DECLAN O’ROURKE unveils new single For Free from forthcoming album Oceanic due October 16th

Acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke returns with For Free, the second single to be released from his forthcoming eighth studio album Oceanic, due for release on the 16th October. Following lead single Echo, the new release is a love letter to family and a reflection on the importance of expressing that love while we still can.

Beginning as a song for his mother, O’Rourke says he soon realised “it rings true for everyone in my gang”, and that although the simplest words can be the hardest to say, it’s important to make the effort to show those you love how much you care.

“We all know the day will come, and we’ll lose the ones we love the most. Or maybe they’ll lose us! So you wanna make dead sure they each know exactly how you feel about them.”

For Free Official Music Video

The video to accompany For Free includes members of Declan’s own family, and was shot at locations between Dublin and Fremantle, Australia. Directed and edited by Wolff, the beautifully understated video captures everyday moments of family life, celebrating the joy found simply by being in one another’s company.

For Free is the second single to be released from Oceanic, recorded in Sydney with longtime friend and collaborator Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) as co-producer. The album marks a profound full-circle moment in O’Rourke’s life and career, returning to Australia, where he first began recording songs as a teenager, and reflects a life lived across two continents and hemispheres.

Speaking on the album, O’Rourke explains:

“Oceanic somehow wrote, and then made itself too.

I’ve always felt that being an artist is a process of stripping away layers of yourself to get to the core. If that’s true, then Oceanic is a collection of dreams that have surfaced on their own, from among the deepest of my own layers.”

For Free is available now on all streaming platforms https://sym.ffm.to/forfree

BIG BUSK More than 650 young musicians to perform, Taj Aldeeb & Freya Parr to MC Melbourne Youth Orchestras’ Big Busk 2026 at Queen Victoria Market

Saturday 19 September 2026
8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Queen Victoria Market, Naarm/Melbourne

The streets of the Queen Victoria Market will come alive with the sound of music on Saturday 19 September, when Melbourne Youth Orchestras (MYO) presents The Big Busk 2026, a vibrant celebration of Victoria’s young musical talent and a major fundraising event supporting the future of ensemble music education.

More than 650 young musicians will perform throughout the market from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with audiences able to enjoy performances across the main stage and multiple busking locations as they shop, dine and explore one of Naarm/Melbourne’s most iconic destinations.

Adding their voices and energy to the day will be Taj Aldeeb and Freya Parr, who will take on the role of MC’s for MYO’s Big Busk 2026.

Taj is a presenter with ABC Classic, a digital media graduate and voice-over artist currently studying Music Performance at Monash University, specialising in piano and percussion. She is also developing her skills in conducting and production assisting, alongside her passion for tango dancing. Motivated by her own journey, Taj tells stories that explore the challenges, triumphs and diverse experiences of migration through audio-visual artistic forms. She has collaborated with local and international artists across live performance, film, theatre, recording projects and installations.

Freya is a Melbourne/Naarm-based clarinettist and proud former member of Melbourne Youth Orchestras. She joined her first MYO Summer School in 2015 and participated in MYO programs for many years, culminating in three years with Flagship MYO from 2022–2024. Freya is currently completing an Honours Degree in Music Performance at the University of Melbourne, studying with David Thomas. She has performed with Orchestra Victoria, the Australian Youth Orchestra and university orchestras, and toured internationally with AYO in 2025. A passionate chamber musician, Freya performs with her trio, Ellipsis.

Taj and Freya will guide audiences through a full day of performances, celebrating the remarkable talent, diversity and creativity of MYO’s young musicians.

Throughout the day, 14 MYO ensembles will take to stages and busking locations around the Queen Victoria Market. Each ensemble will perform a 25-minute set, creating a constantly changing soundtrack for market visitors.

The 2026 line-up includes: Adaptive Music Bridging Program, Alexandra Cameron Strings, Flagship Melbourne Youth Orchestra, John Antill Youth Band, Melbourne Camerata Strings, Melbourne Youth Big Band, Melbourne Youth Chamber Strings, Melbourne Youth Concert Band, Melbourne Youth Jazz Orchestra, Melbourne Youth Junior Strings, Melbourne Youth Sinfonia, Melbourne Youth Strings, Melbourne Youth Wind Symphony, Percy Grainger Youth Orchestra.

From string orchestras and chamber ensembles to jazz, concert bands, wind ensembles and MYO’s flagship orchestra, The Big Busk 2026 will showcase the extraordinary breadth of young musical talent being nurtured across Victoria.

Following the success of the inaugural Big Busk in 2025, which raised $35,000, MYO has set a fundraising target of $50,000 for 2026.

Funds raised will support MYO’s Future Fund, a long-term initiative working towards the broader goal of ensuring young people across Victoria continue to have access to outstanding ensemble music education, performances and creative opportunities for generations to come.

The Big Busk is more than a fundraiser. It is a celebration of community, creativity and the transformative power of music education, bringing young musicians and the wider community together in one of Melbourne’s most vibrant public spaces.

The 2026 event also marks a significant expansion of the Big Busk movement.

Originally established by Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) and presented jointly with MYO in 2025, this year’s event will expand to include Queensland Youth Orchestra and Music for Canberra, creating an East Coast-wide celebration of youth music-making, with thousands of young musicians performing in cities and communities across Australia on the same day.

ELLA HOOPER SADDLES UP FOR WILD NEW CHAPTER WITH NEW SINGLE COWBOY MAN

Ella Hooper is saddling up for another glorious ride into her Americana era, unveiling new single Cowboy Man (out now), the fourth taste of her highly anticipated fourth solo album Overnight Success, due for release October 2.

A swooning, seductive slice of country-rock with a healthy dose of Ella’s trademark wit, Cowboy Man finds the Australian music icon leaning all the way into the dusty saloons, neon lights and romantic mythology of the American West. Equal parts flirtatious, cinematic and mischievous, it’s Ella Hooper at her most brazen, another sparkling glimpse into the richly textured world she has created across Overnight Success.

Where previous singles Growing Up Is Hard To Do, I Got Eyes (On You) and When The Shit Went Down have revealed different sides of Ella’s new musical chapter, Cowboy Man kicks open the saloon doors with a little more swagger.
“Cowboy Man is one of those songs that when it landed in my brain I laughed out loud. I’m having fun with and poking fun at the whole cowboy cowgirl country pop culture explosion, as I’m aware it is having quite the moment,” says Ella. “but as always there’s a kernel of truth to my silliness.. I have had some funny experiences on my several trips to Nashville where I headed to record this album, thinking surely I will find my dreamboat; ethical, self-made, preferably air sign, good-hearted, rugged-looking, old fashioned but thoroughly woke cowboy husband (..what?! I’m not asking for much!) ha, but sad to say, it hasn’t happened yet. I keep coming home empty-handed, still single, but with this great song in tow, so – it actually feels like I got the prize!”

Paired with an equally hilarious film clip, Ella explains, “This film clip was such a hoot to make! I had the idea that I could hold cowboy auditions and collaborated with Lizzie Bailey the director and Lauren Simpson as producer – who I met through a cameo role on ‘The Witchy Girls’ Ywhich is a hysterical show about teenage witches created by and starring Australian Drag Royalty, current winner of Ru Paul’s Drag Race Down Under, ‘Lazy Susan’ who I am a HUGE fan of! Lazy returned the cameo favour and joined in the madness of my cowboy auditions. We pulled together an amazing array of ‘cow people’, some of which are my real life buddies from Melbourne bands, some are drag superstars, some are incredible actors – some are crew member’s parents! It was a real group effort and a very funny, silly, so grateful-for-my-creative-community kinda day!”

The forthcoming album Overnight Success is a record built on contrast: intimate stories dressed in shimmering Americana, deep personal reflection sitting comfortably beside humour, swagger and songs that are fit for a Sunday arvo, and for the Saturday night dancefloor. Across its 11 tracks, Ella explores heartbreak, family, growing older, desire, resilience and the absurdity of being human – all through a distinctly Australiana-Americana lens and with her irreverent spirit firmly intact.

And if Overnight Success has a recurring philosophy, it might be that the glitter and the grit belong together.

“I’ve been itching to announce and release this album,” shares Ella, “trying to stay calm through delays, changes of team, a few one step forward two steps back moments; which I’m learning is just par for the course for an independent self-managed muso…but I’m just ecstatic that it’s coming into sharp focus now, and that in a mere month or so those who’ve been following along will get to explore all of ‘Overnight Success’, and hopefully so will a few new folks too”An undisputed icon in the Australian music scene, Ella Hooper’s acclaimed career has seen her tick off a #1 album, sold out tours, multiple award wins, Rolling Stone covers, radio and TV hosting, and hit singles along the way that helped shape and shift the course of Australian pop culture forever. Fronting Killing Heidi and catapulting into superstardom with their debut single Weir, the group would go on to take home four ARIA Awards for their 2000 debut full-length Reflector, while Ella herself went on to become the first-ever female, and youngest person, to receive APRA’s Songwriter of the Year Award in 2001.
Ultimately releasing three studio albums with Killing Heidi, Ella later branched out into an equally acclaimed solo career, seamlessly pivoting away from her heavier roots into synth folk, rock, country and Americana. Most recently, Ella released Small Town Temple in 2023, which showcased Ella’s love and proficiency for country and Americana, and also debuted at #1 on the Australian Country chart. Splitting her time between Nashville and Melbourne, with her upcoming album Overnight Success also calling Nashville home for much of its creation, Ella is now set to wow Australian crowds later this year, hitting the road for a special album launch tour this October.

“Playing live is my happy place and what I feel I do best,” shares Ella. “I’m a bit of a tried and tested road dog now, but to have my OWN album tour to create a world with, to really curate the evening, is the best version of touring to me.”

Entering a new chapter of her creative journey with the upcoming release of Overnight Success, Ella Hooper resoundingly cements her status as one of the most enduring and endearing artists of her era on album #4. And, as she explains, she has truly found her voice and her home in the Americana realm.

“I worked really hard on this record,” shares Ella, “took risks and fought for things, sent myself broke making it over multiple trips to Nashville, but also met some incredible talents along the way and I couldn’t be more confident and stoked with the end result. Worth every sleepless night and grey hair!”

“It definitely feels like a level up, in my writing especially,” Ella concludes. “I’m exploring my voice and my relationship to Americana, the sounds, the genre, it’s parameters. I’m not an easy act to pigeonhole; but God I feel like myself on this record!”
Cowboy Man is out now.
Overnight Success is set for release October 2.

A MESSAGE FROM JOEL HAVEA

Hi there, I’m sitting at Melbourne Airport, waiting to begin my 30+ hour, three-flight mission to Hamburg, as a result my decision to avoid the Middle East.

This does sounds pretty brutal…But when my mum’s side of the family immigrated to Australia in the 1950s, it took them six weeks by boat to get from Rotterdam to Adelaide. So I probably shouldn’t complain too much 🙂 I’m very excited for the tour, which starts this week. I’m literally going to be hitting the ground running.

In some ways, coming from the chaos of life with two young kids, it feels strange to be doing this again. It feels a little like visiting my old life for a brief moment. Like trying on an old suit that’s been crumpled up in the back of my wardrobe for the past few years But I have to say… this suit still feels pretty damn comfy!

Seven JHT shows, 2 solo shows. 2 weeks. +2500km
And hopefully plenty of familiar faces along the way.

Can’t wait to see some of you out there.

POWER. SEX. HONEY. FLESH. PRIMAL. EMILY WOLFE EMBRACES HER DESIRES ON BOLD NEW SINGLE

Austin Powerhouse Guitarist and Songwriter gets Unapologetically Honest About Desire on the Second Single from her Forthcoming Judge & Jury Records Album

Coming off her tour with Yungblud, Emily Wolfe returns with “Power,” a new single that continues her pursuit of rawness, honesty, and authenticity. The track marks Wolfe’s second single from her forthcoming new album due out this year through Judge & Jury Records.

“What do we all really want? If you strip everything away, what is it? Power. Sex. Honey. Flesh. Primal. The most fundamental human desires. I think everybody wants those things, they just don’t always say it out loud. That song is me saying it out loud.”  shares Wolfe.

It is a refreshingly unapologetic answer and an especially bold one coming from a woman in rock who has never been interested in playing it safe.

While desire is often softened, hidden, or wrapped in euphemism, Wolfe confronts it head-on. “Power” is about stripping away the expectations, shame, and self-censorship that can keep people from saying what they truly want. The result is a song that embraces desire as something primal, human, sensual, and powerful.

For Wolfe, the four words are more than a provocative hook. They represent the raw, fundamental urges that exist beneath everything else. The need to want. The need to feel. The need to possess power and to claim ownership over your own desires.

Emily Wolfe is an Austin-based singer, songwriter, and powerhouse guitarist who has spent 13+ years building a reputation as one of rock’s most self-sufficient forces. With millions of streams, major media recognition from The Wall Street Journal, MTV, Guitar Player, Paste, and American Songwriter, and a Spotify smash in “Atta Blues” surpassing 2 million streams, her reach continues to grow.

Beyond her original music, Wolfe continues to showcase why she’s regarded as one of rock’s most exciting modern guitarists. Recently, she joined Musora Studios for its popular Covers Challenge, where she arrived with no idea what she’d be playing. After first reimagining Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes” in her own style, Wolfe was given a surprise challenge: transform the song as if it had been written by one of her biggest influences, Black Sabbath. Building a vintage-inspired guitar tone from scratch, she teamed up with a brand-new rhythm section and turned the dreamy pop ballad into a riff-heavy performance worthy of Tony Iommi. The video has already surpassed 2.2 million views and over 163,000 likes, giving fans another look at the creativity and musicianship that continues to set Wolfe apart.

A proud Gibson partner with two signature guitar models to her name, Emily shares Epiphone signature status with Adam Jones of TOOL who personally invited her to open for TOOL after Jones became a fan of her work. Her latest single “Lips,” produced by Gavin Brown and featuring Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, is the first taste of her forthcoming album.

She has released three studio albums, toured internationally, and shared stages with TOOL, The Gaslight Anthem, YUNGBLUD, and more. This September she’ll be supporting Frank Turner on tour and his Lost Evenings IX festival, as well as The Toadies on another run in October.

KYLIE JANE USHERS IN SPRING WITH NEW SINGLE & VIDEO ‘SEASONS CHANGING’

Hunter Valley singer-songwriter Kylie Jane ushers in spring with her soaring country ballad ‘Seasons Changing’ – a powerful reflection on the different seasons of life, and the hope that comes from knowing even the hardest ones eventually pass.

Driven by Kylie’s huge vocal range and authentic country production, ‘Seasons Changing’ finds beauty in life’s uncertainty.

“Season’s Changing is about the different seasons we all move through in life and love,” she explains. “We’re constantly growing, changing and figuring things out, and sometimes life doesn’t go the way we planned. There are seasons where we’re falling apart, seasons where we’re putting the pieces back together, and seasons where we’re simply learning, growing and doing the best we can.”

Arriving on the first day of spring, the timing gives the track’s central metaphor a fitting real-world backdrop – a new season of growth and, for Kylie, the beginning of a new chapter in country music.

“For me, this song is about embracing those changes and remembering that the harder seasons don’t last forever. There’s always a new beginning around the corner, especially when you have someone beside you who feels like your solid ground through it all.”

‘Seasons Changing’ was written with rising singer-songwriter and producer, Jake Davey, though it wasn’t what the pair had planned to work on that day. Kylie had arrived at the studio to record an entirely different song before a conversation about the changes unfolding in both their lives sparked something new.

From there, the song took shape naturally, with Davey also producing the single and the pair leaning into a warm and uplifting sound that gives Kylie’s powerhouse vocal plenty of room to soar.

“Once we had the idea, the song came together really naturally. Jake just got the feeling and story behind it, and we wanted the production to feel warm, uplifting and real. I love that when I listen to it now, it takes me back to where we both were in our lives when we wrote it.”

