Don Walker Band, Memo Music Hall, St.Kilda 24 June 2023.
Don Walker wrapped up his east coast tour last night at St. Kilda’s Memo Music Hall, celebrating the release of his fourth solo album, Lightning in a Clear Blue Sky. Featuring many of the musicians who played on the album, last night’s wonderful performance included Garrett Costigan on pedal steel, Michael Vidale on bass, Hamish Stuart on drums and Shannon Bourne on guitar, replacing the late, great guitarist Roydon Payne, to whom Walker has dedicated the album. Rounding out the cast were the fabulous backing singers The Harmonettes. The audience was warmed nicely by support act Melody Moko.
