LUCY GALLANT TAKES A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE WITH DARING, REAL AND UNFILTERED EP “FORBIDDEN FRUIT”
Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lucy Gallant releases her five-track EP “Forbidden Fruit” on Friday, October 9, 2026, bringing together a collection of bold, deeply personal songs that explore desire, heartbreak, temptation, power and emotional freedom.
“Forbidden Fruit” brings together “Bad Boy”, “F YOU”, “Devious”, “Venom” and “Forbidden Love” into a collection that shows a more daring, raw and unfiltered side of Gallant’s songwriting.
Across the five tracks, Gallant moves between vulnerability and defiance, writing openly about complicated relationships, forbidden attraction, desire, betrayal, boundaries and the moments that force us to reclaim our own power.
“Forbidden Fruit is me taking a walk on the wild side and saying the things we’re sometimes too afraid to say out loud. These songs came from real experiences, wanting the wrong person, giving in to temptation, falling hard, getting my heart broken, finding my fire and choosing myself. I didn’t want to behave myself on this EP. I wanted it to be honest, sexy, a little dangerous and completely unfiltered.”
The EP opens with “Bad Boy”, a playful and seductive exploration of finding someone who matches your inner baddie and causing a little trouble together, before the unapologetic “F YOU” turns frustration into a fearless declaration of self-respect.
“Devious” dives into the intoxicating pull of attraction and temptation, while “Venom” takes the EP into more emotionally intense territory, transforming pain, grief and betrayal into strength.
The closing track “Forbidden Love” reveals another side of Gallant, exploring the depth and complexity of loving someone when circumstances make that love impossible.
Together, the five songs form “Forbidden Fruit”, an EP about embracing the parts of ourselves we don’t always dare to show.
Produced by award-winning producer Josh Beattie and mastered by Paul Blakey, “Forbidden Fruit” combines Gallant’s distinctive songwriting and commanding vocals with a polished yet emotionally charged sound.
Gallant’s independent discography spans more than a decade, including the albums “Free Like Me” (2012) and “Darkness to Light” (2019), the EP “Flowers” (2023), and multiple singles. Her career has taken her across Australia and internationally, with performances at major festivals including Glastonbury Festival, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Woodford Folk Festival.
The release arrives during a huge year for the fiercely independent artist, with Gallant touring across Australia and selling out shows throughout 2026, while continuing to build a growing audience around her original music.
Rather than waiting for the traditional music industry to open its doors, Gallant continues to build her career independently, bringing her music directly to audiences through her recordings and live performances.

SHYGIRL SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO FOR ‘MANTRA’
SWALLOW! DUE 6 NOVEMBER
Single out now via Because Music
Shygirl is back with a new single, ‘Mantra’ off her forthcoming album SWALLOW!, due 6 November via Because Music. Hypnotic and propulsive, ‘Mantra’ is an intoxicating dance-floor anthem that pulls you deeper and highlights the sonic range on the forthcoming album. The track featured on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe show today, where Shygirl also joined Zane for a conversation about SWALLOW! and the making of the new record plus a live to air session where she played ‘Mantra’ plus previous single, ‘Lucky [Hymn]’.
‘Mantra‘ comes with another music video adding to the Shygirl cinematic universe – this time set before the action starts in ‘Alyse’ and ‘Lucky[Hymn]’ and following the character Saskia – last seen stripping off and dancing in ‘Alyse’ – as she’s pulled into an impromptu day rave by the character Alyse and Vega. The video is a reflection of when things get a little uncomfortable pushing through the crowd and that uncomfortability to the other side offers a reward.
Shygirl calls SWALLOW! a reintroduction. The album is devotional and visceral, patient and euphoric. The instrumentation that winds itself through SWALLOW! was a way to manifest all the intense emotion and romanticism Shygirl has experienced. The result is indie songwriting woven through the electronica she came from, organized around a forward-moving motion, its temporal sensibility imbued with the ability to take stock without standing still.
The new single follows ‘Lucky (Hymn)‘ which came alongside a music video co-directed by Shygirl and Austen Taylor Pease that plays out like a film shot in one single unbroken take, as well as ‘Alyse‘.
Shygirl began writing SWALLOW! at a pivotal coming of age moment in her life, fresh off the back of her debut album Nymph and falling in love. The album sounds open to the future, to the transcendent power of love. A world previously unknown had revealed itself – and Shygirl channels that sensation with a near-biblical conviction. It is the scripture of the cult of falling in love. Radiant and charged and twilight-hued, the romanticism runs deep, it’s all-encompassing but clear-eyed. During sporadic, unhurried sessions, Karma Kid made everything maximalist, while Casey MQ fine-tuned the delicate moments. Shygirl realized she didn’t need to leave her electronic roots behind to find something new.
Alongside the new single Shygirl is announcing her headline world tour kicking off in 2027. The tour begins in Europe taking on Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Glasgow and Manchester before heading Stateside starting in Salt Lake City, Utah then heading to Austin, Atlanta, Toronto, New York City and more. Shygirl premiered new music from SWALLOW! at her recent set at Draaimolen festival on 4 September in the Netherlands and will head to Italy, Iceland, and Spain for further shows for the remainder of the year.

ALBUM FORMER SELF OUT NOVEMBER 13 VIA PURE NOISE RECORDS
Phoenix, Arizona- Emo/alternative band Commoner recently announced the release of their forthcoming debut album, Former Self, set to arrive on 13th November 2026 via Pure Noise Records. Now, they release the insistent, urgent rush of the single, Passerby.
“Passerby has always had a more literal meaning for the band. For me, the song is a way to send a personal message to someone I’ll never speak to again—a chance to express everything I once held back,” says singer Romin Mattison.
Album Former Self is produced by long-time collaborator Zach Tuch and is an album that’s very much about looking back at the past, it’s as equally concerned with moving forward. After all, your former self could be a version of you from a decade ago—or from yesterday—and even in the six months since the previous track Breach came out, the band’s style has evolved. Breach, the band say, was a stop-gap, an introduction, a bridge between the past and the present. Former Self, somewhat ironically given its title, is a full-hearted representation of who Commoner are now.
“The album has a lot of themes of childhood and your own former self,” says Bryant, “but it also discusses how people around you have changed—and missing somebody else’s former self. We have songs that look back on how you yourself used to be back in the day, but we have songs about how everyone else has changed too.”
It all makes for a moving document about human nature, about the inevitability of growing older, of the self-awareness that who you are isn’t who you were, even if it feels that way. It’s a joint commiseration, celebration and commemoration, all wrapped up in one, but delivered with the exuberance and promise of youth.
“Former Self is a window of reflection for each of our lives. For what it’s been and how we’ve learned to move forward. People change, situations change, life is full of it. As a band, we have always gravitated towards the works of bands who touch on moments of time as they are your own. Instances in which the experience has felt shared, rather than being preached. Our debut full length was a meditative piece for all of the members, and has allowed us to close a chapter in our writing that we had all felt needed conclusion,” says Romin Mattison (vocals).

02. Passerby

04. Cemetery Dogs

“STARLESS” SINGLE OUT NOW
“Starless” video filmed by Jon Vulpine and Justin Jones with editing from Jake Johnston
Access media assets including wav file for airplay here
As “Starless” spends its second consecutive week at #1 on the Active Rock radio charts, A Perfect Circle have released a new video featuring the debut live performance of the track, filmed at their sold-out London show this summer. (View here)
At the time of the single’s release, Maynard James Keenan shared: “Of course I’m excited to release the recordings, but our songs always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live.”
Recorded at Billy Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in Studio City, Calif., “Starless” was produced by Howerdel, mixed by Matty Green (U2, Florence + the Machine, TV on the Radio), and features longtime collaborator Josh Freese on drums.
“Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years,” Howerdel says. “But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along.”
The band also recently released a second song, “To Whom It May Concern” which offers a counterpoint to the more muscular “Starless,” highlighting the nuanced songwriting that has made A Perfect Circle an enduring presence in modern rock.
A Perfect Circle resume their global tour on Nov. 25, with dates across Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Hawaii. The band launch their North American leg on April 13 with Puscifer (April 13 to 25) and The Cult (April 27 to June 13) joining them across the two-month outing. Tickets for all dates are available at aperfectcircle.com.

CHELSEA DAGHITA . The new single ‘Baby Boy’ out now
Hot on the heels of her showstopping performance at Yours & Owls Festival, Wollongong up-and-comer Chelsea Daghita today shares her new single ‘Baby Boy’. Stream HERE.
On ‘Baby Boy’, Daghita’s vocal is pushed into new territory, balancing its delicate natural warmth with a newfound strength as she experiments with haunting runs and 70s rock grit. Lyrically, ‘Baby Boy’ invites the listener to share in Daghita’s quiet angst, as she reflects on the mismatched potential of a would-be lover.
“The song is about somebody who I wanted to care for, but they really didn’t have it together at all,” reflects Daghita. “I thought I could be the person to help them out, but it got to a point where I just couldn’t stand seeing someone with such potential destroy themselves. He was just a Baby Boy that needed to sort his stuff out, and I’m not his mother or his saviour.”
Daghita worked with producer Blake Bashfield (Sesame Girl) on the new single, and together they were able to draw upon her broad influences – from Clairo and Julia Jacklin to Bob Seger and Fleetwood Mac – to strike a balance between her vintage spark and ambitious, future-focused songwriting.
“Recording this track was so much fun. I wanted the drums to be primal, almost instinctive, similar to the drums in Tusk by Fleetwood Mac,” she says. “I learnt and achieved a lot during the writing and recording of this track about my own writing, and how I want to write more in the future. ”
Swiftly becoming an in-demand artist on the live circuit, Chelsea Daghita is set to close out the year with a growing list of festival appearances and support slots. Earlier this month, she performed at Yours & Owls festival alongside the likes of DMA’s, G Flip, and Ball Park Music, and next weekend is set to open for Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers, with additional shows to be announced.
ABOUT CHELSEA DAGHITA
Raised on her family’s 1970s record collection and drawn to artists like Clairo, Daghita pairs vintage warmth with lyrically ambitious songwriting. 23-year-old Chelsea Daghita is feeling the growing pains of anyone her age. Growing up in regional New South Wales, Australia, she is largely unaffected by inner-city trends, which has made the learning and mistakes of being a young adult all the more real for her; and that’s reflected in her music.
Homeschooling allowed her to indulge in music classes. That freedom is reflected in her music and her tastes. Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac and more modern inspirations including Clairo all coalesce into recordings that she describes in terms such as Orange Velvet or Primal, Gritty, and Dusty. She has played live extensively in and around Wollongong, including across festivals such as Ohana and Yours and Owls. She has been on support lineups for Spacey Jane, Lime Cordiale and Hockey Dad.

