THE SCREAMING JETS From Scotland to Tamworth, celebrating Bon Scott + Australia’s iconic country music festival, The Screaming Jets lock in two massive live events for 2027
Revered Australian rock band The Screaming Jets have today announced 2 huge live events that will take them all the way from Tamworth in Northern NSW to Kirriemuir in Scotland! Lead by dynamic frontman Dave Gleeson, The Screaming Jets will kick off 2027 with a return to The Longyard Hotel in Tamworth for a third consecutive year, as part of Tamworth Country Music Festival’s calendar of events. This has become an annual pilgrimage for The Jets – the band’s Tamworth shows were fully sold out in both 2025 and 2026, and fans are encouraged to snap up tickets quickly to avoid disappointment.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday 2nd July – see here for more.
Following Tamworth, The Screaming Jets go global! They will pack their bags and head for Scotland, to be part of legendary rock festival, BONFEST.
Taking place at the end of April in Kirriemuir, Scotland, the festival celebrates the life of Bon Scott, who was born there. It features live bands and tribute acts and turns the town into a hub for AC/DC fans each year.
The Screaming Jets will appear as Special Guest on the night of Friday 30 April in their inaugural appearance at BONFEST.
Dave Gleeson says, “Bon Scott is a rock n roll hero – no question. He lived it like he sang it – straight up and hard, setting the stories of his wild life to the rock n rollinest band in the world. I love him so much I’ve got a tattoo of him on my arm!
So to be heading to BONFEST in 2027 as Special Guests on the Friday night with The Screaming Jets is a massive buzz for us.
It’s been a while between drinks for the Jets in the UK, and we can’t wait to catch up with all our mates over there, and rock out with a Scottish crowd, and maybe even sample a wee dram or two while we’re at it.
We’re bringing full-tilt Aussie rock’n’roll with us – no holding back – we’ll be rockin out with the spirit of Bon in mind!”
Watch the BONFEST video announcement here.
Is there another band who could mix it with Australian country music’s finest and weeks later, tear up a UK Festival stage in a celebration of Bon Scott? Hats off to The Jets!

Grace Cummings Releases New Track “I’m Not Crazy” and Announces Tour
Lauded singer-songwriter Grace Cummings has released “I’m Not Crazy” the latest song taken from her upcoming album Bloodhorse!, arriving August 14th via Virgin Music Australia.
“I’m Not Crazy” is an acoustic focused, beautifully chilling track that yet again highlights Cummings’ signature deep and breathy vocals. It’s accompanied by a video animated and directed by Lucy Dyson with additional footage shot by Grace herself.
On the track, Cummings shares: “This is a song about violence. It has a dreaminess to it, dissociation maybe. ‘I won’t hurt you baby, I’m not crazy’ are words that are meant to soothe, but get twisted and used as a warning. The song is about making yourself small and pretty, out of fear. I used a different voice to sing it. I wanted to sound innocent, pretty, vulnerable, which is sometimes a place that you can hide, if you are afraid. You can hide there for a very long time.”

After quietly building a fanbase with a string of impressive releases, Cummings garnered international attention when her third album, Ramona, earned widespread critical acclaim in 2024. Bloodhorse!, like its predecessor, was recorded in Topanga Canyon, California with GRAMMY-nominated producer Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, Margo Price). The album is focused on the process of escaping pain and entering a technicolor world of imagination and radical self acceptance.
Earlier this month, Cummings debuted album tracks while on a run of shows supporting Father John Misty in Europe, culminating with her own sold-out headline show at London’s The George Tavern. To celebrate the release of I’m Not Crazy, and previous single My God, she has announced a run of dates in Aus, which will see her previewing tracks from Bloodhorse! As well as playing some old favourites.

LEAH SENIOR shares her divine new album, Pt. Roadknight
Today we are thrilled to share with you the incredible new record from our favourite Australian Folk diviner, Leah Senior. Leah’s ifth album, Pt. Roadknight is out today on all platforms (except Spotify and Amazon). The album marks an exciting new chapter in Leah’s musical journey, affirming her as one of Australia’s most captivating folk songwriters and poetic storytellers.
The album has been highly anticipated with Leah’s recent singles “Mothersong”, “Softly, Once Again” and “Two Weeks” receiving praises from Rolling Stone, Double J, Rage, Beat Mag, PBS, RRR, 4ZZZ, 2Ser, RTR, ABC Country and international media such as Aquarium Drunkard, Raven Sings The Blues, Backseat Mafia, Songlines and more.
On Pt. Roadknight, Leah Senior explores her introspective, nature-loving side while honing the singular baroque psych folk that has enchanted listeners around the world. While the style and instrumentation of ‘70s Brit folk are touchstones on the record, Leah’s disarming lyrics are fresh and wholehearted, wrestling with concerns of gentrification and isolation while finding solace in the quiet beauty of the Victoria surfcoast where she lives.
“I called the album ‘Point Roadknight’ as this is the name of the beach where I was living at the time. Breaking away from the city allowed me the space to really lean into who I want to be as an artist.”
At times overcast and moody, at others frolicking and playful, the record narrates the seasons of the year within this season of Senior’s life, with all its tensions and contradictions: Breaking away from the city lent her artistic freedom, though she missed her vibrant creative community in Melbourne; she found peace in the deserted beach town while bemoaning the clear wealth disparity visible in all the giant beach houses left empty in the midst of a housing crisis.
“There is a strong seasonal pull on this album. Songs like ‘Winter’ and ‘Talk To Me’ were written during a particularly drafty, glum few winter months. ‘Seasonal Rhyme’ and ‘Blossoms of Spring’ are about the beauty of the surroundings pulling me back out of myself. The album is therefore both introspective and outwards looking.”
The spirited single “Mothersong” kicks the album off on a high note, with Pentangle-esque guitar riffs, flute fanfares, and evocative blood harmony between Leah and her sister Andi Senior. On “Softly, Once Again,” with its Beatles-inspired pop inflections, Senior gives herself permission to approach her music on her own terms. “Two Weeks” is reminiscent of the sparse laments of Nick Drake, as Leah sings over fingerpicked guitar and subtle piano.
Leah Senior – Pt. Roadknight
Vinyl available now
“The album was recorded with my partner, Jesse Williams. We worked out of a small studio space out the back of Torquay. This album felt surprisingly effortless. I would write the songs and we would play them as a band and record them shortly afterwards. The rhythm section really shines through on this album which I love.”
With its strong sense of place and ebbs and flows of mood that mimic the seasonal shifts of nature along the limestone coast, Pt. Roadknight turns its introspection outwards, sharing it with the listeners. Like the songs “Mothersong,” “Zoë,” and “Part of the Crowd”—each a love letter written to friends and experiences back in the city, Leah’s fifth studio album has an epistolary quality, its pensive, solitary tendencies are transformed into a resonant point of connection. As she sings on “Talk To Me,” (a nod to Joni Mitchell’s song of the same name), it’s a fine line between focus and retreat.
Leah Senior’s new album Pt. Roadknight is out today via Third Eye Stimuli & SPINSTER (North America / UK).
Available now on Vinyl, CD & Digital.
Distributed globally by Redeye Worldwide.

DISGRACELAND Release Turbo Charged Version of the Hoodoo Gurus Classic, Wipeout
As Massive Tour with The Angels Continues
After tearing it up across Australia alongside rock royalty The Angels, plus appearances aboard Rock The Boat, Disgraceland have firmly established themselves as one of the country’s most chaotic and entertaining live acts.
Fronted by “The King” himself, Disgraceland isn’t an Elvis tribute show. It’s what happens when classic rock’n’roll swagger gets thrown headfirst into a loud, sweaty punk rock bar fight.
Elvis. Motörhead. Nirvana. Johnny Cash. The Saints. The Angels. Sinatra. The Ramones.
Nothing and no one is safe.
The band takes songs you know and love, drags them through distortion pedals and throws them back at you coated in attitude. The result is pure pub-rock mayhem built for sweaty rooms full of people who still want their music to feel dangerous.
Now, Disgraceland move from the stage to your stereo with a fired-up reinterpretation of the Hoodoo Gurus classic, Wipeout.
Rather than simply covering the track as the Gurus delivered way back when, the band have rebuilt it entirely in their own image; louder, faster and dripping with swagger. Halfway through, things take a left turn with a huge guitar section inspired by the days when solos were excessive, over the top and absolutely necessary, before unexpectedly tipping the hat to the King’s That’s Alright Mama, a fitting nod to one of the foundations the band was built on.
It’s messy. Loud. Fun. Exactly as intended.

ABOUT DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE: As one of the defining indie-rock bands of the 21st century, Death Cab for Cutie have spent the last 30 years defying every possible expectation.
Formed in 1997 in Bellingham, Washington, Death Cab for Cutie were initially the quintessential underdog college-radio act, anchored by co-founder, frontman, and lead songwriter Ben Gibbard’s achingly earnest, erudite (yet still accessible) lyricism that drew inspiration from ‘80s alternative tastemakers The Smiths, The Cure, second-wave emo progenitors Sunny Day Real Estate, lo-fi acoustic hero Elliott Smith, Northwest contemporaries Modest Mouse, and introspective rock heads Built To Spill.
Still, given the overwhelming cultural significance of the 2000s indie-rock scene, Gibbard (and his legions of young fans) had no reason to expect that DCfC, despite their instant-classic, magnetic, pop-curious melodies, would transcend this particular moment in time, one marked by a groundswell of mainstream interest in the once-tiny indie-rock subculture.
Nearly three decades after Gibbard recorded his bare-bones debut cassette, You Can Play These Songs With Chords, and completed the DCfC lineup comprising original guitarist and producer Chris Walla (later replaced by Dave Depper on guitar and Zac Rae on keyboards), bassist Nick Harmer, and drummer Jason McGerr, DCfC have grown from underground indie contenders to pillars of the modern alternative-rock landscape.
As DCfC get prepare to enter a new era, complete with a return to their indie roots by joining ANTI- Records and readying new music for 2026, Gibbard opens up about what inspires him to keep creating and evolving as an artist. “I just love the feeling of being in a room having just made something that I’m proud of. I can’t imagine wanting to do anything else,” Gibbard says. “This is literally what I’ve wanted to do since I was 12 years old. And the fact that I’ve been given the opportunity to do it, I feel that I have an obligation to my 12-year-old self to continue to do this and find the joy in it, and to experience the odd wonder of what it’s like to create things.”

