I have no idea what goes through the mind of a 22 year old female artist in 2026 and won’t attempt to try to dissect the intricacies of such a life. However, I do at least feel qualified to comment on the creative output that emerges from a young, artistic being of the time. In Gypsy Lee, I see a singer-songwriter navigating life and documenting her journey through clever, fun, and irresistable tunes, sometimes making light of the dark, other times simply enjoying her moment. Blessed with supreme musical genes, Gypsy Lee’s voice is aesthetically pure yet filled with emotion and nuance. On her 4 track sophomore EP On A Mission from God And Guccci, she displays a rare ability to absorb from her peers yet create a unique musical persona of her own.
Australian Musician first came across the talented Gypsy Lee back in 2024 at the launch of the Fenix 360 social media platform and were impressed as she promoted material from her debut EP Pretty In The Dark with so much grace and a remarkable presence for an artist so new to the professional stage.
Produced by and Co-written with Andrew Lowden (Thelma Plum, Matt Corby), On A Mission from God And Guccci sees the song tempo raised and production values refined. It’s the sound of an artist with a clear destination in mind, yet with an infinite choice of routes to get there.
Of making the EP, GYPSY LEE describes the experience as being a journey, reflecting on how the music has matured as she has done in recent years.
“These songs are the most honest thoughts in my head and feelings from my heart,” Gypsy Lee says.
“A total representation of where I am in life right now as a 22 year old navigating life. There’s definitely a fair share of unhingedness which I love, but throughout the EP, I’m especially proud of the underlying deepness and meaning of each lyric and melody.”
She says the EP’s title “just fell into my hands on the way to a funeral.”
“I’m definitely the kind of girl that believes everything happens for a reason… or at least I try to. I liked the idea that making this EP was almost a calling, maybe that my purpose this lifetime is to write and share truths people can resonate with. And doing it with style.”