AWARD-WINNING CANADIAN ARTIST PATRICK WATSON ANNOUNCES SPECIAL GUEST LA FORCE FOR AUSTRALIAN TOUR SUPPORT
FIRST AUS SHOWS IN OVER A DECADE TAKE PLACE NEXT MONTH IN SYDNEY, MELBOURNE & BRISBANE
Ahead of his first Australian shows in over a decade, acclaimed musician, songwriter and composer PATRICK WATSON today announces he will be joined by fellow Canadian artist LA FORCE on all dates.
La Force is the mesmerising solo project of one of Canada’s most sought-after musical collaborators, Ariel Engle. Her debut self-titled album, La Force, earned a Polaris Prize long-list nomination alongside global praise, and caught the attention of The National’s Aaron Dessner, who recruited Engle to appear on the 2021 Big Red Machine LP alongside Bon Iver, Taylor Swift, Fleet Foxes and Sharon Van Etten.
Having previously collaborated on the lead single ‘Height of the Feeling’ from Watson’s 2022 album Better in the Shade, the Australian run brings the two acts together once again, offering fans the opportunity to see two of Canada’s most brilliant acts live on stage.
Kicking off at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on 26th November, Watson’s three-date east coast run continues on 28th November at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre before wrapping up on 29th November at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre.
Blending genre lines of cabaret pop, classical and indie rock music, Watson’s music has reached global audiences for two decades; his flair for experimenting with form coming together beautifully with nuanced lyricism and ambition.
Watson’s latest album, 2025’s UH OH, reintroduced him as one of the finest musicians of his generation and also was positioned as a comeback album of sorts. Made after Watson suffered a vocal cord injury that resulted in him losing his voice for a months-long stretch, UH OH features his music performed by a number of guest vocalists including Martha Wainwright, Charlotte Oleena, MARO and Charlotte Cardin. The record earned Watson a Juno Award nomination for ‘Adult Alternative Album Of The Year’, while the Martha Wainwright collaboration ‘House On Fire’ was shortlisted for the 2026 SOCAN Polaris Song Prize.
Watson’s career milestones have included winning the prestigious Polaris Music Prize for Close To Paradise (2007), as well as achieving over 1 billion streams on Spotify for his 2010 song ‘Je te laisserai des mots’ – the first French song to achieve the feat. Watson’s music has also been featured on a number of television projects that have become part of the pop culture zeitgeist (Grey’s Anatomy, Orange Is The New Black, This Is Us), while as a live performer his shows have continued to win new audiences around the world.

Rising Sydney duo LAHGO return with new single ‘My 600th Letter’ out now
Rising Sydney alt-rock outfit lahgo today return with their brand new single ‘My 600th Letter’. Stream HERE. This Saturday, lahgo will celebrate the release of ‘My 600th Letter’ alongside their previous single ‘What I Need’ at Marrickville’s Heaps Normal Warehouse, with tickets on sale now and available HERE.
Produced with Ethan Reginato (Gang of Youths, The Avalanches, Meg Mac), the new single sees the duo explore new territory sonically, leaning further into their pop influences while remaining true to their grittier rock roots.
Vocal powerhouse Mel Bailey says ‘My 600th Letter’ is a deeply personal song “about watching a childhood friend turn into someone you don’t recognise anymore.” The track opens with a gentle but vibrant acoustic strum, before layers of synth, electric guitar, and a driving drumbeat build into a crescendo. Mel’s vocals seamlessly move from reflective to hopeful and back again, as she contemplates a brighter future for the song’s subject with lines like I wish you could’ve been everything you wanted to be, and I’ve been writing my 600th letter to tell you that things can get better.
“It’s about wanting to be there for them, but feeling helpless every time you try,” says Mel. “It’s the pain of knowing you would do more if they’d let you, and learning to accept that being shut out was never really about you, even though it still hurts.”
With lahgo, Mel and her bandmate Lee Denman (guitars, bass) have garnered a loyal following across the country with their combination of memorable pop-driven melodies and raw, alternative edge. On the live stage, their music translates into a performance that feels immediate and exciting, while still connecting on an emotional level with their audience. Their music has found a home with a growing community of fans, leading them to multiple sold out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, a packed out performance at King Street Crawl, and sharing stages with a wide range of acts including The Terrys, Don West, The Living End, and Le Shiv.
Alongside airplay on triple j and community radio nationwide, lahgo’s music has been spotlighted on DSP editorial playlists including Spotify’s Fresh Finds AU & NZ, Rock Out, The Local List, TURN UP AUS, and Local Noise, as well as music video playlisting on Rage and coverage across Australian media.
Upcoming Shows
Saturday 17th October – Heaps Normal Health Club – Sydney, NSW Tickets
Wednesday Oct 21 – Parramatta Lanes Festival – Sydney, NSW
About lahgo: As Sydney emerged from lockdown, the pair met at their local guitar shop and rehearsal studio, Talon Music. Mel came from alt-rnb/soul and Lee from indie rock. “We came from different musical worlds, but bonded straight away over Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz and Arctic Monkeys,” recalls Mel.
That immediate connection led to lahgo’s first show a month later: a sold-out show at Oxford Art Factory Main Stage. Their first co-write, ‘Shallow Hellos’, set the tone for what would follow—a personal reflection on social anxiety and the search for people who make you feel understood, themes that remain at the heart of the band’s songwriting.
They’ve since sold out four Sydney headline shows across 2024–26 and supported The Terrys, DZ Deathrays, Don West and Le Shiv. Their 2026 run includes appearances at Party in the Paddock and Bonzaki Music Festival, with upcoming shows alongside The Living End, The Angels and The Superjesus.
lahgo’s distinct sound sits somewhere between No Doubt, Wet Leg and Paramore. Think alt-rock grit with pop instinct, unfiltered self-awareness and songs that hold a mirror up to people and relationships.
lahgo comes from the Filipino word malago (pronounced mah-lah-gô), which means to flourish, or thrive.

The EP includes the previously released single ‘Save You Now’, a shimmering slice of power-pop that earned praise from prominent New York music critic Sal Nunziato, who described the track as “a jangly masterwork [with] a chorus that will stay with you all day.”
With its combination of infectious melodies, richly layered instrumentation and accomplished songwriting, Luminous sees The Summertimes build on the foundations of their debut while continuing to carve out their own place within Australia’s enduring guitar-pop tradition.
Luminous is available to pre-save now and will be released October 8 via Golden Robot Records.
ABOUT THE SUMMERTIMES
Australian power-pop rockers The Summertimes have signed with one of the world’s leading indie record labels, Golden Robot Records, and will release a new EP in 2026. Led by songwriters David Beniuk and David Challenger, the EP will follow on from their debut 2023 self-titled LP that featured some of Australia’s finest musicians, including drummer Stephen O’Brien (Tumbleweed), bassist Steve Bull (ICEHOUSE), keyboardist Marco Forlano (The Mustard), and guitarist Ashley Naylor (EVEN, The Church and Paul Kelly). Five-time ARIA award winner Paul McKercher, who’s worked with bands like Hoodoo Gurus, Midnight Oil, You Am I and The Vines, engineered, produced and mixed.
The LP attracted global critical acclaim, especially in the USA, the UK and Australia, and has been played on global indie radio stations in the UK, Europe, and the USA (including Little Steven’s Underground Garage and WFMU in New Jersey).
In December 2023, Cathay Pacific – one of the world’s biggest and best airlines – uploaded The Summertimes’ album onto its entertainment systems on all international flights.
In July 2025, The Summertimes were signed to a global licensing agreement with Australia’s Perfect Pitch Publishing, which called the LP “absolutely timeless – quintessentially Australian in both sound and songwriting.” Beniuk and Challenger are again joined by Bull, Forlano, McKercher, Naylor and and O’Brien for their new EP, which will once more be recorded at Sydney’s iconic Rancom St Studios.

MICK THOMAS’ ROVING COMMISSION PRESENT NEW SPLIT SINGLE WITH HANA AND JESSIE-LEE’S BAD HABITS AHEAD OF THEIR GoChristmasComeBack TOUR
Set for release via Bandcamp and elsewhere on November 2, Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission’s new single, which they share with recent touring partners Hana and Jessie-Lee’s Bad Habits, is available to pre-order now. (And for you media types it is available for you to listen and review and play on the radio NOW, and you can download it from the link above.)
The single includes a new studio track from each artist. Mick’s song is “(Still) Don’t Need Much”, a new version of an old song originally titled “Don’t Need Much”, which he first recorded with Weddings, Parties, Anything.
“Don’t Need Much” is a song about keeping your expectations in check. Not so much about settling for less but valuing the things that the world presents you. It has the distinction of being the last single from the very last Weddings, Parties, Anything album back in 1996. There was a lot riding on it. It was recorded, re-recorded and remixed. It received hardly anything in the way of airplay and by the time the band had finished up a few years later the song was missing from the repertoire.
And then nearly thirty years later Mick met a punter at a festival in the desert for whom the song meant so much he had a couple of lines tattooed on his arm. Lines in memory of a wife who had passed and a time in his life that had gone. It was a wonderful heartfelt story that got Mick thinking about the song itself. Why it was written, how he was feeling at the time and the woman he’d written it about. Mick and his fine and current Roving Commission lineup had the song back where it needed to be. It was just a song. A simple love song. And it needed to be played.
Buyers of the new single also get 4 digital bonus tracks recorded live at the artists’ show together at Lefty’s in Brisbane in December 2025. Two tracks from Hana and Jessie-Lee and two with the girls sitting in with the Roving Commission on classic versions of “For a Short Time” and David McComb’s “Wide Open Road”.
Anyone who orders the single via bandcamp now gets the two studio tracks immediately (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the record and the bonus tracks the moment it’s released.
AND…there are 10 GOLDEN TICKETS hidden in this first pressing with prizes ranging from handwritten lyric sheets, personalized video performances, personalised embroidered pennant (from Hana), tickets for a show and even a 10 song request Zoom concert! You gotta be in it to win it!
The single is released the same week that Mick and band kick off their tour at the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine, on Friday November 6.
Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission & Hana & Jessie-Lee’s Bad Habits new split-single “(Still) Don’t Need Much” / “Somebody’s Fool” is out November 2 and available to preorder now from

GoChristmasComeBack
Yes folks – it’s that time of the year again!
And hasn’t this year felt like a tough one? It seems people have more and more stuff to deal with. Which we reckon is all the more reason to get out of the house and say hello to some old friends. ALICE ISABELLA RETURNS WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE ‘RECOGNISE’
For anyone craving the introspection of finding yourself. Melbourne-based indie-pop artist Alice Isabella returns with her second single, Recognise, an emotionally charged release that explores identity, self-reflection, and the challenges of finding yourself amid life’s uncertainties. Arriving Friday, 30 October 2026, Recognise marks an exciting new chapter for the emerging singer-songwriter, who will celebrate the release with a headline performance at The Esplanade Hotel on Saturday, 7 November.
Written during a period of uncertainty, Recognise captures the frustration of feeling disconnected from yourself, questioning who you are and trying to make sense of where life is taking you.
“I wrote Recognise after grappling with the idea of time. I needed to reflect on my past, present, and future because of all the uncertainties I felt. I don’t always recognise my reflection and feel angry at myself for just feeling too much. The simple things in life seemed confusing, so I wanted to dig deeper and poke fun at myself for taking things too seriously. I hope this can resonate with people and make people feel seen,” Alice says.
Blending layered guitars, rich vocals and bright pop-rock production, Recognise balances emotional vulnerability with an infectious, contemporary sound. Drawing comparisons to the depth of Olivia Rodrigo, Maggie Rogers and Missy Higgins, Alice brings a distinct perspective to the complexities of growing up and finding your place in the world. Recorded, produced, mixed and mastered in Los Angeles with The Brandt Brothers, the track pairs Alice’s personal songwriting with the expertise of a production team whose credits include major US film, television and advertising projects, like Dance Moms, Lifetime productions, the Brooklyn Nets and the YES Network.
The new release follows Alice’s debut single, Crawl, which earned support from community radio stations 3RRR, 4ZZZ and SYN FM, alongside a sold-out headline debut show at Nighthawks. Alice’s growing profile has continued to build throughout Melbourne’s live music scene. She has opened for Taylor Sheridan at his Bird’s Basement performances, appeared at Federation Square’s GARAGEBAND 2026 event and performed at St Kilda Festival 2026 as part of the JBL Busking Series. Fellow performer and Taylor Sheridan had nothing but praise for Alice: “The audience was captivated from the moment she stepped on stage, and her authenticity and storytelling are something special.”
Adding to the momentum, Alice recently won a social media competition judged on talent and fan demand, earning a coveted support slot for Sam McGovern at his upcoming Melbourne show. With a sound that moves between love, identity, nostalgia and adventure, Alice Isabella is carving out a space for honest, emotionally resonant indie-pop. As she continues to build connections with audiences and fellow emerging artists, her upcoming headline show will also showcase a new wave of local talent, with Samantha Chard and Mathilde Anne joining the lineup.
With Recognise, Alice invites listeners to embrace the messiness of self-discovery, find humour in their own overthinking and feel a little less alone in the process.