RYAN MARTIN JOHN ‘BIG LOVE’ (SINGLE)
Big love is the leading single and title track of Ryans second full length album due out July 10. The mood of the song has a beautiful real ache to it. The infectious melody and RMJ’s soaring falsettos in the verses are a perfect tasting platter for the impending sounds and moods to come on his full length album of the same name.
The single Big Love is written about relentless hopefulness in the downfall a long term relationship that both sides mutually empathize and understand will inevitably fail. “I know the heart gets cold when we can’t be close, I know it’s hard when big love should be everything but slow’.
While the mood may be sombre, the prevailing tag ‘You will do well not to worry’ is ultimately a self awareness and an invitation for the opposite person to prosper in the future beyond the breakdown.
Much like the album surrounding the title track, RMJ and his band recorded the track in its entirety live; “There’s something magic about a group of humans playing together on the same floor that has a glueing effect. We made little blemishes here and there, but that’s the point in writing human music – consider it a watermark against AI.”
The song was previewed in the South Australian SCALA (Songwriters, Composers, and Lyricists Association) Festival of Original Music and won best live performance.
RYAN MARTIN JOHN : Ryan Martin John is a country folk singer-songwriter with a penchant for dreamy harmonies and intimate guitar playing.
Based on Kaurna Country, his songs walk the line between inward self reflection and outward curiosity of the world, nestled in the familiar tones of 70s era Laurel Canyon songwriters. Live performances feel like a hang with a friend you feel you’ve known forever, with Ryan often warmly playing down the seriousness of his songs whilst asking “does anyone else feel this way?”.
Usually playing alongside main collaborator and acclaimed guitarist, Tom Kneebone, (and sometimes upright bassist Tasha Stevens) the gang weave their voices and guitars around each other resulting in an inviting folk & country sound that’s as detailed as it is spacious.
In 2023, Ryan released his debut album ‘Goodness, Gracious, Graceless’ to notable acclaim (Winning SCALA ‘Best Performance’, Folk Alliance nomination for ‘Best Artist’, Adelaide Roots & Blues Association ‘Best Roots Album’ nomination, SA Music Major Award nomination for ‘Best Solo Artist’).
Drawing influence from Gram Parsons, Neil Young and Paul Kelly, the album is a full country band affair. With big drums, big harmonies, and a sound that’s very nostalgic of a golden era of country folk-rock crossovers.
Since then Ryan’s songwriting has transformed into the more current sparse and intimate sound audiences have become familiar with. In 2025, Ryan unveiled the first of many singles ‘Ways To Fall’ and ‘Starline’, showcasing a closer, warmer style of writing that garnered high rotation on ABC Country and national radio airplay. Ryan was also a semi-finalist in the Nashville-based International Songwriting Competition of 2025.

The two tracks mark her first new music since 2024’s She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She and serve as the first glimpse of Wolfe’s forthcoming ninth studio album.
Death is Not the End features guitarist Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails) and drummer Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, Fiona Apple), while The Dark showcases drummer Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Courtney Barnett) alongside bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Air, Beck).
Chelsea Wolfe has also announced a mammoth 43-date tour across the US and Europe, running from September through the end of 2026.

Chelsea Wolfe returns with new music at the center of a world that she is only beginning to reveal. The Dark and Death is Not the End arrive after a week of fan speculation, sparked by cryptic imagery, fragments of sound, and the shadowy visual language teased by Heretic Parfum across its socials.
Fans quickly caught on that the mystery figure was indeed Wolfe, leading them to GHOSTS, Heretic Parfum’s collection of five spectral fragrances and the storied fragrance brand’s first partnership with a musician.
Featuring Wolfe as the face of the campaign, the musical soundscapes for the launch were crafted from Wolfe’s new material, giving fans their first glimpse into the sound and feeling of what is coming next. More information on the collaborative collection HERE.
Chelsea Wolfe has become one of the most singular artists in the world, moving fluidly between doom metal, folk, industrial, electronic music, and spectral balladry. She has collaborated with artists including Deftones’ Chino Moreno, Xiu Xiu, and Converge, had her music featured in HBO’s Game of Thrones, co-wrote the score for the A24 horror film X with Tyler Bates and turned heads at last year’s Ann Demeulemeester show at Paris Fashion Week.
Known for building immersive worlds where darkness and beauty are indistinguishable, Wolfe has cultivated a devoted global following through music that explores transformation, spirituality, grief, longing, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. With these new songs and GHOSTS arriving in close succession, she opens the door to a new chapter that feels unmistakably her own.
As she gears up to release more new music this summer, she will headline the esteemed ArcTanGent festival before embarking on her headline tour. Joining Chelsea on the road will be Jonathan Hultén across the US dates and A.A. Williams throughout the European leg.
Last week, Chelsea Wolfe launched a secret pre-order via her mailing list, selling out in under 30 minutes. Fans who secured an order will discover what they’ve purchased later this summer. FLESHWATER Return To Australia This November with special guests Ingrown (USA) + Secret World
Since first emerging from the underground with their distinctive blend of shoegaze, grunge, alternative rock and hardcore, Fleshwater have become one of the most talked-about bands in heavy music.
This November, the Massachusetts outfit return to Australia for a national tour following a huge twelve months that has seen them release their acclaimed second album ‘2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky’, tour extensively with Deftones and The Mars Volta and perform at Coachella 2026!
Originally conceived as a side project involving members of Vein.fm, Fleshwater quickly developed a life of its own. Their breakout single Linda Claire introduced audiences to a sound that felt both nostalgic and completely contemporary, drawing from the alternative rock and shoegaze movements of the 1990s while injecting it with a modern heaviness and emotional weight all of their own.
Their 2022 debut album We’re Not Here To Be Loved established the band as far more than a side project, earning a devoted international following and appearances at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Sound & Fury and Sick New World.
Armed with a new album and an even stronger live reputation, Fleshwater return to Australia for what promises to be their biggest local shows to date.
Joining them on all dates are Idaho wrecking crew Ingrown. With their self described ‘gun-toting, dirt-bike-riding, hell-raising hardcore’ Ingrown have rapidly become one of the most dangerous bands in American heavy music, with their latest album Idaho delivering a relentless barrage of riffs, aggression and attitude.
Opening the tour are Sydney’s Secret World, whose mix of hardcore fury and rock’n’roll swagger has made them one of Australia’s most exciting emerging acts.

GHOST CARE step into their most self-assured sound yet on addictive new single ‘Never Knew’
Announce national single tour hitting Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Fremantle
Perth trio Ghost Care return today with their brand new jangly indie rock gem ‘Never Knew’. Stream HERE. Alongside the new release, the band – consisting of members Beau Torrance (vocals & guitar), Emma Joan (vocals & bass), and Luke Del Fante (drums) – are proud to announce a national headline tour for September, including shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Fremantle. Tickets are on sale HERE.
Ghost Care are no strangers to crafting undeniably catchy, pop-infused indie rock tracks, and ‘Never Knew’ sees the beloved three-piece step into their most self-assured sound yet. Opening with a standalone drumbeat and held down by a steady bass groove, ‘Never Knew’s strength is in its simplicity. Beau’s distinctly calm and collected vocals carry the song into a festival-worthy screamalong – I wanna feel it / I wanna know / Is this the feeling / You gotta go – while flourishes of keys and synth add texture to the track.
Talking about the new release, Beau says “‘Never Knew’ was written for someone who is constantly giving full-time devotion to someone with zero return on investment. Giving gold but receiving ghost.”
The track was written in the studio with Dave Parkin (Spacey Jane / South Summit) after getting into what the band describe as a “flow state”. “It was our first time working with a sample to get inspired and we really enjoyed that — it’s quickly become our favourite song and favourite one to play live. Lyrically there is a nod to ‘Rolling Stone’ by Bob Dylan. I remember the feeling of hearing that song for the first time as a kid — it was my first time hearing a Dylan song. I was enamoured and couldn’t stop listening.”
‘Never Knew’ was mastered by Joe Carra (San Cisco, Amyl & The Sniffers), and follows the band’s previous single ‘So Long’ which received airplay on triple j and across community radio, and arrived ahead of the band’s recent run supporting Ball Park Music in Western Australia. Before Ghost Care head out on their own headline run this September, the trio will support Melbourne indie favourites The Velvet Club on the Perth leg of their upcoming Are You Falling In Love? album tour.
Ghost Care have consistently gone from strength to strength, starting by carving out a devout local following, selling out headline shows in Perth. Since then the trio have been touring all across the country and securing a mass of impressive support slots for the likes of Spacey Jane, Teenage Dads, San Cisco, Sly Withers, The Vanns and South Summit. 2025 saw further success for Ghost Care, being selected as part of Live Nation’s Ones To Watch program’s first foray into WA and a national tour supporting indie darlings The Tullamarines. Last year also marked the release of their new EP Oh Positive, as well as an introduction to newest bandmate Emma Joan. The EP, along with their fresh energy as a group, further showcased the band’s unwavering knack for producing delightfully upbeat tracks, which are all at once charming, colourful, and heartfelt.

IGORRR Australian Tour Jan 30th – Feb 6th, 2027
For the first time in an ever evolving 21 year history, the explosive and genre defying French act IGORRR at last cast their unclassifiable magic across Australia. Created and spearheaded by French multi-instrumentalist Gautier Serre, the IGORRR name has expanded from one man’s pseudonym to become a full group identity, which has brought a new level of intensity into the live representations.
Initially influenced by the likes of Meshuggah, Chopin, Cannibal Corpse, Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Taraf De Haidouks And Aphex Twin, traces of these artists can be found littered across IGORRR ‘s discography, but Serre has never been interested in remaining static or merely recycling ideas, and his work has dramatically evolved accordingly. With a truly unique sound blending a multitude of complex layers, Serre excudes total musical freedom by combining all of his disparate tastes into one chaotic, cohesive universe.
IGORRR performing at:
Jan 30th – Adelaide, Froth & Fury Festival
Feb 2nd – Brisbane, The Triffid
Feb 5th – Melbourne, 170 Russell

With over 90 million global streams, a UK No.1 Independent Album (Day by Day, 2024), sold-out UK tours and support slots with Noah Kahan, Calum Scott, James Arthur and Gabrielle already
under their belt, Skinny Living arrive off the back of their boldest release yet, EP 9, the final chapter of a visionary trilogy inspired by Nikola Tesla’s 3-6-9 theory.
Known for blending soul, alt-indie and modern grit, Skinny Living echo the timeless warmth of
Bill Withers, Van Morrison and Paolo Nutini while remaining unmistakably their own. Frontman
Ryan Johnston’s haunted-yet-hopeful Irish voice intertwines with the intricate guitar work and soaring harmonies of Danny Hepworth, creating songs that feel unpolished, deeply human and built to linger.
The band’s name says it all: “Skinny Living is a term that describes the financial reality and lifestyle of the working class. Hard graft on a low income, with a lust for life, passion for family and an optimistic attitude about the future.”
After a decade of relentless hard graft, a chance meeting at an open-mic night and word-of-mouth growth, Skinny Living are ready to share their story of struggle, resilience and glorious soul music with Australian audiences.
With Sydney and Melbourne sitting inside the band’s Top 5 most-streamed cities worldwide, demand is massive and venues are intimate.
These debut shows are long overdue and tickets are limited. Be quick!

