G FLIP AND THE BEACHES TEAM UP FOR NEW SINGLE LEZ GO!

Melbourne-born, LA-based artist G Flip has announced their new single ‘LEZ GO!’, a collaboration with Canadian four-piece The Beaches, out now via AWAL Recordings. The track arrives mid-way through G Flip’s biggest-ever headline Australian tour, having already been performed live together at their shows in Brisbane and Sydney.

A joyful anthem about championing the people you love, ‘LEZ GO!’ was written by G Flip, Aidan Hogg and Steph Marziano (Hayley WIlliams, Sam Smith) during sessions for their third studio album Dream Ride, released September 2025 via AWAL Recordings. The record leans deep into neon-lit ’80s textures while staying rooted in G Flip’s raw, confessional songwriting, and arrived on the back of a landmark result in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2025, where G Flip placed three tracks (‘Disco Cowgirl’ (#23), ‘In Another Life’ (#50) and ‘Bed on Fire’ (#74)), extending their record of consecutive Hottest 100 appearances to eight years running.

It has been a remarkable stretch for G Flip. The ARIA Award-winner received a nomination for Best Pop Release for ‘Disco Cowgirl’, completed a 35-plus date run across the USA and Canada, headlined London’s legendary Brixton Academy, and was inducted into Out Magazine’s prestigious Out 100 list, celebrating the most impactful and influential LGBTQ+ people worldwide, and is nominated for Outstanding Music Act at the 2026 GLAAD Awards.

After sitting on a rough demo for some time, G sent ‘LEZ GO!’ to The Beaches, who co-wrote and recorded the second verse, turning it into the five-way collaboration it is today. The connection runs deep: G Flip previously co-wrote The Beaches’ track ‘Last Girls at the Party’, making this a genuine exchange between friends and long-time creative collaborators.

G Flip says: “LEZ GO! is an extremely fun song about supporting your loved ones. Writing music, I’ve always found it harder to write about the positive things in life as there’s so much deep emotion carried with heartache and sorrow. But with my latest album Dream Ride I really tried to hit some broader strokes with my writing. This was one of the first songs we wrote for the album and I kept it in my back pocket. I sent a rough demo to my mates The Beaches, they thought it was sick and then we worked further on it to make it what it is now. We’re on tour together around Australia so I’m so excited and honoured to have them on this song – they’re my friends but I’m also just a genuine fan of everything they do.”

The Beaches add: “We were so thrilled when G asked us to collaborate with them! We’ve known them for years, and they helped us write our song ‘Last Girls at the Party’, so we were pumped to jump on one of their tracks! It was a really fun exercise writing ‘LEZ GO!’. We got to write the second verse and are so proud of this track.”

Carla dal Forno ‘Confession’ Album Out April 24

‘Going Out’ Single + Video Out Now. via Kallista Records PRE-ORDER HERE

‘Confession’ is an album of quiet upheaval.

An album about closeness that arrives late and unexpectedly. About stability rubbing up against desire. About the way friendship can suddenly tilt into something charged — and how that charge unsettles everything around it.

Where earlier work often observed from a distance, Confession turns inward. The voice is closer, warmer, less shielded.
“This wasn’t the album I intended to make,” says Carla dal Forno. “I originally wanted something veiled and abstract, but I realised I couldn’t hide behind abstraction — the songs only worked when I leaned into emotional truth.”

This is dal Forno’s fourth LP, written and recorded over several years in a small country town, in a studio housed inside a partially abandoned hospital. Long corridors, humming lights, emptied rooms — a place built for care and waiting, now quiet enough for thoughts to echo. That stillness shapes the record: intimate, watchful, unadorned. “I live in a small country town that offers a stillness my life didn’t previously have,” she explains. “In that quiet, feelings I might’ve ignored in a busy city grew loud.”

Dal Forno sings plainly and conversationally, with an emotional precision that sharpens the everyday into something quietly unsettling.

‘Going Out’ is the albums leads single, which is out now.

The elastic basslines of ‘Going Out’ recall Normil Hawaiians or Hydroplane, capturing feeling in motion — heightened, looping, restless — dramatising desire and fixation.

The accompanying video, directed by Hanna Chetwin. Shot on 16mm film in the township of Guilford (birthplace of AFL legend Ron Barassi).

The album moves through paired states: going out and staying in, wanting and withholding, devotion and distraction. Domestic calm set against private unrest. A long-held relationship offers safety and routine, while a newer connection opens emotional fault lines — longing, jealousy, fantasy, self-exposure. “At the heart of the album is a friendship that became emotionally charged in an unexpected way,” dal Forno says. “That shift brought daydreaming, jealousy, tenderness, confusion, self-awareness — and eventually acceptance.”

The drama here is internal, incremental, lived.

‘Going Out’ video still. Directed by Hanna Chetwin

Musically, Confession feels lighter on its feet than its subject matter suggests. Melodic basslines anchor the songs while guitars, harmonies, and gently off-kilter rhythms move around them. There’s a looseness, even a playfulness — “like the sensation of tension lifting once you finally admit something to yourself,” as dal Forno puts it.

The album traces a subtle arc: attraction blooming where it shouldn’t; obsession quietly taking hold; fantasy overtaking reality; clarity arriving slowly, sometimes painfully.

Visually and emotionally, Confession returns to modest spaces: backyards, beds, night streets, overgrown paths. “The record exists in that contrast,” dal Forno reflects. “Peaceful surroundings, unsettled interior.”

Like all of dal Forno’s work, Confession resists clean conclusions. It doesn’t moralise desire or romanticise restraint. Instead, it lingers in the in-between — where love is stable but not total, where yearning teaches as much as it hurts, where solitude becomes a form of care.

Plain-spoken but emotionally complex. Rooted and restless. Held together by bass, breath, routine, weather. An album about admitting what you feel —and living with what that admission changes.

DANNY WALSH BANNED ‘NO MONUMENT’ (ALBUM)

Danny Walsh Banned return with No Monument, their fourth LP and boldest work to date, out 5 March 2026.

Recorded by Nao Anzai, the album marks the band’s first full-length release since the acclaimed In the Wimmera (2020) and expands their singular vision of Australian storytelling into stranger, wider terrain.

No Monument dives deep into outsider folklore and untold stories that sit between the cracks of Australian history — tales of outcasts, drifters, the homeless, and voices half-heard on late-night regional radio, when the dial isn’t quite tuned in. These are songs overheard at the bar of a country pub or carried across a long night drive through broken landscapes, told with humour, grit, and a restless sense of wonder.

Musically, No Monument resists neat labels. The songs move with a loose, road-worn confidence, shifting between swagger and stillness, warmth and unease.

The record is carried by the core Banned lineup — Leo ‘The Weed’ Tellefson on keys, Jorge Leiva on percussion, Julia Walsh and Cecilia Farley on backing vocals, Danny on vocals and guitar, and the rhythm section of Adam Green and Andrew Alves — with guest appearances from Kylie Auldist, Davey Lane and Chris Altmann.

No Monument is made to travel with you: across long highways, through sleepy towns, and the quiet corners of memory.

No Monument will be released with a tour of launch shows through Victoria;

Fri Mar 13 @ Tanswell’s Hotel, Beechworth + Luke Greenfield + Gary Mangred

Sun Mar 22 @ Shotkickers, Thornbury + Curlers + Esther Henderson, with special guest Kyle Auldist (tickets on sale now from www.shotkickers.com)

SASAMI & Angie McMahon Collaborate on new version of ‘Honeycrash’

Announces Blood On The Silver Screen: Director’s Cut – out March 27th. Also releases ‘I’ll Be Gone (Patti Harrison remix cut)’

SASAMI announces Blood On The Silver Screen: Director’s Cut, an expanded version of her 2025 album featuring reimagining and remixes of its songs by friends and collaborators. Leading the announce is a fresh collaboration with Melbourne’s own Angie McMahon, who offers a stirring reworking of lead album single ‘Honeycrash’. McMahon lends a new emotional weight to the track while her and SASAMI trade vocal responsibilities, the result is an atmospheric and soaring new version of the original.