The accompanying music video brings that sense of change home to the Hunter Valley. Filmed at Tyrrell’s Wines, the clip begins among the warmth and intimacy of the winery’s wine room before moving outside into the vineyard as the sun begins to fall. Golden light, open country and the transition from indoors to sunset provide a natural visual counterpart to the song’s themes of change.

“The video shoot was honestly just one of those days where everything went right. We had such a fun day creating, driving around chasing the perfect shots and racing the fading light to catch that last bit of sunset. Somehow, we absolutely smashed it out, with plenty of laughs in between and a few ‘quick, the light’s going!’ moments! There was no big drama or anything going wrong – it was actually the complete opposite. It was just us having fun, following the light and creating a little bit of magic as we went. I think that energy really comes through in the video, which makes me love it even more.”

For Kylie, ‘Seasons Changing’ also represents a continuation of her return to country music after a career that has moved freely between country, pop and soul.

First coming to wider attention through an appearance on The Voice in 2016, Kylie went on to release her debut album Black Swan and perform the Australian National Anthem at Newcastle’s inaugural Coates Hire 500 Supercars Championship. She has since shared stages with Pete Murray, Thirsty Merc and Alex Lloyd, while her country debut ‘Missing Piece’ earned high rotation on ABC Country during Australian Music Month.

Now firmly establishing her next chapter as an independent country artist, Kylie has amassed more than 250,000 global streams, with previous single ‘Saloon’ passing 40,000 streams and multiple releases appearing on the AMRAP charts.

The move towards country feels particularly natural for an artist whose life away from music is firmly rooted in it. Kylie now lives on a 20-acre property in the Hunter Valley, where horses are as much a part of her everyday life as songwriting. A keen rider, she competes in showjumping and eventing, while also running tiny-home accommodation on the property.

It’s a life that increasingly mirrors the music Kylie is making – grounded, personal and unmistakably country.

With ‘Seasons Changing’, Kylie Jane captures the uncertainty of not knowing exactly what comes next, while holding onto the simple reassurance at the heart of the song: seasons change, difficult moments pass, and there’s always the possibility of something new around the corner.

An Intimate Glimpse Into the Mastermind

The film explores his visionary approach to composition, the evolution of the band’s mythos, and the personal philosophy that has sustained NIGHTWISH at the forefront of the global metal scene for three decades and was directed by Ville Lipiäinen.

The band comments: “The whirlwind of 30 years is still scooping up building materials and curios: new interviews, documentaries, remixed songs from the ‘Islanders Arms’, photos and, are you ready? concert footage of the ‘Human :ll: Nature’ tour, shot in Holland and Finland.

This is Nightwish; The Greatest Years on Earth so far!”

THE SYSTEM IS ONLINE: FEAR FACTORY UNLEASHES MACHINE-DRIVEN NEW SINGLE ‘ROBOTICIST’

For more than three decades, industrial metal pioneers FEAR FACTORY have explored the friction between man and machine, tracing the rise of artificial intelligence and humanity’s loss of control over its own creations.

Today, the band launches a bold new era with ‘Roboticist.’ The latest single, which premiered on Sirius XM Liquid Metal, marks the recording debut of the band’s current line-up featuring vocalist Milo Silvestro, drummer Pete Webber, and bassist Tony Campos. Blending crushing mechanical aggression with a haunting, melodic hook, the track explores a dystopian reality where flesh fails and only consciousness endures.

Produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Damien Rainaud, the single arrives alongside a cinematic music video directed by Vincente Cordero and produced by Arion Csihar. System activated: the next chapter of FEAR FACTORY has officially begun.

FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares comments, “The future isn’t coming. It’s already here, ‘Roboticist’ is the next evolution of Fear Factory. Man, Machine and the war for what comes next. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the beginning of a new era of Fear Factory.”

Tough, harsh and full of energy, the band are delivering the high-impact sound ILLAN KAAPAN are known for, whilst sonically pushing boundaries, with the addition of traditional Sri Lankan thammattama drums.

The EP follows on from THE RISING TIDE / KEEPS ME ALIVE, a double single that was released earlier in the month. The singles served as the first taste from ILLAN KAAPAN’s EP, UNDENIABLE, out today on Reason and Rage Records and Life.Lair.Regret. Records. “Our new tracks THE RISING TIDE and KEEPS ME ALIVE are songs about two homes- one’s for Melbourne and one’s for Sri Lanka” explains vocalist Asela Marcelline.

Speaking on the deeply personal meaning of the two tracks, Asela Marcelline shares:

THE RISING TIDE was written about this weird, intense and intimate scene and what it means to be part of it. KEEPS ME ALIVE is very much about being an immigrant. Especially being Sri Lankan and brown. Being Lankan is such an important part of who we are. For me, to move somewhere after you’ve fully formed your life and personality without losing that sense of where you came from, despite how much the world tries to mute that part of you is everything. Being Sri Lankan and being an immigrant kept me alive, and it never kept me down.

From over-capacity DIY shows to church domes and living rooms, ILLAN KAAPAN take every opportunity they can to put on an explosive and unforgettable show.  With the help of Prad Sen, a Sri Lankan director, ILLAN KAAPAN have captured the energy of their high-powered live set, dropping visuals filmed directly from a recent all-ages Melbourne show.

The video moves straight from the stage to an after-set traditional meal- with the band feeding over seventy people with homemade Sri Lankan food. Vocalist Asela explains “I feel like I go into every show and walk out with a hundred stories and experiences – ranging from absolute joy to total hurt – from the Rising Tide of people in these rooms”.

You can watch the video for “THE RISING TIDE / KEEPS ME ALIVE” HERE

WATCH: “THE RISING TIDE / KEEPS ME ALIVE”

Following on from last year’s debut, The Demo, these tracks pave the way for ILLAN KAAPAN’s new chapter. The new 6-track EP features unmistakably sincere and raw lyrics, interrogating the idea of community and belonging. The cover features the artwork Cultural Death by Sri Lankan artist Thilini de Simon.

Off the back of support for Orthodox (US), the band will continue to champion DIY venues and all-ages shows, teaching a masterclass in controlled chaos. The Melbourne AA EP launch show is already SOLD OUT, but you can snag tickets to the Sydney show HERE and keep an eye on their socials for upcoming show announcements.

Balancing the raw integrity of hardcore with a modern take, the band are asserting their authority, proving to be both a vital and refreshing piece of the Australian hardcore scene. Asela states; “That is what this whole record is about lyrically – the undeniable power of being part of something.”

ILLAN KAAPAN is Asela Marcelline – vocals, George De Silva – guitar, Githmi Wettasinghe – guitar, Ko Regunathan – bass, and Prince Jayasundera – drums.

KSMBA Returns With Touch, An Intimate Exploration Of Desire, Vulnerability And Letting Go

KSMBA returns with Touch, a deeply personal new single exploring attraction, vulnerability and the fear of allowing yourself to be truly seen. The release arrives off the back of a rapid rise that has seen KSMBA emerge as one of Australia’s most compelling new voices in electronic music, with recognition from Mixmag, 10 Magazine Australia and triple j Unearthed, alongside performances at some of the country’s most respected festivals and clubs.

The Sydney born, Melbourne based producer, vocalist and DJ arrives with a track that captures the tension between wanting to move towards something that feels real and instinctively pulling away from it. Created with co producer Ross James, aka upsidedownhead, and co written by Mansionair’s Jack Froggatt, Touch combines atmospheric vocals, melodic intensity and KSMBA’s signature club focused production, finding its power in the space between desire and self protection.

“At its heart, the song is about meeting someone where there is an undeniable pull between you, while navigating the internal battle of not repeating old patterns, of allowing yourself to move towards something that feels beautiful and real, rather than retreating from it.
Over the last year, I’ve been thinking a lot about the desire to be seen. I think it’s something many artists are driven by. But the more I sit with that idea and interrogate it, the more I realise that the only thing more frightening than not being seen is allowing yourself to be truly seen.
I guess that’s what ‘Touch’ is really about. It isn’t just about attraction, or desire, but the vulnerability that comes with letting someone witness you completely.”

Touch follows a significant run of momentum for KSMBA, whose previous single Crashed Into You landed the cover of 10 Magazine Australia’s Music Issue in collaboration with Chanel, received a triple j first play on Home & Hosed and picked up more than 50 additional spins across triple j stations, Radio Monash, BBB FM and SYN FM. Their earlier single Release Me also delivered more than 350 radio spins, including a triple j first play on Drive, alongside further national triple j support and coverage across leading Australian music media.

The momentum has extended well beyond individual releases. KSMBA was recently named a Mixmag Artist to Watch for 2026, featured as a Mixmag ANZ cover artist, appeared on the cover of 10 Magazine Australia’s music issue and was selected as a triple j Unearthed Feature Artist. Their single Eyes was recognised among triple j Unearthed’s Top 50 Tracks of 2025, peaked at #39 on Spotify’s Australian Viral Chart and has now surpassed 370,000 streams across platforms.

A classically trained musician who graduated from London’s prestigious Royal College of Music, KSMBA spent more than 13 years in formal musical training before transitioning from classical saxophone into electronic music. That background continues to shape an instinctive approach to production that combines technical precision with emotional expression, creating music that can command a dancefloor while retaining a distinctly intimate core.

Since launching the KSMBA project in 2023, they have performed at Pitch Music & Arts, Beyond The Valley, Let Them Eat Cake, Mardi Gras, Party in the Paddock and A3 Festival, including a performance on the Resident Advisor stage at Pitch, while supporting international and local artists including Mall Grab, Effy, Kettama, Sim0ne and Nooriyah. Most recently, KSMBA also performed a DJ set alongside Tame Impala at the F1, further cementing their growing presence across Australia’s electronic music landscape.

KSMBA’s growing profile has now been recognised by Spin Artist Agency, joining the agency’s roster alongside some of the world’s respected electronic acts, including Ninajirachi. Rob Woo, Partner at Spin Artist Agency, says:

“It’s rare to find an artist with the distinct sonic identity and immersive world building that KSMBA possesses and creates; the music has a compelling depth that really resonated with us from the first listen. We’re so excited to welcome KSMBA to the roster and amplify that vision with new audiences over the coming years!”

The signing adds another significant milestone to KSMBA’s rapid ascent, with further collaborations in the works alongside Lucy Blomkamp, Motez, Lachlan Bostock of Mansionair, Ross James and Tentendo, as well as upcoming appearances at ADE 2026 and Mode 2026. KSMBA’s trajectory is showing no signs of slowing down.

ERICA PADILLA Turns Up The Heat With New Dance Pop Single “Wristwatch”

Pop disruptor Erica Padilla is back with her latest single “Wristwatch”, as she continues a rapid rise from reality TV breakout to one of Australia’s most compelling emerging pop artist’s. Produced by Liam McCluskey and co-written with Demi Louise, “Wristwatch” is a glossy, high energy dance pop track built around confidence, flirtation and unapologetic self expression, marking another step forward for an artist rapidly carving out her own space in global pop.

“Produced by Liam McCluskey and co-written with Demi Louise, Erica Padilla’s latest single Wristwatch is an infectious dance-pop anthem with a playful, hyper-feminine edge. Packed with cheeky lyrics, glossy production and an irresistible hook, it’s the soundtrack to feeling confident, magnetic and unapologetically yourself. Equal parts flirty and fun, Wristwatch is made for girls’ nights, dance floors and windows-down drives. It’s a bold, bouncy pop that’s impossible not to move to.”

“Wristwatch is about that feeling of being completely in your own power. It’s playful, cheeky and confident, and I wanted the song to feel like a moment where you stop overthinking and just have fun. It’s the kind of song I want people to put on when they’re getting ready with their friends, going out or just wanting to feel themselves.”

Erica’s momentum has been building across music, television and international performance. With more than 1.5 million social followers, including 1.3 million on TikTok, she has developed a global, performance driven audience, having previously been ranked the 7th most viewed artist in Australia on TikTok in 2022. Her profile accelerated further through Netflix’s global hit Building the Band, where she emerged as a standout finalist with Siren Society, mentored by Nicole Scherzinger and cosigned by Leigh Anne Pinnock.

Her solo debut “I LIKE IT”, produced by Xavier Dunn, established Erica as a high gloss dance pop artist with a distinctly performance led identity. The track earned a triple j first play, more than 220 spins across 55+ stations, commercial radio support from Hit Network, KIIS, CADA, TTT, ACE Network, K Rock and Coast FM, alongside retail rotation across Mecca, Glassons, Adore Beauty and Betty’s Burgers. The release also saw Erica backed by major Australian media including Vogue Australia, Rolling Stone AU and Refinery29, while her broader rise has generated international coverage from Billboard, Rolling Stone Philippines and USA Today.

Erica has continued to build her international profile through major live opportunities, recently performing a duet with Angeline Quinto on ABS CBN’s ASAP, one of the Philippines’ biggest television platforms, alongside some of the country’s leading artists. She has also performed for Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, further cementing her position as an artist with the scale, performance ability and ambition to move beyond the Australian market. In October, Erica will continue that international momentum with a confirmed performance at Music Matters Singapore.

With “Wristwatch” leading the next chapter, Erica Padilla is moving decisively into her solo era, bringing together infectious dance pop, choreography led performance and a distinctly modern approach to global pop. With further singles, major tour supports and a larger project planned across the remainder of the year, Erica Padilla is only getting started.

VIXENS OF FALL ANNOUNCE FORTHCOMING ALBUM ‘FOX HOLLOW’ AND SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘LAST TRAIN’

Australian country-rock trio Vixens of Fall are back with a blues-soaked new single ‘Last Train’, the latest taste of their forthcoming sophomore album Fox Hollow, set for release Friday 13 November 2026 and available for pre order now.

Following on from their 2023 debut album Magick in the Chaos, the 13-track Fox Hollow is much more than a collection of songs. It’s a town – one built on rebellion, redemption and the reckless pursuit of freedom, where 13 songs reveal 13 locations and 13 lessons through the stories of three unforgettable women: Faith, Hope and Charity, better known as The Trinity of Trouble.

Every backroad holds a secret, every saloon has a story, and every lesson comes at a price. Across the album, the trio move through heartbreak, chaos, friendship and freedom, with each song revealing another piece of Fox Hollow and the women who inhabit it. Musically, Fox Hollow lives somewhere between the dusty roads of country, the grit of rock ’n’ roll and the strange, sparkling world of whimsy. It’s wild and romantic, mischievous and melancholic; sometimes a little dangerous.

Vixens of Fall share, “We’ve been sitting on this secret for 2 years and in that time, we’ve had so much fun creating the world of Fox Hollow. What started from an idea of Fox Hollow County Jail for our single Mugshot, has developed into an entire concept album. For our second album, we wanted to create a curated experience. Through the various lenses of the characters of Fox Hollow, we want to thoughtfully inspire people to immerse themselves and ponder the messages and lessons that they need to learn.”

Arriving alongside the announcement is ‘Last Train’ (out today), a moody, bluesy and rocking slice of up-tempo country that finds the sisters trying to break free from something they know is bad for them – while confronting the uncomfortable possibility that part of them doesn’t really want to leave.

As the final song on Fox Hollow, ‘Last Train’ becomes the bookend to the album’s journey. The train offers a way out of town and a chance to finally break the cycle, but the tension between what the heart wants and what the head knows better keeps pulling its passengers back towards where they started.

“You know that feeling you get when you just can’t let go of something? Something you know is bad for you, but it feels… oh so good?” explain the Vixens. “Last Train is about trying to kick that bad habit, but you just can’t… and kind of don’t want to.”

The closing track fittingly wrestles with finality. “When writing Last Train, we wanted a way to close this chapter of “the book” – the Gospel, according to The Vixen(s). It is a symbol of overcoming obstacles of a hell loop of your own making. Hopefully, and finally, learning your lesson and breaking the cycle. Will that Last Train take a different route, or will the doors open back up at your first stop? However, remember, in the words of the Eagles “you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave”. Is your time in Fox Hollow really over, or are you just back at the beginning again?”