Since emerging from the UK post-dubstep scene in the early 2010s, the British producer and songwriter has spent 15 years operating at the intersection of soul, electronic and confessional writing – influencing a generation of artists while answering to no singular genre, scene or label as one of the industry’s most formidable and diverse collaborators, working with Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, SZA, ROSALÍA, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and more, contributing to era-defining modern classics like Blonde, DAMN., ASTROWORLD, Lemonade and Motomami. Roland Leesker Remixes Inner City’s Classic ‘Pennies From Heaven’ On Definitive Recordings
Renowned electronic music label Definitive Recordings presents a powerful new remix of the 1992 House Music classic ‘Pennies From Heaven’ by Inner City, reworked by Roland Leesker.
Originally released during a pivotal era for House music, ‘Pennies From Heaven’ remains one of the defining moments of Inner City’s catalogue, capturing the melodic, vocal-led style that helped bring Detroit-influenced sounds to a global audience. More than three decades on, it returns in a new form that connects its original spirit with a contemporary club approach.
Roland Leesker’s new remix strikingly reinterprets ‘Pennies From Heaven’ as a direct, club-focused House cut. Built around a steady TR-909-driven groove, the track develops through a layered arrangement that gradually introduces elements of the original. The breakdown brings the main vocal and theme into full focus before returning to a stripped, rolling groove aimed at the dancefloor.
Roland Leesker Comments: “Inner City’s 1992 album ‘Praise’ is one of my all-time favourites, and it’s a true honour to remix ‘Pennies From Heaven’. I’ve always had a strong connection to the record, and it was important to me to pay homage to it while remaining true to the spirit of the original throughout the process.”
Roland Leesker has been active in House music since the early 1990s, with roots in Frankfurt’s club scene and a journey that has since taken him through New York, Berlin, and the international electronic music circuit. Through his work with Definitive Recordings and Get Physical Music, he has remained an influential figure within electronic music culture, building a catalogue that includes tracks such as ‘My Warehouse,’ his remix of Roland Clark’s ‘I Get Deep,’ and his latest album, ‘Searching For Peace’.
Founded by Kevin Saunderson, one of the Belleville Three and a key figure in the history of Detroit Techno, Inner City became one of the most influential acts in electronic music through defining releases including ‘Big Fun’ and ‘Good Life’. With millions of records sold worldwide, their catalogue achieved international chart success and widespread club and radio rotation, cementing Inner City as one of the most commercially successful and culturally influential acts to emerge from Detroit’s opening wave of House and Techno.
The new remix of ‘Pennies From Heaven’ connects the original era of Inner City with a contemporary club approach, designed for modern House sets. Both the vinyl and digital releases also include an acapella tool, providing DJs with the original vocal elements for extended mixing, creative layering, and reinterpretation.
Released: 24th July, 2026

AUGUST BURNS RED ANNOUNCES THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER & FALLWEATHER
JOINING THE SEASON OF SURRENDER TOUR AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND 2026
As Australia and New Zealand prepare to surrender to the might of AUGUST BURNS RED this September and October, the GRAMMY Award-nominated stalwarts have announced today that while Sydney’s BLOOM are unfortunately no longer able to perform later this year, Melbourne cinemacore outfit THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER and Melbourne post-hardcore quartet FALLWEATHER will be joining proceedings, alongside I PROMISED THE WORLD (USA) on Australian dates only.
Deranged, enraged and crashing through your pearly gates, Melbourne’s THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER weave chaos and cinematic theatricality into their enigmatic and immersive creations. Spending years sharpening their sound and infamous live performanes across the globe, including Australia, Europe and North America, THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER most recently unleashed their incredible new album Royal Discordance earlier this year, praised by Kerrang! as a “full-scale, full-length epic of blockbuster proportions” and also sonically expanding the band’s sonic palette into unimaginable new heights. Whether touring with the likes of AngelMaker, Wage War, Make Them Suffer and Aviana, or snapping necks and casting lore-soaked spells as a headliners, there is never a dull moment when THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER take the stage, and this September and October they will arrive armed with new music, stunning sonic malice and more.
Hailing from Melbourne, post hardcore act FALLWEATHER weave the nostalgic sound of the early 2000s post hardcore scene with hard-hitting modern metal flair. Injecting nods to the likes of Deftones, Counterparts, Void Of Vision, Northlane and Thornhill into their own unique creative brand, FALLWEATHER most recently released a new single Mourn; a hard-hitting cut from the band’s forthcoming debut album Because You Were Here which will release on August 19. Previously sharing stages with the likes of LANDMVRKS, Senses Fail and amongst many others, FALLWEATHER also recently supported heavy icons Saosin during the band’s Australian run, with Something You Said praising of the Sydney performance that “the Melbourne outfit came out swinging, blending soaring clean vocals with visceral, gut-punch screams in equal measure.”
Commencing on Sunday 27 September in Perth, AUGUST BURNS RED will take their Season Of Surrender Tour through Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle, before heading across the Ditch for their first New Zealand performances in over a decade, ticking off Wellington on Wednesday 8 October and concluding in Auckland on Thursday 8 October.
This September and October, forget Spring and surrender instead to a brand new season of AUGUST BURNS RED when they make their return to Australia and New Zealand stages. Tickets will not last long!

CHILLINIT shares his highly anticipated final record, Wisdom Weed & Wordplay
Shares animated music video for ‘Perfect Tension’
His final national tour, ‘The Last Leg Tour’ kicks off Saturday, 25 July.
Album out now via 420 Family
One of Australia’s notable independent hip-hop artists, Chillinit (aka Blake Turnell) shares his final album, Wisdom Weed & Wordplay, via 420 Family. The album also drops ahead of his final national tour kicking off at the end of July.
The album’s title is a deliberate nod to his 2018 debut, Women Weed & Wordplay — the opening chapter of a career that has taken him from Hurstville to hundreds of millions of streams, and the fitting title for the chapter that closes it.
The album’s production is a rich tapestry of live instrumentation and organic sounds, showcasing Chillinit at his lyrical sharpest. Executive produced and mixed by Ethan Parodi, with Nerve, Cam300G, Kristof Neyens and others handling production, the album sees Chill reflect on the highs and lows of his career. The project peels back the curtain on the toll that the music industry and an exhausting touring schedule took on his young family, his origins, his mistakes, and the wisdom he’s picked up along the way.
“So many memories, so much love,” says Chillinit. “One door closes, and one door opens — I hope I inspired someone or taught someone something through my highs and lows and just being me. See you all on tour.”
Though he’s stepping away from recording and touring to focus on his family and new ventures, the catalogue, community and legacy he built through 420 Family will continue to live long after the final show.
From the kid from Hurstville, they called Underrated, to one of Australian rap’s most undeniable forces — Chillinit built everything on raw lyricism and an independent spirit that never bent. Across an eight-year career, Chillinit released four albums and three mixtapes, earned multiple ARIA Top 5 albums, achieved Gold certification for his debut album, won Best Independent Hip Hop Album/EP twice (The Octagon in 2021 and Family Ties in 2022), received multiple ARIA and APRA nominations, sold more than 80,000 tickets and amassed over 600 million streams.
To coincide with the album release, Chillinit is heading out on his final national tour — The Last Leg — playing all-ages shows across the country. New shows have been added in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with all cities selling fast.

thrown release crushing new single ‘rehearsed’
Swedish metalcore powerhouse thrown return with their crushing new single, “rehearsed”, a venom fueled anthem that transforms heartbreak, manipulation, and betrayal into two minutes of pure sonic devastation.
Driven by furious groove, whiplash inducing tempo shifts, and the band’s trademark blend of nu metal infused heaviness and hardcore aggression, “rehearsed” captures the moment when emotional pain gives way to cold clarity. The track unravels the realization that every apology, every tear, and every attempt at reconciliation was nothing more than a calculated performance. Through savage vocals, relentless riffs, and bone shattering breakdowns, thrown channel the frustration of being deceived into a cathartic explosion of anger and detachment.
Lyrically, “rehearsed” explores the aftermath of emotional manipulation, confronting a toxic relationship with brutal honesty. As the song progresses, vulnerability is replaced by self preservation, culminating in the bitterly triumphant conclusion that the entire act had been carefully rehearsed from the very beginning.
Since emerging from Stockholm, Sweden, thrown have rapidly established themselves as one of modern metal’s most exciting success stories. The band’s debut EP EXTENDED PAIN amassed more than 50 million streams and spent nearly a year in Spotify’s Global Metal Top 200 chart. Their debut album EXCESSIVE GUILT further propelled the quartet onto the international stage, while extensive touring alongside acts such as Knocked Loose, Fit For A King, Counterparts, While She Sleeps, and Wage War has solidified their reputation as one of the most explosive live bands in heavy music today. With more than 1.5 million monthly Spotify listeners and multiple Heavy Music Award wins, including Best Breakthrough Live Artist and Best Breakthrough Album, thrown continue their meteoric rise through the global metal scene.
Sharp, unapologetic, and devastatingly heavy, “rehearsed” showcases thrown at their most focused and ferocious. The single stands as another powerful statement from a band that refuses to slow down and further proves why thrown have become one of the most talked about names in contemporary metalcore.

NEOVISE Unveil Debut Single ‘Gravity’
Arising Empire proudly welcomes NEOVISE to its growing roster of innovative heavy acts. Emerging from Essen, Germany, the band now unveils their debut single, “Gravity”, arriving on June 18, 2026.
With “Gravity”, NEOVISE introduce themselves through a powerful blend of emotional vulnerability, atmospheric electronics, dynamic guitars and an anthemic chorus. The track explores the profound connection between two people, capturing the feeling of finding stability, purpose and strength in someone who becomes the center of your universe.
Built around the idea of surrendering completely to another person while discovering resilience through that devotion, “Gravity” transforms emotional dependence into a source of empowerment. Lyrics such as “You won’t let me break, you won’t let me fall” and “You will pull me back when I hit the wall” paint a vivid picture of being rescued from life’s darkest moments by a force that refuses to let go.
At its core, “Gravity” serves as a metaphor for the one person who keeps everything in orbit — the force that holds a life together when everything else threatens to fall apart. The song’s imagery reaches even deeper with the line “twenty-one grams take a flight”, a deliberate reference to the legendary weight once attributed to the human soul, reinforcing the song’s central question: what does it truly mean to give someone absolutely everything?
While rooted in a real-life story the band has chosen to keep private, “Gravity” remains intentionally open-ended, allowing listeners to connect their own experiences to its themes of devotion, trust and emotional gravity.
Musically, the single showcases NEOVISE’s signature balance between intimacy and impact. Glowing synth textures intertwine with modern heavy instrumentation, creating a cinematic soundscape that feels both uplifting and deeply personal. The result is a debut that effortlessly bridges electronic atmosphere and raw emotional weight.
Adding another remarkable layer to the release, “Gravity” was written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered entirely by NEOVISE themselves, demonstrating the band’s complete creative vision from day one.
Speaking about the track, vocalist Daniel explains: “There’s a line about twenty-one grams, the weight people once gave the human soul. That’s the whole song in three words. What does it actually take to give someone absolutely everything?”
Guitarist and producer Simon adds: “We wanted our first song to do everything the band does at once, and ‘Gravity’ was the one. It perfectly captures that space between extremes. It’s intimate, it’s electronic, but at its core, it still carries a massive raw weight.”
With “Gravity”, NEOVISE deliver an unforgettable first statement — a debut that feels intimate, cinematic and unmistakably their own, while offering a compelling glimpse into what lies ahead for one of Germany’s most promising new alternative acts.