Listen to ‘Honeycrash (Angie McMahon Cut)’ Here

SASAMI has also released a new remix of album track ‘I’ll Be Gone‘ by comedian Patti Harrison, while last year’s ‘Just Be Friends (Soccer Mommy Cut)‘ appears on the deluxe version of the album as well. Blood On The Silver Screen: Director’s Cut is digital-only and available for pre-order now ahead of its release on March 27th via Domino

More on Blood On The Silver Screen: Director’s Cut: “Celebrating one year of Blood On the Silver Screen, I feel like I’m reaching the end of a three-album long cycle in my life, where I’ve stretched my brain and spirit into a lot of different realms of music making,” SASAMI explains. “Obviously B.O.S.S. is my sojourn into the linguistic world of pop, but I also stopped along with metal and folk and many other manners of music making along the way. This year I feel myself being pulled home to classical music, where it all started for me.”

Naturally, SASAMI will be appearing alongside a chamber ensemble and guest performers this month on the Blood On The Silver Screen Reimagined Tour, which kicks off this week in San Francisco and then continues to Los Angeles and New York. “These March shows will showcase some re-orchestrated renditions of songs from B.O.S.S. and beyond, featuring a chamber ensemble of classical instruments instead of flashing lights and e-drums. Expect choirs and strings and experimental instrumentation from me and my guest artists- something different at each show.”

Additionally, SASAMI will be teaching a new online workshop through School of Song, taught online via Zoom lectures across 4 consecutive Sundays starting April 5th. Every week, SASAMI will give a lecture on subjects specific to her music making process with each class resulting in a homework assignment to write a song using the techniques discussed in the lecture. Some of the topics explored by Sasami in her lectures will include: observed patterns in pop music, starting a song with voice, exploring the album as a dissertation, plus orchestration, genre, and technology. Sign up at schoolofsong.org.

On Blood On the Silver Screen, released last year, the California-based polymath combined her classical conservatory-trained skills as a player, producer, and composer with her fearless and bombastic stage persona to create her most realized music to date: the all-out SASAMI pop record. Working with co-producers Jenn Decilveo and Rostam, with SASAMI as sole writer, each Blood On the Silver Screen track viscerally captures a different thread of love, sex, power, and embodiment. “Pop music is like fuel,” Sasami says. “It’s just invigorating.” Eschewing today’s pop zeitgeist, Sasami gravitated towards late aughts and 2010s pop a la Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, plus Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, and Sia. She was influenced by modern country storytelling, mixing vulnerability with humor, and the mood board also included Prince, Japanese city pop, and the stadium-sized, denim-clad iconography of Bruce Springsteen.

THE AMITY AFFLICTION RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘BLEED’ FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM HOUSE OF CARDS. TOURING AUSTRALIA WITH IN HEARTS WAKE & REDHOOK

THE AMITY AFFLICTION continue to tease the arrival of their much-anticipated new studio record, HOUSE OF CARDS, with the reveal of a blistering new single – ‘BLEED’.

Released as the band continues their extensive tour of regional Australia, the latest from THE AMITY AFFLICTION lands with impact; a ferocious stride forward for the group into a brand new era of artistry.

Where previous single, ‘HOUSE OF CARDS’,  was an emotionally weighted insight into the relationship songwriter JOEL BIRCH and his siblings shared with their mother, ‘BLEED’ has manifested itself into an avenue for Birch to look at public perceptions and personas, versus the reality he exists in every day.

As he explains, “This song is a bit of a fuck you to people online who leave comments like they know me personally, or know anything about what’s happening in my life, and a bit of a reminder to myself that I am not beholden to that idea, and I am the person I know myself to be. “I bleed the way I bleed…” is my way of saying that I am the way I am, not the way I am perceived to be by people who don’t actually know me and have formed or projected an idea of me onto me by way of social media.”

Released alongside the single today, THE AMITY AFFLICTION share the music video for ‘BLEED’, directed by Daniel Daly.

The release of ‘BLEED’ further positions the HOUSE OF CARDS era as one of the most exciting and defining for THE AMITY AFFLICTION – a band who has been driven by the desire to navigate new creative territory, music that empowers both them as a unit as well as their community of fans who have been with them throughout all their previous chapters.

HOUSE OF CARDS, the first full-length record to feature clean vocalist JONNY REEVES, is a moment of reinvention – and it is one the band is set to unleash in its full glory across a jam packed year of international touring to come.

Throughout March, THE AMITY AFFLICTION will be completing their 21 date regional tour with IN HEARTS WAKE and REDHOOK. Their return to North America in April coincides with the release of HOUSE OF CARDS – due for release via PURE NOISE RECORDS on April 24.

MELANIE DYER SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO ‘GOLDEN GIRL’ + PERFORMING AT SXSW IN THE US

Ready to take the stage at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas this month – the only Aussie country artist on the international multi-genre lineup – Melanie Dyer steps into 2026 with a song that feels like sunshine bottled in three minutes. Her uplifting new single ‘Golden Girl’ is a bouncy, heartwarming pop country anthem that captures the magic of young love.

Following her previous single ‘Homemade’, ‘Golden Girl’ leans into Melanie’s gift for honest storytelling, this time drawing directly from her own family history.

“When I was a kid, my Dad told the story about how he used to park his red Holden Sandman outside the ‘Golden Fleece’ truck stop where a pretty girl worked behind the counter. He said, with confidence to his friend, ‘I’m gonna marry that girl someday’ and eventually those baby blues won over my Mum.”

Set against playful production, the track was produced by Grady Saxman (Austin Snell, Tyler Braden, Julia Cole, Hannah McFarland) at Saxman Studios in Nashville, TN (Jelly Roll). It marks a milestone moment in the studio for Melanie.

“It was my first experience live tracking in the studio with all the musicians at one time. I sang a scratch vocal with the live band first and then they played the song a few times. I later went in to sing vocals in the booth. It was incredible to hear the song come to life in real time and have a say in what instruments and parts to play.”

The result is punchy, polished and brimming with warmth – a contemporary country love story that feels both deeply personal and universal.

WATCH VIDEO HERE

The nostalgia continues in the track’s music video, filmed in Melanie’s hometown of Inverell during Summer while she was home for Christmas. Directed and shot by Jackson James (and produced by Jackson James and Melanie Dyer) the clip brings the lyrics vividly to life – right down to the truck stop itself.

“We wanted to recreate that nostalgia as close to the original as possible when it came to the music video. We filmed at the exact location of the truck stop in my hometown, Inverell. We put a call-out to see if anyone had a vintage Holden we could use and a local reached out saying they had a green Holden that was originally owned by my Great Grandfather which felt so special to feature in the video.”

Now based in Nashville after officially relocating in April 2025, Melanie is still deeply connected to her regional Australian roots. Growing up on her family’s farm in Mount Russell, she began writing songs at just twelve years old. That farm-girl authenticity has since taken her to major stages including CMA Fest in Nashville, invitational writers’ rounds at The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room, and a sold-out Australian and New Zealand tour supporting US artist Cooper Alan in late 2024.

