C. F. Martin & Co.® introduces four new acoustic guitars that bring together history, innovation, and player-driven design: the 5-28 Terz, OM-35 Inception, Custom Shop 0-18, and Custom Shop 0-28.
5-28 Terz
Leading the launch is the return of the 5-28 Terz, a uniquely voiced Size 5 model and the smallest guitar currently offered by Martin. With roots reaching back to Martin’s earliest history, the Size 5 is the oldest Martin guitar body size still made today. Designed for Terz tuning—a minor third above standard—the 5-28 Terz delivers a focused, bell-like voice with surprising depth and shimmer.
OM-35 Inception
The OM-35 Inception continues Martin’s exploration of sustainable tonewoods, pairing black walnut and flamed American white oak with an FSC®-certified European spruce top. Purpose-built skeletonized Golden Era scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance, sustain, and dynamic response, creating a modern OM with a warm, clear voice and strong midrange character.
Custom Shop 0-18 & 0-28
Rounding out the offering are two new Custom Shop models designed as accessible gateways to Martin custom craftsmanship. The Custom Shop 0-18 pairs an Adirondack spruce top with genuine mahogany back and sides for an articulate, focused sound, while the Custom Shop 0-28 adds East Indian rosewood back and sides for deeper bass and richer overtones.
Both feature hand-shaped Adirondack Golden Era scalloped bracing, vintage gloss finishes, and the intimate feel of Martin’s increasingly popular 0 body size.
Together, these four models give players new ways to explore Martin tone—from the historic sparkle of the 5-28 Terz to the sustainable innovation of the OM-35 Inception and the refined Custom Shop craftsmanship of the 0-18 and 0-28.