GET THE SHOT Unleash Pure Hardcore Fury On ‘FEED ME TO THE PIGS’
Canadian hardcore heavyweights Get The Shot return with one of their most punishing and emotionally devastating tracks to date: “FEED ME TO THE PIGS.”
A relentless collision of self destruction, regret and psychological collapse, the new single sees the Québec City outfit pushing their trademark blend of hardcore, thrash infused aggression and metallic brutality to its absolute breaking point. Fueled by blistering drums, razor sharp riffs and vocals that sound moments away from complete implosion, “FEED ME TO THE PIGS” is a suffocating descent into the darkest corners of the human psyche.
Lyrically, the track confronts the vicious cycle of becoming complicit in your own downfall. Themes of anxiety, insecurity, self sabotage and emotional exhaustion are laid bare with uncompromising honesty. Every crushing breakdown and every desperate scream amplifies the feeling of being trapped inside a mind at war with itself, chasing relief while sinking deeper into the very patterns that caused the pain in the first place.
For more than fifteen years, Get The Shot have established themselves as one of the most respected and explosive forces in modern hardcore. Formed in Québec City in 2009, the band has built its reputation through relentless touring, uncompromising records and an intense live show that has earned them a dedicated global following. With millions of streams across digital platforms and a growing international fanbase, Get The Shot have become one of Canada’s premier hardcore exports.
Over the years, the band has shared stages with genre heavyweights including Lionheart, Comeback Kid, Nasty and Deez Nuts while performing at major festivals across Europe and North America. Their crushing fusion of hardcore, thrash metal and metallic aggression has resonated far beyond the underground, earning them a reputation for delivering both uncompromising records and unforgettable live performances.
Known for continuously pushing their sound forward, Get The Shot have evolved across acclaimed releases such as No Peace In Hell, Infinite Punishment and Merciless Destruction. Since joining the Arising Empire roster, the band has expanded its global reach while staying true to the raw intensity, authenticity and conviction that have defined its identity from day one.
“FEED ME TO THE PIGS” captures everything that has made Get The Shot a standout name in heavy music. Unfiltered rage, crushing heaviness and a willingness to expose uncomfortable truths collide in a track that feels both devastatingly personal and universally relatable. Beneath its violent exterior lies a portrait of someone trapped in an endless struggle against their own reflection, desperately searching for meaning while spiraling deeper into chaos.
The result is one of the band’s most urgent and emotionally charged songs to date. Every riff cuts deeper, every breakdown lands harder and every vocal line feels like a final cry from the edge. Balancing raw aggression with an undeniable sense of vulnerability, “FEED ME TO THE PIGS” showcases Get The Shot at their most visceral, uncompromising and authentic.
Brutal, cathartic and unapologetically honest, “FEED ME TO THE PIGS” stands as a powerful reminder of why Get The Shot remain one of the leading voices in contemporary hardcore. As the band continues to push its sound forward and reach new audiences worldwide, this latest single proves that their fire burns hotter than ever.

LAURA FRANK announces forthcoming debut album LIFE IN THE FRONT SEAT out October 7.
Powerful new single ‘HOW DO WE’ out now
Continuing to blaze a trail through 2026, Brisbane songwriter and performer LAURA FRANK has today announced LIFE IN THE FRONT SEAT, her debut studio album set for release later this year on October 7th. To celebrate, she shares another slice of heartfelt alt-country music with new single, ‘HOW DO WE’.
Following on from previous releases ‘Get What We Deserve’ and ‘God Knows, I Know’, this new release further explores Laura’s sharp blend of emotional lyricism and inviting music; ‘How Do We’ is equal parts hard-hitting and vulnerable. For Laura, being able to strip things back in navigating a story of a broken down relationship like this, led to one of her favourite creative processes to date.
The song, shining with its intimacy, stands as another strong release from the artist – another example of why Laura Frank has become in recent years, a powerful songwriter to watch. Working with producer Jordan Power at Bernard Fanning’s custom-built recording studio in Brooklet, NSW, Laura fleshed this song out with the input of a dream team of musicians including Grant Gerathy (John Butler Trio), Michael Moko (Kasey Chambers, Fanny Lumsden), Jason Daniels (The Dreggs), Ollie Thorpe (Troy Cassar-Daley), Nick Morrissey and Mike Mills. Also heard on this song, are talented singers Jen Mize and Kaitlyn Thomas, adding to the emotional weight of ‘How Do We’ with backing vocals.
“‘How Do We’ is, in its simplest form, a song about a relationship breakdown — but more specifically, it’s about that moment when you’ve reached the end of the road and you genuinely don’t know what comes next. Do we fix it? Can we? Do we stay or do we go?
It’s a song full of questions because that’s exactly what that moment feels like — you don’t have the answers, you just have the weight of everything that’s broken and the impossible task of figuring out what to do with it. The title says it all, really. ‘How Do We’ — we didn’t even know how to finish the sentence.” LAURA FRANK
Frank explains that the time she spent with the team in the studio recording the album was the perfect environment for her creative process, saying ”We recorded Life In The Front Seat at Brooklet Recording — one of my favourite places on earth. It’s the kind of space that lets you switch off from everything else and commit fully to what you’re creating, and that’s exactly what we did. Two weeks, nearly a decade of songs, and some of my favourite people in the world.
We recorded with long-time collaborators Grant Gerathy, Mike Mills, and the rest of the wonderful band — and the process was exactly what I love most about making music. Everyone in the room together, live tracking, throwing ideas around, seeing what sticks. Some of what you hear on this album is a full band live take — just us, sitting in a room, playing and figuring it out in real time. That energy is irreplaceable.”
With a sound that evokes the likes of Grace Potter and Brandi Carlile, Laura has developed a strong following off the back of incredible live shows nationwide; shows that have spoken to the core of her heart-led music. As a headliner, Laura has dominated the country’s live circuit, while also sharing the stage with artists such as Brad Cox, James Blundell and Melanie Dyer. She has also made appearances at festivals such as Tamworth Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster and the Groundwater Country Music Festival. In 2026 Laura has already completed a massive 60-date Australian tour, all the while preparing for the release of LIFE IN THE FRONT SEAT.
To celebrate the release of ‘How Do We’, Laura will be performing an intimate release show at White Chapel in Kalbar QLD on June 24th. On top of that, she’ll be performing at the Deni Ute Muster in October later this year.

honestav RELEASES HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED SOPHOMORE ALBUM SWEET AMERICAN BOY OUT NOW
ACCOMPANIED BY A MUSIC VIDEO FOR “KNOW BETTER” AND COLLABORATIONS WITH MGK, JAYY WICK, AND DAMIEN STYLES TOURING AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND JANUARY 2027
LISTEN HERE | WATCH THE “KNOW BETTER” VIDEO HERE
The highly anticipated sophomore album from viral alternative singer-songwriter honestav (Av), Sweet American Boy, is out now on all platforms via Rebel Music/gamma. The new project features collaborations with Grammy-nominated recording artist mgk, Southern rapper JaYy Wick, and LA-based sonic disruptor Damien Styles. Sweet American Boy arrives with a music video for focus track “Know Better”
A standout amongst a powerful tracklist, “Know Better” is a stripped-down, indie-folk ballad chronicling Av’s insecurities in a rocky relationship. After teasing the track on social media, Av has officially shared the music video, a one-shot take on Av’s growth from a small-town boy to a global star. Filmed on an empty studio lot, the simple yet powerful video follows a day in the life of Av, showing him sitting side by side with a younger version of himself before moving on to become the man he is now.
Av speaks on his new album: “When everything started blowing up, I felt like I was constantly playing catch-up with my own reality. This album is me finally stopping to look in the mirror and deal with the fallout. It’s about the friction between who I used to be and the person I’m becoming. I wanted to create something that sounds like the chaos in my mind—stripping it down to a guitar one minute, and letting it explode into something massive the next. It’s an album about survival, mistakes, and trying to keep your feet on the ground when your whole world shifts overnight.”
Known for his emotionally vulnerable songwriting pulling from personal experiences with hardship and loss, Av has delivered a fully-realized body of work with Sweet American Boy. Blending alternative rock, indie-folk, hip-hop, and pop influences throughout the album, the fast-rising artist showcases his eclectic musical palette, including on “Jacob’s Song” feat. Damien Styles, which features a sample of Blink-182’s beloved “Adam’s Song.” Av’s sophomore project carries listeners through his tumultuous youth in rural Missouri to his arrival in Hollywood, navigating his newfound stardom while grappling with his mental health. The 16-track album comes one week after Av and mgk released the “Crash First” single and music video, now trending on Youtube. The music video was shot during mgk’s recent Australia and New Zealand tour, where the rockstar officially co-signed Av by inviting him on as the opening act.
Sweet American Boy follows hara-kiri, his debut album featuring breakout single “I’d Rather Overdose,” which catapulted Av into the national spotlight, landed in multiple Billboard Charts, and amassed over 85 million streams.
The Sweet American Boy Tour kicks off this August with 44 shows across North America, Europe, with Australia and New Zealand shows in January 2027. This marks Av’s debut global tour in support of the new album. General on-sale begins Friday, June 19 at 10am local. Tickets available HERE.

Polish extreme metal legends, BEHEMOTH, unleash ‘I, Scvlptor’, the first single from their new studio release, I, Scvlptor. Nergal commented on the new single:
“’I, Scvlptor’ is a new Behemoth song rooted in the tradition of monumental tracks like ‘O Father O Satan O Sun!’, ‘Lucifer’ or ‘Nieboga Czarny Xiądz’, while at the same time opening a new chapter. It carries that epic weight but also takes an unexpected turn that makes it feel fresh and different from the previous pieces. Lyrically, it is a metaphor for the endless process of shaping oneself – an uneven struggle with matter and personal limitations. The paradox is that from the moment we are born we are already destined to die, so perhaps it is not about victory itself, but about the constant act of sculpting who we are”.
‘I, Scvlptor’, which will be out 04 September 2026, is an exclusive release featuring eight previously unreleased songs – seven new studio recordings and one live track. It is an autonomous body of work that bridges the band’s foundational past with their present creative fire. The release features brand-new studio material embodying the full force of Behemoth’s live energy and intensity. Two tracks – ‘Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil’ (from The Return of the Northern Moon, 1992) and ‘In Thy Pandemaeternum’ (from Pandemonic Incantations, 1998) – are newly re-recorded versions of early Behemoth material, reshaped with modern sonics while preserving their original spirit; a tribute to the bands who had a huge influence on Behemoth – ‘In League With Satan’ (originally by Venom, feat. Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir) and ‘The Return of Darkness and Evil’ (originally by Bathory, feat. Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ). Available on CD, LP, MC and Limited-Edition Box Set through Massacre Records worldwide and digitally via Nuclear Blast Records.
Nergal commented:
“We’re fucking excited about the release of I, Scvlptor. Even though it’s not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. What’s more, some of these tracks are likely a little different from what we offered on our last album, The Shit Ov God. That’s why we see I, Scvlptor as an important record — a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future.”
Tracklist:
1. I, Scvlptor
2. Lord ov the Horizons
3. Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil
4. In Thy Pandemaeternum
5. Begotten
6. In League With Satan
7. The Return of Darkness and Evil [Live]
8. Lord ov the Horizons [Alt. Version]