With over 12.5 million career streams, 3 x Golden Guitar nominations, 3 x APRA AMCOS Most Performed Country Work nominations (including her hit, ‘Memphis T-Shirt’, James Johnston’s ‘Got It Good’ and Kaylee Bell’s ‘Good Things’), and 2025 Countrytown Female Artist and Tour nominations, Melanie’s momentum continues to build on both sides of the Pacific.

“Moving to Nashville has inspired me more than ever to tell the story of who I am and where I come from. I am writing and recording my most personal music yet and my new album will be coming later in 2026.”

Taken from that forthcoming album, ‘Golden Girl’ is more than a love song. It’s a tribute to country beginnings, small towns and the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

NICE HOUSE RETURN WITH THE SULTRY SUMMER BREEZE OF ‘CAROLINE’

Delivering the first taste of new music since their debut EP The Life and Death of an Indoor Houseplant (2025) – whose obnoxiously boisterous opener ‘Perfect Design’ scored a place at #12 in the inaugural Grassroots Earworm Homegrown Hundred – genre-fluid nipaluna/Hobart art-pop quartet Nice House have today released their darkly caramelised new single ‘Caroline’.

Evocative of a sweet, slightly burnt summer, ‘Caroline’s golden haze disguises something more sinister. Nice House’s shimmering composition and sunny harmonies belie the true intent of the titular character – who has taken ownership not just of her own life, but also of someone else’s.

“‘Caroline’ is inspired by the shack I went to a lot as a kid, and still do, on the north coast at Lulworth. It’s this vision of a woman who has entered the total bliss of escape, but little do we know she has a dark undercurrent and murderous nature.” – Will Moon (vocals/keys/guitar)

You can picture it now; the warm, salty breeze of the Tasmanian northern beaches enveloping you as you sit on the deck, sipping a cocktail and forgetting time. You’re Caroline – you do what you want, when you want. This might not be your Summer House, but you’ve made it so, and if anyone tries to take it from you, they’ll meet a bloody end.

Recorded by Michael Shelley and Andrew Swayze, mixed by Andrew Swayze, and mastered by Andrew Edgson, ‘Caroline’ is available on Bandcamp and DSPs on March 5, 2026.

ABOUT NICE HOUSE: From the verdant throngs of Tasmania’s lush greenery, salty air and mountain breeze, comes Nice House – your new wave pop rock neighbours in short shorts and sneakers, asking risqué questions over the scraggly fences of nipaluna/Hobart. The band are an eight-legged dancing machine with vocal pizazz, leaning on the synth with the happy wobble of a drunk, stilettoed aunt.

With an eye for sharp, cutting lyricism, and thriving beats to match, Nice House have enamoured audiences across the island state with their high energy performances, unhinged stage antics, and contagious earworms, as well as earning themselves a #12 placing in the inaugural Grassroots Earworm Homegrown Hundred countdown, and a Tasmanian semi-final win in the 2025 Listen Up Songwriting Prize.

Jessica Fleming, Tim ‘Bones’ Fogarty, Beau Leighton and Will Moon believe you deserve it all – synths, vocal harmonies, bongos, guitar solos, congas, vibraslaps, saxophone, funky bass, more synths, yelling, kicking, screaming – Nice House delivers all this, and a hell of a lot more, with boundless enthusiasm and not a hint of restraint.

Nice House has made a splash in the Tasmanian music scene with buoyant performances at Party In The Paddock, Great Escape, DARK MOFO, MONA FOMA, Bonzaki Festival and the Reclink Community Cup, as well as major support slots for acts including Methyl Ethel and Jebediah.

Their next appearance will be at Tasmania’s Good Gumnuts Festival, from 6-8 March 2026.

KINGSWOOD ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW ALBUM MIDNIGHT MAVERICKS, UNVEIL NEW SINGLE ‘FAITH’

+ NATIONAL TOUR SUPPORT FOR COUNTING CROWS

Multi-Platinum & Gold ARIA-certified, ARIA-nominated, and 4x Golden Guitar-nominated, KINGSWOOD return with their new album, Midnight Mavericks, released globally on May 22.  Born from a love of vintage rock, country soul, and storytelling that lingers, KINGSWOOD is where Tom Petty meets Alan Jackson, and Johnny Cash shares a whiskey with Lynyrd Skynyrd – a perfect intersection of grit, groove, and heart.

PREORDER MIDNIGHT MAVERICKS

To coincide with the announce of the album, KINGSWOOD drop their latest single, Faith. Co-written with Tyler Halverson and hit-maker Jon Decious (Lainey Wilson), the track captures west coast country, big harmonies and more hooks than a tackle box. As the band describes the track, “Faith paints a picture of a free-spirited woman who’s the embodiment of resilience and joy. She’s cosmic, navigating life with her mama’s wisdom, and a healthy dose of pragmatism towards traditional norms. She’s the anchor, the muse, and the centre of chaotic worlds. Throw in a touch of philosophy behind embracing the unknowns of love and living it on your own terms and you got Faith.”

Midnight Mavericks is a bold, after-dark record written in the quiet hours between the show and the silence — shaped by long drives, back rooms and hard self-reflection — exploring ambition and belonging, love and restlessness, loyalty and escape, all wrapped in worn-in country-rock built on melody, muscle and storytelling rather than polish. The album has already generated major momentum with three acclaimed singles — “Lovin’ A Girl,” “Last First Kiss,” and  “Highway Signs” — earning radio additions across key country and rock radio networks, impacting the Countrytown Top 50 National Country airplay chart and securing attention on global playlists. Midnight Mavericks was produced by Alexander Laska, who also co-wrote all tracks on the album.

As the band describe the album, “Midnight Mavericks is an album written after the lights go out. You’re forced to reckon with who you are when no one’s watching. There’s grit here. There’s tenderness. It’s country and rock — worn in, not dressed up — built on melody, muscle, and stories, blending lived-in boots and hopeful dreamers.”

With over 80 million global streams and a career spanning more than a decade, KINGSWOOD has solidified its status as one of Australia’s most enduring and genre-defying bands. Known for seamlessly straddling the line between rock and country, the band’s new release plants its boots firmly in the dust of Americana, echoing the musical spirits of Neil Young, Gram Parsons, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Mature, intentional and confidently delivered, Midnight Mavericks captures KINGSWOOD operating at full force — a cohesive, purpose-driven album built for bigger stages, long roads and repeat listens — not chasing the spotlight, but marking a defining moment in the band’s career and firmly establishing their next chapter.

Leading into album release, KINGSWOOD will head out on tour with legendary US band, Counting Crows. The Australia/New Zealand tour runs from March – April; before KINGSWOOD head out on their own headline dates: For more details here.

MACKAY’S LEGENDS ON THE LAWN ANNOUNCES STELLAR AUSSIE LINE-UP…

LEGENDS ON THE LAWN is thrilled to announce the next stellar line-up for their legendary outdoor show.  The next concert will be headlined by Australian music icon, Jimmy Barnes, and supported by crowd favourites Jon Stevens (The Noiseworks/INXS Collection), Birds Of Toyko, Baby Animals, Busby Marou and Bachelor Girl.

Mayor Greg Williamson said that after record attendance last year, LEGENDS ON THE LAWN was back for its fifth year in Mackay and had cemented its place as the region’s biggest music festival.

“LEGENDS ON THE LAWN has a fantastic formula that works, a tremendous lineup of iconic Australian artists, beautiful outdoor location and a festival delivered like a well-oiled machine,” Mayor Williamson said.

“Following record crowds in 2025, we’re incredibly proud to welcome the event back for its fifth year. It has become the largest music festival in our region and delivers a huge economic benefit to Mackay through visitor spending, local jobs and increased tourism activity.”