KIP MOORE RELEASES TWO SONGS “DYIN’ ON THE VINE” AND “JANIE’S SONG (ORIGINAL AMERICAN HEARTBREAK)” OUT NOW
Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Kip Moore releases a two-song project today, ‘Janie’s Song (Original American Heartbreak)’ and ‘Dyin’ On The Vine’. Produced by Moore and Thomas ‘Tawgs’ Salter, the project reunites Moore, Tawgs and Hillary Lindsey, who co-wrote both tracks together and embodies Moore’s intrinsic rock n’roll grit, with thought-provoking lyrics that add tension to the tracks. The releases follow on from Moore’s latest album, Reason to Believe, which was released in May this year.
‘Dyin’ On The Vine’ carries an unhinged pulse that rides the cliff’s edge though-out the track. Moore says, “I write music about my human experiences and I don’t think about genre lines or human confines. I simply try to match the intensity of my lyric with the sonic nature I’m feeling in that exact moment. The world is spinning in a dangerous direction, and I simply wrote about that in the most raw visceral way I knew how.”
‘Janie’s Song’ throttles from start to finish, with mixtures of punk and rock, along with a country-crafted story telling lyric. Moore says, “When I was originally working on a lyric years ago for American Heartbreak, it was a dark song, but I couldn’t quite land the direction. Fast forward to last winter, I finally knew how to land the ship. I was surfing in a different country last winter and I kept seeing this young girl, maybe mid 30’s, pushing a cart around town. I’d go home thinking about her and what events led to this tragic detour in her life. I mean, she was someone’s little baby at one point and now here she is.”
His second full-length record in two years, Reason To Believe makes good on Moore’s promise to release more music than ever before after signing his new global partnership with Virgin, which launched with 2025’s critically acclaimed Solitary Tracks. Reflective but grounded, Reason To Believe features his most raw, personal, and achingly honest songwriting to date. While recording the album, Moore lost his mentor, champion, first producer and songwriter Brett James. He even named the album after a song James loved that Moore wrote years ago alongside longtime collaborator Dan Couch and Scott Stepakoff.
Album highlights include the guitar-slinging lead single “Levee”, featuring guest vocals by Hillary Lindsey. Billboard hailed it as “a sinewy rock outing that showcases his livewire vocals,” while Music Row called it “swampy, steaming, and rocking, with shades of Creedence and a lot of menacing attitude.” The pensive, soul-stirring follow-up “Faith in the Wind” prompted Country Central to rave “This musing cut is right in his wheelhouse,” while All Country News stated “he doubles down on the kind of restless, soul-searching storytelling that has long set him apart in the country landscape.”
Moore will bring the Reason To Believe Tour to Australia and New Zealand in October and November and is sure to include his chart-topping hits and fan favourites that have made Moore one of country music’s most electrifying live performers. Tickets details are available here.

GRUB RELEASE SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM + SHARE FOCUS TRACK ‘GOAL POST’
Fremantle five-piece GRUB have today released their self-titled debut album via Wing Sing Records, alongside focus single “Goal Post”, capping off a huge few months for one of the country’s most exciting new bands.
Led by songwriter and frontwoman Matilda Beales, alongside Peter Bibby (drums), Edo Ekic (bass), Duncan Strachan (guitar) and Mitch McDonald (guitar), GRUB arrive with a nine-track debut that’s darkly funny, brutally honest and impossible to neatly categorise.
Album focus track “Goal Post” takes aim at what it means to be an artist in the age of the internet: clinging to self-worth through fame by proxy, chasing validation and dealing with the relentless pressure to somehow “make it big” in music.
“The lyrics of Goal Post are me trying to make sense of existing in the music machine,” explains Beales, “How the never-ending goal of trying to hit the big time will surely leave us all feeling shit about ourselves at the end of the day.”
The album arrives following a massive few months for GRUB. Lead single “Shake It” has been absolutely smashed on triple j, with further support from almost every community radio station in the country. The band also scored triple j Unearthed Feature Artist in September.
On the live front, GRUB recently sold out their Perth headline show, and have recently announced they’ll support Cash Savage and the Last Drinks at the Croxton in Melbourne, and play a headline show at The Tote the same weekend.
Tickets available via Oztix.
One of GRUB’s earliest champions was The Peep Tempel’s Blake Scott, who first heard the band unexpectedly on RTRFM: “I was driving over the Fremantle Bridge… I couldn’t pull my car over quick enough to find out who it was. I thought ‘this is fucking amazing,’ rang Adam and said ‘we need to sign this band’.”
That reaction ultimately lead GRUB to Wing Sing Records, where they now release their debut with plenty of momentum behind them.
At the centre of GRUB is Beales’ songwriting, digging into sobriety, stability, relationships, ambition and the messier corners of being human with plenty of humour and zero interest in sanding down the edges.
Recorded at Fremantle’s Rada Studios, the album was engineered by Mitch McDonald and Dan Carroll, mixed by McDonald and mastered by Nao Anzai.
With a debut album now out in the world, a sold-out hometown show under their belt and some serious support building around them, now’s a very good time to get acquainted with GRUB.
GRUB is out now.
“GRUB proving again why they’re one of the most exciting emerging acts in the country. LIVE LAUGH GRUB!” – Andy Gavrilovic, triple j Unearthed

DROP CITY COMPLETE TRIUMPHANT RESURRECTION WITH JUBILANT SINGLE ‘ALIVE’
Having reformed in 2025 after a 30-year hiatus, Eora/Sydney’s cult psychedelic rock band Drop City have today fully realised their return with the thrilling single ‘Alive’ – out through Cheersquad Records & Tapes.
Click to stream / view ‘Alive’
Produced by Drop City & Liam Judson (Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Cloud Control), ‘Alive’ is a joyous, sun-drenched anthem, driven by a delightful rolling rhythm and bouncing bassline. The choruses exude glorious euphoria as the organ lifts the song into a full-blown celebration, enriched by expressive lead guitar and splashing tambourine.
Frontman Matthew J. Tow provides insight behind the track’s inspirations:
“This one had been kicking around for a bit. It was originally inspired by a track I was working on with Collin Hegna from The Brian Jonestown Massacre. I decided to create something new from the skeleton. I wanted to get cosmic, like most songs throughout my life; if they aren’t about someone, they’re usually some sort of big cosmic conundrum.”
Accompanying the release is the charming animated music video produced by longtime collaborator and dear friend Simon Killalea (Sidewinder, The Fauves, Decoder Ring), who also designed the track’s artwork.
Formed in Eora/Sydney in 1993, Drop City established themselves as one of Australia’s most respected cult psychedelic rock bands. Across their initial run, they released five albums, toured Australia, the UK, Canada, and the United States, played Big Day Out twice, Meredith Music Festival, and shared stages with The Stone Roses, Stereolab, Yo La Tengo, Manic Street Preachers, Swervedriver, Luna, Powderfinger, You Am I, Hoodoo Gurus, and The Posies. Their iconic music was even released internationally via Sub Pop Records.
Drop City reformed in 2025 after a 30-year hiatus to play live and celebrate the seminal vinyl reissue of their classic album ‘Magic Transistor Radio’. The reunion shows sold out, drew rave reviews, and saw the reissue charting at #44 on the ARIA Australian Artist Albums Chart and #9 on the AIR Independent Albums Chart.
Now firmly re-established as an active recording and touring force, ‘Alive’ marks Drop City’s first major studio release in decades.”It’s all mad, it’s all weird, all of the time… So what do you do? Get the band back together again; that’s what!” concludes Tow.
‘Alive’ is available worldwide now through Cheersquad Records & Tapes

BRISBANE ROCK GROUP SPEIRA UNVEIL NEW SINGLE ‘HOLE’ FROM FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM ARKOMAI
Coming together over a shared love of unfiltered and bold rock/alternative music, Brisbane four-piece SPEIRA have wasted no time in generating heat around their music and impenetrable live chemistry.
The group have been building consistently since making their debut last year and with a busy summer ahead, the band excitedly takes their next big step forward with the announcement of their debut album: ARKOMAI. Released on Thursday 5 November via Yama Nui Records, the album is a culmination of shared experiences and raw perspectives, delivered through a musical lens that feels vibrant and sincere.
From it, SPEIRA today share a taste of their forthcoming studio record, in the bold single ‘HOLE’. Recorded with ARIA winning producer Paulie Bromley (george, The Beautiful Girls), at the beautiful Yama Nui Studios on the Sunshine Coast, the group was able to lock in and explore their creative chemistry in a way that has brought them closer together as a unit.
As the band describes of ‘HOLE’, “Beneath the instrumental uplifting energy, lyrically, ‘HOLE’ dives into the darkness behind the smile – the pain, isolation and hidden struggles that can exist beneath the smile and surface. As isolating as this feels at the moment, we hope ‘HOLE’ can make listeners feel less alone. You never really know what goes on behind closed doors.” SPEIRA
Though creating the music was described as a “fulfilling, yet demanding time”, SPEIRA have been immensely grateful for the opportunity to immerse themselves completely in the process.
“We got to truly live and breathe our music and log out. Though, we are all perfectionists when it comes to our art. Working with Paulie is always an absolute blessing, though. I swear he can see straight into my mind. When we all get into the studio together, it feels like pure flow. He is a true wizard.” SPEIRA, COCO SCOTT
Since their inception, SPEIRA have racked up impressive live moments, landing a BIGSOUND showcase in 2025 with Yama Nui, as well as supporting the likes of The Living End, Dune Rats, Cosmic Psychos and more in their debut year. To date, their music has been supported across radio via the likes of 4ZZZ, 2SER, ABC Sunshine Coast, I Heart Radio and more.
Inspired by a sonic palette that includes artists like Deftones, Saosin, Paramore and others, SPEIRA are fast on track to becoming one of Brisbane’s most exciting and formidable rock groups. With the release of ARKOMAI, they are set to cement their place.
‘HOLE’ is released FRIDAY 9 OCTOBER.
ARKOMAI is released THURSDAY 5 NOVEMBER.

