Fresh off the release of their brand new album Promises, Mama Kin Spender brought their soul-stirring harmonies and raw percussive energy to the Brunswick Ballroom on Friday night. Danielle Caruana and Dingo Spender delivered a set that swung between the intimate and the explosive, with songs from Promises unfolding like diary entries brought to life on stage – tender, fierce, and achingly real. With the room swept up in their hypnotic grooves and open-hearted storytelling, it was another reminder of why Mama Kin Spender remain one of Australia’s most compelling live acts. Support act for the night Baby Velvet delivered an impressive performance too.