“And what an incredible lineup we have this year, we’re excited to see Harrup Park packed once again in 2026 and look forward to welcoming thousands of passionate music fans to the Mackay region.”

Jimmy Barnes, is the heart and soul of Australian rock and roll. He has 22 #1 albums, more than The Beatles, and he has sold more records in Australia than any other local artist. For over 40 years he has delivered some of our most intense and iconic live performances both as a solo performer and as front man for the legendary Cold Chisel, leading him to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of fame … twice. He is truly in a league of his own.

In addition to his phenomenal music career, Jimmy has written four #1 bestselling books – his acclaimed memoirs Working Class Boy and Working Class Man (which won back to back ABIA Awards in 2017 and 2018), his 2020 collection of short stories, Killing Time and Highways and Byways: Tall Tales and Short Stories from the Long Way Round in 2024. Forged in the DIY traditions of the American Midwest, Hudson Freeman has quickly emerged as one of indie music’s most compelling new voices. His songs are resonant, reflective and deeply poignant, shaped by a life lived between contrasts. Born to Evangelical missionaries, Freeman began writing music after a formative upheaval at thirteen, when his family relocated from suburban Dallas to the Kingdom of Eswatini. Those early experiences, alongside the influence of indie touchstones such as Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver and his college years in Springfield, Missouri, helped define his raw, selfmade approach to songwriting.

Freeman’s recent fulllength release cemented his reputation as a songwriter unafraid to confront life’s most draining contradictions, exploring themes of modern identity, digital disconnection and faith with striking honesty. His latest single, If You Know Me, has drawn increasing attention, pushing him into a wider spotlight with its moody blend of bedroom pop, folk, slowcore and postemo, anchored by a singular guitar riff and mantralike lyrics that highlight his undeniable gift for melody.

This upcoming headline run will be Australian audiences’ first chance to experience Hudson Freeman in a fully realised live setting, where his quiet intensity and unguarded storytelling transform performances into moments of shared reflection. The tour coincides with Freeman joining Mumford & Sons as a special guest across Australia and New Zealand, marking a significant moment in the ascent of one of indie folk’s most emotionally resonant new voices.

JACKIE BRISTOW (featuring KATRINA BRISTOW) ‘LET IT RAIN’ (SINGLE)

Co-written by Jackie Bristow and acclaimed Los Angeles songwriter Rosa Pullman, “Let It Rain” is a song of release, renewal, and stepping fully into your best self. With its uplifting refrain — “Why worry, worry, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain” — the track invites listeners to surrender the past and embrace joy without hesitation. “It felt like the perfect duet for us,” Jackie says. “There’s something very special about sisters singing together — a connection that can’t be created any other way.”

NEW ALBUM COMING SOON
New Zealand–born, Nashville–New Zealand–based singer-songwriter Jackie Bristow announces the first single from her highly anticipated sixth studio album, GOLDMINE. The shimmering, soul-lifting new track “Let It Rain,” recorded in Nashville and produced by longtime collaborator Mark Punch at SoundPunch Studios, marks a moment of celebration and artistic return.

“Let It Rain” is harmony, heart, two voices, two sisters, an uplifting Americana track that represents a deeply personal milestone for Bristow. The song marks her first-ever recorded duet with her sister, Katrina Bristow, and was co-written with California-based songwriter Rosa Pullman. Melodic and emotionally uplifting, the track delivers warmth and accessibility while remaining grounded in Jackie’s signature Americana storytelling roots.

At the heart of the release is a rare and deeply resonant collaboration. While the sisters spent over a decade in their youth touring and performing together as The Bristow Sisters, “Let It Rain” captures their voices side by side in the studio for the first time. There is something timeless and powerful about sisters singing together — the blend is effortless, emotionally rich, and instantly authentic.

A Full-Circle Sister Story: Jackie and Katrina grew up singing side by side in the deep south of New Zealand. They first stepped onto a stage together at the NZ Gold Guitar Awards when Katrina was eight and Jackie was eleven.

Their childhood was spent traveling throughout the South Island in the family’s old Ford Falcon, performing at festivals, rodeos, and country music competitions with the unwavering support of their parents.

“It was an incredible time in our lives,” Jackie reflects. “We were surrounded by a vibrant community of young singers and musicians. Those years shaped us.”

Now, decades later — after building lives and careers on opposite sides of the world — the sisters finally found themselves in the same country long enough to create music together again.

HEALTH RELEASE NEW REMIX EP R-TYPE 1
LISTEN HERE

RECENT ALBUM CONFLICT DLC OUT NOW
LISTEN HERE

TOURING NATIONALLY THIS SEPTEMBER

“If RAT WARS is ELDEN RING and CONFLICT DLC is SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE, then R-TYPE has to be NIGHTREIGN.  Enjoy these remixes and alternate versions by the best in the business: from the dance floor to the killing floor, these interesante interpretations will thrill and excite you and your family in the year of the FIRE HORSE!” – JOHNNY HEALTH

Following the release of their sixth studio album CONFLICT DLC last year, HEALTH are showing no signs of slowing down. Now, the band have released R-TYPE 1, the first in a series of remix EPs that compliment and expand the universe the band created on CONFLICT DLC. Listen/share here: https://i.hlth.band/healthr-type1.

CONFLICT DLC resonated far and wide, receiving praise from the likes of Pitchfork, DIY, Kerrang, Revolver and many more around its release last December. The album is a stack of 12 full-octane industrial metal songs, that sees HEALTH continue to explore deep existential undercurrents through a borderless genre lens. A slate of sad bangers for the end times, CONFLICT DLC finds connection in the disconnect and comfort in the dark.

HEALTH’s unapologetically heavy sound has always pulsed with an electronic undercurrent. Since the bands’ earliest days, they have consistently broadened their sonic world through remixes and reinterpretations of their work, and R-TYPE 1 is no exception. Bringing in artists such as EKKSTACY, Mothica, Street Sex, HVDES and others, the release builds on the originals to carve out an entirely new dimension within the CONFLICT DLC landscape.

Having toured across the US, Mexico and South America last year with Pierce The Veil, HEALTH are ready to take their new show on their own co-headline tour next month across North America with Carpenter Brut before heading to Europe for festivals this summer and then Australia in September to tour with Perturbator and King Yosef.

The band will be unleashing their apocalyptic energy on stages throughout the continent, transforming each show into a visceral, full-body experience. Known for channeling chaos into catharsis, their performances fuse crushing riffs, sweeping electronics, and an intensity so consuming it feels more like a ritual than a concert.

Ruby Fields announces Small Achievements album & national tour, alongside new single ‘Muscle’

Hailing from the suburbs of Sydney’s South Coast, singer, songwriter and modern-day storyteller, Ruby Fields, writes catchy indie-rock riffs and lyrics that are so self-aware and relatable that they cut deep. Her sophomore album, Small Achievements, expands on this signature sound with some deeper themes and grittier, guitar-driven production layered with raw, anthemic hooks and moments of stripped-back vulnerability, which she’ll perform live around the country this April and May.

Small Achievements at its core represents the last four years of Fields life in the NSW’s Northern Rivers, where she lived through COVID, intense floods, breakups, death, the band falling apart and picking up the pieces again, falling in love and connecting with the environment through the beauty of the local surrounds and community.

Following on from singles ‘92 Purebred’, ‘Half the Laugh’ and ‘Tacklebox’, Fields says of the album’s fourth single, “‘Muscle’ is an ode to my life in the Northern Rivers. The role of fear and of love in community and in the natural environment. I also know we have crocodiles in Australia, but you try rhyming crocodiles with indicators.”