‘Last Train’ follows previous single ‘Midnight Cowgirls’, which hit #2 on both the AMRAP Community Radio National and Metro Airplay Charts, reached #16 on the Tasmanian Oz CMR Country Airplay Chart and #28 on the Country Songs Top 40 Australian Airplay Chart, while earning editorial support across Spotify and Apple Music and seeing the trio become the faces of Tree of Life’s ‘Midnight Cowgirls’ campaign.

With more than 1.7 million global streams, three ICMA wins for Most Popular/Best Duo or Band and a live résumé that includes CMC Rocks, Gympie Music Muster, Savannah in the Round and Groundwater Country Music Festival, Vixens of Fall have continued to build a world distinctly their own. Their mix of sister harmonies, country storytelling and rock ’n’ roll attitude has seen Scenestr describe the trio as “a dark ABBA”, while ABC Country praised their “high-energy, witchy western magic.”

In 2027, that world moves from record to stage as the trio unveil the first leg of their brand new show, ‘The Tales of Fox Hollow’, premiering at Moonshiners Honky Tonk during Tamworth Country Music Festival on Friday January 22, with more dates to be announced.

As the doors to Fox Hollow finally open, Vixens of Fall are inviting listeners to follow the road, listen closely and decide for themselves whether they’re ready to leave.

SARALYN SHARES DEBUT EP ‘GOLDLINE’ + FORTHCOMING SHOW DATES

Over the past two years, audiences have watched Saralyn’s star steadily rise. Now, with the release of her debut EP Goldline, the songbird delivers her most complete artistic statement yet – a deeply personal collection of songs that traces the moments, memories and milestones that have shaped both the woman and the songwriter.

Named after its emotional centrepiece and title track, Goldline is more than a collection of songs. It’s a record built from lived experience, with each track capturing a different chapter of Saralyn’s journey while remaining connected by a single thread: the resilience that emerges through loss, love and healing.

“At its core, Goldline is an EP about resilience, perseverance and finding purpose through life’s highs and lows,” explains the singer-songwriter. “Each song captures a different chapter of my story, from heartbreak and loss to freedom, love, healing and self-discovery. I wanted the EP to showcase not only my growth as a songwriter, but also the versatility of Country music and storytelling. While every song stands on its own, they’re all connected by a common thread, the belief that even in our hardest moments, there’s something pulling us forward. That’s what Goldline represents to me: strength, hope and the courage to keep going.”

Across its five tracks, Goldline moves effortlessly between spirited country anthems and deeply reflective storytelling. Opening with the resilience of ‘Cowgirl Blues’ and the liberating optimism of ‘Free as a Bird’, the EP celebrates choosing yourself, embracing change and finding freedom after heartbreak.

At its heart sits the title track, ‘Goldline’, before the record turns its attention to love from two contrasting perspectives – the uncertainty of ‘Jet Settin” and the quiet devotion of ‘Flowers & Guitars’. Together, the songs create a complete portrait of life’s highs, lows and everything in between.

Produced by Rhys Zacher at Spinlight Studio, with expressive guitar work from Adam Osmanovic (The Viper Creek Band), Goldline pairs classic country warmth with contemporary polish, allowing Saralyn’s unmistakable honey-dipped vocal to remain at the centre of every story.

“Goldline was one of those rare projects that felt special from the moment the songs started coming together. Rhys created a space where every track could become everything I’d hoped it would be, while Adam’s guitar work added so much emotion and character throughout the record. Listening back now, I can hear every chapter of the journey that inspired these songs. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created, and it feels like the truest representation of who I am as an artist.”

Since appearing on The Voice Australia in 2025 (team Ronan Keating), Saralyn has continued building momentum with more than 350,000 global streams, a #1 AMRAP Country, Blues & Roots Regional Chart single, performances at Gympie Music Muster and Deni Ute Muster, and recognition as Most Promising Future Star at the 2026 Tamworth Country Music Festival.

To celebrate the release, Saralyn will take Goldline on the road with the Goldline Tour, performing throughout regional and metropolitan Australia. Proudly supported by Sound NSW, the tour will bring the stories behind the EP to audiences in the places they were written to reach.

“I’m incredibly excited to be taking the Goldline EP on the road throughout Australia. These songs were written from some of the most defining moments of my life, and there’s something special about getting to share them face-to-face with audiences. The tour is a celebration of the EP, but it’s also a chance to connect with regional communities, tell stories, and bring people together through music. I’m so grateful to have the support of Sound NSW, whose funding has helped make this tour possible. I can’t wait to hit the road, meet new listeners, reconnect with familiar faces and share the Goldline journey one show at a time.”

Goldline is exactly what its title suggests – the thread that connects life’s defining moments. Woven together through five heartfelt songs, it marks not only the arrival of Saralyn’s debut EP, but the arrival of an artist finding her truest voice.

TEENS announce November East Coast tour, head to Brisbane for BIGSOUND

Tasmania’s beloved noisy post-punks TEENS continue to build on the momentum they’ve gained over the last two years with the announcement of a 12 date East Coast tour in support of their second album Negative Energy. The band’s trek kicks off with a hometown show at Hobart’s Altar Bar on the 24th of October and travels through Geelong, Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane and The Gold Coast on its way to Byron Bay, winding up on November 21st.

Following the release of their debut, self-titled album in 2024, and the quick turnaround to Negative Energy in 2025, playing non-stop live shows in between, TEENS quickly found themselves the subject of praise from all corners of the world. Their albums earned airplay in the US, UK, Europe, New Zealand, and of course extensive features on Australian community radio, including a coveted Soundscape placement on 3RRR and inclusion on the voting longlist for 4ZZZ’s Hot 100, as well as endorsements from Triple J’s Anika Luna, The Music, Rolling Stone Australia, It’s Psychedelic Baby magazine, Backseat Mafia and more.

Supported constantly and fervently by their loyal home state fanbase, the band has sold out first pressings of both albums, played almost every festival in Tasmania, found themselves tapped on the shoulder to support Foo Fighters at the Sydney date of their upcoming Australian tour, and been selected to showcase at BIGSOUND 2026. It was no surprise then to see The Music’s Bryget Chrisfield declare recently: “TEENS are clearly going places.”

Keen punters should keep an eye on the band’s social media to find out when tickets go on sale, but for those who can’t wait, TEENS will be showcasing at BIGSOUND in Meanjin/Brisbane during the first week of September, followed by a free, all ages show on the Gold Coast at Miami Marketta.

About TEENS
TEENS is a post-punk trio based in Nipaluna/Hobart (AUS). Together, Shawn Arnold, Alex Davern and Jono Tate create music that is abrasive, dynamic, and intensely captivating. TEENS’ volatile musings on despair and alienation blend grit, vulnerability, intricacy and rawness, with their deceptively chaotic exterior belying an expertly applied command of tension and energy.

With a live show that is equal parts disorienting and rejuvenating, TEENS have amassed a rabid following across their home state. Their visceral, careening performances have earned them spots at major Australian festivals including Dark Mofo, Mona Foma, Party In The Paddock and Falls Festival, and support slots for a roll call of lauded acts including DZ Deathrays, Crywank (UK), Hard-Ons, Peter Bibby and Polish Club.

The release of TEENS’ debut self-titled LP in 2024 was met with local and international acclaim, finding support from outlets such as Backseat Mafia, Tone Deaf, and It’s Psychedelic Baby, as well as extensive Australian Community Radio airplay, an enthusiastic champion in the form of KCRW’s Travis Holcombe, and spins across the UK, Europe and New Zealand.

Second album ‘Negative Energy’ arrived in September 2025 via No Sleep Records and Psychedelic Salad Records, garnering airplay on KEXP and coverage by Rolling Stone Australia, and selling out its first pressing. TEENS were listed as one of The Music’s Top Ten Moments of Weekend One of Dark Mofo 2026.

MEATSTOCK ANNOUNCES ITS BIGGEST LINEUP YET!

Meatstock, Australia’s biggest barbecue and music festival announces the full 2027 music lineup for Meatstock Gippsland (Lardner Park 5–6 March) and Meatstock Toowoomba (Toowoomba Showgrounds, 12–13 March), and it’s shaping up to be the loudest year on record.

TWO OF THE BIGGEST NAMES IN COUNTRY MUSIC RIGHT NOW
Heading up both events, direct from the USA, are Gavin Adcock and Nate Smith, two of the hottest and fastest-rising stars in country music today. Adcock has racked up over 1.5 billion global streams and just sent his album Own Worst Enemy to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 Country Chart, and he heads into 2027 fresh off supporting Morgan Wallen on the road. Smith’s breakout hit “World On Fire” spent 10 straight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, a feat only he and Morgan Wallen have managed, on top of a Platinum-certified debut single and over a billion career streams. Two of the biggest names in the game right now, and both will be on stage at Meatstock this March.

AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY ROYALTY AND THE NEXT GENERATION
Joining them is a home lineup mixing legends with the artists tipped to be running the genre next. Four-time ARIA Award winner and 36-time Golden Guitar recipient Lee Kernaghan, the most decorated hitmaker in Australian country music history, tops the Australian lineup at Toowoomba, while ARIA Hall of Famer Kasey Chambers, one of the true icons of Australian music, tops the Australian lineup at Gippsland.

Both events share a serious run of talent: Casey Barnes, fresh off writing and releasing “Made for This,” the official theme song for the Nine Network’s entire 2026 NRL season; Wade Forster, who sold out 15 of 17 shows on his last US run and took home the Toyota Star Maker award; plus Bella Mackenzie, Imogen Clark, Sarah Grace Buckley (stepping out with her first solo project after years fronting The Buckleys), Piper Butcher, Dear Tommie and Cholson, some of the sharpest voices, and no shortage of serious female talent, coming up through the Australian country and roots scene right now.

Gippsland also gets an exclusive set from The Smith & Western Jury, fresh off their debut album Hotel Texas, and Dingo, the guitarist behind Kasey Chambers’ own band stepping out under his own name. Toowoomba locks in exclusive sets from rising Hunter Valley talent Jimbo Stokes and high-energy performer The Lyrical.

NOT JUST A BIGGER LINEUP. A BIGGER EVERYTHING.
The bands are only half the story. Meatstock remains home to Australia’s biggest lineup of barbecue and pitmasters anywhere in the country, with international and local pitmasters cooking world class low and slow barbecue over live fire all weekend. Expect the Heat Beads BBQ Wars and Australian Butcher Wars in full swing, PBR Bull Riding delivering the toughest eight seconds in sport, the BBQ Expo, and a full weekend of family-friendly entertainment on top of the music. Grab the crew, bring the kids, and make a weekend of it with camping available on site at both events.

Secret Sounds have today announced that emerging London based singer/songwriter ARTHUR HILL is bringing his biggest headline tour yet, Arthway Round The World, to New Zealand and Australia in 2027.

Arthway Round The World Tour will see Arthur take his vibrant, witty brand of pop to stages across the UK, Ireland, North America, Australia, and New Zealand – a truly global statement spanning major cities across the five countries. Down under, the tour will kick off in Auckland on Friday 14 May at Auckland Town Hall, heading to Meow Nui in Wellington on Saturday 15 May and James Hay Theatre in Christchurch on Sunday 16 May. Arthur will then head to Australia, performing in Brisbane at Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday 18 May, Sydney at Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 19 May, Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Friday 21 May, The Gov in Adelaide on Sunday 23 May, and wrapping up at Astor Theatre in Perth on Tuesday 25 May. The tour gives Arthur a chance to reconnect with his Australian and Kiwi audiences for the first time since his Stella AusTour shows.

The tour follows on from Arthur’s biggest live moment up to this point – a headline show at Wembley Arena earlier this year. A major professional achievement, the performance saw Arthur become one of the first artists ever to achieve the feat prior to releasing a debut album. He marked the occasion through the release of ‘Careless Whisper (Live from Wembley Arena)’, his emotionally charged cover of George Michael’s classic, released following overwhelming fan demand. Last month, Arthur also took to the main stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, consolidating his reputation as a standout performer ahead of this expansive live endeavour.

Since emerging as a content creator – with over 1.7 million TikTok followers, 85.4M likes on the app, and 27.6M YouTube views – Arthur Hill has established himself as an artist in his own right. His two 2025 EPs, ‘Missed Again’ and ‘In The Middle of Somewhere’, introduced his distinctive blend of witty lyricism, infectious pop, and genuine emotional honesty, while his growing live presence has seen him progress from an emerging artist to a headline performer.

RACHAEL FAHIM RELEASES A BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘OUR FUNERAL’
PERFORMING AT SAVANNAH IN THE ROUND

LISTEN

LISTEN TO LP

Following an extraordinary 12 months that saw her release a chart-topping debut album, win an APRA Award, perform in Australian arenas and make a major impact in Nashville playing CMA Fest, Rachael Fahim returns with a new single ‘Our Funeral’ released on Island Records Australia.

The standalone single follows the Country-Pop artist’s acclaimed debut album Who You Are and the series of acoustic releases that continue to drop monthly.

‘Our Funeral’ continues the chapter for an artist whose momentum has accelerated dramatically across streaming, radio, touring and international markets. Rachael has built her music around raw, honest modern country-pop, with an undeniable ability to distil complex emotions into relatable lyrics and storytelling.

Speaking about ‘Our Funeral’ Rachael shares, “Writing this song I found humour thinking about how some relationships need to be put to rest forever! We broke up, got back together, broke up again, before realising the relationship was dead and I thought ‘how many times must we have our funeral’ before we let go and move on forever!”

Fahim has accumulated more than 20 million global streams across her catalogue, including more than 4 million streams for the album Who You Are. Released in May 2026, Who You Are made an immediate impact, debuting at #1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart and #1 on the Australian Country Albums Chart.

The album’s breakthrough title track also earned Rachael one of the Australian music industry’s most significant songwriting honours, the 2026 APRA Award for Most Performed Country Work. Presented in April, the award recognised the enduring success of Who You Are and marked another major milestone in Fahim’s career.

Her radio achievements have been equally significant. ‘Too Damn Hot’ reached #1 on the Australian Country Radio Chart. The result made Fahim the only Australian female artist to top the Australian Country Radio Chart during 2025, and one of only two Australian artists overall to reach the summit that year. ‘Who You Are’ peaked at #2 on the Australian Country Radio Chart, while ‘Good Luck’ and ‘Dance Around It’ both reached #1 on the CMT charts and entered the top five at Australian country radio.

Fahim’s momentum is now reaching far beyond country music. Her nomination for the 2026 ELLE Next Gen Award in the Music category becoming the first country artist to ever be nominated.  This broader cultural recognition follows a wave of critical acclaim for Fahim and her chart-topping debut album. The Music praised the “magic balance of personal & sticky” in her songwriting and tipped her as “our next great country pop export”; Rolling Stone AU/NZ named her “one of the hottest new names in country-pop”; and Holler Country declared 2026 “a landmark year for Fahim”.

Fahim’s chart and streaming success has been matched by a formidable live schedule. She began 2026 as a major presence at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, delivering a headline performance alongside appearances at FanZone and KIX LIVE IN THE PARK, as well as joining Shane Nicholson for a special guest appearance at his headline show.

In March, Fahim toured Australian arenas with US country superstar Jordan Davis and performed at the CountryTown Awards. By June, she was in Nashville performing at CMA Fest, appearing across two SOUNDS AUSTRALIA showcases and taking the stage at the MCA Nashville label showcase. Those appearances followed an extensive year of touring in 2025, during which Fahim played more than 56 shows across Australia as special guest to Pete Murray, supported Missy Higgins at A Night at the Barracks and performed at the Strummingbird Festival events across the Sunshine Coast, Newcastle and Perth.

Having now performed more than 1,000 live shows across her career, Rachael is now set to appear at Bell Beats, Cowra on Saturday October 3rd and Savannah In The Round on Sunday, October 11th.

With a #1 debut album, an APRA Award, multiple chart-topping singles and a growing presence in the country music scene, Fahim has begun writing her next album, while preparing for more live performances throughout the Summer Festival Season.

