On Wednesday night at the Enmore Theatre, Damiano David showed Sydney what stepping out on your own can really look like. The crowd was buzzing well before he hit the stage – equal parts Måneskin loyalists and curious fans wondering what his solo sound might bring. When the lights finally dropped, the Enmore’s old-school charm met a sleek, modern edge that fit the moment perfectly.
From the opening track, it was clear this wasn’t Måneskin 2.0. Damiano leaned into a smoother, more cinematic sound – less raw rock, more moody energy and melody. His voice, still unmistakably powerful, carried a new kind of control. He moved with confidence, but there was space for vulnerability too, especially when the guitars quieted and he let the songs breathe.
One of the night’s best moments came when he performed a stripped-back number under soft lighting, just his voice and minimal accompaniment. It gave the set real emotional texture and reminded the crowd that beneath the swagger is a serious musician.
The audience was all in: singing along, phones raised, locked in. The energy stayed high but never felt forced. Damiano seemed genuinely at ease, clearly enjoying the chance to test his solo footing while keeping the charisma that made him a star in the first place.
Backed by a small but sharp live band – tight, talented, and clearly enjoying themselves – Damiano led the charge with a mix of polish and rawness that struck the right balance.