LISTEN TO ‘MUSCLE’

On the album title, Fields explains “Working at the Nudge (Billinudgel Hotel) between touring meant becoming a part of the family and getting to know Sharky – a beloved patron and piece of the furniture. When he received his Hole-in-1 trophy from the local golf course it was immediately displayed behind the bar. To me, that small gesture represents a place that celebrates everyone’s achievements, it doesn’t really matter how big or small they are, just how much they mean to you. So, I want this album to be a reminder to celebrate shit, because we tend to focus on the next big thing without reflecting on how much we’ve already achieved.”

RUBY FIELDS ‘SMALL ACHIEVEMENTS’ IS OUT FRI 24 APRIL

Proudly presented by triple j, Ruby Fields will take Small Achievements on the road, performing songs from the album, as well as her much loved hits. It’s easy to see why people started paying attention back in 2017 when Ruby Fields uploaded her debut single ‘I Want’ to triple j Unearthed and it was played on triple j the very same day. Not long after, Fields break-out song ‘Dinosaurs’ placed at #9 in triple j Hottest 100 (2018), as she was feverishly embraced by fans and industry alike. As a testament to her popularity, she quickly followed that up with further Hottest 100 placements for ‘Pretty Grim’ #61 (2020) and ‘Kitchen’ #58 (2021), as well as performing iconic triple j Like A Version covers of The Church’s ‘The Unguarded Moment’ (2019) and The Cure’s ‘Lovesong’ (2025).

Known for her witty, authentic banter and electric live sets, Fields has toured the country twenty times over, playing sold-out headline shows and performing alongside contemporaries Hockey Dad, Ocean Alley, Ball Park Music and San Cisco. Internationally, Fields has also performed in London and at The Great Escape in Brighton, UK.

Fields has delivered some of her most memorable performances at festivals, famously playing a rock n roll cover of Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ in front of 20,000 people at Splendour In The Grass, as well as playing to a packed crowd at Laneway Festival in 2019 which was recorded for triple j’s Live At The Wireless. More recently, Fields has taken the stage at Party In The Paddock in Tassie and triple j’s One Night Stand in Busselton, where the crowd sang-along to fan-favourites ‘Half The Laugh’, ‘Dinosaurs’ and more.

Ruby Fields has received many accolades over the years, which is no small achievement. Most notably, Fields scored a #1 ARIA for her debut album Been Doin’ It For A Bit (2021), beating the likes of Drake and Lil Nas X. The album also received a J Award nomination for ‘Australian Album of the Year’, as well as Rolling Stone’s ‘Best Record’, which included a coveted live performance at the Rolling Stone Awards. Proving an enduring love for the song, Fields’ hit ‘Dinosaurs’ was also Certified Platinum in Australia and she was nominated for ‘Best Rock Work’ at the APRA Music Awards.

Now, Fields is gearing up to release her second album, Small Achievements, scheduled for release on Fri 24 April, ahead of performing the album and her much-loved hits across Australia throughout April and May. When she’s not on the road, you’ll find her building and repairing guitars in a shed on the South Coast, totally ensconced in the beauty of the details.

NATHAN ZAHRA RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE ‘MEMORY GIRL’

Rising indie/hip-hop artist NATHAN ZAHRA continues his ascent with the release of his new single, ‘MEMORY GIRL’.

Following on from a string of tracks in 2025 that established his presence as an artist to watch coming out of Melbourne’s scene, ‘MEMORY GIRL’ is a perfect step forward for the songwriter and artist as he prepares for a brand new year of sounds and creative moves.

Like his singles ‘WE SHOULDN’T’, ‘TIL THE SUN’ and ‘DOING BETTER’, the latest from NATHAN ZAHRA demonstrates a keen balance of intimate songwriting and engaged delivery. Navigating threads of different genre influences, the listener is able to join him as he reflects on the complexities of relationships we have throughout our lives and the impact they have.

“‘MEMORY GIRL’ is about being okay with the fact that some things in life are temporary. Just because something has an expiry date doesn’t make it any less special. The song reflects on how life moves in eras and phases, and how change is really the only constant.

‘MEMORY GIRL’ came together really naturally. I was just messing around like I usually do, kind of unconsciously expressing whatever was going on at the time. Life was moving fast, then I slowed down for a second, and the hook just came out from humming it.” NATHAN ZAHRA

For the music video, NATHAN ZAHRA teamed up with director DYLAN EAGLE and cinematographer DARCY MICHELL, bringing the story and themes to life in a way that keeps the essence of ‘MEMORY GIRL’ at the fore. Filming out in Olinda, South East Melbourne, ZAHRA describes the video as “a slightly humorous take on a series of unfortunate events. At its core, it’s about trying to move forward while still being followed by reminders of the past. We leaned into that chaos in a light way, and honestly, it was one of the most fun shoots I’ve done – I got to tap into my acting side a bit. Plus, I haven’t shared this much, but it’s also kind of inspired by a true story.”

Prior to reemerging as Nathan Zahra in 2025 with debut single ‘DOING BETTER’, Zahra spent time working under the name Nate Vibrations – earning praise from all corners of the industry in the process. He was featured by the likes of Music Feeds, Scenestr, VICE, MILKY and more; has previously opened up for US artist Xavier Wulf – and in 2025 he was inducted into the Converse Allstar Class alongside the release of ‘DOING BETTER’.

ACCLAIMED GUITARIST MATEUS ASATO UNVEILS DEBUT ALBUM, ASATO

A VIVID SONIC TRAVELOGUE INSPIRED BY THE LANDSCAPES OF HIS ANCESTRAL HOME OF JAPAN –

Brazilian guitarist Mateus Asato shares his debut album ASATO – listen. For over a decade, Asato has been one of the most influential voices in modern guitar, yet his debut album, ASATO, represents a beginning far more profound than a simple collection of songs. It is a sonic reclamation of his name, his heritage, and his confidence to be his own frontman.

The title is no coincidence. For Asato, his surname was once a source of childhood friction—a marker of “otherness” that often replaced his identity in the eyes of peers. Today, ASATO stands as a proud affirmation of his Japanese ancestry. The seeds for the project were sown during a transformative 2017 trip to Japan, an experience that shifted Mateus’s perspective from being a premier sideman (Bruno Mars, Jessie J, Tori Kelly, Silk Sonic) to a definitive solo artist.

Spanning ten years of creative evolution, the album captures the puzzle pieces of Mateus’s identity. The tracklist travels from the earliest compositions like 2014’s “Change” to the final studio captures of “HENDRIX” and “Goodbye,” written precisely on December 14th, 2024. The result is a vivid sonic travelogue inspired by the landscapes of Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido and his ancestral home of Okinawa.

The music itself defies the pressure to conform. In a world that often told him instrumental music was “missing something” without lyrics, Mateus explores the depths of melodic conversation. From the high-energy bursts of “Kyoto’s Jam” to the peaceful, spiritual resonance of his acoustic work, ASATO utilizes the guitar as a vessel for complex emotions that words often fail to capture.

“Sometimes the point of a message is its own subjectivity,” Mateus says. “Like an abstract painting with no description.” After twenty years with the guitar as his closest companion, ASATO is not just a debut; it is the sound of a musician finally arriving exactly where he is meant to be.

navy june Unleash Smouldering Alt-Rock Energy On New Single ‘mister’

Bold, dark and seductive, Western Australia’s navy june kick 2026 with their smouldering alternative rock / indie single, ‘mister’, out now  Stream ‘mister’

For the unacquainted, this Boorloo/Perth-based five-piece have been building their contribution to WA’s local noise since 2024, supporting the likes of Old Mervs, Great Gable, Fool Nelson, Cheeky Leash, Death By Denim, Sophian, Ruby Hoo and Devon Street.