BEARTOOTH SHARES NEW SINGLE BULLSHIT
LISTEN HERE | WATCH HERE
TRACK OFF NEW ALBUM PURE ECSTASY OUT AUGUST 28 VIA FEARLESS RECORDS
TOURING AUSTRALIA NATIONALLY IN JANUARY 2027
Beartooth have shared their new single Bullshit, the latest track from their forthcoming album Pure Ecstasy, due August 28 via Fearless Records. The song arrives as anticipation continues to build around the band’s sixth studio album and follows the previously released tracks Pure Ecstasy and Free.
The forthcoming LP finds frontman Caleb Shomo pushing Beartooth further than ever before across 11 massive tracks that channel both the chaos and clarity of hard-won personal growth. Channeling the visceral intensity that first established Beartooth as a force in heavy music, today’s song serves as one of the album’s most cathartic moments. Shomo says, “Bullshit is a familiar song I’ve written many times. I wanted to revisit the musical style that was the catalyst of so much healing and discovery in my earlier years of Beartooth. It’s an exercise in letting the truth out about what you’re sick of in your own life. Sometimes the easiest way to deal with something is to yell about it as loud as you can. Can confirm, it felt as amazing to do this exercise now as I’d did when I was 19.”
Listen/share Bullshit here and watch the video here:
For years, Beartooth turned pain into anthems shouted back at the world. Pure Ecstasy captures what happens on the other side of that fight: not perfection or peace, but the possibility of freedom. The album’s acclaimed first two singles offered an early glimpse into that journey. The title track lays everything bare from the first note, setting the tone for an LP built on confronting every high and low without flinching, while Shomo cites Free as “the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make.”
Beartooth will be supporting Pure Ecstasy with the massive “Pure Ecstasy World Tour” that kicks off September 17 in Europe. The North American leg begins on November 11 in Boston and includes stops at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on November 12 and The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on December 18. Special guests Don Broco, Magnolia Park and Windwaker are the support for all dates.
Following the chart-dominating success of 2023’s The Surface – which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative and Hard Music charts and produced the No. 1 rock radio hits Might Love Myself and I Was Alive – Beartooth entered a new creative and commercial stratosphere. Pure Ecstasy builds on that momentum while expanding the band into even more ambitious territory, capturing Shomo reckoning with both the darkest and brightest parts of himself in real time.
That honesty has always been the foundation of Beartooth. Since emerging from Shomo’s Ohio basement in 2013, the band has transformed anxiety, depression, anger, and self-destruction into cathartic modern rock anthems that resonate with millions worldwide. From the gold-certified Hated and platinum In Between to over 1.3 billion streams globally, sold-out tours, and a recent run supporting Bad Omens on their arena tour, Beartooth’s rise has mirrored the growing mainstream dominance of modern heavy music itself.
But Pure Ecstasy represents something different. Bigger and more collaborative than any previous Beartooth album, the record finds Shomo stretching himself toward a new level of vulnerability – and for the first time he didn’t do it alone. Early songwriting contributions from Skyler Accord (Issues, Twenty One Pilots, Bilmuri) helped shape early tracks. Meanwhile, working alongside Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Poppy, Architects) cracked Caleb fully open, pushing a rawer examination than ever before. The collaborative spirit continued throughout the recording process as well: bassist Oshie Bichar, guitarists Zach Huston and Will Deely, and drummer Connor Denis – who have evolved into a formidable live unit around Shomo — all played larger roles than ever before. Pure Ecstasy also marks the first Beartooth album where Shomo did not perform every instrument himself, with Denis performing drums across the record during sessions at NRG Recording Studios.
Unsurprisingly, Beartooth’s live shows are as cathartic and immersive as the band’s beloved back catalogue, routinely praised as one of the top-tier modern bands on the scene, complete with intensity, theatrical flourishes, a healthy balance of new and classic favourites, and a personal connection that transcends barriers and expectations. Helmed by Shomo’s raw and passionate stylings, Beartooth’s return to Australia in 2027 will build on the band’s previous live adventures down under, with their most recent co-headline run with Pierce The Veil in 2023 resoundingly praised.

ABOUT THE STEMS
The Stems attained their own legendary status in the Australian and International music scene – roaring out of Perth with a sound and style that definitively captured the spirit and enthusiasm of sixties garage music – lurching fuzz-tone guitars, brooding organ, solid gold garage-punk, and primo power pop! They not only created a distinctive sonic identity but also penned unforgettable songs while delivering electrifying live performances.
In the late ’80s, The Stems achieved acclaim with a series of singles and EPs and the timeless ‘At First Sight, Violet are Blue’ LP in 1987. The group disbanded in late 1987 and made a significant comeback in 2003, playing to sold-out crowds nationwide. Since then, they have continued to tour regularly in front of audiences across Australia, Europe, Japan, and the United States.

Dashville Community Records Presents WINTER’S BACK
The latest single by Magpie Diaries
A simple introspective song, inspired by the change in season and how it can trigger change in mood.
June 19, 2026: ‘Winter’s Back’ is the first song to be lifted from Magpie Diaries’ new album, Down By The River, due for release this Spring via Dashville Community Records.
Magpie tells the story:
“This song was written last July, around the campfire, jamming away with a few mates at Dashville, after watching the winter fog roll in through the bush.
We named the fog Norah, as we all sat around avoiding its late-night grasps from outside the wall of our luxurious fires’ warmth.
It felt nice to give the fog a name, a persona, a tip of the hat to someone who tends to creep up on you, teaching you things, tapping at your fragility and letting you know to dig deeper, to hold on.
Seasonal depression is a real thing, but only through writing this song did I become aware that some people get it with summer and the overwhelming heat, I thought it was just a winter thing.”
The album was recorded in Tasmania, in an old apple boat shed on the Huon River, with Engineer Jethro Pickett.
A bunch of players all nestled around the kitchen table, recorded 9 songs in 6 hours, in a session all songwriters dream of. Players included Cam Henderson, Todd Johnston, Jeremy Marcotte, Louis Gill, and Magpie.
And the result is a fine pudding. Not overworked, but very special.
A new album, built from more of a traditional folk, bluegrass style approach, but a little more whack and less tradition.
Just good humble pudding and this song is the first taste of it. We hope you enjoy.

ENDSEEKER German Death Metal Horde Unleashes David Hasselhoff Cover, “True Survivor;” feat Lord of the Lost. Farewell EP, Coffin Born, Out Now On Metal Blade Records
German death metal horde ENDSEEKER are pleased to unleash a special cover and accompanying video of their rendition of David Hasselhoff’s “True Survivor,” featuring Lord Of The Lost. The track appears on the band’s fiery farewell EP, Coffin Born, released on June 19th via Metal Blade Records.
“In the first place, we just love this song,” the band elaborates. “It’s from the movie Kung Fury which absolutely everyone must watch, because it’s a fucking masterpiece and this song is probably the best performance of Hasselhoff ever. We asked our friends in Lord Of The Lost if they would like to join us for this song because we felt like it needed some extra glitter. We think it turned out amazing! Two bands from Hamburg from different genres united in an unexpected cover song. Super-fun project and quite outside the box for a death metal band.”

Watch ENDSEEKER’s previously released video for “Enemies Of Peace” HERE.
“We’ve accomplished more than we have ever imagined in our wildest dreams,” reflects the band on their final release. “We played with fantastic bands, played super-cool festivals, and released four albums and two EPs of which we are extremely proud. We were blessed with great and loyal fans and managed to stay a consistent lineup throughout our whole career. But after grinding for more than a decade and dedicating so much time and energy to this band, we feel like it’s time to move on to other projects. We wanted to end this band like we started – as very good friends. We started with an EP and we end it with an EP. It just feels right to do this now, while we still have the power to deliver a great farewell performance as well in the studio as on stage.”
Since their 2015 debut EP Corrosive Revelation, each release has hoisted the Hamburg quintet further up the death metal mountain, with Mount Carcass (2021) and Global Worming (2023) receiving widespread acclaim.
Produced by the band with drums engineered by Eike Freese (Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Helloween), Coffin Born stands as ENDSEEKER’s swan song, shaped by the intense bond of a lineup that remained together throughout their whole career.

NORTH SEA ECHOES Featuring Ray Alder and Jim Matheos Of Fates Warning to Release How To Cast A Shadow Full-Length July 24 On Metal Blade Records. New Single Enjoy The View, Out Now
NORTH SEA ECHOES – featuring progressive metal pioneers singer Ray Alder and guitarist Jim Matheos of Fates Warning – are back with a new studio album, How To Cast A Shadow, set for release on July 24th on Metal Blade Records!
On NORTH SEA ECHOES’ critically acclaimed 2024 debut, Really Good Terrible Things, Alder and Matheos garnered rave reviews for songs that possessed, “liberating sonic space and emotional vulnerability… from somnambulant electro-fog to gritty, overdriven disquiet, to the quietly devastating (Blabbermouth).”
With this year’s How To Cast A Shadow, the band’s identity is further explored and expanded. Matheos explains, “this record is a bit heavier, with several more songs featuring real drums, played by Dennis Leeflang. It wasn’t necessarily intentional or planned, just the way things shaped up and how they emerged this time.”
Alder concurs. “[A track like] ‘I’ll Leave A Light On’ is much heavier than anything on Really Good Terrible Things. It has a darker, melancholic feel that fits well on this album. I loosely based the lyrics on a character from my favorite sci-fi series. I won’t say which, but they do use the quote ‘out there in the black.’”
From the radio-ready rock of “All That Comes After” and the intimate, escalating “A Time Of Innocence And Purpose” to the powerful, timeless ballad “Villains Or Saints,” How To Cast A Shadow cohesively crosses genres and challenges aural preconceptions.
The duo’s shared and separate histories help to forge a fresh creative opus. Alder has been the vocalist and main co-writer for prog metal heroes Fates Warning for 37 years, recording ten albums between 1988 (No Exit) and 2020 (Long Day Good Night). Rounding out his discography are seven albums with Redemption, two solo records, and the band A-Z, which debuted in 2022.
Revered guitarist and producer Matheos is a cofounder of Fates Warning, the lineup debuting with 1984’s Night On Bröcken on Metal Blade. In addition to thirteen albums with Fates Warning, Matheos launched several solo albums, four LPs alongside former Dream Theater keyboardist Kevin Moore under the name OSI, and Kings Of Mercia, which launched in 2022.
Of NORTH SEA ECHOES’ sophomore album, the team says, “You could say that there are elements of everything we do or have done on this album, yet Fates and our various other projects are totally different types of music.” How To Cast A Shadow ups the promise of its predecessor with provocative words of hope, sorrow and consciousness, paired with Matheos’ equally emotive, varied and deeply moving guitar work.
In advance of the release, today the band unveils the lead single, “Enjoy the View.” Comments Alder, “The guitars and drums have this great drive that builds throughout the song. The combination of quiet verses and heavy choruses made me think (lyrically) of a darker side to some people. Those who would choose numbness over pain.”

DRY WEDDING Unveil new single “Moths” with video and announce upcoming album
Vesperian presents “Moths”, the second single from Portland based DRY WEDDING, arriving alongside a new video and marking the announcement of the band’s upcoming third album, set for release on July 31 through Metal Blade Records.
Following the release of “Arrowhead”, which introduced listeners to the band’s most intense and expansive material to date, “Moths” deepens the sonic palette. The track leans into restraint and atmosphere while maintaining the raw physicality that defines the band’s sound. Layers of post punk tension, gothic country textures, and the weight of noise rock and doom converge into something both deliberate and volatile.
“As we began writing our third album, we wanted to push certain sonic elements further than ever. ‘Moths’ was an exercise in patience and restraint, and it quickly became a band favorite. Our new music video blends raw performance footage with Lynchian visuals to reflect the song’s lyrical themes, the tenebrous parts of ourselves that we hope to conceal and the all consuming impact of bringing them to light.”
Davey Ferchow, DRY WEDDING
Directed by Olivia Bayer, the video reinforces this duality, combining direct, unfiltered performance with a more abstract visual language. The result is a piece that mirrors the internal tension at the core of the track, where control and collapse coexist.