SLOWLY SLOWLY ANNOUNCE SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM EVERYBODY TELLS THE TRUTH
OUT FEBRUARY 5 2027 VIA NETTWERK

“PARALLEL”
PLAYING GOOD THINGS FESTIVAL + GREAT ESCAPE NYE THIS DECEMBER
Today, Australian indie-rock favourites Slowly Slowly announce their sixth studio album, Everybody Tells The Truth, set for release February 5 2027 via Nettwerk Music Group. The announcement arrives alongside new single “Parallel”, the latest preview of a record that looks across the band’s decade-long catalogue to understand what makes Slowly Slowly unmistakable.
After five albums and more than a decade together, frontman and songwriter Ben Stewart approached album six by looking back. While searching for what came next, he dug into every era of Slowly Slowly’s catalogue, pulling apart the sounds, ideas, and instincts that had always felt most true to them. The result is what Stewart describes as an almost self-titled album – “an unadulterated version of Slowly Slowly that doesn’t sound like any other band.”
Getting there meant stripping the creative process back completely. Where 2025’s Forgiving Spree came together across songwriting sessions split between Melbourne and LA and marked the first time Stewart brought collaborators into the writing process, Everybody Tells The Truth was written entirely by Stewart alone. Working from his own studio, he created hundreds of ideas, scrapped and reworked them, spending long stretches in isolation following instinct and searching for the songs that felt undeniable.
“The whole catalogue has informed where this step went,” Stewart says. “It captures the raw truth of ‘Chamomile’, the storytelling of ‘St. Leonards’, the emotional impact and revelation of ‘Race Car Blues’, the playfulness of ‘Daisy Chain’, and the explosive precision of ‘Forgiving Spree’.
“Every song on the record was written in solitude with a guitar – things were fleshed out from there. At the same time, it was the first time I’d zoomed out with a global perspective. My own life bled into that as well – the shifting circumstances within my life felt like I was standing in quicksand, and then you’re watching the world sink at the same time on a big scale.
“The whole concept of truth is baked into these songs, because that’s what saves us in the end. Being true to ourselves is the only beacon that we can aim for.”
PRE-SAVE: SLOWLY SLOWLY – EVERYBODY TELLS THE TRUTH
https://slowlyslowly.ffm.to/everybodytellsthetruth
That search for something unmistakably their own became inseparable from the album’s central idea. Across Everybody Tells The Truth, Stewart explores truth as both an unavoidable force and an essential anchor, as the turbulence of his own life began to collide with the chaos of the wider world. These are songs about what remains when the façades fall away – the uncomfortable things we admit to ourselves, the stories we tell to get through them, and what happens when there is nowhere left to hide.
Moving freely between huge singalong moments, playful left turns, and the kind of unfiltered honesty that has always been at the heart of Slowly Slowly, Everybody Tells The Truth doesn’t sit still for long. Guitar-driven and hook-heavy, it’s packed with Stewart’s knack for turning deeply personal observations into something you can shout back from the front row.
Following the album’s first introduction with “Sacrosaint”, new single “Parallel” offers perhaps the most playful glimpse yet into where Everybody Tells The Truth goes. Described by Stewart as “probably the most tongue-in-cheek song on the record”, the track explores dissociation and memory gaps through a collision of early-2000s rock, pop-punk energy, and a near Jackson 5-esque groove – all driven by the band’s instinct for a ridiculously catchy melody.
“Parallel” was road-tested live during Slowly Slowly’s 2025 regional Australian tour, long before the band entered the studio to record it. The early crowd reaction made its place on the final album an easy decision.
“It’s about dissociation – a montage of different times in my life where I’ve switched off and not been present,” Stewart says. “I’ve always had a very weak ability to recall memories over my life, and I think I came to the realisation I was mentally heading elsewhere during formative years, so they didn’t make their way into the filing cabinets of my brain. It’s a lighthearted dig at dissociation and how memory obscures things like the truth.”
WATCH & SHARE: SLOWLY SLOWLY – “PARALLEL”
https://slowlyslowly.ffm.to/parallel
After more than a decade of finetuning what the band could become, Everybody Tells The Truth is Slowly Slowly at their most instinctive, unguarded, ambitious, and unmistakably themselves yet.

December 29-January 1 – Tasmania
ABOUT SLOWLY SLOWLY: What has always set Slowly Slowly apart is their ability to turn deeply personal experiences into songs that feel universal – pairing introspective reflections, heartfelt storytelling, and sensitive sadness with clever wordplay and an instinct for a huge melodic payoff. Following the success of Forgiving Spree (2025) – the band’s third Top 10 ARIA album – the Melbourne three-piece are entering their most defining chapter yet. Written entirely in solitude and self-produced by frontman Ben Stewart, their forthcoming sixth studio album Everybody Tells The Truth serves as a raw, unadulterated synthesis of the band’s entire history. The result is a body of work Stewart simply describes as, “intense”.
Since emerging in 2015 with debut single “Empty Lungs”, Slowly Slowly have grown into an unshakeable musical force, built around a fiercely loyal fanbase and a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling live bands. Across five acclaimed studio albums – 2016’s Chamomile, 2018’s St. Leonards, 2020’s Race Car Blues (#8 ARIA Charts), 2022’s Daisy Chain (#5 ARIA Charts), and 2025’s Forgiving Spree (#1 Australian Album, #8 ARIA Charts) – Slowly Slowly have continually evolved without losing the emotional honesty at the heart of their music.
Their live resume includes performing at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on their biggest-ever headline tour, completing their first UK/European headline run, and sharing stages with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stand Atlantic, Crawlers, Amy Shark and Ocean Alley. Backed by collaborative tracks with Frank Turner, Alex Lahey, and Grayscale, alongside festival appearances at Good Things, Splendour in The Grass, UNIFY, Groovin The Moo, Party In The Paddock, and Yours and Owls, Slowly Slowly enter this new chapter at the absolute peak of their creative powers.

GABRIELLA CILMI’S NEW ALBUM ‘PURE LOVE’ IS OUT NOW – LISTEN HERE
“Pure Love is not just Cilmi’s best album; it’s one of the best albums of the year. Making the most of her warm, smoky contralto, it blends rock, soul and pop, drawing inspiration from artists such as Aretha Franklin, Carole King and The Rolling Stones” – Sydney Morning Herald
VIC + NSW LIVE SHOW DATES KICK OFF ON OCTOBER 15. TICKETS ONSALE HERE
Gabriella Cilmi today releases her long-awaited new album ‘Pure Love’ – her first in thirteen years! It’s a return to the spotlight for the international #1 artist, ‘Sweet About Me’ hitmaker and six-time ARIA Award winner – Listen HERE.
‘Pure Love’ represents a triumphant rebirth for Gabriella. Her warm unmistakably expressive voice wraps itself around the deep soul, jazz and classic rock that has always been closest to her heart. The result is a heady, modern take on classic influences such as Carole King, Roberta Flack and Janis Joplin with the musicianship of the Muscle Shoals tradition. Its organic vibe comes from recording live to tape, improvising upon initial ideas while working with producer Peter Miles (Dodie, Orla Gartland) at Middle Farm Studios, Devon.
In celebration of the new album Gabriella has also announced her return to Australia with live show dates this month in New South Wales and Victoria where tickets are available now HERE.
Gabriella Cilmi – Australia 2026 Tour Dates:
Melbourne – Birds Basement – Thursday 15th October
Sydney – Django’s – Saturday 17th October
Avoca (NSW) – Avoca Theatre – Sunday 18th October
Moorabbin (VIC) – Arco Bar – Thursday 22nd October
Lara (VIC) – Founders & Co – Friday 23rd October
Werribee (VIC) – Studio 185 – Saturday 24th October
Gabriella says, “For a long time I wasn’t sure what kind of record I wanted to make. I spent years running away from myself, believing the key to this album was abandoning my past. Then I was shown a video of me at 12, belting out the Rolling Stones’ ‘Jumping Jack Flash’, stomping my feet and singing my heart out, and it hit me. It reconnected me with her, her joy, and the music that made me want to sing in the first place.
So I began to revisit all the versions of myself: the girl who was signed at 13, the teenager living out her dream playing around the world, and the woman with a music industry hangover who felt lost and misunderstood. To make this record I had to journey inward, which is why ‘Pure Love’ feels like a homecoming.
Learning to let go of perfection in the recording process was a big part of it too. We recorded to tape, with the whole band together in one room, and I really think that helped us capture an extra piece of magic.”
Lyrically, the album sees Gabriella sharing themes and reflections upon confidence, empowerment and self-determination throughout, with an acceptance that life’s mistakes are there to be learned from. The latter is the spirit within the new focus track ‘What We Do’. It’s a song which grows in stature, with stirringly soulful call-and-response gospel vocals that acknowledge that the journey of life is full of imperfections – but when they come from a place of love and good intentions, it’s all part of the process.
Beyond its singles, the ‘Pure Love’ album exemplifies the new found freedom and inspiration that Gabriella is embracing with this new chapter in her story. Some songs revisit her past. ‘Too Far Gone’ documents the things she was told when she started standing up for herself as a teenager in the pop world (“It’s not very ladylike to put up a fight”), while ‘No To A King’ confronts the power imbalances that were an all-too-common experience of that time. Yet there’s also the joy of the current moment with ‘No Apologies’ tackling the security of being accepted for who you are, and the tender, climactic ‘Love Me Like It’s The End Of The World’, a declaration of wanting to be loved that was informed by her partner’s love of disaster movies.
Physical copies of ‘Pure Love’ are available to buy HERE. Gabriella’s official store offers a signed Goldy Locks vinyl with a sticker sheet, a signed CD, and black vinyl. All album bundles add a signed art print.
2026 has seen Gabriella play a BRITS Week for War Child show alongside Jack Savoretti and Katherine Jenkins, a set at The Great Escape, and a full UK tour as guest to Beverley Knight. After the Australian headline tour this month she returns to the UK for a tour that includes a London show at Bush Hall.

DINGO SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘BLEED IT DRY’ & HITS THE ROAD WITH THE RELEASE OF HIS SECOND STUDIO ALBUM ‘NIGHTWIRE’
For Immediate Release – Friday 9th October 2026: For more than a decade, Dingo has criss-crossed the country with a guitar in his hands. Best known as the formidable guitarist alongside Kasey Chambers, the troubadour has steadily carved out a reputation of his own. Now, Dingo steps firmly into the spotlight with his second studio album Nightwire, arriving alongside the gritty new single ‘Bleed It Dry’.
A textured collection of folk, blues and alt-country, Nightwire pairs weathered guitars and story-driven songwriting with the organic sound of a band allowed to breathe. At its heart it’s a record about freedom, and finding meaning in a life spent in motion.
“The album ‘Nightwire’, much like the title track, is themed around freedom in life. These songs are a dive into a greater understanding of my own life and the ways I have attempted to make sense of it. From songs about life on the road, love, friendship and family, ‘Nightwire’ is a record for anyone who is grappling with the beautiful and confusing ebbs and flows of life.”
Opening the album, ‘Bleed It Dry’ is a tenacious country song about a relationship on the brink of collapse that doubles as something bigger: a story about giving everything to the path you choose. Bluesy guitar and singer-songwriter intimacy collide as Dingo and his band stretch out around the song.
“This is one of my favourite songs on the album. It’s really a song written about diving all in one way or the other, for me it’s related to life, written through the lense of a withering relationship.”
Produced and engineered by Jordan Power (Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Powderfinger) at The Rabbit Hole Recording Studio, ‘Bleed It Dry’ captures a tension that runs throughout Nightwire – tough and vulnerable in equal measure.
“This is one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written so I was precious about the way it was produced. Working with Jordan Power was an amazing experience as I watched him effortlessly lead the band and myself exactly where we needed to be to create what the song needed.”
Across Nightwire, Dingo looks at freedom from both sides. The Bob Cronk co-written title track bottles the feeling of a life on the road, ‘Live in the West’ leans into his blues influences and ‘Myna Bird’ contemplates surrendering the things that cannot be controlled.
But the record continually finds its way back to people. ‘The Dining Table’, featuring Kasey Chambers, celebrates the rare moments when family and friends gather in one place; ‘Autumn’ explores falling in love; while ‘It Feels Sad to Be in Love’ considers the uneasy coexistence of love and sadness.
The album also draws on a colourful cast of collaborators and lived experiences. ‘Fever Dream’ features Woodie McClean and Felicity Kircher, NZ songbird, Jenny Mitchell appears on ‘The Payphone’, and Aussie rock legend, Ian Moss joins Dingo on the hopeful ‘Lonely Night’. On ‘Fighting Light’, Dingo draws on his years working at a Central Coast rehabilitation centre for a song dedicated to the underdog.
Having recently toured the East Coast with Adam Harvey and Busby Marou, Dingo has spent the run presenting his new songs in their rawest acoustic form. The singer-songwriter also recently appeared at Gympie Music Muster and, just returned from performing his own show at Deni Ute Muster.
Dingo is taking Nightwire on the road for his first headline ticketed tour, before joining Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley for select dates on their ‘Together Alone’ tour.
“I can’t wait to be heading out on the road for the ‘Nightwire Album Launch Tour’. This is my first ever headline ticketed tour and I couldn’t be more excited to share my new album with everyone at these shows.”
Beyond his own career, Dingo has spent around eight years involved with Our Rainbow House, a small school in Zambia where he and his partner volunteer as music teachers and write songs with the children. This year he returned with his partner to record an EP of those songs to help raise money for the school.
It’s another thread that sits naturally alongside Nightwire – a record shaped by the people, places and experiences collected along the way.
With ‘Bleed It Dry’ leading the charge, Nightwire captures Dingo somewhere between movement and home, freedom and responsibility, love and heartache, letting the music make sense of it all.