Blending the grit of grunge with the warmth of soul, their two previous singles have showcased a sound that channels the nostalgic energy of the 1990s while reimagining it for the present day.

Now, they push and pull with the ominous ‘mister’. Opening with space, phased guitar lines and a steady rhythm section set the mood as Ruby Barton-Taylor’s dulcet vocals float with clarity and confidence. Carrying a poised calm and a sense of enchantment, navy june build suspense through a biting pre-chorus.

When the chorus lands, that restraint gives way as a wall of overdriven guitar crashes in, while Ruby’s clean, commanding vocals cut through with power and control. Swirling, panned guitar solos fill the frame, giving ‘mister’ a smouldering intensity that feels deliberate and spellbinding.

Felt through its grit and bite, ‘mister’ leans into confrontation and self-assurance, exploring what it means to speak plainly when respect is no longer offered. The song pushes through the heartbreak with defiance, allowing the honesty to cut deeper. As vocalist Ruby Barton-Taylor explains:

“Mister is about being unapologetic in your opinions of someone. Being honest and raw when someone is cruel to you. It explores ideas of heartbreak while still being empowered, truthful and sexy.”

With plenty on their mind and no shortage of feelings to share, The Great Emu War Casualties continue to build on a catalogue that has been steadily growing since their inception in 2019.

With three EPs already behind them, the band move into album territory with a blunt and honest reflection on life so far, delivered through their lucid art-rock and indie pop blend, marked by bright melodies, restless rhythms and sharply observant lyricism. Frontman Joe Jackson states:

“This album is a self-assessment of my own behaviour over an extended period of time and the various ways in which I have affected the people closest to me, so I’ve at least tried to make it catchy in order to better live with myself. It’s about the clarity I’ve found in going back to basics, in trying to remove the chaos and noise of the world in favour of honesty. An anthemic apology, with some ‘sorry, not sorry’ sprinkled on top. I am sorry though, really.”

Serving as the first taste of the debut album, ‘Donut’ captures The Great Emu War Casualties at their most open. Bright and peppy on the surface, the track moves with a steady, driving pulse, carried by chiming guitars, clean melodic lines and a warm, forward-moving rhythm section that recalls classic indie pop in its most earnest form. There is an easy momentum to the song, upbeat and sunlit, even as the lyrics begin to unravel longings, regrets and half-formed dreams.

Light on its feet yet emotionally loaded, ‘Donut’ sets the tone for a record that embraces honesty, humour and the uncomfortable work of trying to grow up, even when the answers are still out of reach.

With ‘Donut’, The Great Emu War Casualties open the door to ‘Public Sweetheart No. 1’, a debut album full of apologies, admissions and catchy attempts at self-improvement. ‘Donut’ is out now with the album landing Friday, March 27.

LUCA BRASI HIT THE ROAD FOR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF PIVOTAL ALBUM

CELEBRATING TEN YEARS OF IF THIS IS ALL WE’RE GOING TO BE

Aussie rock mainstays Luca Brasi will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their landmark 2016 album If This Is All We’re Going To Be with a national tour this May and June, alongside a limited gold vinyl repress.

Ten years ago, If This Is All We’re Going To Be landed in our lives. It soundtracked sharehouses, long drives, messy breakups, big wins, small losses and the kind of nights that blur into early mornings.

Originally released in 2016, the record marked a turning point for Luca Brasi. The songwriting cut deeper, the hooks hit harder, and the connection between band and audience sharpened into something undeniable. Songs that felt intensely personal quickly became communal – shouted choruses, sweat-soaked floors and a sense of belonging that has followed the band from the very beginning.

The album marked their first appearance on the ARIA Album Chart, landed Anything Near Conviction in the triple j Hottest 100 and pushed the band onto bigger stages nationally and internationally. Festival appearances at Laneway, Splendour in the Grass and Falls followed. Tours alongside Alexisonfire, Violent Soho and PUP put them in front of more people than ever before, but the spirit of the early days never shifted.

This May and June, they return to the road to celebrate 10 years of ITIAWGTB, bringing those songs back to where they’ve always made the most sense: the stage. The place where the choruses are loudest, the floors shake a little, and everyone sings like it’s theirs.

If you were there in 2016, you’ll want to be there again. Ten years on, this isn’t just a tour,  it’s a return to the songs that shaped a band and the people who grew alongside them.

LØLØ. POP ROCK POWERHOUSE UNLEASHES FIERCE NEW SINGLE  the punisher

FROM SOPHOMORE ALBUM god forbid a girl spits out her feelings ARRIVING APRIL 17

STREAM THE NEW TRACK + PRE-SAVE THE LP HERE
WATCH THE VISUALIZER HERE

Pop-rock force LØLØ has released her biting new single, the punisher, a new offering from her forthcoming sophomore album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings, (pre-save HERE) arriving April 17 via Fearless Records.

Following the momentum of latest single 007, this fresh release pushes the artist’s emotional candor and alt-rock intensity even further, sharpening the edges of the diaristic world she continues to build. LØLØ’s vocal performance teeters between controlled restraint and explosive release, embodying the song’s emotional whiplash.

LØLØ commented, “‘the punisher’ is about that sick twisted ritual we all do after a breakup: stalking your ex on the internet (and their new girlfriend…and her sister…and her sister’s boyfriend…and yes, even the new girlfriend’s sister’s dog) even though you KNOW it’s going to ruin your entire day. I wrote it during a moment where I caught myself doing exactly that. As I continued to piece together my ex’s new life through photos on the internet, I couldn’t understand why I felt addicted to punishing myself. It was almost like some part of me weirdly enjoyed it, as I found myself looking forward to checking in almost every day, playing his new life out in my head.”

She continued, “I guess there’s something weirdly fascinating about knowing exactly where to find your sore spot, and pressing on it anyway. Don’t tempt me with a good time!”.

Stream the punisher here

the punisher also deepens the narrative of radical honesty that defines the anticipated 13-track LP. Where LØLØ’s debut album wrestled with the desire to numb emotions out, this new era finds LØLØ embracing every inconvenient, messy, and intrusive thought in real time. The upcoming project strips things back sonically while amplifying her storytelling, sharp-tongued humor, unfiltered emotion, and the fearless self-expression that has become her signature. In addition to today’s new song debut, the album will also feature pre-released fan favorites, the devil wears converseamerican zombie, and me with no shirt on.

With over 150M+ global streams, high-profile collaborations with Simple Plan and Maggie Lindemann, and performances at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Sad Summer, Slam Dunk, Download, Rock Am Ring, Warped Tour, and more, LØLØ continues to carve out her lane as one of the most compelling, confessional voices in modern pop-rock.

She will showcase this on-stage as she embarks on her headline tour across Europe and the U.K. this year, commencing April 25 in Vienna, Austria and wrapping in Birmingham, U.K. on May 13. Thereafter, LØLØ will return to the Warped Tour stages, playing stops in Washington, D.C., Long Beach, Montreal, and Mexico City.

About LØLØ:
LØLØ’s journey began long before she became the pop-rock force we know today, with 150M+ global streams under her belt. Growing up with an eclectic CD collection, she picked up the guitar at a young age and never looked back. Emerging in 2018, she gained a devoted following with heartfelt lyrics and catchy pop-rock melodies. With three EPs, Sweater Collection (2019), overkill (2021), and debbie downer (2022), she made waves, especially with her cover of Dancing in the Dark (29M Spotify streams) and u turn me on (but u give me depression) (16M streams). Her 2024 debut album, falling for robots and wishing I was one is a glimpse into her mind, blending personal experiences with her signature alt-rock sound. In 2025, LØLØ’s three singles – the vulnerable me with no shirt on, the heartfelt (yet, a little twisted) american zombie, and tongue-in-cheek the devil wears converse, – underscored her dynamic narrative voice, giving fans a taste of what’s to come with her sophomore album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings, out April 17, 2026 via Fearless Records.

