JOE JACKSON ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND TOUR – JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2027

Joe Jackson has announced his long-awaited return to Australia, with the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and pianist set to tour the country for the first time since 2008. The January/February 2027 run also includes two New Zealand dates and arrives in support of his acclaimed new studio album, Hope and Fury.

For fans who have waited almost two decades to see Jackson on Australian stages again, the tour promises a career-spanning set drawing on more than 45 years of music. Expect timeless favourites such as Is She Really Going Out with Him?, Steppin’ Out and Real Men, alongside material from Hope and Fury, an album that proves Jackson remains as inventive and musically adventurous as ever.

Released earlier this year, Hope and Fury finds Jackson in outstanding form, blending his trademark wit, sharp social observation and melodic sophistication with the eclectic musical approach that has defined his career. Self-described by Jackson as “Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock”, a nod to his time split between New York City and Portsmouth, England, the album effortlessly moves between rock, jazz, Latin grooves and pop while retaining the unmistakable songwriting voice that has made him one of contemporary music’s true originals.

Few artists have enjoyed a career as stylistically fearless as Joe Jackson. Since bursting onto the scene with 1979’s Look Sharp!, he has consistently refused to stand still, moving from new wave and power pop into jazz, classical composition, swing and orchestral works without ever losing his distinctive identity. That willingness to evolve has earned him both critical acclaim and a fiercely loyal audience around the world.

Jackson’s current world tour, which began across North America in May, has attracted glowing reviews, with critics praising both his enduring vocal performances and the exceptional musicianship of his touring band. Australian audiences can expect the same fully live experience, with Jackson joined by longtime collaborators Graham Maby on bass, Teddy Kumpel on guitar, Doug Yowell on drums and percussionist Felipe Fournier.

Describing the show as “playing the songs people love, alongside the ones that still surprise me,” Jackson continues to demonstrate why he remains one of the most compelling live performers of his generation. Whether seated behind the piano or leading a full band, his concerts combine razor-sharp musicianship, dry humour and an ever-surprising setlist that celebrates both his biggest hits and deeper catalogue gems.

The Australian and New Zealand itinerary begins in Christchurch on January 23 before visiting Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