The band’s third album, “The Back Of Beyond”, will be released on July 31 via Vesperian. Recorded and mixed by Adam Pike at Toadhouse Recording and mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering in Portland, Oregon, the album further expands the band’s blend of post punk tension, gothic country atmosphere, noise rock weight and doom laden intensity. The album artwork was created by Adam Burke of Nightjar Illustration, with layout and design by John Haughm. The tracklist is as follows:
Arrowhead
The Serpent Box
Sure As A Gun
Blood-Red Vengeance
One Last Strand
Moths
Shifting Wilderness
Pre-orders for “The Back Of Beyond” are now available from
https://www.metalblade.com/drywedding/
With this new material, DRY WEDDING continues to refine a sound that resists easy categorization, moving fluidly between genres while maintaining a distinct identity rooted in intensity, texture, and emotional weight.
DRY WEDDING are a Portland based band operating at the intersection of post punk, gothic country, noise rock, black metal and doom. Now presenting their third album, the band have continued to evolve a sound that balances restraint and intensity, combining raw physical performance with a strong atmospheric and narrative dimension. Across their work, DRY WEDDING have developed an identity that feels both deliberate and unpredictable, equally focused on sonic detail and visceral impact.

LOATHE RETURN WITH THE HARD-EDGED PSYCHEDELIA OF FANGS
HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM A STRANGER TO YOU
RELEASED JULY 17 VIA SHARPTONE RECORDS
In just under a month, UK alternative group Loathe will return to unveil A Stranger To You; one of contemporary heavy music’s most mythologised albums. Coming six years after their second album I Let It In And It Took Everything, A Stranger To You comes in the wake of an album that influenced a wave of bands towards world domination. On July 17, that influence will be redefined again – with A Stranger To You exhibiting six years of personal and collective growth both within the music and themselves within a magnum opus that spans a breadth of eclectic sounds and techniques. Today, Loathe shares a prime example of that sonic growth in a brand new single, Fangs.
Opening to a glistening portal of synth tones, Fangs is soon enveloped with a signature Loathe groove; unconventional in rhythm, but undoubtedly enticing. The track then makes way for a spacious psychedelia that integrates ambient atmospheres, reverberated acoustic guitars, and shades of R&B that provide the perfect balm to the song’s more direct opening refrain. Perfectly embodying the push-and-pull between the brash and immersive that Loathe have mastered across their output, Fangs brings true innovation to the fore; fearlessly experimenting with a template that they helped to build years ago and unlocking something unique and above all else, truly creative in the process.

Easily the most adventurous work of Loathe’s career, A Stranger To You finds the band telling the story of the last six years within 14 staggeringly complex but rewarding beyond all measure cuts of alternative music. An album designed to ensure that each second without new music from the band has been worth the wait, Loathe has presented an attention to detail within A Stranger To You that will leave the listener uncovering layers of artistic brilliance long after the first play.
A Stranger To You is, in many ways, a rarity in today’s single-driven musical landscape, opting to return to the gold standard of a methodically laid out, interconnected track sequence that provides an experience best consumed from start to finish. That experience will be open to all from July 17; a chance to delve headfirst into the artistic evolution and creative rebirth of Loathe on A Stranger To You, an album that is destined to take its place at the pinnacle of heavy music’s pantheon of generational works.

GREEN LUNG Reveal ‘Necropolitan Line’ A MOTÖRHEAD-MEETS-DEEP-PURPLE Homage To London’s Necropolis Railway. New Album NECROPOLITAN Out 11th September 2026
PRE-ORDER
Albion’s masters of folklore, riffs and legends return with another slab of tomb-shaking, crypt-kicking occult rock. Green Lung have revealed their latest track, ‘Necropolitan Line’, a Motorhead-meets-Deep Purple subterranean rampage across London’s infamous Necropolis Railway.
‘Necropolitan Line’ is taken from Green Lung’s forthcoming new record, Necropolitan, due out on Friday September 11th 2026. A monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, Necropolitan is also a grand celebration of the occult lore and heavy music scene of the band’s birthplace, the city of London.
Green Lung stated:
“Is there a more fitting subject for a Green Lung song than the Necropolis Railway, a real-life train line that carried corpses and mourners across London in the late 19th Century? Mix in some inspiration from 1972’s London Underground-set shocker Death Line, a madcap neoclassical organ/guitar duel that evokes Richie Blackmore and Jon Lord at their finger blistering best, and a record Lung BPM of 180, and you have the second single from our fourth album. We can’t wait to play this one live for the first time at the Acid Bath show in Manchester on Thursday. Mind the doors!”
The video, directed by Tracy Mathewson and featuring animation from Joseph Brett, is a tribute to the early 70s German TV show Beat Club, which featured Lung antecedents such as Sabbath, Purple and Lucifer’s Friend. Featuring an introduction from longtime roadie Metal Joe, we enter the band’s own warped version of the show, titled Crypt Club. Will future episodes follow? Only time will tell…

With producer Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Ghost) at the helm, this time handling everything from recording to mixing, the band decamped to Rockfield Studios in January 2026, following in the muddy footprints of some of their key inspirations, from Black Sabbath to Queen to Judas Priest. Sonically, they were set on capturing their megalithic live sound more accurately than ever – stripping back their usual dense, multilayered arrangements to their rawest, leanest form and recording much of the album live to capture their Sabbathian heaviness, frenzied Hammonds and haunting Mellotrons as faithfully as possible.
The result is an album that combines the soaring hookiness of This Heathen Land with an uncompromising rawness and heaviness, and takes the band’s distinctive brand of sonic storytelling to macabre new heights.
If, a year after Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning show and the death of Ozzy Osbourne, you had any doubts about the future of traditional British metal, Necropolitan will lay them to rest. Here is a band taking the torch from the heavy metal godfathers and running with it, bursting with all the musicianship and storytelling flair that has kept the genre’s flame burning for a half-century, and using it to temper a lyrical and sonic world that is entirely their own.
A cult band in every sense of the word, Green Lung emerged from London’s heavy rock scene with self-released debut EP Free the Witch (2018).
Drawing on a host of peculiarly British musical influences, from doomy hard rock to pastoral prog and psych to the Hammer Horror theatrics of the NWOBHM, the band have swiftly risen to the forefront of the UK metal scene.
Lyrically celebrating the folklore, myths and legends of Britain, they conjure the wild and witchy spirit of their forebears for a new generation.
Green Lung have released three critically acclaimed albums, Woodland Rites (2019), Black Harvest (2021) and This Heathen Land (2023). They have toured internationally with Clutch, Opeth and Unto Others, and performed on festival stages from Roadburn to Download. Their latest album This Heathen Land landed at #1 on the UK’s Official Rock and Metal Album Chart.

PRINCE OF FAILURE The New Studio Album From Daniel Tompkins (Tesseract) And Paul Ortiz (Chimp Spanner). Out Now Alongside New Video For ‘Phantom’
“an immersive progressive metal album that relies less on intricate prog technicality than on emotional depth, atmosphere, and honest self-reflection—highly recommended!” 6/7 METAL HAMMER
“Tompkins’ superb vocals elevate versatile modern prog tracks where a harsh, sci-fi coldness blends beautifully with subtle electronica and a slightly dark underlying atmosphere. Definitely recommended for Tesseract fans!” ROCK HARD
“the most emotional and focused record either of them have been involved with. Prince Of Failure is a stunning, heartfelt project that has produced an equally breathtaking album” PUNKTASTIC
Prince of Failure’s self-titled debut album is out now. Marking a significant shift in Daniel Tompkins’ creative world, Prince Of Failure was written and developed over several years with Paul Ortiz (Chimp Spanner) and traces a long internal process rather than a single moment of inspiration. The material reflects on neurodivergence, masking, and the psychological weight of living out of alignment with expectation – themes that shape both the narrative and the sound of the record.
Alongside the album release today, Prince Of Failure have also shared a new video for the track ‘Phantom’.
Watch The New Video For ‘Phantom’, Created By Gavin (Tiltshift)
“Phantom” explores the fight against the darker forces that live both within and around us. It’s about being haunted by destructive impulses, temptation, and the feeling of losing control to something that seems impossible to escape. Within the wider story of the album, it represents a descent into chaos – the moment where the protagonist is forced to confront the parts of himself he’s tried to suppress, only to realise that the battle may already be consuming him. Themes of conflict, self-destruction, and overwhelming power run throughout the song, creating a sense of inevitable collapse as everything begins to burn around him.
“The idea behind Phantom was to capture that feeling of being at war with yourself – when your own thoughts and desires become the enemy. There’s this constant tension between resisting and surrendering, and the song lives in that space. It’s aggressive, chaotic, and ultimately about facing the consequences of forces you can no longer control.” – Dan Tompkins

Musically, the album develops the atmosphere of Daniel Tompkins’ earlier solo work into darker, more reflective territory. Paul’s spacious arrangements, electronic textures and powerful guitar work sit alongside intimate, close-mic vocals, creating a strong sense of immediacy without sacrificing the dynamic scope associated with Tompkins’ progressive background and work with TesseracT. The pacing is restrained and deliberate with interludes and recurring motifs reinforcing the feeling of a continuous psychological arc.
The decision to release the record under the name Prince of Failure reflects the collaborative identity of the project and separates it from Tompkins’ previous roles. It allows the work to exist on its own terms, without reference to past expectations. The Prince of Failure now stands as an official creative partnership between Tompkins and Ortiz, a shared vision with long-term intent.