ANDY JANS-BROWN & CAMERON SPIKE-PORTER ‘SUNSET OR SUNRISE’ (SINGLE)

Sunset or Sunrise is the second single and film clip from the forthcoming album Airport Departure Lounge; a propulsive indie-rock track that races forward like a fast train running straight through the heart of the listener. It asks a simple question: are we heading for a crash, the start of something new, or somehow both? Should we run, or should we dance?

The song surges with urgency, yet the vocal delivery remains restrained and sombre, creating a tension between motion and emotion. The days feel long, but a lifetime passes in a blink.

With Sunset or Sunrise, Jans-Brown once again stretches the frame of the three-minute pop song, smuggling big ideas into a fast, hook-driven form. Beneath the rush lies a deeper exploration of love, identity, and the uneasy space between who we are and who we perform ourselves to be for lovers, for crowds, for the promise of belonging. The song circles the absurdity of wanting to be loved “for who we are,” while simultaneously shaping ourselves to meet the expectations of others.

That same tension plays out in the accompanying film clip, a darkly comic allegory set at a beachside dinner table at sunset. Jans-Brown sings directly to camera while friends around him laugh, drink, and enjoy themselves. A dishevelled waiter, played by Spike-Porter, becomes increasingly rude, intrusive, and unhinged, disrupting the gathering as tensions rise and the scene collapses into chaos; a pointed mirror to the social fragmentation and finger-pointing of our current political moment. By the final chorus, Jans-Brown becomes both witness and scapegoat, the silent observer who absorbs the fallout, covered in food like a Jackson Pollock canvas as the song reaches its crescendo.

In keeping with the broader themes of Airport Departure Lounge, Sunset or Sunrise inhabits that same liminal space beneath harsh fluorescent lights; a waiting room between endings and beginnings, where reflection is unavoidable and certainty is impossible. The song leaves its central question unresolved, capturing the feeling of standing at a threshold, unsure whether what lies ahead is nightfall or dawn.

ANDY JANS-BROWN

Andy Jans-Brown is a prolific Australian artist working across music, film, theatre, and visual art. Across a decades-long career, he has built a body of work defined by emotional honesty, poetic insight, and a deep engagement with the social and psychological currents shaping contemporary life.

His four previous double albums; Letting Go! (2012), Sunshine Avenue (2014), Hell is Light (2018), and Falling (2024) have earned critical praise and a dedicated international following. He has shared stages with artists including Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Phil Jamieson, Portugal. The Man, and The Preatures.

In 2018, Jans-Brown released Hell is Light, a darkly comic arthouse project that fused album and feature film to explore addiction and recovery in coastal Australia. The film won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Original Soundtrack at the 2019 Pinnacle Film Awards and screened at the Blow-Up International Arthouse Film Festival in Chicago.

An accomplished actor and theatre-maker, Andy’s work spans stage and screen, alongside a strong commitment to community-based arts practice. As a songwriter, filmmaker, playwright, and poet, Andy Jans-Brown continues to create work that shines a light on the unseen, the unheard, and the beautifully broken, in a reflection that shimmers and resonates, offering some solace in connection, and meaning in uncertain times.

SAVANAH SOLOMON RETURNS WITH HOPE FILLED NEW SINGLE
‘SOMEDAY SOMEWHERE’ + ANNOUNCES FORTHCOMING SHOW DATES

Fresh from a run of national support slots and festival stages, Western Australia’s own Savanah Solomon returns with ‘Someday Somewhere’ – an earthy and honest release that meets life’s hard seasons with uplift and unwavering spirit.

The song was born from a deeply personal chapter. “I wrote this song during a trying time in my life as a song of hope, that ‘Someday Somewhere’ good things will come,” confesses the singer-songwriter. “It was a reminder for myself that by being true to myself, sticking to my values and working hard, life will work itself out.”

Produced by Josh Dyson at Villa Studio, ‘Someday Somewhere’ leans into moody acoustic textures, allowing Savanah’s evocative vocal to sit front and centre.

“It was such a pleasure working with producer Josh Dyson at Villa Studio once again. He really believes in my music and does such a wonderful job of elevating my music without ever changing the heart of my work.”

The accompanying music video – produced by Emma Smart Videography – was filmed at Moore River, Western Australia, Savanah’s home. Equal parts playful and heartfelt, it captures her warmth beyond the microphone.

“Shooting this music video was honestly the most fun I have had in a long time. I hope it brings you as much laughter and joy as it did for everyone involved that afternoon. Emma Smart did such a wonderful job encapsulating my vision.”

Already making waves, ‘Someday Somewhere’ was nominated in the Top 5 for Blues and Roots Song of the Year at the 2025 West Australian Music Awards ahead of its official release.

In 2024, Savanah was crowned Emerging Artist of the Year at the Western Australian Country Music Awards and was a 2025 Nominee for WAM Regional Artist of the Year. Her previous single ‘Magnolias’ reached #3 on the AMRAP Charts, receiving national airplay and praise – “Savanah Solomon will stop you in your tracks with her impeccable vocal that channels the spirit of Australian folk. Chills!” – Kath Devaney, ABC Country.

In 2025 she opened for Wheatus on their Australian Acoustic Tour, supported Kingswood on their Midnight Mavericks Tour, and joined Austin Mackay on his Chasing the Wheel Tour in Fremantle.

While already a veteran of the WA festival scene – Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, Beerfarm Rodeo, Fremantle Winter Music Festival, Shinju Matsuri Festival and more – 2025 saw Savanah light up her first interstate festival stage at Newport Folk Festival in Melbourne –  “It was the best experience; it was a beautifully intimate festival that centred on community and connection, and I left the festival feeling nourished in so many ways.”

Steadily building a loyal audience drawn to her emotional honesty and grounded storytelling, Savanah is gearing up for another massive year, with performances at Nannup Music Festival and Playmakers Festival. “I am so excited for this upcoming tour, performing at my favourite West Australian Festivals, as well as my favourite regional towns in the Southwest.”

From the red plains of the Kimberley to the windswept coastlines of Moore River, Savanah Solomon writes with place in her bones and hope in her hands. ‘Someday Somewhere’ is not just a promise of brighter days – it’s a reminder that even in the heaviest seasons, there is light ahead.

“This song is for anyone that is going through a rough time or needs a little pick me up to keep on going. Hopefully it reminds you that the journey, no matter how hard, is the best part – and that we are all in it together.”

The Velvet Club wear their heart on their sleeve on emotional rollercoaster ‘Blue’ plus B-Side ‘This Time’. Touring this March including dates in Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne

Ahead of their eagerly anticipated east coast tour this month, Naarm indie outfit The Velvet Club have today revealed another slice of their exciting new era. Their vulnerable, upbeat new single ‘Blue’ and accompanying B-side track ‘This Time’ are out now, with ‘Blue’ joined by a striking music video directed by filmmaker Nikola Jokanovic. Stream ‘Blue’ / ‘This Time’ HERE and watch the music video HERE.

‘Blue’ is the perfect juxtaposition, balancing a bright and nostalgic instrumental with emotional lyrics that touch on the wake of a relationship breakdown, and the rollercoaster of emotions that come with it. As frontman AJ Tilyard says, it’s about “Loving little moments with someone, whilst also feeling an overpowering sense of dread and sadness that things are no longer the same in the relationship.