SEGRESSION Australian Metal Icons Celebrate Three Decades With The First Seg Fest on May 15, 2027
Thirty years is a long time in heavy music. Scenes change, trends come and go, venues disappear and bands form, implode, reform and disappear again and again.
Segression are still here.
Formed in Wollongong in 1996, Segression emerged from an Australian heavy music scene that would go on to produce some of the country’s most enduring acts. Across three decades, six albums, countless Australian shows and stages shared with Ozzy Osbourne, Slipknot, Pantera, Machine Head, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad and more, they’ve built a legacy that stretches far beyond their hometown.
But 2027 isn’t about looking backwards.
To celebrate 30 years of Segression, the band are bringing it all home with the inaugural
SEG FEST, an all day heavy music festival at Waves, in their home town of Wollongong on
Saturday, May 15, 2027.
The most exciting part of reaching 30 years is discovering that the music never got old. A new generation is finding the heavy music that came before them. Younger fans are digging through Australian metal history, discovering bands, records and scenes that existed before they did, while long time fans are finding that the music which mattered to them decades ago still hits just as hard today.
That’s not nostalgia. That’s staying power and Segression have plenty of it.
After periods of activity and hiatus, the band enter their fourth decade at a time when Australian heavy music’s old guard is experiencing an extraordinary resurgence. Not because somebody decided it was time for a retro revival, but because great riffs, great songs and great live bands have a habit of surviving regardless of the changes around them. And rather than simply throw themselves an anniversary show, Segression decided to build something bigger.
SEG FEST is a celebration of Australian heavy music. Past, present and future, in the city where Segression’s own story began.
Joining Segression for the inaugural festival are some absolutely icons of the Australian heavy scene including
Toe To Toe and Mortality
Those holding firm in the middle ground but still playing killer live sets
Our Last Enemy, Deprivation and Topnovil
And the new guard, proving heavy music never dies
PistonFist, Backhand, The Witching Hour and Skarmekal
Nine hours. One stage. Heavy music from every generation mixing styles and genres under the same roof.

Saturday, May 15: Waves, Wollongong 18+

VICTORIA K Releases New Single, Incubus
Special Guests of both Katatonia & Paradise Lost This Month!
Australian gothic/modern metal act VICTORIA K unveil their new single “Incubus”, taken from their forthcoming third studio album “The Pleasure of Sorrow”. The release comes ahead of a busy October for the Melbourne-based band, who opened for Katatonia over the weekend and are set to support Paradise Lost on their upcoming Australian dates later this month.
Following the previously released “Oh So Weary” and “Take It All”, the new single offers a further insight into the band’s evolving sound bringing together the atmospheric depth of gothic metal, modern heaviness and a more adventurous approach to songwriting. With influences ranging from Spiritbox to Evanescence and Lacuna Coil, VICTORIA K continue to explore the space between melody, intensity and electronic experimentation.
“Incubus” deals with the difficulty of letting go of relationships that have lost their meaning and the emotional conflict between holding on to familiar memories and accepting the need to move forward. Originally written during a challenging period in Victoria Knight’s life, the song now reflects a sense of personal growth and acceptance.
That emotional contrast carries through to the music. Ethereal passages and atmospheric textures give way to heavier, more energetic sections while a brief, impressionistic piano interlude adds to the track’s dreamlike quality. Rather than following a conventional structure, “Incubus” moves naturally between moments of introspection and intensity, allowing the arrangement to develop alongside the emotions behind the lyrics.
Listen to “Incubus” here:
https://lnk.to/tpChbx
The release also comes at a significant time for frontwoman Victoria Knight, who recently appeared on Season 15 of The Voice Australia, bringing her distinctive vocal style to a wider national audience.
These developments form part of an important new chapter for VICTORIA K. Their forthcoming album, “The Pleasure of Sorrow” expands on the gothic and progressive metal foundations of their previous work, incorporating elements of modern metalcore, hardcore and electronic music. Produced by Lee Bradshaw with mixing and mastering by Lance Prenc, the record reflects a more personal and exploratory direction for the band, both musically and lyrically.
VICTORIA K will also return to the stage this October for a series of Australian shows alongside two established names in international metal. On October 10 they opened for Swedish progressive metal act Katatonia at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre, and will join British gothic metal pioneers Paradise Lost as special guests for three dates in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

ELEINE Drop New Single & Music Video “Ich Sehe Dich”
Album “The Water Taste Of Blood” Out December 4
Swedish metal powerhouse ELEINE have dropped their new single and music video “Ich Sehe Dich”, taken from their highly anticipated fifth studio album, “The Water Taste Of Blood”, arriving December 4 via Algoth Records.
Where previous singles painted the picture of falling empires of lies, betrayal, and the damage left in their wake, “Ich Sehe Dich” brings the reckoning face-to-face as the most direct statement from the upcoming album. The song thrives on the striking contrast of beautifully melodic verses that steadily build tension until heavy, static, chuggy riffs shatter the calm and a three-word German chorus lands like a verdict: Ich Sehe Dich. I see you. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the ELEINE Legion’s favorite “Mein Herz Brennt”, the track is stern, heavy, and unapologetic. It unmasks manipulation and toxic shame, written for the exact moment you stop letting someone’s lies shape you and the people around you. Unflinching and brutal, it cuts straight through deceit, unveiling an intense, powerful new dimension in ELEINE’s signature sound.
In ELEINE’s own words: “Have you ever wanted to say “I see you” straight to the face of someone who tries to hurt you, or others, through spreading lies?
“Ich Sehe Dich” is about that exact moment.
Yet again, another chorus of ours felt so natural to have in another language. The words fell perfectly into place and emphasizes the heaviness of the message within the song.”
– Rikard Ekberg & Madeleine Liljestam (ELEINE)

Rock titans GRAVEYARD have officially released their highly anticipated seventh studio album, Fever, out today worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records. Coinciding with the album’s arrival, the band has premiered an official lyric video for the album’s energetic opening track, ‘Back From The Grave’.
Right from the needle drop, the captivating groove of ‘Back From The Grave’ makes it unmistakably clear where the band is headed this time around: a triumphant return to GRAVEYARD’s heavy psych and heavy blues roots. Channelling the electrifying, vintage power of legendary albums like their much-loved classic Hisingen Blues, the track sets an explosive tone for the entire record—drenched in thick fuzz and fuelled by a relentless rhythm section while still maintaining their soul-soaked grit.

Mixed by Pelle Gunnerfeldt—widely renowned for capturing the ferocious live energy of bands like The Hives, Refused, and Viagra Boys—and mastered by Robin Schmidt at 24-96 Mastering, Fever captures the unvarnished, high-voltage power of the Swedish quartet at full tilt.
Complemented by the record’s bold visual identity created by Dutch artist Maarten Donders, Fever marks a celebrated return to form for the two-time Swedish chart-toppers.

SHERYL CROW DELIVERS SEVEN NEW SONGS ON 12TH STUDIO ALBUM PICK YOU UP
Nine-time GRAMMY® Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Sheryl Crow has released her 12th studio album, Pick You Up, available now via Old Green Barn Productions LLC, with physical editions arriving November 20 on vinyl, cassette and CD. The seven-track collection marks the latest chapter in Crow’s extraordinary career, bringing together her unmistakable voice, timeless songwriting and the honest, human perspective that have defined her music for more than three decades. Alongside the album’s release, Crow has shared the official music video for the album’s title track, “Pick You Up” – WATCH HERE.
Written and produced by Crow and longtime collaborator Jeff Trott, Pick You Up returns to the AAA/Rock/Singer-Songwriter/Americana sound that made so many people fall in love with her in the ‘90s. Across seven songs, Crow reflects on the world around her with characteristic warmth, wit and candor, transforming the experience of living in an increasingly overwhelming moment into music that seeks out beauty and meaning.
“I find I go to songwriting these days to make sense of what is going on inside and all around me,” Crow said. “These songs were all born of the experience of living in this moment. There is so much chaos and information coming at us that it can feel overwhelming and paralyzing. My hope is that when you hear these songs, you feel that this is only of a moment and that life is a beautiful gift worth sharing.”
The title track, “Pick You Up,” is a song of encouragement about the importance of having an ally or friend who stands by you through life’s ups and downs. Crow says the song is a reminder that while it can take time to figure out how life works, having someone in your corner is a true blessing.
The album was first introduced with “Freedom Bus (feat. Jesse Welles)” and “Freight Train,” both of which offered an early glimpse into the record’s exploration of freedom, loneliness and connection. Since its release, “Freedom Bus” has reached #9 on the Americana Charts, while Pick You Up climbed to #13 prior to its release, signaling strong early momentum for the album. The album has also received major out-of-home and DSP support across the board, further building momentum around its release.
Pick You Up is available now on all major streaming platforms and digital retailers HERE.
IRISH POWERHOUSE LYRA REINVENTS SHANE MACGOWAN’S CLASSIC “STREETS OF SORROW / BIRMINGHAM SIX” FOR TRIBUTE ALBUM 20TH CENTURY PADDY
Irish singer songwriter LYRA has unveiled her deeply emotive rendition of “Streets of Sorrow / Birmingham Six”, featured on the star studded tribute project, 20th Century Paddy – The Songs of Shane MacGowan ahead of the full album launch on November 13, 2026, LYRA’s interpretation infuses the iconic track with a haunting atmosphere and cinematic vocal power.
Originally co written by Shane MacGowan and Terry Woods for the 1988 album If I Should Fall from Grace with God, in LYRA’s hands, the track shifts from a fiery folk punk anthem into a poignant, ethereal track. Known for her soaring vocals, bold production, and emotional delivery, the Cork born artist brings a fresh, contemporary intensity to Shane MacGowan’s uncompromising lyricism.
“Being part of this album is a huge honour. Shane had this extraordinary ability to put beauty, pain and defiance into a song, and being invited to help celebrate that as an Irish artist feels very special.
What drew me to Streets of Sorrow / Birmingham Six was the way it’s written. It opens with this beautiful, sorrowful lament, and then there’s a real change in energy. Suddenly there’s fire in it. I loved that you could go from something so vulnerable to something so powerful within one song. It’s an unusual journey, and I found that really exciting. I’ve never been very good at doing things the conventional way, so there was something about it that just felt right for me.
With my version, I wanted that power to feel like people coming together. I wanted it to become an anthem you could put your whole heart into singing, with everyone beside you doing the same. There’s pain in this song, and you have to respect that, but there’s also such strength in standing up for something you believe in. I wanted to capture people supporting each other, celebrating each other and saying, I’m here, I’m with you. That feeling can give you goosebumps, and that’s what I was reaching for.
I’m in the middle of making my second album at the moment, so there’s a lot of singing, a lot of tea and a lot going on in my head! Having a number one debut was beyond anything I could have imagined, and now I’m figuring out where I want to take things next. I’m excited to let people hear what I’ve been working on.
To have this release be part of that time in my life is very special. If you’d told the girl singing away in school plays that she’d have her name on a record alongside some of these artists, she’d never have believed you.” – LYRA
20th Century Paddy – The Songs of Shane MacGowan is a 36 track tribute album celebrating the life and genius of Shane MacGowan. Described as a sonic love letter to Shane MacGowan’s catalogue, the compilation features an outstanding lineup of international icons and contemporary artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Hozier, U2, Tom Waits, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Damien Dempsey, Lisa O’Neill, The Murder Capital and many more.
LYRA’s single joins a collection that spans five decades of influence, showcasing Shane MacGowan not only as a poet, but as one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century.
“Streets of Sorrow / Birmingham Six” is available to stream on all major streaming platforms today. The full compilation 20th Century Paddy – The Songs of Shane MacGowan releases worldwide on Friday, November 13, 2026 on 3LP vinyl, 2CD, Deluxe Bookpack and digital formats.
About LYRA: Hailing from County Cork, LYRA is one of Ireland’s most striking talents, renowned for her soaring vocals, bold visual presentation, and dynamic sound. Her self titled debut album debuted at #1 on the Irish Album Charts, driven by hit singles like “Falling” (a Choice Music Prize Song of the Year nominee), “Chess,” and “Lovers.”
LYRA has collaborated with elite hitmakers including Burns (Lady Gaga), Dan Priddy (Bastille), and Phil Cook (Lewis Capaldi). Her music has been featured on major global TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Love Island, and has performed a showstopping rendition of Amhrán na bhFiann for the NFL’s Dublin debut.
A formidable live act, LYRA has supported Pink, Westlife, Blondie, and Sting, alongside major festival appearances at Reading & Leeds, Lollapalooza Berlin, and Electric Picnic. She is currently in the studio writing and recording her second album.