LEEA DELIVERS A SEDUCTIVE, GLAMOROUS POP RUSH WITH WARNING

Australian dark-pop powerhouse LeeA steps into her most commanding era yet with WARNING, a sleek, seductive new single built on confidence, attraction and unapologetic star power. Driven by a deep surge of bass, razor-sharp electronic production and an irresistible dancefloor pulse, WARNING gives LeeA’s magnetic vocal presence room to dominate. Instant hooks explode into a euphoric chorus, while rhythmic vocal bursts, shimmering synths and contemporary production flourishes keep the track moving with serious pop momentum.

Lyrically, WARNING flips the traditional pursuit narrative. LeeA isn’t chasing attention—she knows exactly what she brings to the table. Playing with flirtation, luxury imagery and the idea of giving someone fair warning before they become too attached, the track is pure maincharacter energy: glamorous, playful, powerful and knowingly irresistible. It arrives from an artist already commanding international attention. A top-four Black Swan Global K-pop finalist from almost 4,000 applicants and Eurovision Australia Decides performer, LeeA has accumulated more than 100 million social views, 600K+ TikTok followers and a #58 global iTunes chart placing. Written by Leea Nanos and Aydan Calafiore, WARNING was produced and mixed by Arad Kian and mastered by Sam Varghese. Dark, polished and dangerously addictive, WARNING sounds like LeeA levelling up

BAD WOLVES Honour Dolly Parton With Their Version Of “Jolene”
Band To Donate Proceeds From “Jolene” To Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Dolly “Loved” Bad Wolves’ Version Of ‘Jolene’ And Was Preparing To Add Her Vocals To The Track

Bad Wolves join millions of fans around the world in mourning the sudden passing of the one and only Dolly Parton, whose legacy has touched generations of artists and fans globally.

In a poignant turn of events, Bad Wolves were recently in discussions with Parton’s management team about a special collaboration. Just weeks ago, the band had recorded a version of the singer’s iconic hit “Jolene,” and Parton herself was planning to contribute her signature vocals to the recording.

Bad Wolves founder John Boecklin “Our singer is a big fan of Dolly and had posted a bunch of videos of her covering “Jolene”. So, we decided to make a Heavy Metal cover version for our next album. On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished demo to Dolly’s Manager Danny Nozell with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version. We heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly, and that Dolly loved our version, and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon. We then sent over the stems for Dolly’s studio engineers to work with. Like everyone, we were devastated of this week’s news of Dolly’s passing. We will honor Dolly’s incredible legacy by donating proceeds from ‘Jolene’ to the
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.”

According to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library they have given away over 300 million books to children around the world.

Founded by Dolly Parton in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is the flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation; a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring a love of reading in children around the world. The program provides free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to registered children from birth to age five, regardless of family income, mailing each book directly to the child’s home. Today, the program mails more than three million books to children each month.

Boecklin continued “With ‘Jolene’, we are proud to help deliver critical funding to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, we know that we can contribute to Dolly’s vision of giving access to books and improving literacy.”

In closing, Boecklin offered condolences on behalf of the band, “our thoughts are with Dolly’s extended family, manager Danny Nozell, and all of the many thousands of people she touched in her extraordinary life who are grieving her passing”.

AMON AMARTH Debut New “Eight Legs of Thunder”
New Album The Allfather Awakens
Coming October 2 via Metal Blade Records

AMON AMARTH return with “Eight Legs of Thunder,” a steamrolling new anthem inspired by Sleipnir, the legendary eight-legged steed of Oden. Driven by a galloping main riff and a powerful, sing-along chorus, the track charges headlong through Norse mythology while its accompanying video transports the tale into an unexpected new world: a gritty, modern American Western of cowboys, pickup trucks and open roads, with the mythical Sleipnir himself emerging in a surreal dream sequence.

Director Dariusz Szermanowicz enthuses, “With ‘Eight Legs Of Thunder’, together with the band, we wanted to break the traditional metal music video mold once again. We fused the raw, dusty vibe of a modern western with the epic, dark mythology of Oden’s eight-legged steed. It’s a high-octane, cinematic ride packed with cowboy tension, raw action, and a touch of dark humor. We didn’t just want to make a music video—we wanted to deliver a visual knockout.”

“Eight Legs of Thunder” is the final preview ahead of their forthcoming album The Allfather Awakens which sees its release October 2 via Metal Blade Records. The ten-song masterwork marks the beginning of a new world and further cements the legacy of the Swedish metal titan’s spectacularly memorable riffs and unflinching melodic aural power.

As with Amon Amarth’s previous records, Oden, the Norse “all father” who is a deity of war, wisdom, death, magic, and poetry, is the through-line in Amon Amarth’s lyrics and artwork. Once again, Oden is the band’s inspiration, but The Allfather Awakens is not a concept album, rather a collection of historically inspired epic tales of conflict and sacrifice for a greater good.

Listen to Eight Legs of Thunder here https://lnk.to/EightLegsOfThunder

Watch the video https://youtu.be/LrJjl6FlZ3c

“Eight Legs of Thunder” follows the release of Amon Amarth’s first-ever acoustic excursion “Upphaf” and epic tale of “Gjallarhorn”. Where the stripped-back “Upphaf” carried the solemnity of an oral history whispered under the shadow of the Allfather,  “Gjallarhorn” arrived as a furious Amon Amarth classic. To gain wisdom beyond mortal comprehension, Oden made the ultimate sacrifice — gouging out his own eye and casting it into the Well of Wisdom, Mímisbrunnr, in exchange for cosmic insight and foresight that would shape the fate of gods and men alike. Now, Amon Amarth bring that ancient reckoning to life and they are extending Oden’s offer to you. Those who received the eye know what must be done. Those who did not: seek it out. Sacrifice your sight. Gain your foresight.

Amon Amarth took a new songwriting approach for The Allfather Awakens. The album came to life across two recording sessions, months apart, at producer Jacob Hansen’s studio in Denmark. Amon Amarth began writing songs while touring, rather than waiting until they were off the road. The writing and recording process allowed the musicians to intensely focus on each track, resulting in an album where each song was treated as a single. Guitar-wise, Amon Amarth opted for a slightly less modern approach sonically, moving away from 5150 amps and back to Marshalls. The music was written before the lyrics, setting the tone for the words.

https://lnk.to/TheAllfatherAwakens

Over 30 years later, Amon Amarth remains a band of brothers, and that loyalty and unity allow for harmony and a united front that conquers both the stage and record. Frontman Johann Hegg’s powerfully rendered lyrics on The Allfather Awakens’ on “We Rule The Waves” sum up the band’s unrelenting intent. “From cradle until the grave / As long as the sun sets in the west / We rule the waves / Our restless hearts / Have brought us far / As far as Vinland’s shores / We’ve gone further / Than any man has ever gone before.”

From Amon Amarth’s 1992 formation in Tumba, Sweden, to the worldwide fame they’ve found in the ensuing years, their lyrical, live and recorded musical legacy speaks for itself. Over the past few years the band have performed globally and alongside legendary acts such as Slayer, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Pantera in addition to monumental takeovers of Los Angeles’ The Forum and Denver’s historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre to name a few. Across seas, Amon Amarth have headlined multiple major rock and metal fests including an epic performance at Germany’s Wacken in 2024 for 85,000. Elsewhere on UK/European soil, the Viking lords have twice headlined the UK’s storied Bloodstock festival, made four appearances at Download (2008 – 2019), and performed at Summer Breeze eight times (2003 – 2024) – six of them as headliner.

Their rapidly increasing sales and touring numbers, plus pre-release buzz to Amon Amarth’s 2026 North American tour with Dethklok and Castle Rat, has managed to garner mainstream success without sacrificing either of their constantly evolving creativity or heaviness. Audience demographics run the gamut from pre-teens to 60-somethings, an inclusive metal experience for those who appreciate epic positivity and powerfully inspirational lyrics.

Their cultural influence cannot be overstated. To wit: The Row. The consensus is that the legendary “Viking row” by audience members first began during the 2009 Amon Amarth set at Bloodstock. Fans get on the ground and, in unison, imitate rowing an invisible longship in a powerfully unifying experience. With the 2022 release of the single and video “Put Your Back into the Oar,” Hegg said, “we thought it was a good idea to write a song about The Row! This one is for you, the fans, wherever you are–and may Oden guide you as you row to your destiny in uncharted seas!”

Over the years the phenomenon has spread to other artist’s’ concerts and global events including 2026 World Cup audiences – but thanks to video footage, it’s safe to say Amon Amarth audiences began the now-iconic trend. Last month, Hegg spoke to Norway’s public broadcaster NRK about the The Row’s origin, read the interview here.

The Allfather Awakens is yet another step up, introducing previously untried efforts, an impressive and conscious musical and lyrical feat after three decades of band-dom. This autumn, The Allfather Awakens will take physical form on stage as the band unveils an entirely new production inspired by Oden’s legendary Golden Hall, transforming their iconic concert experience into a living extension of the new album.

Destroy All Lines & Last Ride Records Presents  DRAIN
Californian Hardcore Party Starters Return To Australia In February

Anyone who caught the Santa Cruz wrecking crew at New Bloom Fest in 2025 already knows exactly what happens when DRAIN walk onto stage.

Stage dives, flying bodies, gang vocals – absolute chaos.

That chaos comes to Australia next February, when DRAIN return, armed with their latest album, 2025’s, …IS YOUR FRIEND

DRAIN have built their reputation by turning hardcore shows into something more akin to a communal celebration. The barrier between band and audience melts and everyone in the room becomes part of the show.

Formed in 2014 DRAIN came from a scene they effectively had to build themselves. Frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro began booking shows at a Santa Cruz coffee shop, helping build a local hardcore community from the ground up. That DIY mentality never left, resulting in a decade-long journey that has taken them to some of the biggest stages in the world.

Their 2020 debut California Cursed arrived just as the world shut down, but when live music returned, DRAIN exploded straight out of the gate and by 2022 they were headlining the opening night of Sound and Fury in front of 6000 people. What had begun as a bunch of friends making noise in NorCal rapidly became one of the era’s defining hardcore bands.

2023’s Living Proof went further, combining hardcore with the punk and thrash that has always lurked beneath the surface and extending their appeal across generations to those raised on the original collision of hardcore and thrash.

Old school meets new school.
Good, friendly violent fun.

DRAIN have blazed through hundreds of shows around the world, headlining festivals, touring alongside hardcore heavyweights and taking their chaos far beyond the confines of the DIY scene, including arena tours with Blink-182.

But they’ve never really been about the career milestones, they’re about what happens when the show kicks off. The electricity coming off the stage and the room screaming back every word while bodies fly through the air.

It’s something Australian audiences have seen first hand with prior Drain visit and will experience again this February.

Because for all the stagedives, moshpits, riffs and glorious chaos, the ethos behind DRAIN has always been simple. Everyone’s invited.

ENTHEOS Presents “Undone” Single

Empty On The Inside Full-Length To See Release October 23 via Metal Blade Records

“Undone” is the latest single from alternative metallers ENTHEOS. The track comes by way of the band’s impending new studio offering, Empty On The Inside, set for release on October 23rd via Metal Blade Records. Serving as the definitive centerpiece of the record, the song effortlessly channels the untamed, emotional energy that characterizes the album as a whole.

Comments vocalist Chaney Crabb, “‘Undone is a dark, visceral song that’s about the confrontation of the guilt that you’ve become the person you always feared you’d be. It’s the grief of realizing that you cannot turn back time and change the things you’ve destroyed. Lyrically, it’s incredibly raw and we feel that musically, it matches the lyrical content perfectly.

“We’ve wanted to experiment with more of an industrial sound for a long time and writing this song came incredibly naturally to us. Though it may be one that surprises people who listen to our band, it’s one of the most ‘true to ourselves’ songs we’ve ever written. We can’t wait to expand even more in this sonic territory.”

Watch the band’s previously released video for “Golden Crown” HERE

Empty On The Inside is the most ambitious and fully realized album of ENTHEOS‘ career. Featuring vocalist Chaney Crabb (voice actress for Jill Valentine in Dead By Daylight) and multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis (ex-Animals As Leaders, Animosity), alongside guitarists Scott Carstairs (Fallujah) and Michael Stancel (Allegaeon), the record captures the band at their most collaborative and creatively unified.

While earlier material often highlighted the technical brilliance of Crabb and Koperweis, this time all musicians came together as a true unit during the writing and recording process. The result is a more cohesive, focused, and dynamic album, one that still delivers the jaw-dropping musicianship, intricate performances, and progressive intensity the band is known for, while also embracing tighter songwriting, stronger hooks, and a deeper melodic presence. It’s ENTHEOS at their most refined, balancing technical mastery with memorable songwriting in a way the band never has before.

The band notes, “The album is about losing yourself in darkness, confronting that hopelessness and wondering if there’s any way back to being the person you used to be.”

Empty On The Inside was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Fallujah, Whitechapel) and mastered by Justin Sturtz at Sterling Sound. The album’s striking visual artwork was created by Zac Shiffer (Nine Inch Nails, Behemoth, Soundgarden).

KAMELOT Unveil Epic Final Single From Forthcoming New Album Dark Asylum
New Album Dark Asylum Album Out Now!

Legendary symphonic metal unit KAMELOT unveil the final single from their forthcoming epic album Dark Asylum, out this Friday via Napalm Records. “Sanctuary” is built upon pulsating riffs and cinematic swells. Iconic frontman Tommy Karevik is joined by labelmates and upcoming tour partners Visions of Atlantis’s Clémentine Delauney and Decessus frontwoman and current Miss World Chile Ignacia Fernández for an exhilaratingly dynamic vocal trio. With all of its bombast and bravado, “Sanctuary” sees the band firmly planting their feet before leaping into their triumphant, intercontinental victory lap.

Guitarist and founding member Thomas Youngblood on “Sanctuary”:

“’Sanctuary’ represents the moment when the darkness of RavenHill is finally left behind. The song is about hope, freedom and finding your way back to yourself after everything you’ve endured. The video takes the story beyond the walls of RavenHill and gives us a glimpse of life after the escape, a new beginning, but one still shaped by the memories and scars of the past. With Tommy, Clémentine and Ignacia bringing three distinct voices to the song, it gives ‘Sanctuary’ an emotional depth that perfectly reflects the journey from darkness into light.”

This Friday, alongside the album’s release, the band kicks off their extensive Dark Asylum World Tour in Orlando, FL, bringing audiences throughout into the spirit breaking halls of RavenHill Asylum cities like in New York, NY, Seattle, WA, and Dallas, TX for North America, and Tilburg, NL at Kamfest, London, UK, Warsaw, PL, and Barcelona, ES across the pond. This is a spectacle that should not be missed.

Set within a shadowed Neo Victorian-era world, Dark Asylum invites listeners beyond the gates of RavenHill Asylum—an imposing institution once built as a grand cathedral, now repurposed into a place where science, faith, and madness uneasily coexist.

KAMELOT pushes further into cinematic and atmospheric territory on Dark Asylum, diving deeper into theatrical darkness while preserving the signature hooks that define their sound. Candlelight trembles along towering arches and cold stone corridors as you are greeted familiar spectres: Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie’s Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis’s Clémentine Delauney, Decessus frontwoman and current reigning Miss World Chile champion Ignacia Fernández, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir and Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King! Identity fractures, reality bends, and control slips into unseen hands, guiding its central figure through a descent into psychological darkness that ultimately leads toward transformation… and perhaps sanctuary. From the cinematic sweep of “Ashen World” to the introspective depth of “Sanctuary”, and the layered mystique of “Ivy, My Dear”, Dark Asylum unfolds as a fully immersive journey, blending orchestral grandeur, haunting melodies, and theatrical storytelling into one cohesive vision.

Will you find sanctuary?
Or will you wander its halls for eternity?

Deepening the immersion of RavenHill, Dark Asylum will be released on a plethora of exciting platforms including standard gold, solid silver, and classic black vinyl editions, certified vinyl with the white label, white splatter, and blood filled variants, the latter of which are each paired with an official 24 page booklet! Multiple CD digipak available, with the 2 disc version including an instrumental version of the album, alongside cassette and digital options!