About 156/Silence: 156/Silence makes intense, foreboding, and haunting music. Their songs are cinematic, blending brutality with intellect. They draw on real and imagined terror, all woven into melody and power. Vocalist and lyricist Jack Murray, guitarist and primary songwriter Jimmy Howell, guitarist Ryan Wilkinson, drummer Kyle O’Connell, and bassist Mike Ernst form a formidable unit, forged through shared passions and losses since the band’s earliest incarnation first formed in Pittsburgh in 2015.
2024’s crowd pleaser, People Watching, was a watershed moment, boasting breakout anthems Better Written Villain and Character Development (Cold Start). Distorted Sound wrote, “There is enough in the band’s repertoire to not only keep you entertained but also keep you guessing.”
From a Distance, its spiritual sequel and the band’s first album with Pure Noise Records, ups the ante with gut-wrenching depth and atmosphere. Their sixth album is dark and ponderous yet triumphantly self assured. (It follows the devastating standalone single Our Parting Ways, released in 2025 in loving tribute to longtime bassist Lukas Booker, who passed away unexpectedly earlier that year.)
The group’s reputation as a live force of nature was earned on the road, where they deliver audience connection and sonic devastation while touring with the likes of The Devil Wears Prada, Chiodos, Fit For A King, Counterparts, Silent Planet, and The Acacia Strain, among other contemporaries.
Produced by Josh Schroeder (King 810, Lorna Shore, The Plot In You), From a Distance finds 156/Silence heavy as hell, while leaning into atmosphere, mood, and emotional impact even harder. The group reverently namechecks classic game scores like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, and the heady concepts of prestige TV like Twin Peaks (a sample from Apple TV’s Severance opens the album).
Murray’s lyrics remain keenly observational, personal, and incisive. From a Distance serves as a bold thematic companion to its predecessor. While earlier records often documented tension at close range, From a Distance observes from a wider vantage point, examining social behavior, celebrity worship, intrusive thoughts, and interpersonal connection with steely focus. That authenticity is crucial to the band’s ever-growing audience.
No two 156/Silence albums are alike, from the unhinged frenetic chaos of Undercover Scumbag (2018) to the gloriously savage and technical Irrational Pull (2020), which Metal Hammer likened to Converge and Botch. The diverse ruminations found in Narrative (2022) took things even further. BrooklynVegan called that album “bolder and richer” and “an exciting step forward for [the] band.”
People Watching continued the prolific outfit’s tradition of steadfast evolution and innovation. Revolver praised the dark melodic edge of the Animal Farm-inspired Better Written Villain, declaring, “156/Silence may have just penned an instant classic of their own canon.”
As Howell points out, they’d never really tried singing choruses and hooks prior to People Watching. “It went so well that we decided to double down on that.” From a Distance also features guest appearances from some formidable vocalists: Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Alex Reade of Make Them Suffer, and Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism. It also cranks up the soundscapes.
“I look toward bands we love that grew with their listeners, like Thrice and Bring Me The Horizon,” Howell says of their continuing creative mission. “They have a sound, but they grow and change. Some bands are comfortable repeating the same thing again. I don’t want to do that. I want to make you feel the way you do when you hear one of those important bands, without sounding like them.”
Murray describes the title track as “a love song” and “probably the most Twin Peaks-inspired song.”
From a Distance cuts deeper into People Watching’s lyrical heart. Proxy Idols tackles celebrity worship. Order & Entropy contemplates maintaining focus amid the utter devastation of things falling apart. Swept from Under (Call of the Void) sees Murray wrestling with intrusive thoughts. “They tell you to hurt yourself, even when you don’t feel bad,” he says. “It’s just the ever-looming shadow of weird and intrusive thoughts, and negativity, of just being swept from under by the void.”
From straightforward hard rock to synth-heavy experimentation and all the way back to the band’s deadly mathcore roots, 156/Silence have established themselves as unbound by any genre limitation.
“We could go anywhere now, and that’s the goal,” Howell says. “Nothing is ever off the table.”

KAYPS ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM ‘BUNUBA BABY’
REVEALS LEAD SINGLE ‘765’
20-year-old Indigenous Walmatjarri and Bunuba hip-hop artist and producer Kayps has just announced his debut album ‘BUNUBA BABY’ – due out Friday, August 14, via Bad Apples Music through Universal Music Australia. Pre-save ‘BUNUBA BABY’ HERE.
Serving as the first taste of the album, ‘765’ showcases Kayps’ ability to blend infectious, melodic hooks with blistering, intricate rap flows. Co-produced and mixed by Calvin Bennett (Marie Cassandra, Jewel Owusu), the track is built on a foundation of booming bass drums and bursts of ecstatic synths, remaining remarkably sparse yet grandiose when elevated.
“‘765’ is the first single off my forthcoming album ‘BUNUBA BABY’, which is a project to showcase a personal side of me, speaking more about my relationship with culture, facing the confusion, anger and frustrations of being mixed race and coming to terms with the fact that it’s ultimately ok,” explains Kayps.
“Lyrically, it relates to how my peers interact with my culture, both negatively and positively. Growing up with a very culturally distanced upbringing and how that distanced the relationships I have with family and land, but also growing to gain a better understanding of what I need to do to reconnect, while showing an understanding of the political issues that plague my culture.
Coming to terms with all of this means carrying the title of ‘BUNUBA BABY’ is becoming more of a reality for me than just a creative character.”
Kayps has already received a glowing reception from across the music industry. In 2021, he was awarded the triple j Indigenous Initiative and was named a Top 5 Finalist in triple j Unearthed High for both 2021 and 2022. He was selected as the Western Australian representative for the Mushroom Creative x Coles First Nations Pathway Program in 2023, crowned as Good Intent’s Greater Good 2025 winner, before being signed by Briggs’ own Bad Apples Music.
Bringing his unique voice to global stages, Kayps showcased internationally at SXSW Sydney and SXSW Austin, Texas. His momentum continues forward with coveted support slots for international heavyweights Denzel Curry and Kneecap, highlighting a breakout era ahead.

DICE DROP NEW SINGLE ‘CALL ME FOR A GOOD TIME’
SECOND ALBUM, I THOUGHT THE ALTITUDE WOULD MAKE IT WORTH THE VIEW OUT 31 JULY
ALBUM TOUR ON SALE
With their second album I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View and a national tour close on the horizon, today DICE drop new single ‘Call Me For A Good Time’.
A moody, late-night indie anthem for fans of The Strokes, Foals, and Phoenix, the track leans heavily into DICE’s newly recalibrated, sophisticated DNA, trading their signature daytime energy for a haze of driving basslines and shimmering synth layers courtesy of multi-instrumentalist Jay Watson (POND, Tame Impala). It’s the atmospheric soundtrack to the blurred lines of an afterparty—capturing the exact moment where desire borders on addiction.
Says the band; “A track of desire, addiction and devotion. It’s got that late night feeling and was definitely written to serve its title. ‘Call Me for a Good Time’ is us stepping directly into the afterparty of our mid-20s. Having Jay Watson from POND jump on synths was incredible—he brought this amazing, swirling nocturnal texture that completely dialled in that head-spinning, hazy feeling when you’re caught between heaven or hell at 3 AM, lost in the noise, and just looking for a real connection to numb the surroundings.”
Set for release on 31 July, I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View also contains previously released singles ‘Loose Change’ and ‘COOLER’. For this album, DICE pivoted away from the grit of their debut album Midnight Zoo, toward a more expansive, blissful, lighter, euphoric world. The result is a 10-track album that is a windows down anthem for radical self-reflection and liberation, capturing a band finally flying at their own altitude.
The four-piece from Perth will be on an extensive national tour in support of the album. Starting in Adelaide in August, the tour then makes its way around the country, taking in both capital cities and regional stops, finishing up in the band’s hometown in September.
Comprising of Ben Hodge, Tom King, Regan Beazley, and Sam Barrett-Lennard, the Perth-based four-piece makes music for authentic connection. Following the 2024 release of their ARIA-charting debut album Midnight Zoo, the band rapidly grew from local indie favourites into a global touring act.
In 2025, they expanded their sonic palette with the WINGS EP and took their electrifying live show to larger stages across London, New York City, Toronto, Amsterdam and Sydney. At home, the band has maintained a place on triple j’s Most Played Artists list for three consecutive years with fan favourite songs including ‘Chasing Hearts’, ‘Alter Ego’, and ‘Hourglass’.

HOOLIGAN HEFS RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM SIXTH SENSE
Australian hip hop powerhouse Hooligan Hefs today releases his long-awaited sophomore album Sixth Sense – a bold and versatile nine-track project showcasing the evolution of one of the country’s most influential rap voices. Featuring collaborations with Wiley, Savage, Youngn Lipz and Day1, the album blends hard-hitting energy with introspective storytelling, capturing themes of ambition, instinct, growth and longevity.
Hefs shares, “everything on Sixth Sense came from trusting that inner voice and not overthinking it. I spent a lot of time locked in with Open Till L8 across the project, really shaping the sound and building something that feels true to where I’m at right now. The title Sixth Sense comes from where I’m from too – Doonside, the ‘67’ postcode – but it also reflects that instinct I’ve always had for music, trusting my gut and knowing what feels right. There were moments where I had to step outside my comfort zone, whether that was sonically or emotionally, and I think you can hear that growth across the whole project.”
Led by recent singles ‘Stuntn’, ‘Whistle’, ‘Sixth Sense’ and ‘6PM Somewhere’, the project sees Hefs expanding his sound while staying firmly connected to the raw authenticity and charisma that have defined his rise. Across the album, cinematic production, club-ready records and reflective moments sit side-by-side, highlighting both his versatility and artistic growth.
Hefs adds, “it’s not just high energy or one vibe, it’s a full range, from the turn-up records to the more introspective ones. Even linking with someone like Wiley on ‘6PM Somewhere’ shows that shift, taking it beyond just a local sound and pushing into something global. For me, this project is about evolution – trusting the process, trusting myself, and stepping up to a new level.”
Opening with the title track ‘Sixth Sense’, Hefs sets the tone for the record with a cinematic introduction exploring instinct, trust and stepping into a new chapter creatively and personally. Written as both a statement and dedication to Doonside, the track anchors the album’s identity from the outset.
Tracks like ‘HIM’ and ‘Stuntn’ lean into confidence, ambition and self-belief, delivering high-energy moments designed to connect instantly with crowds and translate powerfully in a live setting. Meanwhile, ‘eMotion’ offers a more vulnerable side of Hefs, unpacking the emotional highs and lows that come with personal growth and success.
Collaborations play a defining role across Sixth Sense. ‘Exclusive’ featuring Youngn Lipz delivers a polished, international-leaning anthem with infectious energy, while ‘6PM Somewhere’ featuring UK grime icon Wiley bridges Australian and UK rap culture through a laid-back, lifestyle-driven record packed with charisma and global appeal. Previously released single ‘Whistle’ featuring Savage pushes further into crossover territory, combining rap and dance influences into a festival-ready anthem built for clubs and live stages alike.
‘She Will’ sees Hefs team up with Day1, balancing melodic hooks with raw lyricism, before closing track ‘S.O.G’ brings the project full circle with a statement on resilience, perseverance and mindset under pressure. The track is about pushing through hardship, setbacks and pressure without letting those moments define you, serving as a reminder to stay solid, back yourself, and keep moving forward no matter what life throws your way.
Hailing from Doonside in Western Sydney, Hooligan Hefs has become one of the leading figures in Australian hip hop, amassing more than 500 million global streams and earning multiple platinum and gold certifications. From breakout tracks like ‘No Effect’ through to national hits including ‘SEND IT!’, Hefs has consistently delivered music that resonates across streaming platforms, festivals and clubs, cementing his place at the forefront of the culture.
Currently on his Year of the 6 Tour throughout 2026, Hefs continues to bring his electrifying live show to audiences nationwide, performing tracks from Sixth Sense alongside fan favourites from across his catalogue.

PJ HARVEY RETURNS WITH STRIKING NEW TRACK, ‘VOYAGER’
PJ Harvey returns three years after the release of her Grammy-nominated album, 2023’s I Inside the Old Year Dying, with a glimpse into her next artistic chapter. Her striking new track ‘Voyager‘ is out now via Partisan Records.
‘Voyager‘ had already been taking shape as part of Harvey’s next album when physicist Professor Brian Cox invited her to write a song for his ‘Emergence’ tour. Recorded with a full orchestra at Miraval Studios in Provence, ‘Voyager’ takes its name from the NASA probes launched in 1977 – containing Carl Sagan’s famed ‘Voyager Golden Record’ – still travelling through interstellar space nearly 50 years on. The music highlights the interplay between swelling string arrangements and pulsing synthesiser signals stretching out into the cosmos: icy, ethereal, and pensive, yet threaded with an unmistakable humanity. Across it, Harvey contemplates our small, fragile place in the universe; a ‘pale-blue dot’, a flake of snow, dust in a sunbeam, and finds in that vastness a quiet plea to choose light and to choose love.
Discussing the track, PJ Harvey shared: “I was excited for the challenge to compose a song in the ‘voice’ of Voyager 2. I have long been fascinated by the spacecraft and its journey, and asked myself what it might say to us if it could? This was an inspiring route to take to develop the song.
The song had already started life as part of the ongoing work towards my new album, so when Professor Brian Cox invited me to write a piece for his new show, I sent him the voice memo of this song to see if it resonated. It immediately made him think of the Voyager craft and the sound of its signal being sent back to Earth. With these ideas as my starting point, I let the song develop, and discussed an orchestral accompaniment with Dario Marianelli.
I’m very happy with the end result, and it’s wonderful to hear the orchestral score bring such expansiveness to my music. I thoroughly enjoyed researching the history and journey of Voyager 1 & 2, and was glad to be able to quote the great Carl Sagan within the song, and his famous description of our fragile and beautiful ‘pale blue dot’.”

