Four-time ARIA award-nominated future-soul powerhouse that is Ngaiire today shares her live album with The Sydney Symphony Orchestra Live At The Sydney Opera House – a recording taken from their sold out 2022 Forecourt performance for the 50th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House.
The album consists of orchestral arrangements of tracks from across her career, including her critically-acclaimed album 3, performed to thousands of captivated fans and highlighting her powerhouse vocals.
To celebrate the project, Ngaiire and the Sydney Symphony will return to the Opera House on the 4th of May for a one-off, genre-bending concert with support from icons of the Sydney underground music scene, GODTET. Ngaiire & The Sydney Symphony Orchestra present Fireflies with GODTET will once again see the songwriter showcase her innovative fusion of electronic future-soul, gospel, and alt-pop.
Ngaiire’s electric vocals have been described by Rolling Stone as “a near perfect slice of hushed future soul” garnering her four ARIA Award nominations, three FBi Radio SMAC Awards, the inaugural Australian Women in Music Award for Artistic Excellence, a shortlist for the AMP AND nominated for J Awards’ Artist of The Year.
Not to be defined by genre, Ngaiire’s career has her seen her tour alongside, and collaborate with artists ranging from Alicia Keys, Flume, Hiatus Kaiyote, Sufjan Stevens, Australian Art Orchestra and Leon Bridges. She’ll add to this list when she takes the stage to support Sampha nationally later this month. In 2021, she became the first Papua New Guinean to appear on ABC’s Play School and the first musician to play in front of Canberra’s National Press Club.