Today, dread rock superstar WEDNESDAY 13 gives us another glimpse into his forthcoming incendiary live album, Un-Alive from Pol’and’Rock 2025 out September 25, 2026 via Napalm Records. The Duke of Spook, hot off the 2025 smash hit album Mid Death Crisis took the stage in front of over 700,000 adoring festival goers at that year’s Pol’and’Rock festival in Poland, and today shares the truly incendiary rendition of that albums smash hit single, “In Misery”.

WEDNESDAY comments: “The new album really connected with the fans and the new songs seemed like instant classics with them. The track ‘In Misery’ in particular has become a live staple in our show over the last year and really stood out from the others. BRYMIR Finnish Melodic Death Metallers Share Grim Second Single, “Tempestbound”

New Album, What We Leave Behind, Releases October 2, 2026 Via Napalm Record

Finnish melodic death metallers BRYMIR unleash the second track from their upcoming album, What We Leave Behind, coming October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records! “Tempestbound” surges forward with speedy riffs and a wuthering message. The new single wraps the overarching theme of the band’s darkest album to date in a cloak of mythology. No matter the belief system, the Gods are all the same—and none of them is worth dying for at the hands of moribund mankind. Constituting war as the death or progress, “Tempestbound” solidifies BRYMIR’s epic plea for humanity.

BRYMIR about “Tempestbound”:

“Speed and insanity! Mankind is supposed to be starbound, yet here we are fighting over the same old stupid stuff. Our progress has been immense, technological marvels created, yet we mostly seem to use these to just destroy each other and ourselves—just faster and more completely. Instead of reaching the stars, instead of being starbound, we remain ‘Tempestbound.’”

Helsinki-based BRYMIR make a strong case for melodic death metal with What We Leave Behind, coming October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records! In a darkening world full of existential dread, the Finnish band—singer Viktor Storm Gullichsen, guitarist Joona Björkroth, bassist Jarkko Niemi, and drummer Patrik Fält—takes a stand with their most sinister album yet. Again heavily influenced by their singer’s main job as a movie sound designer, BRYMIR create vast cinematic soundscapes around their sometimes bleak, sometimes hopeful, but always honest messages.

Strongly tied to current societal developments, BRYMIR deliver an equally raw and fantastical album. Their darkest output yet, the band’s fifth album hits especially hard—and leaves absolutely no open questions behind. As introspective as it is outspoken, What We Leave Behind is an epic plea for humanity.

BRYMIR about What We Leave Behind: “Since our previous album, the world certainly hasn’t gotten any lighter—and as art reflects life, our fifth album, What We Leave Behind, is the darkest creation we’ve made so far. Both musically as well as thematically… ‘What We Leave Behind?’ is the core question explored from many perspectives: from personal hopes, dreams, and fears to societal developments to dark sci-fi and existential despair. Join us on this dark emotional journey, at times violent, at times beautiful, and always honest in baring the soul of what is BRYMIR – no compromise, everything raw and real.”

The atmospheric instrumental intro, “Slaying Star”, moves right into its faster counterpart, “Sleipnir”, opening up the album with the speed and fury of the eight-hooved horse companion to Allfather Odin it is named after. Keyboards and choirs carry BRYMIR’s epic death metal to new heights. Following “Tempestbound” shifts the focus to speedy guitar work while unveiling the overarching theme of What We Leave Behind. Wrapped in the cloak of mythology, BRYMIR deliver a message clearly translatable into our society: No matter the belief system, the Gods are all the same—and none of them is worth dying for at the hands of moribund mankind. The keys-driven title track, “What We Leave Behind”, hammers in the pacifist message: “Midgard lies in flames”, the four-piece exclaims regretfully about the realm of people, the reason following right behind in the ever-so-catchy chorus, whose calmness serves as a stark contrast to the high-speed verses: “Vanity paves the road to Hel”, the meaning of which is clear even without knowledge of the Edda. “True Darkness” moves down a gloomier path, taking a particularly creative approach to BRYMIR’s signature orchestral sound: following the stages of grief, it offers its chorus only in melody to keep up with the progression of the lyrics. After dismal passages, it closes with hopeful clean vocals and a bittersweet spoken word outro—truly cinematic. Aptly named instrumental breather “Moment Of Silence” beautifully prepares for “Buried Legion”, a contrastingly sweeping song powered by choirs that paint a martial image. Inspired by German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, “Thy Self The Highest Love” serves as a liturgical prelude to “The Roaring King”, in which BRYMIR turn down the speed while losing none of their vigor. The lengthy epic “Broken Dawn” picks up right where the preceding track left off: a waltz, this track closes the album majestically, showcasing the band’s knack for film-like build-ups. For everyone wanting to end on a lighter note, the band adds an out-of-the-box bonus cover to What We Leave Behind. Scooter’s eurodance classic “How Much Is The Fish” is reworked into a rousing melodeath track—an additional nod to BRYMIR’s stance against ocean pollution, “Herald of Aegir”, from the previous album, Voices In The Sky (2022), live performances of which regularly see salmon plushies in the audience.

FREYA & TOM McGOWAN ‘SPARROWS’ (SINGLE)

Sixteen year old Freya and her dad Tom write evocative songs that trace a line along the border of winter and spring.

The pair have spent most weekends for the last five years performing live, including appearances at Maldon Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Cresfest and Newstead Live.

Their debut album ‘The tide, the sea, the sky’ will be released in early 2027 and is carried by a warm and rich voice that sits above a tapestry of acoustic guitar, banjo, bass, piano and mandolin.

Written at home, on holidays and at gigs, the songs are like a living diary and true to their daughter/dad relationship, reflecting both the joy and quiet melancholy that time and change can bring.

MARLON SHARES SILKY NEW SINGLE + VIDEO PSYCHO

A glossy dive through vulnerability and silky R&B, the new single and video Psycho out now from Darwin-hailing singer-songwriter Marlon, aka Marlon Motlop, sonically expands on his earlier 2026 debut track Blood in the Water with poise and immersive self-reflection.

Opening with a prowling, jagged bassline, Psycho quickly evolves into a track bustling with effortless grooves, moody dark hues and bouncy beats, helmed by Marlon’s silken vocals that ultimately detail self-reflection and the journey that begins long after awareness sparks. “Psycho is an unflinching reflection on the parts of ourselves we often try to hide,” shares Marlon. “It explores how unchecked emotion can quietly take control, shaping our actions, damaging the people we love, and forcing those closest to us to adapt to our unpredictability. The song isn’t about persecuting others; it’s about confronting the uncomfortable truth that our own pain, anger, fear, and insecurity can become patterns that leave lasting marks on the people around us.”

“At its core, Psycho is the conversation I never wanted to have with myself,” Marlon adds. “It’s about recognising the traits I dislike most within me, acknowledging the hurt they can cause, and sitting with the weight of that reality instead of running from it. It’s a reminder that self-awareness isn’t always comfortable, but it’s the first step towards breaking cycles and choosing who we want to become.”

Working with Melbourne producer R.F.P to bring Psycho sonically to life, Marlon also joined forces with videographer Richie Coburn for the single’s accompanying music video, co-producing and co-directing the clip with Richie after also working with him on the Hilltop Hoods video The Gift, as well as on Marlon’s earlier 2026 debut single and music video Blood in the Water.

“There’s a cool video dropping which has been fun to create and storyboard,” shares Marlon of the music video for Psycho. “Building off the Blood in the Water Video (Release earlier this year) we’ve created some visual grabs that embody the genesis and theme of the song.”

A driven, authentic and deep-thinking creative, Marlon’s upbringing in the tropics of Larrakia in Darwin would soon lead to a professional AFL career before pivoting into more creative pursuits. A talented singer-songwriter with a knack for infectious hooks and fluency across hip hop, R&B and soul with a modern lens, Marlon has gone on to co-write songs with a horde of icons across the hip hop genre, while also passionately flying the flag for his musical influences, along with stories of his cultural history and identity. Previously teaming up with the likes of Urthboy, A.B. Original and Birdz & Frank Leone across various releases, Marlon has also released singles as part of a collab project with Rulla, showcased on the 2025 Hilltop Hoods single The Gift, and also featured as a special guest on stage during some unforgettable Hilltop Hoods shows earlier this year.

Through his socially-conscious lyricism, which expands to unwavering relatable honesty with his latest single Psycho, Marlon’s rare and engaging artistry has also seen him share stages with Midnight Oil, Xavier Rudd and Pete Murray, along with scene-stealing appearances at the likes of WOMADelaide, Dark Mofo, Bass in the Grass, Spin Off Festival and Party In The Paddock. And with his talents extending far beyond the stage and studio, previously drafted to the AFL at the age of 17, and ticking off a successful career playing both at the AFL level and in state leagues, Marlon’s early passion for music has since resulted in him working towards his, as yet unannounced, debut album; and Psycho unfurls another hypnotic piece of the puzzle as to what may lie in wait on Marlon’s hotly-anticipated debut album.

Introducing his solo endeavours with gusto earlier this year via the powerful single Blood in the Water, Marlon continues his quest for captivating but authentic art with his brand new single Psycho. “This single feels like my most vulnerable release yet,” Marlon reveals. “It is a deeply honest reflection of parts within my myself that I am most ashamed of.”

“I feel there is a certain part of me that invests in creating honest and authentic music,” Marlon concludes, “and a level of accountability that holds me in a position where I must share the ‘good’, and more importantly, the ‘not so good’.”

Psycho is out today.

BEARTOOTH PURE ECSTASY OUT TODAY VIA FEARLESS RECORDS

RELEASE VIDEO FOR BEAUTIFUL AGAIN

TOURING AUSTRALIA NATIONALLY IN JANUARY 2027

Beartooth have today released their new album Pure Ecstasy via Fearless Records. The record, their first full-length for the label, finds the band operating at full force, channeling the intensity that has defined their career into one of their most immediate and expansive releases yet. Written, recorded, and largely produced by frontman Caleb Shomo, Pure Ecstasy pushes the band’s sound further, balancing massive hooks and crushing heaviness with some of their most personal songwriting to date. Select collaborations with Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Halsey, Good Charlotte) helped bring a new dimension to the album.

Along with the release, the band will share a video for Beautiful Again, premiering at 1:00am AEST on Saturday 29 August. Of the song Shomo says “it perfectly depicts the duality of my headspace while writing the album. Pure joy and pure despair, nothing in between.”

Beartooth will be supporting Pure Ecstasy with the massive “Pure Ecstasy World Tour” that kicks off September 17 in Europe. The North American leg begins on November 11. The tour will make it’s way to Australia in January 2027 with special guests Fit For A King and Volumes.

“the crushing title track (is) a whiplash-inducing opener” – SPIN

“It’s got the most killer riffs, some crazy breakdowns, and there’s this line in the bridge, where vocalist Caleb Schomo screams: ‘I’m not the battle, I’m the f**king war!’ That is gonna go so hard in a pit full of metalheads, and I dare anyone to write a better callout this year.”
VICE on Pure Ecstasy

“(‘Pure Ecstasy’ is) full of big-time chugs and earworm heaviness” – Revolver

“Pure Ecstasy careens between raw aggression and Y2K pop nous, influenced by early Metallica, ‘peak’ era Prince and Max Martin-penned pop anthems of N*Sync and The Backstreet Boys” – Our Culture

“(‘Sorry’) has the hard-hitting elements you’d expect from the band — pit-worthy riffs and breakdown plus an infectious, power-filled chorus — combined with some fresh new ingredients keeping the listener on their toes.” – The Noise

“The new album is awesome” – Jesea Lee

“While Pure Ecstasy highlights Beartooth’s undeniable talent for pop songwriting, it still pushes their heaviness in new directions and never loses its roots” – PopMatters

“Beartooth sounds on the cusp of a sonic breakthrough.” – Glide Magazine

“there are still very few modern rock bands that do it better.” – KNAC

Beartooth has become one of the most vibrant, and visceral forces in modern rock. Over the last decade, the Columbus, Ohio band led by Caleb Shomo has built a massive following by fusing hardcore intensity, arena-sized hooks, and unflinching emotional honesty into songs that resonate far beyond the boundaries of heavy music. In an era where a new generation of heavy bands increasingly dominates streaming services, TikTok, and legendary venues like Madison Square Garden, Beartooth have emerged as one of the movement’s defining acts – standing alongside Bring Me The Horizon, Pierce The Veil, and Bad Omens as the new leaders of the collision between heavy rock and melody.

Following the chart-dominating success of 2023’s The Surface – which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative and Hard Music charts and produced the No. 1 rock radio hits “Might Love Myself” and “I Was Alive” – Beartooth entered a new creative and commercial stratosphere. Pure Ecstasy, the band’s sixth album and first with new label home Fearless Records, builds on that momentum while expanding into even more ambitious territory, capturing Shomo reckoning with both the darkest and brightest parts of himself in real time. At 11 tracks in under 40 minutes, Pure Ecstasy wastes no time getting to the point. Bigger, sharper, and more exposed than anything Beartooth has released before, the album channels both the chaos and clarity of hard-won growth into some of the most direct and unguarded songs of Shomo’s career.

The title track throws listeners directly into the turbulence at the center of the record. “Pure Ecstasy was birthed in a studio with Misha Mansoor, ridiculous loudspeakers, and the dumbest heaviest chugs we could chug,” Shomo says. “Once it was brought home and expanded on with Jordan Fish, there was no question it was the album opener.” Raw, overwhelming, and disorienting in all the right ways, it’s an undeniable statement of intent.

Elsewhere on the album Free pairs towering hooks and radical self-examination, capturing Shomo refusing to hide from himself any longer. “The song is the start of the next chapter of my music and my life,” Shomo says. “The emotional roller coaster that is living can be very complicated at times. In one day you can equally experience pure fear and pure joy. Free is the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make.”

Eyes Closed, and Beautiful Again, continue to push Beartooth’s balance of crushing heaviness and melodic immediacy into new territory.  “There are so many fun riffs to play on Eyes Closed,” notes Shomo. “It was so fun to scream out and let go. The song was written from the ground up with Jordan, and the moment it was a demo, we knew we had something special.” He continues “Beautiful Again was the first song written during the sessions with Jordan after we wrote free a few months prior. He was adamant that I dig in and write about exactly what I’m going through and how I feel. To me, this song perfectly depicts the duality of my headspace while writing the album. Pure joy and pure despair, nothing in between.”  Together with the title track and Free, they reveal an album that feels simultaneously monumental and deeply human – songs written for longtime outsiders and iconoclasts while opening the door to an entirely new audience.

The honesty found across Pure Ecstasy has always been the foundation of Beartooth. Shomo started the project in his Ohio basement in 2013, self-producing and playing every instrument on songs that transformed anxiety, depression, anger, and isolation into something fans could scream back at the world.  Over time, Beartooth became both bomb and balm – a vehicle for turning pain and self-destruction into songs that resonate with millions worldwide.

What began as an intensely personal outlet has evolved into one of modern rock’s most powerful success stories, from the gold-certified Hated and platinum In Between to sold-out tours and a rapidly expanding global audience.

Yet Pure Ecstasy represents something different. Bigger and more open than any previous Beartooth album, the record finds Caleb Shomo stretching himself toward a new level of vulnerability  – and for the first time, he didn’t do it alone. Where earlier Beartooth records often documented survival, Pure Ecstasy wrestles with what comes after: acceptance, self-awareness, confronting every fractured part of yourself without looking away, and ultimately, letting people in.

While Beartooth historically functioned almost entirely as Shomo’s solo vision in the studio, Pure Ecstasy became the project’s most collaborative album to date. Early songwriting contributions from Skyler Accord (Issues, Twenty One Pilots, Bilmuri) helped shape tracks including For Me By Me. Meanwhile, working alongside Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Poppy, Architects) cracked Caleb fully open, pushing a rawer examination than ever before. Caleb calls the process “the single scariest thing I’ve ever done,” but knows the result is a gift.

“He was feeling those things with me and pushing me to express them,” Shomo says of Fish. “Every time I felt like I didn’t have it, he’d carry me to the finish line –  and every time, a few days later, I’d listen back and think, ‘I’m so glad I didn’t back off. I’m so glad I didn’t hide.’”