KEB’ MO’ Releases New Single “Hand It Over” Featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir
New Album The Breakdown out August 21 via Concord Records
Today, 5x GRAMMY-winner Keb’ Mo’ has released “Hand It Over” featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir from his forthcoming album The Breakdown that will be released on August 21 via Concord Records. Originally appearing on his 1996 GRAMMY-winning album Just Like You, the reimagined version of “Hand It Over” was recorded at Flame Studios in Johannesburg, South Africa, which is housed in a former prison where Nelson Mandela was held during the Rivonia Trial.
Keb’ Mo’ – Hand It Over – feat. Soweto Gospel Choir (Official Audio) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8k3ioGvVTE
About the song, Keb’ Mo’ explains, “I’m excited to share my collaboration with the Soweto Gospel Choir. Recorded at Flame Studio in Johannesburg, South Africa. Once again, I’m makin’ my mama proud by performing her favorite song of mine. And thank you to the SGC for going on this journey with me!”
“Hand It Over” was recorded just months before his career nearly came to an abrupt end in 2024 when he began experiencing shortness of breath on tour and was admitted to the hospital for a life-saving open heart surgery. The 10-song collection was recorded at his home studio outside Nashville during a period of profound personal upheaval as he recovered from the surgery and also grappled with the dissolution of his nearly 20-year marriage. Stark and deeply honest, The Breakdown is Keb’ at his most revealing, coming to terms with the passage of time and the inevitability of change while still holding on firmly to the hope, faith, and love that have always guided him.
The new single follows the release of “Fussing and Fighting” that was released earlier this month alongside a live performance video.
“I had to go through some difficult experiences to get these songs,” he confesses, “but I learned a lot looking back on my life and my relationships and taking inventory of everything in a new light.” That newfound perspective is front and center on The Breakdown, which manages to turn pain and uncertainty into hope and resilience at every turn. “I’m turning 75 this year,” Keb’ reflects, “and I know I won’t be around forever. All you can do is make the most of what you’ve got and be grateful for every step of the journey.”
More than 50 years into a career marked by five GRAMMY wins, an Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award, performances everywhere from Carnegie Hall to The White House, and songs recorded by everyone from B.B. King to BTS, Keb’ Mo’ returns with his most stripped-down and intimate album to date. On The Breakdown, out August 21 via Concord Records, he does something he has never done before: strips back his recordings to just his guitar, voice and carefully selected vocal contributions from the Soweto Gospel Choir and the gospel sextet Take 6.
The 10-song collection was recorded at his home studio outside Nashville and written in the wake of life-saving open heart surgery, the end of his nearly 20-year marriage, and a period of profound personal upheaval. Stark and deeply honest, The Breakdown is Keb’ at his most revealing, grappling with the passage of time and the inevitability of change while still holding on firmly to the hope, faith, and love that have always guided him.
“It felt like everything in my life was breaking down,” Keb’ reflects. “My health, my relationship, my whole world. The only way I knew how to respond was to break the music down, too.”
While the album is deeply rooted in Keb’s personal story, the tunes also stand as broader commentary on the state of the world at large. Today, he released the album’s first single “Fussing and Fighting,” which could just as easily reflect a long-term relationship as a divided nation searching for common ground
The Breakdown:
01) Fussing and Fighting
02) Every Step of the Way
03) They Don’t Make ‘Em Like They Used To (feat. Take 6)
04) More Yesterdays
05) We Make Love
06) Walking on Water
07) Hand It Over (feat. Soweto Gospel Choir)
08) Living in the Moment
09) Stitched Up Heart
10) One Day Away

HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS, MELBOURNE’S NEW ‘COMPACT, TIGHT’ POWER POP GROUP AND THE BRAINCHILD OF AUSTRALIAN MUSIC PRIZE NOMINEE ROSS MCLENNAN, OF TWICE ARIA-NOMINATED ’90s TRIPLE J FAVES SNOUT, RELEASE SECOND SINGLE AND VIDEO “HERE THEY COME AGAIN” TODAY
HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS WILL TEAM UP WITH ROSS’S BROTHER LINK MEANIE’S NEW BAND BAGFUL OF BEEZ FOR DOUBLE SINGLE LAUNCH, THURS JULY 16 AT THE TOTE UPSTAIRS
Cheersquad Records & Tapes are proud to present “Here They Come Again”, the new single by Melbourne’s newest “compact, tight” power pop band Heir To The Squandered Millions, the new project for Ross McLennan, formerly of ’90s Australian power-pop outfit and Triple J faves Snout. The new single follows first single “Thin Aspiration”, and like its predecessor, it is taken from the band’s soon to be announced debut album. The band has announced a combined single launch with Ross’s brother Link McLennan’s new band Bagful of Beez (whose new single “Odd Couple” is out tomorrow) which will take over the upstairs at the Tote on Thursday July 16.
“Here they Come Again” is The Jam meets The Saints: a pop song driven by an infectious chorus of na na nas, drowning out the disorienting aphasia of shock jock discourse. A chorus that insists that sometimes silliness is survival.
Once again, Heir To The Squandered Millions meet their adversaries on a street corner and break dance them into submission. KaPow!

After leading Snout from 1991 to 2002, Ross undertook a side project, Meuscram, with his younger brother, Lindsay (a.k.a. Link Meanie of the Meanies), delivering a lo-fi self-titled album in 1995.
Subsequent to that, McLennan has issued four solo albums, Hits from the Brittle Building (February 2004), Sympathy for the New World (February 2008), The Night’s Deeds Are Vapour (2013) and All the Colours Print Can Manage (October 2017). Sympathy for the New World was short-listed for the Australian Music Prize for 2008.
Sez Ross of the new band:
“The live band is myself, Ewan McCartney (Snout, Ripe, Ten Gallon Head, Dan Brodie), Jane McCracken (The Foots, Cheeses, Trevor Ludlowe and the Hell Raisers), and Ben Mason (The Smallgoods).
“It’s been a while since I’ve made compact, tight power pop. While I was doing my other solo stuff I felt like I had this kind of guitar pop skill set that was going to waste… For better or worse, I feel like this stuff is my pure true self. Or at least a big part of me. I was raised by television (and funny parents).
“I found my previous solo outings kind of taxing to make. So I just wanted to have fun for a time. This record is a bit like the Monkees in my mind. A concept of a band rather than an actual band. Then there is the live band who are like the Wrecking Crew: lot’s of chin scratching “how do we make this work?”, and loads of fun. I love the people in the band.
Heir To The Squandered Millions sees McLennan return to the liberating limits of guitar pop. It’s great fun.
BROTHER LEE LOVE IS BACK!
ROSS McLENNAN’S DIY POP PROJECT HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS (WITH PALS JANE, EWAN AND BEN) TO TEAM UP WITH HIS BROTHER LINK MEANIE AND HIS DIY POP PROJECT BAGFUL OF BEEZ (NOW WITH PALS MEGHAN, MATT AND CHIP) FOR DOUBLE SINGLE LAUNCH IN JULY
Having released new singles (“Fever Dream” and “Thin Aspiration” respectively) days apart back in late March/April, Heir to the Squandered Millions and Bagful of Beez, respectively the current outfits for Ross McLennan (Snout) and brother Link McLennan (Meanies), have now announced a combined single launch for their new singles which will both be out June 25 and 26 respectively. The new singles are “Here They Come Again” (HTTSM) and “Odd Couple” (BoB).The two bands, together with guest Captain Beep-Boop (who plays “queer electronic punk music on a DIY modified Telstra ‘Bluephone’ payphone synthesiser”), will take over the upstairs at the Tote on Thursday July 16.
Not only does the night promise as much Brother Lee Love as a classic Kenny Everett Show episode, but it will also showcase two bands who could not be a better match. While Link and Ross first made names for themselves in the golden days of the ’90s indie scene, the two brothers share a love of pop, and have coincidently found themselves fronting retro-futuristic and peculiar but pop perfect outfits at the same time after having each started out trying to develop new solo projects.
Tickets for the show are strictly limited and on sale now.

THE WHITLAMS RETURN TO ROCK ISLAND OCTOBER 2026
Join The Whitlams as they embark on an old-fashioned East Coast Pub Run.
Return to Rock Island” takes the band back to their favourite rock rooms, where if only the walls could talk about the joyful two, three and four night residencies over the decades. Long sweaty nights at these pubs formed the bedrock of The Whitlams’ reputation as a memorable force in the Australian live scene.
What better way to mix things up after the elegance of the celebrated “Orchestral ’26” tour, with its eight symphony orchestras, 30,000 people, and concert halls across the country. Now it’s back to the pubs where the audience is standing up close.
Joining the bill for the whole tour is William Crighton with band, promoting his 4th studio album, Colonial Drift. The pioneer of Bush-Psych and a bold voice of Australian folk rock, Crighton weaves stories of land, spirit, and struggle with raw intensity.
The tour opens at two pubs where the band held Sunday afternoon residencies back in 1994 – The Brunswick Hotel just north of Byron Bay, and the Hoey Moey in Coffs Harbour.
From there multiple nights at The Triffid in Brisbane and The Corner Hotel in Melbourne, before a long-awaited return to Sydney’s Metro Theatre, the venue where the band filmed its live DVD performance in 2004.
The set list will tend towards the high energy side of the seven album repertoire – loud, and built for a crowd with nowhere to sit.
Tim Freedman is joined by stalwarts Terepai Richmond on drums and Jak Housden on guitar, with Ian Peres returning on bass and keys.
SHOW DATES:
Fri 2 Oct – Hotel Brunswick – Brunswick Heads, NSW
Sat 3 Oct – Hoey Moey – Coffs Harbour, NSW
Fri 9 Oct – Corner Hotel – Melbourne, VIC

ROB ZOMBIE Unleashes New Music Video For ‘Tarantula’
‘TARANTULA’ MUSIC VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTEwpGrigPw
Rock and metal icon ROB ZOMBIE has released the official music video for ‘Tarantula,’ another standout track from his latest studio album, The Great Satan, available now via Nuclear Blast Records. The video arrives as fans continue to celebrate Zombie’s acclaimed eighth solo album, which has earned widespread praise from critics and listeners alike.
A favorite among fans since the album’s release, ‘Tarantula’ now gets a fitting visual counterpart. Bathed in stark yellow light and shot with a gritty, stripped-down aesthetic, the performance-focused video captures Zombie and his band tearing through the track with relentless force and precision.