Nashville-based Australian JORDIE LANE releases raw, live-to-tape album Habitual + homecoming national tour and focus single ‘Good For You’
One of Australia’s finest folk-roots songwriters, Jordie Lane, is coming home. Based in Nashville, Lane returns to Australia this November and December to celebrate the release with a national tour including appearances at Town Folk Fest in Castlemaine and Queenscliff Music Festival, alongside headline shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Following his #1 ARIA Country debut and acclaimed US release Tropical Depression, which reached the Top 40 on the Americana chart, Habitual marks a bold new chapter for Lane, stripping away perfectionism in favour of raw performance, spontaneity and the human imperfections that make music feel alive.
ABC Country Radio Australia has called his music a “masterclass in songwriting,” while Americana UK described it as “sophisticated and immediate.”
Following the roots-rock energy of singles ‘New Sun’, ‘Backseat Driver’ and ‘Mood Swing’. The album’s focus track, ‘Good For You ’, brings the pace and volume down with a classic country-folk sound, laced with pedal steel and an infectious Bass line.’Good For You’ is a raw reflection on regret, self-sabotage and the struggle to change. Written by Lane and Clare Reynolds, the song follows a narrator confronting his own mistakes while questioning whether he can ever be good for the person who’s found a way into his heart and soul.
For the recording of Habitual, Lane enlisted acclaimed Nashville producer LOLLIES, known for her work with Caroline Spence, Rachel Baiman and Laura Cortese and their visions were brought to life by Jason Burger (Big Thief, Andrew Bird) on drums, Asa Brosius (Joe Henry) on pedal steel, Trevor Bahnson (Elizabeth Cook) on guitars, and Elias Broxham (Dallas Ugly) on bass. Recorded and mixed in Nashville by Drew Carroll at the legendary The Bomb Shelter (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff and Margo Price). Habitual was mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Tim Smiley, whose credits include Mavis Staples and Waxahatchee.
With the whole album recorded in just over three days and committed entirely to 2-inch, 16-track analogue tape, Habitual captures Lane at his most immediate, a blend of country, rock and blues, complete with tape hiss, grit and the unpredictable magic of a band playing together in a room, and at the heart of the album is a deceptively simple idea: habits, the good, the bad and everything in between.
The result is an album that sounds deliberately alive: direct, physical and full of the tiny imperfections that would normally be edited away. “I’ve always loved getting lost in perfectionism, hours, days, months, years working on something. But with Habitual, LOLLIES was determined to shake me outta that. Recording and mixing direct to tape, with a live band, and embracing minimalism, mistakes and the raw qualities that make it human… Lollies said, ‘OK, you get three goes at each song, then we’re moving on.’ No computer screens, no redoing vocals later. It was scary as hell, but it very quickly gave us a huge sense of relief.” – Jordie Lane.
Habitual centres around the theme of habits, good and bad, that lead the characters and stories in the songs on adventurous wild journeys to the most mundane of situations. Ultimately, it’s a record about choices made, for better or worse, and the process of surrendering to a lack of control. A personal journey but also a commentary on the world we find ourselves currently in. Habitual reflects on our increasingly digital, automated world and a growing desire to reconnect with things that are imperfectly, unmistakably human.
The approach became more than a recording technique. It became a creative statement, an analogue antidote to the oversaturation of digital and autonomous technology, and an attempt to reconnect with the physical, imperfect and human nature of making music.
The Habitual tour will also take Lane into regional communities across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with shows spanning the Mornington Peninsula, Archies Creek, Eldorado, the Northern Rivers and the Sunshine Coast.
For more than a decade, Jordie Lane has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling live folk-roots performers, taking his music to major festivals and stages across Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Along the way, he has shared stages and toured with an extraordinary list of international artists including Gotye, Billy Bragg, Cat Power, Old Crow Medicine Show, Ruthie Foster, The Moody Blues and The Waifs.
With Habitual, Lane brings that experience to a record that feels less polished by design and more alive by necessity.

JOHNSTON CITY’s new single ‘Girt By Sea’ is out now via Dashville Community Records
Taken from their forthcoming debut album Decie’s Pride
Heartland rock outfit Johnston City return with ‘Girt By Sea’, the second single to be lifted from the NSW Hunter Valley band’s forthcoming debut album Decie’s Pride.
Written by band leader & Dashville native Daniel T Johnston, the driving rock ballad touches on the exchange between a parent and a child of today, where innocence meets insight and curiosity becomes a catalyst for change.
Of the song, Johnston says; “Through the unfiltered questions of our children, we glimpse the absurdities of the lessons we once accepted without a second thought.
Their fearless curiosity shines a light on the blind spots of our generation, challenging the complacency and ignorance we never dared to confront.
Our home is girt by sea?? What does that even mean?
Our children need to ask the questions, but I have the same questions, and so it requires deep reflection and honesty, before providing the answers.”
Johnston City combine the gritty, hammer-and-tongs energy of Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger alongside the intricate, sweet vocal harmonies of 1960s doo-wop. This well-revered band of local legends deliver an anthemic, classically muscular, soulful brand of Australian rock ‘n’ roll that will leave your ears and hearts ringing for more.
Don’t miss Johnston City on their Girt By Sea Single Launch Tour:
Sunday November 1 – Bandon Grove Hall, Dungog NSW
Sunday November 8 – Mountain Culture, Katoomba NSW
Saturday November 14 – Horse & Jockey, Singleton NSW

Set against an almost orchestral backdrop of organic drums, warm instrumentation and swelling textures, “GROWING PAINS” explores the uncertainty, self doubt and quiet beauty that come with growing into yourself. Vulnerable yet understated, the track captures the feeling of looking back at who you were while learning to embrace who you are becoming, offering a more introspective side of Olivia’s evolving R&B sound.

FORTHCOMING ALBUM ALAMO FEATURES A RETURN TO HIS FOLK AND ROOTS FOUNDATION ON MOST PERSONAL SET OF SONGS TO DATE
OUT NOVEMBER 13TH ON THIRTY TIGERS
Acclaimed UK singer, songwriter, guitarist Jake Bugg has released the pensive new track “Day By Day,” off his forthcoming album Alamo (out November 13 on Thirty Tigers). Older, wiser and with a new-found perspective, this new set of songs are the most open and personal of his celebrated career.
Centered around Bugg’s masterful acoustic fingerpicking, “Day By Day” is a reflective meditation on perseverance, uncertainty, and the struggle to navigate life’s pressures while trying to make sense of the world. Despite the challenges, the central message is one of endurance and acceptance, embracing both the good and the bad, while continuing to move forward. Listen to “Day By Day”HERE.
Alamo is Bugg’s seventh studio album and his first as an independent artist after spending his career on major labels. The timing could not have lined up better at this transformative period for Bugg, both personally and professionally. On the musical side, the 11-song set finds the artist reconnecting with the roots, blues, rock and folk-driven influences of his earliest work. Alamo re-introduces an artist with more life behind him, and considerably more to share.
Alamo was produced by a multi-grammy winning duo of producers Jimmy Hogarth (Anohni, Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini) and Steve McKewan (Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Eminem).
Bugg became an international sensation as a teenager with his 2012 self-titled debut, a triple-platinum, No. 1 album in the UK that established him as one of the most remarkable young voices in British music. From 2013-2016 he made a significant impression on American audiences as well with his music, including numerous television appearances and extensive touring, while performing on major stages.
After nearly 15 years of dominating the UK and European charts and highlighting festivals all over, Jake Bugg is primed to re-connect with US audiences. His first single “Never Can Tell” is already receiving significant airplay at AAA and Americana radio.
Alamo is a testament to Jake Bugg’s matured craft as a songwriter and an open-hearted revelation of his journey. The album represents a willingness to let listeners see the person behind the music.

YAWDOESITALL PREVIEWS LONG-AWAITED NEW EP PROJECT WITH FRESH TRACK ‘LET IT GO’
Coming out the gate swinging with his latest release, YAWDOESITALL dishes up the powerful single ‘LET IT GO’. As the opening track of his forthcoming EP VENDETTA (THE SCORE), ‘LET IT GO’ is another strong statement of intent from the Sydney-based artist; an artist ready to make the remainder of 2026 completely his own.
YAWDOESITALL himself describes the new song, ““LET IT GO’ is an anthem for the leavers. Sometimes sieving out people is the greatest gift for growth. The weight sometimes hinders a lot of growth while simultaneously leading and creating a lonely path.
Leaving and redirecting your life for possibilities outside of comfort results in being a huge catalyst one needs. A lonely path helps shift focus on what matters, You. Lost the drive? Time to walk. Is a reality check for us to figure a way out regardless of circumstance. If there’s no way, make or find one.”
Co-produced by YAWDOESITALL and Harmley, with additional horns and engineering provided by Deja Miru, ‘LET IT GO’ lands with impact. Oozing with his signature flow and cadence, matched only by on-record charisma and natural confidence, YAWDOESITALL gives the listener a strong insight into what the VENDETTA (THE SCORE) EP is all about.
As a songwriter and producer, YAWDOESITALL has proven his talent, expanding his sphere of influence to co-writes and collabs with the likes of Rick Ross, Taka Perry and more. GLORYHAMMER Power Metal Titans Release Grand New Single, “Starfighters of Leuchars”
New Album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, Releases This Friday, October 16, 2026, via Napalm Records!
Nearing the release of their fifth album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, power metal heroes GLORYHAMMER share another single. In “Starfighters of Leuchars”, their hero Angus McFife V gains some help on his quest to save the universe. The song introduces his ace pilot allies – also pictured on the album’s artwork – in a stunning orchestral landscape, proving their sound equally as grand as the intricate story they’re telling. “Starfighters of Leuchars” once again comes with a lovingly animated video.
Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath releases this Friday, October 16. On the same day, GLORYHAMMER will be kicking off their tour. Starting in Toulouse, France, and ending in Glasgow in November, they will travel through Europe and the UK extensively, gathering their forces and recruiting new fighters. For the Eternal Glory of Dundee!
GLORYHAMMER about “Starfighters of Leuchars”:
“Mighty warriors! Set H-foils to attack position. You may Hoot when ready.”