The collaborative spirit continued throughout the recording sessions. Bassist Oshie Bichar (by Caleb’s side since 2014), guitarists Zach Huston and Will Deely, and drummer Connor Denis — who have evolved into a formidable live unit around Shomo — all played larger roles than ever before. Pure Ecstasy also marks the first Beartooth album where Shomo did not perform every instrument himself, with Denis performing on all the songs, many captured in complete takes, at NRG Recording Studios.
For years, Beartooth turned pain into anthems shouted back at the world. Pure Ecstasy captures what happens on the other side of that fight: not perfection or peace, but the possibility of freedom. It’s the sound of Shomo stepping fully into the light, no longer hiding from the parts of himself he once tried to outrun. And looking back, the journey was always written in the titles – Sick, Disgusting, Aggressive, Disease, Below, The Surface. Pure Ecstasy was always where it was heading.

SUPPORTING CHARLI XCX’S NORTH AMERICA ARENA TOUR THROUGH SEPTEMBER

AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR SOLD OUT IMMEDIATELY + PLAYING MEREDITH

underscores tshares ‘Unlimited Love b/w The Peace (Frost Children Remix)’, her first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed album U in March via Mom+Pop.

underscores has been teasing ‘Unlimited Love’ as part of her live show on her recent sold-out North America headline tour, and arrives as an expansion of the tight, nine-song sonic universe of U. As with U, ‘Unlimited Love’ is totally self-produced, written, mixed and mastered by underscores.

‘Unlimited Love’ arrives with a live performance video, paired with a B-side of ‘The Peace (Frost Children remix)’, following the release of the official video for the track earlier this month, watch here.

Since the U’s release undescores has been on the road across North America, playing 20 sold out dates across the GALLERIA North American chapter in May and June – including Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre and New York’s Terminal 5 – with venues upgraded multiple times due to demand.

Next month she joins Charli xcx’s Music, Fashion, Film North America arena tour as main support, appearing at all twelve dates across the run. She then heads on to Europe and the UK for the next chapter of the GALLERIA tour, which was also upgraded due to demand.

underscores then heads on to Australia to play  headline shows across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

underscores will also appear at Austin City Limits Festival, C2C Festival Turin, MIRA Festival in Barcelona, Primavera Sound Buenos Aires and São Paulo and Australia’s Meredith Festival. This Northern Summer fans have also had the chance to party with underscores at her U-Haul pop up shows in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, catch her in New York supporting Pink Pantheress or at Charli XCX’s Music Fashion Film album launch show, appearing with Oklou and Ninajirachi at Coachella or at The Dare’s Freakquencies club night.

Featuring the singles ‘Music’, ‘Do It’ and ‘Tell Me (U Want It)’, underscores’ third studio record U arrived as a self-titled album of sorts, nine songs encapsulating a confident pivot towards pop that also draws from her various creative eras to date, drawing from sounds across dubstep to future bass, to jazz chords, to guitars to create her most defining work yet. U’s sonic palette draws from the conceptual feeling of transience, and the related bustling spaces of shopping malls, airports and hotels. U has appeared in many publications’ best albums of 2026 so far lists, including The Guardian, Pitchfork, Dazed, FADER, NME, Billboard, Stereogum, The Quietus, Mixmag and more.

Origin stories reenact familiar myths; this one begins with a kid alone in a bedroom, trying to make something no one has heard before. Hailing from San Francisco, Filipino-American artist April Harper Grey started making music as underscores in middle school, sharing a steady stream of SoundCloud one-offs and building a community of like-minded fans. The 2017 skin purifying treatment EP pulled her project out of its solitary origins, and by 2021, her debut album fishmonger (recorded in that same childhood bedroom during the pandemic) launched underscores from recording vocals in a car to opening for 100 gecs on their US tour. Since then, underscores has sold out shows across the US, UK, Europe and beyond, played main stages at main stages at Lollapalooza, Coachella, Electric Forest,

Governor’s Ball, Corona Capital CDMX and toured with the likes of Porter Robinson and Danny Brown.

Now signed to Mom+Pop, she’s garnered over 150 million global streams and continued releasing adventurous, genre-defying music, including the concept album Wallsocket and collabs with Oklou, Danny Brown, Yaeji, Yves, Ninajirachi, umru and more.

JAGUAR JONZE ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM BEASTMASTER
PRE-ORDER / PRE-SAVE HERE
OUT 29 JANUARY VIA NETTWERK

+ SHARES LEAD SINGLE “KAWASAKI NINJA”
WATCH HERE | BUY/STREAM HERE

Taiwanese-Australian auteur Jaguar Jonze (aka Deena Lynch) announces her new album, BEASTMASTER, for release on 29 January via Nettwerk. The news drops with an exhilarating new single and music video, “Kawasaki Ninja”, out now.

BEASTMASTER is the culmination of a two-year hiatus from music, a period of profound reckoning in the aftermath of a life-changing diagnosis that forced Jonze to confront her health and sense of self. The album rises from the ashes of old identities and embraces contradictions – playful and fierce, vulnerable and provocative, intimate and expansive – allowing every version of herself to coexist freely. Built on instinct over perfectionism, this multiplicity is felt across morphing pop, electronic, experimental and lived-in sounds, as we witness an artist resurfacing with absolute awareness, reclaiming her body and inner identity, and shedding the weight of external forces. At its core is a conscious choice reflective of her life today, to step outside her comfort zone and confront doubt, fears and shame in order to evolve. Not mastery over our demons or beasts, but a willingness to live alongside every part of oneself. Not a perfected version of self, but a liberated one. An anthology devoted to rebirth as radical self-permission.

Jonze shares: “The rebirthing process in this album came from allowing myself to play again, without having to meet the expectations and demands of the world around me…. just to find the art I was creating because I had lost so much. To be able to come back to music meant that I had to just create… Through tragedy comes beauty, and when you lose so much, there’s so much to gain as well.”

Born from the throes of physical limitation, new single “Kawasaki Ninja” turns personal longing into pure, high-velocity escapism. After her diagnosis left Jonze unable to ride motorcycles, she translated the machine’s true essence, unfiltered freedom, motion and thrill into an explosive sonic powerhouse of thumping basslines and warping electronics. “I was writing with the feeling in mind,” she says. “What did motorcycles represent for me? Freedom.” The track becomes an uncompromising battle cry charged with defiant self-love, embracing a spirit that refuses to conform and ripping past the noise without looking back. Raw, exhilarating and deeply personal, “Kawasaki Ninja” is about reclaiming your autonomy, breaking free from constraints and having unapologetic fun while doing it.

On the track’s music video, she expands: “Being on set for the music video was the first time I got back on a motorcycle after years of neurophysio rehab. I’m passionate, and sentimental and knew that I would have the courage and strength to trust my body and do it if it was for my art. I was so scared but it felt so special to get back up on that horse (power haha) for this song that I had written about motorcycles, about freedom, about self empowerment in a time that was difficult to have faith in myself.”

Earlier this year, Jonze released the gritty, high-voltage single and music video “Naked”; an erratically addictive meeting point of pop and club-ready textures to mark her return to music. “Naked” saw support from triple j, Nova, Rolling Stone, Yellowbelly, Rage and more, and was live-debuted with a secret performance at Wings Independent Fashion Festival on Gadigal Land. The single was soon followed by “HALF DEVIL”, a collaboration with Taiwanese-American artist KIRE that pulled identity centre stage, examining the complex relationship with belonging that is tied to growing up between cultures.

Born in Japan to a Taiwanese mother and Australian father, Jaguar Jonze has shaped a multi-faceted career straddling the worlds of art, music and fashion. After breaking onto the music scene in 2019, Jonze went on to carve out her reputation for genre-crossing high art and enigmatic yet vulnerable songwriting on back-to-back EPs, Diamonds & Liquid Gold (2020) and ANTIHERO (2021). Come 2022, her high-octane, art-pop debut studio album BUNNY MODE saw Jonze find strength in vulnerability, a personal triumph of resilience shaped by her boundary-pushing art and creativity that received praise among Wonderland, PAPER, Refinery29, NME (The Cover), The Guardian, VICE, FLAUNT and more.

Lynch’s activism work has been recognised by Vogue Australia’s Most Influential Women of 2021, triple j’s Done Good Award, The Australian’s ‘Top 100 Cultural Leaders List 2022’ and Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘Trailblazers: 25 Women Reshaping Australia’, meanwhile her intersection with the art and fashion communities – including narrative illustration project Spectator Jonze and photography project Dusky Jonze – has seen collaborations with the likes of Christian Louboutin, Converse, Fendi, Nike, BMW, Reebok, Stüssy and more. Her most recent 2024 EP, victim impact statement, comprising three powerful tracks and an accompanying self-directed short film, further cemented her as one of Australian music’s most empowering voices.

Less a continuation than a transformation, BEASTMASTER marks a turning point for an artist whose work has long explored identity, resistance and reinvention. Where previous chapters were shaped by survival, BEASTMASTER is driven by instinct, curiosity and creative freedom.

BEASTMASTER is out 29 January 2027. Go full throttle with “Kawasaki Ninja”, out today.

TURMION KÄTILÖT Unleash Ferocious Second Single ‘Lunastakaa’ + Twelfth Studio Album RESODANCE Out On October 23

Following the massive wave of anticipation sparked by their recent album announcement and the chaotic first track ‘Raivotarjonta,’ Finnish industrial metal pioneers TURMION KÄTILÖT are doubling down. Today, the band strikes again with ‘Lunastakaa,’ the fiercely energetic second single from their upcoming twelfth studio album, Resodance, arriving globally on October 23, 2026, via Nuclear Blast Records.

Known for blending heavy industrial metal, pulsing electronic music, and wicked dark humor into a genre completely their own, the band continues to push creative boundaries with ‘Lunastakaa.’ The high-octane track arrives with an epic, visually striking music video that reflects the band’s trademark theatrical intensity and unmatched ability to turn extreme metal into a relentless dancefloor party.

Watch the video for ‘Lunastakaa’ here:  https://youtu.be/ccFLXsHQ83s

Pre-order Resodance: https://turmionkatilot.bfan.link/resodance

Composer of the song, RunQ, comments:
“Various demos have usually ended up waiting for the right moment to be released. When I was doing this, I immediately felt that this might not end up on the waiting list, at least not for a very long time 😉 “

Shag-U adds:
“I often write songs by looking in the mirror, but with ‘Lunastakaa’, the mirror became a window. The lyrics grew out of news stories about the abuse of power and exploitation, and questions about how deeply a person can be broken and whether there can ever be justice or compensation for what has happened. I love the contrast between the song’s upbeat, energetic feel and the way the lyrics twist that world into something grotesque – that’s one of the things I love most about Turmion Kätilöt. Later, someone also found a more self-ironic interpretation in the lyrics: artists turning themselves into commodities in exchange for money, visibility or approval. That fits this world frighteningly well, too.”

The album comes in following formats:

1 LP sleeve transparent red & black marbled vinyl

KOBIE DEE TURNS GRIEF INTO REMEMBERANCE ON POWERFUL SINGLE & VIDEO ‘MY HEART’

A deeply personal reflection on grief, remembrance, family and community, featuring the voice of his late grandfather.

The acclaimed Gomeroi rapper and storyteller Kobie Dee returns with ‘My Heart’, a deeply personal new single that transforms grief into a moving tribute to the family, friends and community members he has lost.

Written in the aftermath of profound personal and community loss, ‘My Heart’ carries their names, memories and legacies forward through his music.

“My Heart is probably one of the most difficult songs I’ve ever made. I wrote it for the people I’ve lost — my family, my friends and the people we’ve lost as a community. I tried writing something like this a few times before, but I could never get past the first verse. I really wanted to get it right.”

The song began to take shape around a year ago during a session with producer Nerve at Kobie’s own Twenny47 Studios. Shortly before the session, Kobie had attended the funeral of a close friend’s father. Walking into the studio carrying the weight of that loss, Kobie found himself immediately connecting with the beat Nerve played.

“As soon as that beat started playing, it was like everything I’d been holding in just came out. I wasn’t trying to force anything, it all just poured out.”

‘My Heart’ culminates in one of its most affecting moments: the voice of Kobie’s late grandfather, taken from an interview recorded not long before his passing, after he had been told he had only months left to live. His reflections bring the track to a deeply intimate close, connecting generations through memory, family and storytelling.

“Hearing him speak with so much honesty and reflection, it just felt like a powerful way for this song to end.

When we finished recording, I remember sitting there with Nerve holding back tears. It was one of those moments where you just know you’ve captured something powerful and special.”

Just two days after recording the song, Kobie and his community experienced another devastating loss. More followed. As the grief accumulated, ‘My Heart’ continued to evolve, with Kobie eventually adding the names of people his community lost throughout 2025.

For Kobie, it was important that those names were not only remembered privately but heard.

“Every funeral, every phone call, every name – the song kept growing with it. I wanted this song to carry them too. I wanted their names to be heard and their legacies remembered.”

The accompanying official music video expands the song’s story, exploring how grief is experienced at different stages of life. A younger version of Kobie attempts to understand loss for the first time, while Kobie today continues to navigate its lasting impact.

The visual also brings together the families of people honoured in the song, taking ‘My Heart’ beyond one person’s experience and turning it into a collective story of love, loss and remembrance.

“This isn’t just my story – it’s all of ours. This song belongs to everyone who’s had to say goodbye to someone too soon. The truth is, grief doesn’t really leave you, you just learn to carry it differently.”

‘My Heart’ marks the next chapter in the lead-up to Kobie Dee’s forthcoming debut album, due in 2027. The release further establishes the Maroubra/Bidjigal-based Gomeroi artist as one of Australia’s most compelling contemporary hip-hop voices.

Across his career, Kobie has amassed more than 80 million global streams and built a social following of more than 150,000. He has earned Gold Accreditation for his singles ‘Jody’ and ‘About A Girl’ and received an ARIA Award nomination for his EP Chapter 26.

His recent single ‘Aim For The Stars’ continued that momentum, securing an A-League Grand Final sync, and earning a 2026 NIMA nomination for Song Of The Year. Kobie Dee performed ‘Aim For The Stars’ at the recent South Sydney Rabbitoh’s Indigenous Round celebrations at Allianz Stadium.

With ‘My Heart’, however, the focus turns inward. Rather than accolades or career momentum, the record is grounded in something far more fundamental: family, community, memory and the people who continue to shape us after they are gone.

Kobie hopes listeners navigating loss will recognise a part of their own experience in the song and feel less alone in their grief.

“More than anything, I hope ‘My Heart’ reminds people that the ones we love never really leave us. We carry them in our stories, in our memories, in the way we live and in the love they left behind. If this song can help even one person feel seen in their grief, then it’s done what I hoped it would do.”

“My Heart” is available now on all streaming platforms

through Bad Apples Music / Island Records Australia

FOLK-POP DUO CALI RD RELEASE  NEW SINGLE ‘HOLD ON’

SUPPORTING BOY & BEAR IN BRUNSWICK HEADS (NSW) & SUNSHINE COAST (QLD)

ANNOUNCED TO PLAY ST LUCIA BLOCK PARTY FESTIVAL (QLD) & NYE ON THE HILL (VIC)

Australian folk-pop duo Cali Rd return with ‘Hold On’, a nostalgic new single about relationships that quietly slip away and the difficulty of accepting when something meaningful has run its course.

‘Hold On’ arrives alongside Cali Rd’s growing live schedule. Following a run of dates supporting Jack Botts  and their own headline shows, the duo are preparing to join Boy & Bear in Brunswick Heads and the Sunshine Coast next month. Cali Rd have also been announced to perform at St Lucia Block Party Festival in Brisbane on September 6 and NYE on the Hill in Victoria at the end of the year.

Written by Jack Hunt, Sam Hunt, Tom Eggert and Robby De Sa, and produced by De Sa (Baker Boy, MAY-A), ‘Hold On’ brings together brothers Sam and Jack Hunt’s honest storytelling, laid-back energy and soaring harmonies.

