we made together and make sure the band stays together.”
More than four decades later, Anderson continues to honour that request, taking the music of Bob Marley & The Wailers to audiences around the globe while preserving the spirit, message and musical integrity that made the songs resonate across generations.
Australian fans can expect a setlist packed with classics that have become part of the soundtrack of modern music. Songs such as Is This Love, Could You Be Loved, Three Little Birds, One Love, Buffalo Soldier, No Woman No Cry, I Shot The Sheriff and Jamming remain as uplifting and relevant today as when they were first released.
The music of Bob Marley transcends genre boundaries. Its themes of peace, love, social justice, unity and hope continue to inspire listeners around the world, making these concerts much more than nostalgia trips. They are celebrations of songs that still carry powerful messages and an infectious sense of joy.
Known for creating an atmosphere of collective celebration wherever they perform, The Original Wailers have earned a reputation for turning venues into giant singalongs. As Scenestr aptly described one of their recent performances, audiences can expect “unbridled sing-alongs” as fans come together to share in some of reggae’s most enduring anthems.
The 2027 tour will visit Perth, Adelaide, Wollongong, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, giving Australian audiences the chance to experience these iconic songs performed by musicians who helped create the original sound.
With reggae enjoying continued popularity across Australia and Bob Marley’s music remaining as influential as ever, The Original Wailers’ return promises to be one of the standout roots and reggae tours of 2027.