The enemies of Dundee tremble as exalted power metal heroes GLORYHAMMER announce their long-awaited fifth album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath! Due for release on October 16, 2026, via Napalm Records, the album is a direct sequel to 2015’s Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards, continuing the epic saga of the McFife dynasty. Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath follows Angus McFife V, the Crown Prince of Fife last seen in 2022’s single “Fly Away,” as he ventures into a perilous journey across spacetime that will lead him to the distant future of 1993, where his destiny lies.
Across eleven tracks, the band of heroes draws upon a more diverse range of influences than ever before, without ever compromising on the hook-driven, memorable songwriting that they are known for. From classic power metal to thrash, high energy synth rock to vast, sweeping orchestral soundscapes and more. Produced by the band themselves and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe), this is GLORYHAMMER as you’ve never heard them before.
Will Angus and his allies prevail in this titanic struggle? Or will the galaxy plunge into demonic chaos? Join GLORYHAMMER and find out – For the Eternal Glory of Dundee!
GLORYHAMMER about the new album:
“Mighty warriors, rejoice! The almighty GLORYHAMMER return triumphantly with a new chapter in the long and tumultuous history of the Intergalactic Empire of Fife. Multidimensional wormholes, abandoned space stations, and EPIC BATTLES await at the final frontier of Space 1993. FOR THE ETERNAL GLORY OF DUNDEE!”

“Ultra Portam Astralem” opens Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath with menacing drums and fanfare, shaping the cinematic setup of the album. The origin of the perilous undertone is explained in the following “Ultimate Sacrifice,” a sweeping power metal track: The Space Kingdom of Fife has been forsaken and Kor-Virliath seeks a new way to seize power after Zargothrax’s failed ritual. Previously released as a standalone single, “On a Quest for Aberdeen” shines anew in an album version; and the place of its vibrant story and rousing character, Angus V, is now fully revealed as it takes its place among the wider narrative of the album. At this point in the story however, peace isn’t an option yet: Aberdeen is overrun by demons in “Die with a Sword in My Hand,” and with a sentiment such as the one contained in this song’s title, epic battles will surely follow. With a chorus full of gang shouts, this track is certain to become a live favourite. “Silver Talon” keeps morale high by addressing the mighty galactic fleet, stunningly rendered on the album artwork against the backdrop of the pestilential Terrorvortex. Ser Proletius’ legendary Space Knights of Crail join their ranks with the ace pilots whose campaigns are illustrated amidst a stunning orchestral landscape in “Starfighters of Leuchars.” Afterwards, GLORYHAMMER expands upon the story behind birthplace of Zargothrax, where the battle hardened “Warriors of Auchtermuchty” swear their allegiance to their emperor with an inescapably catchy sing-along chorus. Elsewhere in space, majestic melodies echo through the derelict halls of an abandoned spaceship, as Angus is guided to an unexpected long-lost ally, taking him one step closer to the ultimate goal of “Pax Galactica.” Electronic soundscapes lead into energetic “Demonic Devotion” which has the song’s protagonist, long trapped in his own mind, trying to reconcile with the destruction in his wake while “Hammer of Fate” sets the scene for what’s to come, but is it the fate we have all come to expect? The story concludes with the bombastic monolith of “The Celestial Warhost of the Dundonian Empire Marches to Space Against the Dark Sorcerer: Final Assault on Battlemoon X-22,” an epic nearing 13 minutes of playtime, split into four ever-so-theatrical chapters. As previously seen with GLORYHAMMER, the narration is expanded through voice lines of a host of legendary characters, as they engage in mortal battle to change the fate of the galaxy…
DROPOUT KINGS Arizona Trap Metal Unit Drop Video for “Deadname”
New Album Yokai Available Now
Last year, trap metal progenitors DROPOUT KINGS dropped Yokai, the final record featuring enigmatic frontman Adam Ramey following his untimely passing. After bringing together a career-spanning lineup of Kings current and past, the band took this celebration of Ramey’s life on the road to share with fans as everyone tried to heal from the shock. Lauded by fans and critics alike, with Nu Metal Agenda stating that “the name Dropout Kings should be on more people’s lips, no matter what the band’s next move may be”, Yokai proved to be a unifying force to a hurting community.
Post-release, the band has also released the video for “Deadname”. The neon-tinged, tumultuous digital visuals heighten the emotional song’s desperate energy. A mixture of They Live and the Ninja Turtles, there’s a subterranean vibe to the music video. The band is violently illuminated with vibrant, flashing flares of color that paint them in exciting glows.
About the video, DROPOUT KINGS’ Black Cat Bill states:
“Some songs you sing, others you let the spirits speak through you. This is ‘Deadname.'”

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, DROPOUT KINGS fuse the raw energy of nu‑metal and rap, a synergy Adam helped forge from the very beginning. Just weeks before his tragic passing on May 19, 2025 at age 32, Adam completed the finishing touches on what he considered the band’s most personal and powerful album to date.
Yokai is more than an album – it’s a legacy. Across its tracks, the influence of Adam’s dynamic stage presence and lyrical authenticity resonates profoundly. The album channels the same heart‑pounding aggression and rap‑rock fusion that brought hits like “Virus” to the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts, but with an added emotional depth that can only come from one final shared chapter.
DROPOUT KINGS said upon the announcement of the album:
“It’s with an incredible mix of emotion and devotion that we announce the release of our new album, Yokai! However, so much more than just new music, this album is our greatest dedication to the late legend, new father and cherished brother, Adam Ramey. Not just entertainment, but a testimony to the ambition, struggle, pain and indomitable will that has made the Dropout Kings who they are. Not only a journey into the hearts and souls of the band during a time of their greatest loss as well as the experience of Trap Metal’s evolution, but the soundtrack to the realization of dreams and the defeat of nightmares across the world. We ask that you listen, enjoy and join us in the mission of not just uplifting and remembering the spirit of one of the best men we’ll ever know, but in creating a better world so that those like you, him and us can LIVE better and with brighter futures ahead.”
HEATHEN Bay Area Icons To Unleash New Album Lifetime in Hell on February 19, 2027 via Napalm Records
Explosive First Single “Escapegoat” Released
Bay Area thrash icons HEATHEN make a triumphant return, announcing their forthcoming magnum opus Lifetime in Hell, dropping February 19, 2027, via Napalm Records.
Alongside the album news, they have unleashed the explosive first single, “Escapegoat”. Opening with a classic “Let’s go!” rallying cry, the track storms forward with delicious two-stepping thrash excellence, before blossoming into a triumphant chorus. With roots firmly planted in the glory days of ’80s thrash yet laced with modern flair, it’s a horns-in-the-air riff fest that will have you banging your head so hard you’ll need a neck brace afterward.
About “Escapegoat”, vocalist David White says:
“‘Escapegoat’ is a song that has been a long time in the making. It takes you on a journey through intense riffing and heart-pounding drum rhythms and is the first piece of the puzzle we wanted you to experience as a glimpse into the intensity and bigger picture that we feel this album will bring. Our goal was to make the greatest HEATHEN album to date, and we can’t wait to hear your response! As we embark on our final tour of 2026 with Forbidden and Void, we’ll be taking this new music on the road in the USA. Then, in the new year, we’ll begin a European tour as part of a triple revolving headlining tour with Exhorder and Belgium’s own Evil Invaders.”
Continuing about the accompanying video, Kragen Lum adds:
“We live in an increasingly superficial and plastic world, surrounded by artificial images, endless distractions, and expectations that can sometimes become too much to handle. We look for every opportunity to escape — to disappear into doom scrolling, binge watching, gaming, drugs, alcohol, and anything else that gives us a momentary release from the weight of reality. We build walls around ourselves. We bury ourselves in distractions. We convince ourselves that we can always escape the consequences. Until we can’t. Just one more distraction. Just one more escape. Just one last mistake. We are the ‘Escapegoat.'”

David White about the new album Lifetime in Hell:
“After touring extensively around the world in support of Empire of the Blind, we’ve spent the last year or so recording whenever we could make it happen, and we’re finally finished with this new album! We’re very proud to announce Lifetime in Hell. We want to thank Napalm Records for believing in us, Zeuss for producing the album, Jason Bittner for laying down the crushing drum tracks, and our families for their patience and support throughout this process. Most of all, we want to thank all of our fans for your enthusiasm and support over the years. We hope you wear this record out!”

HEATHEN emerged from the depths back in 1984, leading the Bay Area thrash metal scene in their early years. Breaking the Silence (1987) and Victims of Deception (1991) are staples of West Coast metal. After a few years of hiatus, they returned in 2001, their albums rare but heavy-hitting. Lifetime in Hell, their first full-length since 2020’s Empire of the Blind, mixes surgical precision with head-turning speed in the most glorious of ways. The album is a modern master class in thrash — one that reminds us why the band is considered iconic amongst its peers. Produced by Zeuss at Planet Z (known for his work with 3 Inches of Blood, Municipal Waste, Hatebreed, and Shadows Fall, amongst others), it’s a fresh and vital album.
From the “Let’s Go!” rallying cry of “Escapegoat” through the solos and unapologetic kinetic energy of the Jeff Loomis-assisted “Glass House” to the viscerally vicious title track, which erupts with a pouncing groove that grabs you by the throat and never loosens its grip, much less lets it go, Lifetime in Hell makes the listener feel like hell is a destination in which you willfully take up permanent residency. There’s also “Goddess of the Light”, which will have headbangers whipping their hair around in circle-eight formation and sending them off to a chiropractor to realign their spines, while “The Bitter End” opens with ominous tones before evolving into a full-blown anthem that will detonate circle pits. “Sanity Charade” delivers a punch to the face so hard that it will have you questioning your own sanity. Dust off your patch-covered denim vest, your spit-and-beer-glazed leather jacket, and your white high-tops — HEATHEN is here to remind you of why thrash metal will never die!
TEMPERANCE Italian Symphonic Power Metallers Release Fourth Single, “The Fool”
New Album, Arcani, Drops this Friday, October 16, 2026 Via Napalm Records
Only a few days remain until Italian symphonic power metal outfit TEMPERANCE releases its new studio album. Entitled Arcani, the record drops this Friday, October 16, via Napalm Records. Today’s fourth single, “The Fool”, serves as the final harbinger.
The track begins with an instrumental intro that paves the way for vocalist Kristin Starkey’s versatile vocal performance. As her male counterparts join her on vocal duties, the song takes on new dimensions while remaining a cohesive and captivating piece of art. Uplifting melodies and symphonic grandeur showcase the trademark sound of TEMPERANCE, which will soon be brought to stages across Europe as the band tours with labelmates KAMELOT and EXIT EDEN from October 31 onwards! Please see below for the full list of dates.
Marco Pastorino about “The Fool”:
“The final single leading up to Arcani, ‘The Fool’, has a rather unique story behind it. I received these lyrics from Kristin, and built the entire song around them. The perfect opening track for this new full-length album, it blends many of the signature elements that define TEMPERANCE: from epic choruses and soaring guitar melodies to a neoclassical acoustic break. Get ready to discover The Fool card and one of the longest tracks of the record”
Watch the official music video for “The Fool”
Structured around the divinatory practice of Tarot, each of the new songs on Arcani (October 16, 2026 via Napalm Records) follows a different card of the Major Arcana deck. Pouring their passion into 13 spellbinding songs with even catchier symphonic melodies than before, TEMPERANCE’s bright future takes shape on Arcani.
Though not a direct concept album, TEMPERANCE position themselves as masters of narrative with their Tarot-themed album, Arcani. Their symphonic grandeur rising to new heights on their memorable eighth album, the Italian five-piece knows how to make their trademark alternating vocalists stand out. With the most personal lyrics of their career, the lines recorded in group sessions binding the band together even more, TEMPERANCE present a strong melodic piece of work, filled with power, passion, and perspective.
Marco Pastorino about Arcani:
“We are finally here to announce our new album, Arcani! 13 incredible new songs that we have worked tirelessly on over the past year, and we are confident they will become an essential part of our live show. Epic symphonic arrangements, harmonies woven through our three distinctive voices, huge metal guitar solos, and a fantastic production! After our adventures around the globe supporting the magical world of Hermitage, we have returned with something magical once again. Welcome to the world of Arcani.”