Cali Rd share, “Hold On explores the feeling of looking back on a person who once meant everything and wondering whether pretending things were okay would have saved it. The song captures the fear of change, and the hope that maybe just one more day together could maybe make things right again. It’s about holding onto something that feels like it’s worth fighting for, even when both people know they have outgrown each other. A realisation that growing older doesn’t make letting go any easier.”

‘Hold On’ follows Cali Rd’s first two original releases, ‘Falling Fast’ and ‘Never Love Again’, and further establishes the duo’s distinctive combination of contemporary folk-pop, country-rooted storytelling and an understated rock edge. Their debut single, ‘Falling Fast’, introduced Cali Rd with an uplifting reflection on unexpectedly falling for someone and surrendering completely to that feeling while ‘Never Love Again’ and now ‘Hold On’, reveal another side of their songwriting; exploring the uncertainty, memory and emotional weight that remain when love begins to change.

So far their original releases have been praised by Off The Record with Isaiah, Reverie Au, Australian Music Scene, The Music and Aussie Music Shack with their most recent release ‘Never Love Again’ securing DSP support across Spotify and Apple Music, with Spotify playlist additions including New Music Friday Iceland, New Music Friday Denmark and Open Skies and Apple Music adding to A-List Pop, New Music Daily, New in Pop, Heaps Local Hits, Today’s Acoustic, Teen Pop Hits, Today’s Hits and Today’s Easy Hits.

For Sam and Jack, ‘Hold On’ is the latest chapter in a musical partnership that began during childhood. Born in Adelaide and raised across Central Australia and Darwin, the brothers grew up surrounded by music. They began lessons at the age of six, listening to classic rock and watching their father perform in country bands. Their teenage years included time on a remote cattle farm near Alice Springs, where the isolation and vastness of the outback gave them space to sharpen their musicianship and develop their natural creative chemistry. They later moved to Darwin, where they continued writing while working in their respective trades, Jack as a carpenter and Sam as an electrician.

Initially performing as The Hunt Brothers, Sam and Jack built a global online audience through their acoustic covers and original performances.

Now known as Cali Rd, they have amassed more than one million followers across their social platforms and have re-located to Sydney. Cali Rd draw inspiration from every part of their journey: the red dirt and isolation of Central Australia, the dramatic storm skies of the Top End and the relaxed energy of life on the New South Wales coast.

SERGE & THE CURRENTS Channel Decades of Experience Into Debut Single  ‘This Too Shall Pass’

Single Out NOW

Pain can feel permanent in the moment, but even the hardest chapters eventually pass. Built around that idea, ‘This Too Shall Pass’, the debut single from Serge & The Currents, explores heartbreak, regret and the difficult process of accepting that what hurts now will eventually ease. Stream ‘This Too Shall Pass’

Led by Naarm/Melbourne-based Latin guitarist, music educator and composer Sergio Ercole, Serge & The Currents brings together some of the city’s finest musicians, drawing on decades of lived experience through relatable storytelling and accomplished songcraft.

Marking a new guitar-driven folk and country-pop direction for the Florence-born musician, the project builds on more than 40 years of performance and composition across Italy, the United States and Australia.

Serge & The Currents’ debut single sees them blend melodic country-pop with shuffling drums, bright acoustic textures, and expressive guitar work peppered by Southwestern and Latin influences. These nostalgic guitar tones sit alongside distinctly Australian vocals and melodies, giving the project a sound that feels both familiar and individual.

Despite its upbeat, playful and easygoing feel, ‘This Too Shall Pass’ carries a subtle melancholic undercurrent, capturing that sense of being caught looking back while trying to move on. Sergio Ercole speaks on the track:

“‘This Too Shall Pass’ is me arguing with myself in the wreckage of a breakup, replaying the laughs, the wine and the reasons I ran, while trying to believe the hurt won’t last forever. It’s a mid-life heartbreak song about that messy, honest moment where you choose to keep walking anyway.”

Reminisce on the past and replay the laughs with ‘This Too Shall Pass’, the debut single from Sergio Ercole’s newest project, Serge & The Currents. Bringing together decades of experience and musicianship, the track is out now and will be followed by an intimate single launch at the Wesley Anne in Northcote on Sunday, September 13.

ASHA JEFFERIES SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘WHAT THE HELL’

ANNOUNCES ALBUM TOUR

ANNOUNCED AS SPOTIFY’S EQUAL AUNZ SPOTLIGHT ARTIST

NEW ALBUM DESIRE IS AN ANGEL OUT 2 OCTOBER VIA NETTWERK

Australian songwriter Asha Jefferies will release her new album, Desire Is An Angel, in just over a month, on 2 October via Nettwerk. Having already introduced the record with the singles ‘Backwards Baby’,’Art of Suggestion’ and ‘Cool Guy’, today she unveils its final preview, ‘What the Hell’ and announces a tour down the East Coast.

Speaking about the new single, Asha says, “This was the first song I wrote for the record. It literally took me years to finish though and the chorus sat on its own for a very long time. I wanted it to feel celebratory, not self-centred. And walk the line of expressing forgiveness and resentment. It’s a song about wanting someone’s words to reflect their actions and vice versa.”

The new single arrives as Asha continues to build momentum ahead of the album’s release. She was recently named Spotify’s EQUAL AUNZ Spotlight Artist for August, joining Spotify’s global EQUAL initiative, which celebrates and amplifies the voices of women making waves in music around the world, with editorial support across the platform and a New York Times Square billboard.

After releasing her debut album, Ego Ride, in 2024, Jefferies toured the UK, Europe and the US, and supported Courtney Barnett, Soccer Mommy and Hana Vu. She returned to the UK to record Desire Is An Angel with producer Tom Iansek (Big Scary, #1 Dads). Co-produced by Jefferies and Iansek, the album is a showcase for Jefferies’ sophisticated indie rock and folk-pop songcraft. It’s both more sonically ambitious and more intimately personal than its predecessor.

Jefferies wanted to make music that would soften her. As she started writing songs for her second album, Jefferies began listening closely to her desire. We tend to think of desire as stemming from lack. But on her new album, Desire Is An Angel, Jefferies depicts desire as an essential force in the development of our self-knowledge.

“It’s less about getting what you want, and more about understanding what you want and why you want it,” Jefferies says. Making the album was a transformative process, she adds, “It has taught me how to feel more confident and comfortable within what I desire. I think before, I was quite timid and hesitant to want things.”

Jefferies explores her former tendency to silence desire on the album’s first single, the symphonically-adorned ‘Backwards Baby’. A similar effort to stamp out desire shows up in ‘Cool Guy’, a crescendoing alt-country song that starts out sounding like a scratchy home demo and ends sounding like the sort of power ballad that could bring lighters into the air in a packed arena.

On the meditative title track, Jefferies draws attention to desire’s spiritual dimension. “Desire is an angel, I can’t turn it off,” she sings. On ‘Art of Suggestion’, one of the record’s most classic-sounding pop songs, Jefferies plays with the imaginative potential of desire.

On ‘Lilo & Switch’, a song that recalls the punchy and emotive indie rock of Soccer Mommy and Lucy Dacus, Jefferies illustrates how desire goes to the core of our being. “I wanna listen,” she sings. “Wanna reach some wisdom.”

At the centre of Desire Is An Angel is Jefferies’ voice, which never sounds formal or abstract, even when she flaunts her vast vocal range. Every line is delivered with emotive intent, with Jefferies occasionally attenuating vocal phrases or shifting into a conversational tone to better evoke the complex feelings being explored.

The album is by turns raw, sympathetic, elated and erotic. But the ultimate effect of listening to Desire Is An Angel is a softening. “It’s a way of processing my life as well, to digest what I really want and look at what that might mean,” Jefferies says. “I’ve learnt that I can give that to myself.”

SLOWLY SLOWLY RETURN WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE “SACROSAINT”

Australian favourites Slowly Slowly return with powerful new single “Sacrosaint”. Their first new music since 2025’s Forgiving Spree (#1 Australian ARIA Album Charts), the track is an urgent, explosive anthem charged with raw passion, desperate energy, and a high-wire vocal performance that pushes frontman Ben Stewart to his absolute physical limits. You can listen to the track HERE.

Kickstarting an ambitious new era for the trio, “Sacrosaint” marks a pivotal evolution in Ben’s songwriting. Where previous releases were defined by introspective self-reflection, this time he turns his lens towards the world around him, merging his trademark personal observations with a broader, global perspective. As the turbulence of the wider world began to mirror the chaos of his own life, Ben channels the feeling of “standing in quicksand” while watching the world sink around him, capturing that sense of existential dread in the track’s poignant line, “eight billion lonely people, and not enough for equal.”

At its core, “Sacrosaint” is a warning about what happens when we stop nurturing the foundations beneath us – both personally and collectively. A clever play on the word “sacrosanct”, the song sits in the space between helplessness and urgency, questioning what happens when the things we rely on begin to erode, and we take the structures holding us together for granted. Delivered with an emotionally raw vocal performance kept intentionally on the edge of falling apart, the single builds with relentless momentum toward its explosive climax, “we’re running out of time.”

Ben shares, “‘Sacrosaint’ is about the things that we’ve taken for granted, the things that have been sacrosanct in the past, and how we always think they’re going to be there. In that laziness, you’re watching the pillars of what holds up your life and society erode. The good in the world felt like it was disappearing. It felt like a big warning sign – if we stop watering those things that are so important for our happiness, it’s over. So, it felt like a warning.”

On the track’s music video, he expands, “I knew exactly what I wanted for the video, which is unusual as I’m not a very visual creative. I needed apocalyptic, I needed the tension of the band performance backdrop in the middle of nowhere against the feeling of intense movement. The two videos I had in my head as inspiration were ‘Scar Tissue’ by Red Hot Chili Peppers and ‘Minerva’ by Deftones.”

WATCH & SHARE – SLOWLY SLOWLY “SACROSAINT” https://slowlyslowly.ffm.to/sacrosaint

The new single and music video arrive following the announcement of Slowly Slowly’s place on the 2026 Good Things Festival lineup, alongside Simple Plan, Neck Deep, Bilmuri, The Home Team, LØLØ, All-American Rejects, Polaris, and more. On the live front, Slowly Slowly recently celebrated ten years since the release of their debut album Chamomile with a sold-out hometown show at Melbourne’s Evelyn Hotel, before Ben headed to the US for a series of stripped-back solo shows in Los Angeles and Nashville.

What has always set Slowly Slowly apart is their ability to turn deeply personal experiences into songs that feel universal – pairing introspective reflections, heartfelt storytelling, and sensitive sadness with clever wordplay and an instinct for a huge melodic payoff. Following the release of Forgiving Spree (2025) – the band’s third Top 10 ARIA album – the Melbourne three-piece are now entering their next chapter with a renewed sense of creative freedom, taking greater control of their creative process as they build towards their most raw and authentic era yet.

Since emerging in 2015 with debut single “Empty Lungs”, Slowly Slowly have grown into an unshakeable musical force, built around a fiercely loyal fanbase and a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling live bands. Across five acclaimed studio albums – 2016’s Chamomile, 2018’s St. Leonards, 2020’s Race Car Blues (#8 ARIA Charts), 2022’s Daisy Chain (#5 ARIA Charts), and 2025’s Forgiving Spree (#1 Australian Album, #8 ARIA Charts) – Slowly Slowly have continually evolved without losing the emotional honesty at the heart of their music.

Their live resume includes taking over Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on their biggest-ever headline tour, completing their first UK/European headline run, and sharing stages with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stand Atlantic, Crawlers, Amy Shark and Ocean Alley. Backed by collaborative tracks with Frank Turner, Alex Lahey, and Grayscale, alongside festival appearances at Good Things, Splendour in The Grass, UNIFY, Groovin The Moo, Party In The Paddock, Beyond The Valley, and Yours and Owls, Slowly Slowly continue to stand out as one of the country’s most formidable bands.

LEE RITENOUR’s kaleidoscopic fretwork dazzles on his new album, Live At Ronnie Scott’s.

Released on 23 October via The Players Club / Artone Music Group.

Check out the first single ‘Is It You.’
Pre-order / pre-save HERE.

When Lee Ritenour takes the stage, all bets are off. For almost 60 years, the Grammy-winning LA guitarist has chased his muse through a kaleidoscope of genres, conjured alchemy alongside the scene’s greatest players, shed his creative skin whenever it got too comfortable, and walked the high wire each night as the crowd held its breath.

So when it came to catching the sparks on his latest live album, the 74-year-old naturally turned to the fabled London club that shares his rebel ethos. Live At Ronnie Scott’s will be released on 23 October via The Players Club / Artone Music Group, and will be available on LP, CD and digitally. As a taster of what is to come, check out the first single, ‘Is It You.’

Talking about the song, Ritenour says, “This one has definitely evolved. There’s some videos out there of people recreating the ’80s version, and they do it very well. But I’ve taken a different approach with the tune, because it was such a big hit, but it was never an easy tune to play live – it was always challenging for everybody. So when you hear this version from this band, it completely has its own flavour. The reason being that the two singers on it are both Brazilians, Munir Hossn, the bass player, and Tatiana Parra, the female singer.”

He adds, “And this is a funny story, because I decided I wanted to start doing ‘Is It You’ again, and I had a feeling Munir could handle it. So I sent him the song a year ago, and he wasn’t so familiar with it, because he’s too young for that period. But he called me back and said, ‘Yeah, Lee, that’s a great song, I think I can do it. There’s only one problem: I’ve never sung a song in English’. He’s sung songs in French, Portuguese, Spanish…So I laughed and said, ‘Well, let’s give it a try.’ So what’s nice about this version is that I don’t try to force the two singers to Americanise, if you will, the vocal performance. They’re definitely both singing with accents, and we have a softer, slow-groove approach to the song that lends itself to Munir and Tatiana. So I’m very happy with the way it turned out.”

Performing a total of eight shows at the iconic Soho club in March 2026 – with a fresh setlist each time – was the only way this prolific artist could hope to represent every side of his career. Across his 50-strong back catalogue, Ritenour has shapeshifted from ’70s fusion hotshot to ’80s chart-crossover star, from the honorary ambassador for Brazilian jazz to one quarter of ’90s supergroup Fourplay – and beyond.

Every song feels fresh and alive, thanks to the bandleader’s bold arrangements and the rip-it-up energy of a young band featuring Giorgi Mikadze (keys), Munir Hossn (vocals/bass), Grégoire Maret (harmonica), Tatiana Parra (vocals) and Ritenour’s son, Wes, driving the shows from his drum stool.

“I’ve had the chance to play every kind of music with every kind of artist,” reflects Ritenour, “and that’s the way Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club is set up too. Obviously, since 1959, it’s seen the history of jazz, from Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis and Nina Simone, to Jeff Beck and Jamie Cullum. But also rock, soul, blues, you name it – it’s all been through there.”

Born in Los Angeles in 1952, he was playing guitar by eight, “serious” by 12, and soaking up everything that Sixties flashpoint had to offer. “My dad used to take me to hear Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, Joe Pass and Jim Hall,” he reflects. “But there were also the rock guys coming through LA back then, like Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.

But Ritenour grew up fast, and from the late ’60s he was a first-call sessioner for giants like Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, B.B. King and Tony Bennett. “I’d get called for Steely Dan or Quincy Jones would ask me to come by the studio at midnight,” he says of those gun-for-hire years. “Somebody once added up that I did 3,000 recordings for artists, movies and TV shows. It was incredible reaching the top tier as a studio musician. But I always had a desire to write my own songs and records – to be an artist.”

In ’76 and ’77, Ritenour established his own solo career. For the next four decades, he would shift gears and outrun categorisation at every turn, from his pop crossover on 1981’s Rit, to winning a Grammy in 1985 for Early A.M. Attitude, and not forgetting Fourplay’s audacious jousts with fellow crème-de-la-crème musos Bob James (keys), Nathan East (bass) and Harvey Mason (drums). Perhaps his eclectic vision was best summed up by 2010’s hugely ambitious and star-studded 6 String Theory album.

Live At Ronnie Scott’s is an artist performing with no safety net. As Ritenour reflects, the atmosphere during that March residency was electric and just a little dangerous, with London’s most discerning jazz fiends expecting fireworks from one of the US scene’s most fabled players.

“I have a history at Ronnie’s, going back to the ’70s. It’s such an iconic room, and the audience is so sophisticated. If you don’t deliver, it’s probably not good. But this band has been playing together consistently for the last few years, so we came into Ronnie’s already very glued, and the audience felt it from the very first song.”

FREMANTLE FIVE-PIECE GRUB SHARE TWO NEW TRACKS “STABILITY PLEASE” AND “THE FLOOR”
TAKEN FROM THEIR SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM, OUT OCTOBER 9 VIA WING SING RECORDS

Following the massive response to lead single Shake It, which was added to full rotation on triple j and picked up airplay nationwide, Fremantle five-piece GRUB return with two new cuts from their forthcoming self-titled debut album:
Stability Please and The Floor.

LISTEN TO STABILITY PLEASE | LISTEN TO THE FLOOR

Fronted by songwriter and lyricist Matilda Beales, GRUB features Peter Bibby on drums, Edo Ekic on bass, and guitarists Duncan Strachan and Mitch McDonald.

“Stability Please is about getting off the grog,” explains Beales, “riding the highs of early sobriety and hoping to hell you might finally become a stable human being”.
The track captures GRUB at their most hopeful, while retaining Beales’ trademark honesty and revealing the tenderness beneath all that noise.

“The Floor” carries a different weight. Beales wrote the song as a motivational speech to herself while undergoing chemotherapy in 2021. It grew out of the time she spent lying on her bedroom floor, placing her own difficult experiences alongside those faced by the people around her.

Together, the tracks widen the frame on a nine-song debut concerned with the beautiful mess of being human. At its centre is Beales’ darkly funny, brutally honest songwriting and fierce, unfiltered delivery.

GRUB will celebrate the album’s release with a hometown launch at Perth’s Mojos Bar on Saturday 10 October, joined by Doctopus and Great Statue.
Tickets available here.

GRUB first caught the attention of The Peep Tempel’s Blake Scott, who pulled his car over on the Fremantle bridge after hearing one of their early singles on RTRFM so he could catch the back announcement. The chance discovery led to a support slot on The Peep Tempel’s recent Tales 10th anniversary shows and, ultimately,
a home with Wing Sing Records.

Loud, vulnerable and deeply human, GRUB’s self-titled debut album arrives

Second album Cancel Me (I’m Tired) due October 2nd

Last week, 500 Fat Dog fans descended upon Bermondsey for an incendiary outdoor pop-up show dubbed Woofstock. Reports are unconfirmed as to whether band member Chris Hughes was nude in homage to Flea’s Woodstock 1999 appearance.

Today, the band release the seething ‘Call It What You Want’, a thrilling whirlwind of post-punk fury and rave-y synths, just crowned Hottest Record on Radio 1. It’s the fourth single to be taken from their upcoming second album Cancel Me (I’m Tired) – out Oct 2nd via Domino.

Talking about ‘Call It What You Want’, frontman Joe Love says: “That’s me looking at people in my family and their problems and thinking, ‘Is it gonna be the same for me? Is it in my DNA?’”

POLARIS RETURN WITH ELECTRIFYING NEW SINGLE + VIDEO ‘WITHOUT YOU’
PERFORMING THIS DECEMBER AT GOOD THINGS FESTIVAL 2026

At the crossroads of grief and exhilarating sonic potency, Sydney’s Polaris return today with their first instalment of new music in three years, unleashing their brand new single Without You via ADA in AU/NZ and SharpTone Records for the remainder of the world.

Born from unimaginable pain following the loss of their bandmate and brother Ryan Siew in 2023, Without You channels their love, hurt and heartbreak into an indelible end result. The track coalesces caustic vocals, crushing beats and torrid riffs set against soaring melodic choruses, a heart wrenching guitar solo and a ferocious breakdown outro that rivals Polaris’ heaviest moments to date. Hauntingly poignant, its lyrics show the band in their most brutally vulnerable state.

“Never did we imagine that we would one day have reason to write this song. But three years on, we find ourselves still making sense of this immeasurable tragedy, and what it has meant to be left in the wake.

This is the sound of crushing loss, shock, grief and heartache, and the beginning of us learning how to share that with the world.” –  Polaris

Alongside the release of Without You, Polaris have also today shared an enrapturing music video that powerfully captures the track’s ferocity and emotion. Highlighting the members left behind in this tragedy, the video brings forth their future while also reflecting and taking note of their creative past; interspersing imagery drawn from the band’s history with solemn visuals of the members performing in a stark, empty cathedral.

Watch the music video for Without You here:

Now with three studio albums, multiple ARIA Award nominations, millions of streams and a formidable global live reputation under their belt, Polaris have cemented themselves as a conduit for creating music that challenges, reflects and inspires alongside a blend of melodic metalcore, lush post rock coupled with electronic flourishes.

Forming in 2012, Polaris established their heavyweight status in the scene via their first two full-length albums, 2017’s The Mortal Coil and 2020’s The Death Of Me, both of which debuted in the Australian Top 10 and received ARIA nominations for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. In 2023, Polaris expanded on their previously-established bleak imagery and hard-hitting soundscapes, relentlessly embracing heavier tendencies and new creative terrain on their third album Fatalism. The record was however marked by uncharted anguish and pain due to Ryan Siew’s sudden passing, only months before its release; inadvertently cementing the album as a posthumous reflection of the late guitarist’s legacy and contributions to Polaris’ music and the music scene as a whole. Through the darkness of their experience, the music community shared in their grief and rose to uplift the band like never before, with their third LP debuting at #1 on the ARIA Charts, securing triple j’s Feature Album upon release, winning Best Independent Heavy Album at the 2024 AIR Awards, garnering a nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album at the 2024 ARIA Music Awards, a nomination for Australian Album of the Year at the 2023 J Awards, and a nomination in 2023 for the Australian Music Prize.

Armed with their trademark relatability and explosive arrangements in a live setting, Polaris have previously ticked off sold-out headline tours of Australia and tours across the globe. Most recently, 2025 saw Polaris make their Knotfest Australia debut, along with a whirlwind of international and Aussie festival appearances, including performances at Download Festival in the UK, Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park, Jera On Air, Rock for People, Big Pineapple Music Festival and more. Touring from the end of 2025 well into 2026, Polaris commenced the year performing at Froth & Fury Festival, and also marked the inaugural edition of their own curated festival, Life’s A Beach. The group also had the much coveted honour of supporting lifelong heroes Linkin Park for a massive national Australian arena run in March, and recently wrapped up supporting Electric Callboy for the mammoth North American leg of the TANZNEID World Tour.

A few short weeks from now, Polaris will join I Prevail in the UK and Europe throughout September-October, before returning to Australian stages this December as part of Good Things Festival, performing alongside Limp Bizkit, Simple Plan, Spiritbox, The All-American Rejects and many more. During their limited time off the road this year, Polaris have certainly not been standing idly by, spending time away from the stage in the studio for an uncharted new chapter. Against all odds, Without You signifies their first steps forward today.

SPANISH LOVE SONGS ANNOUNCE ALBUM FUTURE NAUSEA OUT 6 NOVEMBER
VIA PURE NOISE RECORDS PRE-ORDER HERE
SINGLE GOOD AMERICAN OUT NOW

SPANISH LOVE SONGS have announced their fifth full-length FUTURE NAUSEA, produced by ex-Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla (Tegan and Sara, Foxing) and Illuminati Hotties’ Sarah Tudzin (Boygenius, Kississippi) is set for release on 6th November via Pure Noise records.

Heartland rock has long been built on nostalgia, soft-focus vignettes of hometowns, wide-open interstates and the mythology of an America that may or may not have ever existed. FUTURE NAUSEA borrows the genre’s widescreen sonic ambition while rejecting one of its defining traits: Rather than looking backward for comfort, the album fixes its gaze squarely on what’s to come – not with optimism but with the uneasy certainty that tomorrow may prove even more difficult than today.

Alongside the announcement comes lead single Good American – a thematic backbone for much of the album.

WATCH | LISTEN

“Good American is inspired by the vets I’d deliver pizzas to at the VA hospital at the height of the War on Terror.” says singer Dylan Slocum. “Seeing what Trans soldiers have been going through with the recent bans unlocked stories I heard twenty years ago from guys living on the streets, and the song grew from there.

It’s always the same story. A story of what happens when the institution that preyed on your economic instability and desperation under the guise of patriotism and belonging turns its back on you. A story of surviving in the very margins you’d hoped to escape.

It’s an angry song. Maybe the angriest song I’ve ever written. The recording of it followed accordingly. We kept it minimal. Loud. It sets the tone for the album and this era of the band. We want people dancing and shouting like they’re at a packed out basement show.”

On the Pure Noise-released FUTURE NAUSEA, the evolution of the band’s sound reaches its most compelling form yet.  From the cathartic dread of Brave Faces Everyone (2020), to the explorative No Joy (2023), to the latest collaboration-laden EP A Brief Intermission in the flattening of time (2025), Love Songs are channelling the anthemic bombast of iconic albums like Born In The U.S.A., Sam’s Town, and Full Moon Fever. The LP is a masterful paradox: shimmering keyboards, ringing guitars, and soaring choruses soundtracking Slocum’s no-holds-barred lyricism, here narrating the world’s bleakest doomscroll, unfolding against a backdrop of political violence, late-stage capitalism and an uncertain road ahead.

Combined with Slocum’s own internal fears, the result is an album consumed by choose-your-own existential crises yet delivered through melodies so immediate they almost let you forget the weight of the world outside – until the next devastating lyric snaps you back into anger and activism.

“When I first sat down to work on the record, I basically told everybody I just wanted to make a big rock record, whatever our version of something like Born in the U.S.A. would feel like if it could exist,” Slocum explains. “But as much as I wanted to make a major-key-sounding album, I wanted it to be as angry politically as it could be. More angry than sad. I actually think this is the least sad record we’ve ever made.”

The album’s title track and opening number announces that arrival with a bang, with Van Woert’s crystalline synth lines gradually introducing each subsequent instrument one by one like the opening moments of a rock show, every band member stepping into the spotlight before the song explodes into a cathartic release. Rolling basslines and four-on-the-floor energy propel “Living Blues” and “Good American,” providing the bed for Slocum’s deeply expressive vocals that deliver every heartbreaking line with gut-wrenching conviction, while the pounding “New Fears” is all slamming tambourine and shoulder-shaking Asbury Park swagger, tailor-made for packed festival fields.

Elsewhere, “Welcome to Hell” eases off the throttle into a soaring anthem worthy of the perfect John Hughes montage; by contrast, “Jan666” and “No Dreams” mourn the loss of a loved one – not to death, but to men’s rights groups, a border patrol job, right-wing extremism and a life that has become the very opposite of everything Slocum wished it would be. Yet for all its lyrical darkness, Future Nausea never fully gives in, arguing instead that despair is a losing bet. “Doom Tripping” sits as perhaps the clearest articulation of the album’s guiding philosophy, sending a sweeping “Just Like Heaven”-style synth skyward with a beautiful, simple mantra: “Post-apocalyptic doesn’t mean we all stop dancing.”  It’s these subtle shifts in perspective that give the album’s back half, in particular the set-closing “Until the Sun Explodes,” a faint but unmistakable glimmer of optimism.

“Even if things look lonely, I have my people,” Slocum says. “If we can start to understand that the interpersonal relationships are what matters, we can get to the other side of this.”
Over the last decade, Spanish Love Songs have watched that same community take shape one cramped club show and one new listener at a time. They’ve built a fiercely devoted fanbase, sharing stages with The Wonder Years, Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, The Menzingers, and Hot Mulligan and at Furnace Fest, 2000trees and the revived Vans Warped Tour. With plenty of global touring on the horizon and announcing soon, It’s proof that even in an era defined by isolation, people are still out there searching for others to stand beside them in the darkness.

Jamaica Moana & Songs with Strings – ‘TUGGAWAR (feat. wholesoul String Quartet)’

Stream / Download: https://jamaicamoana.lnk.to/tuggawar-sws

Jamaica Moana is a cultural powerhouse. A rapper, songwriter, creative director, and ballroom icon, she’s shifting the landscape of music, fashion, and performance with unapologetic energy and razor-sharp vision. Proudly Māori (Ngāpuhi/Tainui) and Samoan, and repping Western Sydney (Dharwal land), Jamaica fuses rap, R&B, and soul with ancestral fire and fierce queer identity. Her sound hits hard, her presence hits harder.

In the ballroom scene, Jamaica isn’t just part of the movement—she leads it. As co-founder of The West Ball, and a resident commentator, she commands the floor and carves out space for queer, trans, and BIPOC creatives to express, heal, and own their power. She’s building stages where community shines and the next generation rises.

In fashion, Jamaica is a walking statement. She’s walked for avant-garde visionaries Nicol & Ford and Jordan Gogos, not just as a model—but as a muse. Her visual world is electric: bold, spiritual, gender-fluid, and unbothered by convention. She doesn’t follow trends—she sets them.

Jamaica Moana is more than an artist. She’s a movement. Untouchable, unstoppable, unforgettable.

ACCLAIMED BRITISH SINGER/SONGWRITER/GUITARIST JAKE BUGG RETURNS ON NOVEMBER 13TH WITH ALAMO ON THIRTY TIGERS.

11-SONG SET FINDS THE CELEBRATED ARTIST LOOKING INWARD WITH A NEWFOUND PERSPECTIVE ON HIS MOST PERSONAL ALBUM TO DATE.

NEW TRACK “NEVER CAN TELL” EXUDES ROCKABILLY INFLUENCE WITH UNDERTONES OF HARD LESSONS LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE.

Acclaimed UK singer, songwriter, guitarist Jake Bugg returns on November 13th with his seventh studio album, Alamo. “Now an independent artist on Thirty Tigers, Bugg is off a major label for the first time and the timing could not have lined up more perfectly at this transformative period. The 11-song collection finds Bugg reconnecting with the roots, blues, rock and folk-driven influence of his earliest work, while re-introducing an artist with more life behind him, and considerably more to share, on his most personal and revealing work to date.

Rollicking new single “Never Can Tell” addresses the challenges of knowing who to trust and learning to rely on his instincts, after years of having to remain alert to the people around him. Listen to “Never Can Tell” HERE.

Alamo is something Bugg felt deeply compelled to create. “After all the years of touring and making records, it just felt like the right time to look inward. The last couple of years have been tough for me, and I’ve had a lot of struggles. I’m trying to navigate those and figure out where they stem from,” Bugg says. “Alamo was only going to work if I was going to be honest and be as vulnerable as possible. I’ve always had a lot of defences and barriers around me. I thought it was time to bring those down.”

The process was cathartic and begun his path to healing. After years of writing songs that connected with audiences around the world, Alamo represents his new willingness to let listeners see the person behind them.

On the tender and yearning opener, “When The Night,” Bugg establishes the album’s emotional terrain, wrestling with isolation and the desire to escape one’s own thoughts as he pines, “When the night comes through my door, when the shadows fall to the floor. I find myself wishing I was someone else.” The title-track sees him navigate the pains of being in a relationship that’s crumbling around him and opens wounds that had been pushed down, while the poignant ‘Cloud In The Sky’ is Bugg at his most open, untangling ghosts from the past.

Alamo was produced by a multi-grammy winning duo of producers Jimmy Hogarth (Anohni, Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini) and Steve McKewan (Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Eminem).

Bugg became an international sensation as a teenager with his 2012 self-titled debut, a triple-platinum, No. 1 album in the UK that established him as one of the most remarkable young voices in British music. From 2013-2016 he had made a significant impression on American audiences as well with his music, numerous television appearances, extensive touring while performing on major stages.

After nearly 15 years of dominating the UK and European charts and highlighting festivals all over, Jake Bugg is primed to re-connect with US audiences. Now 32, he is older, wiser and Alamo is a testament to his matured craft as a songwriter and an open-hearted revelation of his journey. A journey he is ready to share.