Their first trump comes in the shape of “The Fool”. Just like the card has uniqueness in Tarot through being unnumbered or assigned 0, Arcani’s opening song takes a special role through the lack of a subtitle. Paving the way for the album, TEMPERANCE have their trademark grand sound take shape in uplifting melodies and powerful duet vocals. For “The Magician: Into the Fire”, male vocals take the lead, the blazing anthem further unfolding the potential of the magical record. The emotive mid-tempo track “Death: Right Before We Die”, introduced by gentle keyboard melodies and fleshed out by impressively high notes, draws from a personal experience the band members shared. “The Tower: Lean Into Fear” takes the form of a hard rock song—an entirely new facet in TEMPERANCE’s musical universe. Its Tarot paragon being a symbol of chaos and catastrophe as well as liberation, it is the perfect song for Kristin Starkey to show her roaring versatility. “The Devil: Sin, Sin, Sin” picks up on its predecessor’s dark undertone, using it for a dramatic composition with an incomparably rousing chorus in which the Italian masters of modern melodic metal truly shine. Following, the quintet unveils a quasi-self-titled track with “Temperance: Forgiveness”. TEMPERANCE turn the virtue card into a well-balanced, encouraging song, claiming, “Another day is coming”, before presenting theirs with the triumphant “The Chariot: Alla Ricerca dell’America” (Engl. “in search of America”), which adds both Italian lyrics, and a Swedish line honoring Starkey’s chosen home, as well as more operatic singing to Arcani. The collectively catchy “Justice: Shame & Glory” portrays a similarly victorious sentiment, before the hopeful “The Star: Surrender Control” has TEMPERANCE move back to contrasting their vocalists. Introduced by electronic melodies, “Wheel of Fortune: Come and Call Me” comes in fast and forceful—fierce change once again matching the symbolism behind the eponymous card. Much calmer, “The Moon: The Man of Moonlight” harmonizes hidden danger through enticing instrumentation and strong vocals, before the intense “The Hanged Man: Petrichor” turns from acoustic guitars to heavy extraordinaire, from metal to opera, pulling together the numerous different styles the five-piece is capable of executing without the “pitture infamante”’s sacrifice. “The World”, much like “The Fool”, stands out in its title, but also as a song itself: The closing track is an acoustic guitar track with predominantly female vocals, mirroring the Major Arcana’s final card in its feeling of success. With it, TEMPERANCE wrap up Arcani with a special feeling of overarching finality while still looking ahead.
CHARLOTTE WESSELS’ The Obsession Announces New Album, Mute Swan Empire, for February 5, 2027
Dutch artist CHARLOTTE WESSELS and her band, now dubbed The Obsession, will release their second full-length, full-band studio album, Mute Swan Empire, on February 5, 2027, via Napalm Records. It’s a character-driven concept album in which each of its 15 tracks inhabits an archetype that emerges at the end of the Anthropocene, exploring how different people respond to climate breakdown, social injustice, and the collapse of familiar futures.
Through these different characters, the former DELAIN vocalist forms a fractured portrait of humanity, revealing the many ways we confront collapse – with denial, rage, faith, withdrawal, hope, vengeance, and everything in between – all woven into a sonic multiverse that defies genre-categorization.
The album arrives just in time for CHARLOTTE WESSELS’ first-ever headlining tour across Europe and the UK, kicking off on February 4, 2027, in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, one day prior to the album release.
CHARLOTTE WESSELS about the album: “I didn’t set out to write a concept record from the start, but somewhere along the way, I began to realise that all the latest songs I’d written were connected.
MIDNIGHT Unleashes “Violence On Violence” Visualizer
Satanic Attack Live! To Drop November 6th On Metal Blade Records
Watch/stream MIDNIGHT’s “Violence On Violence ”
MIDNIGHT’s is pleased to present a visualizer for “Violence On Violence” live. The track comes off the band’s Satanic Attack Live! recording set for release on November 6th via Metal Blade Records.
Reigning in hell, screaming like a storm, MIDNIGHT’s obscenely intense aural display of lust, filth, and sleaze ripped the Los Angeles faithful a new one at two sold-out shows on May 28th-29th, 2026. As part of MIDNIGHT’s Satanic Royalty 15th Anniversary World Tour, the incendiary gigs at Hollywood venue Knucklehead were recorded in all their sweaty, filthy glory, resulting in Satanic Attack Live!.
“No ‘unleashed in the studio’ or ‘unalive!’ here,” founding bass/vocalist Athenar proclaims. “All the popcorn tempos, forgotten lyrics, and shit notes are there for your taste buds to savor. I would love to hear what kind of live album Steely Dan would record while wearing masks, leather, spikes, bullets, and chains in a 1000degree smokey club full of rabid maniacs throwing beer on your wah-wah pedal, knocking microphones into your teeth, clawing at your crotch, headbanging into your headstock, and generally doing what they should be doing at a MIDNIGHT concert! I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Watch the band’s previously released “You Can’t Stop Steel” video HERE.
Recorded by Mark Borders with mixing/mastering done by Zach Rippy, Satanic Attack Live! captures ten tracks off 2011’s landmark Satanic Royalty LP – live and in the original album running order – plus five additional songs, including “Shock Til Blood,” “T.A.P.,” and “Fucking Speed And Darkness.”

Vesperian Welcomes THE MOSAIC WINDOW
New single “What Sage Could Not Cleanse” out now, new studio album comes in November
Vesperian is pleased to welcome THE MOSAIC WINDOW, the Black Metal project of Andrew Steven Brown, to the roster.
On the band’s next album, Answered Prayers — out November 13, 2026 — Brown pulls back from the more polished, prog-tinged death/black hybrid of 2024’s Hemasanctum and returns to the band’s original core: first and second wave black metal, filtered through atmospheric rasps of despair and phantasmal, buried death growls. Across ten tracks, its nihilistic concept unfolds — humanity erased retroactively, centuries before the Industrial Revolution, as the only cure for a poisoned world.
Alongside the announcement, the band share the album’s first single, What Sage Could Not Cleanse. An older composition, it anchors Answered Prayers’ back-to-roots direction: raw, stripped of any polish, a statement of intent — no ritual can purify what’s already beyond saving.

CELESTIAL SANCTUARY UK Death Metallers To Release Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul Full-Length, January 22nd, 2027
New Single, Lashed By Chain Out Now
There is a point in every band’s evolution when it becomes necessary to strip everything back and ask a simple question: What is it that makes us who we are? For UK death metal force, CELESTIAL SANCTUARY, that question became the foundation for Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul, a bold and uncompromising new album that sees the band refining their identity by refusing to conform to anyone else’s expectations.
“Our intention this time around was to refine what actually this ‘CELESTIAL SANCTUARY thing’ is,” the band explains, “filtering out all the bullshit, ignoring trends and ignoring what people expect us to do, and we’re a way better band for it.”
The answer isn’t to abandon death metal, but to look beyond its boundaries. CELESTIAL SANCTUARY approached Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul, their Metal Blade debut out January 22nd, 2027 with an organic understanding of their complete metal DNA, retaining the violence and extremity at the core of the band while allowing a much broader spectrum of influences to shape the songwriting, dynamics and production. The band describes the album as roughly 25% death metal and 75% everything else that makes up their conception of heavy metal.
Across 47 minutes, the album unfolds as a violent and expansive journey through death, folklore, and the darkest corners of the band’s home territory. The story is a bastardization of the history and legends surrounding Bury St. Edmunds, drawing from centuries of local mythology, atrocities, and executions. The piercing and beheading of King Edmund, the spectral Black Shuck, the infamous Red Barn Murders, the Witch Trials, the Sunken Bells of Dunwich, the Lantern Man, and the many brutal executions that once took place throughout the region all become raw material for CELESTIAL SANCTUARY’s twisted narrative.
Comments CELESTIAL SANCTUARY vocalist/guitarist Tom Cronin on lead single, “Lashed By Chain,” and the accompanying video, “This was the first song to be written for this album and an immediate statement of intent for what to expect. Tight, fast riffing, a brutal slam that jumps out of the shadows to piledrive you into oblivion and a big dual guitar solo that wouldn’t sound out of place in a Maiden tune. The lyrics follow the story of a knight who has one hand crossed with gold and riches, and the other with iron symbolizing that he’s sold his destiny to fight an unwinnable war. The theme treads the line of yearning to return to the things you love, the drive to survive, and the cruelty of false hope – being driven to survive in the most hopeless of times. Don’t be fooled… there is nothing positive about this and there is no happy ending.
“Musically, we wanted to channel a tighter rhythmic sound on this record. We really wanted to push the limit of what we could do with syncopated riffs and sudden time signature changes.
“We wanted to make a video that felt real, gritty and tactile,” he continues. “As a video producer by trade, I see a lot of videos that feel like an afterthought, so we took a considered approach with every element of the video. As I was directing and producing it myself, I felt a responsibility to make this as fucking cool as I possibly could.”
“We filmed it in a 9th century, deconsecrated church that was built on a burial site in England’s first city. We composed every shot of us playing meticulously and complimented that with high contrast lighting to match the colours in the animation and album artwork. We shot, graded and edited in such a way so you can feel the energy and aggression of our performance pouring out of your screen and into your face!”
“When it came to the animation element of the video, we purposely wanted something tangible, so we worked with Ben Amos Cooper to create visuals that compliment James Bousema’s album artwork in their own way. While they each have their own identity, the two are so undeniably entwined.”

RAM “Against” Video From Swedish Heavy Metal Goliaths Now Playing
Album Of The Same Name Out Now On Metal Blade Records
Swedish heavy metal goliaths RAM present their video for “Against,” the title track of their latest full-length, out now on Metal Blade Records.
The title track was written in a burst of inspiration, driven by a personal sense of facing overwhelming opposition; a David And Goliath scenario. This intense emotional energy fueled a rapid writing process, resulting in one of the album’s most direct and powerful statements.
Comments vocalist Oscar Carlquist, “‘Against’ is a real belter of a track, super old school. This is not your fresh 2026 MacBook metal; this is straight from the gutter. The lyrics are pure defiance, a tale about not backing down.”

While RAM’s previously released The Throne Within full-length was defined by its spiritual and metaphysical themes, Against takes a more grounded approach, focusing on the experience of being pushed beyond reasonable limits and refusing to comply. The album captures that moment of resistance, “that fire of defiance, which ultimately defines its title and message,” as the band collectively states.
Musically, guitarists Harry Granroth and Martin Jonsson continue to favor bridge pickups, maintaining a sharp and aggressive tone. The equipment used on Against reflects a classic approach, contributing to a sound that feels both timeless and direct. Sonically, Against was conceived as a return to classic recording philosophies. Drawing inspiration from the early works of Dio, MSG, and Sweet, the goal was to create an honest and unpolished sound. In a music landscape increasingly divided into countless subgenres, the band positions itself deliberately outside of categorization.
One of the most noticeable aspects of Against is its concise songwriting. Where earlier work may have leaned toward complexity, this album embraces clarity and precision. This evolution reflects a broader maturation, with the Swedes recognizing that restraint and focus can be more impactful than technical display.