“Blue was written at a time when I was going through a big breakup, but at the same time feeling so much love from my closest friends,” AJ continues. “The song came together so quickly just playing a guitar in my room and singing how I was feeling at the time. It’s a super simple song, but I think that’s what makes it.”

Filmed in various locations around Melbourne’s inner north, the music video for ‘Blue’ brings to life the song’s live appeal through a series of different techniques, from filming on digicams to using slide film photos to break up the clip. “Nikola is amazing. It was fun to film with everyone and pretend to be the Beatles for a second.”

Recorded with Luke Thomas (Fan Girl, Harris, World’s Best Neighbours) at Taste Police in Brunswick, ‘Blue’ is the second release from a larger body of work due out later this year, and follows the band’s November release ‘Anything’ / ‘It Will Never Be Enough’ (B-side). ‘Blue’ was mixed by Scott Hoorscroft (DMA’s, Middle Kids, DZ Deathrays) and mastered by George Georgiadis (The Rions, The Buoys, Teenage Dads).

As The Velvet Club enter a new era inspired by the indie bands they grew up with – from The Strokes to The Smiths – the band are excited to let listeners further into their creative process, releasing B-side tracks alongside each single. ‘Blue’ arrives with B-side ‘This Time’, a heartwrenching and raw acoustic song that captures the first moments of realisation that things are coming to an end in a relationship. “It can be a really confusing and debilitating time, and the song really focuses on that period of inner questioning around what’s best for both people.”

It wasn’t just international artists that influenced this new chapter of The Velvet Club. AJ also found himself looking to his Australian peers for inspiration, particularly within the local Melbourne scene – bands like The Belair Lip Bombs, Radio Free Alice, and sleepazoid. “I feel very lucky to call these bands friends and to watch them take over the world has been so inspiring to me, with the style of music they’re making, the level of songwriting they’re all producing, and the shows they’ve been putting on in the same suburbs we frequent in Melbourne.”

Following a whirlwind couple of years packed with festival appearances, national tours, and busy release schedules, the band emerged from a much-needed break in late 2025. Reflecting on that period, AJ says he had found himself feeling burnt out, and needing time to rest and reset. While switching gears, AJ tried to force himself to focus outside of music, only to find himself writing more music in that timeframe than he had ever written before. Without the real or perceived pressure of making a record, the songs came naturally, resulting in some of their most authentic tracks to date.

The Jungle Giants will be supported by The Tullamarines and Tear Drive. Full dates below.

JESS DALE ‘THE WIND AND THE RAIN’ (SINGLE)

I wrote this song after reading Yeat’s poem “Mad as the mist and snow” which is about a man sheltering inside, reflecting that the world outside is mad, and basically giving up. I liked the premise because, yes, absolutely: the world outside is mad. Especially right now. Sometimes you need to turn off your phone and curl up in a ball. But that doesn’t mean you’re giving up. You recover and then go back outside; try to make the world better.

I recorded the song with producer Ryan Brennan and musicians Luke and Ryan Dux and Todd Pickett (best known for playing in Perth band The Kill Devil Hills.)

ABOUT JESS DALE
Jess Dale is an Australian singer-songwriter known for her classic, Americana-tinged songwriting and strong live performances. She’s played in bands across Australia and the UK, most recently the Jess Dale Band in Sydney.

Her songs have received radio play on triple j, ABC Country and Canadian public radio, with Leaving Woman’s Blues reaching  #3 on the Triple J Unearthed charts.

Dale was a finalist in the inaugural Australian Americana Awards and her songwriting was shortlisted for the International Songwriting Award in the Americana category. In 2026 she will be releasing her debut album, As Fire Lit Up the Sky.

Kim says of the new single, “Freudian Slippers, like all of the songs from the upcoming Totally Sick album from Smoked Salmon is another of those songs that got lost on the way ‘upstream’!  It first appeared on the 2014 release from Kim and Leanne, True West. Kim and Leanne was conceived by Kim with Michael Stranges as a project to feature Leanne Cowie the Scientists drummer alongside Kim.

“Kim and Michael had been working under the guise of Precious Jules and this is essentially a PJs (as they liked to call themselves) production.

“Michael had the riff and Kim spontaneously sang ‘went to see my shrink and she said what do you think’ as a melody place holder over it. He joked that that it was a Freudian slip to sing such a line and Stranges, in true Stranges form, touchéd with the phrase ‘Freudian slippers’, and voilà!  They went to work, nèe play, on it.  K&L’s rendering tends toward the heavy Led Zep side of things whereas Smoked Salmon bring out some of the Prince style pop funk that was always hidden in the song.

“Speaking of hidden, the B-side ‘Seein’ Spots’ is another Precious Jules’ hidden gem dug up and polished by Smoked Salmon.”

SMOKED SALMON…

The name Smoked Salmon was begging to be used! Kim Salmon had been ignoring it for decades but finally gave in after being called on for a benefit for the Firefighters at the start of 2020. Smoked Salmon came to be the players stationed over in the west, in France, up in NSW and handy in his hometown Melbourne whenever he needed a band. And who doesn’t need a band? He could play shows most anywhere! He could even take an ensemble into a studio under the banner of Smoked Salmon – which he eventually did.

Smoked Salmon is a concept, a collection of recordings, a collective, a philosophy of least resistance flowing from a reputation for resolutely going against the stream! Wait a minute! Least resistance? Against the stream? Here’s the clincher. You can do both!  Kim still has the desire to go upstream but has found a great source of new repertoire fishing in the streams from whence such classics as “Frantic Romantic”, “Last Night”, “Dropout”, “Come On Spring” and “Swampland” sprang!

KIM SALMON… Art School dropout, seminal punk rocker, and living legend.

Born into the isolation of the semi-industrial wastelands of 1950s outer suburban Perth, Kim Salmon clawed his way out of the swamp and onto the world stage in his bands, the Scientists, the Surrealists, and the Beasts of Bourbon.

Conjuring the nascent snarls of antipodean punk rock in the late 1970’s, Salmon formed the Cheap Nasties at the very crest of the wave, simultaneously making seminal punk music in far flung Perth as the Saints were in Brisbane, Radio Birdman in Sydney and Nick Cave with the Boys Next Door in Melbourne. When the Cheap Nasties split asunder, Kim formed the Scientists, adding explosive pop to the punk raunch.

As the 80’s dawned, Salmon rematerialized in Sydney with a new line-up of the Scientists, and a new sound was born. Dark, primitive, swampy, demented – this was punk, rock n roll, psychobilly and blues all at once – but it was something new too. In the early 90’s Seattle based Grunge would sell millions of records worldwide. In Australia, over a decade earlier, Grunge was simply the noise of the Scientists.

Often referred to as “The Godfather of Grunge” he is cited as a seminal influence on countless bands including Mudhoney, Nirvana, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The White Stripes, Sonic Youth, The Drones and Spacemen 3. Internationally acclaimed, Kim Salmon has played with the likes The Stooges, Television, Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds, The Cramps, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Pop Group and even U2.

Kim Salmon has earned his reputation as an authentic artist incapable of choosing the safe road. For nearly fifty years, he has performed on the world’s biggest stages and with the most remote punk bands; traversing every corner of music and art to create a body of work that stands up with the best.

Kim Salmon is not slowing down.

In recent years he has reignited the legendary Scientists, releasing singles, an EP and full-length album with the classic mark 2 line up – touring nationally as well as America and Europe.

The Beasts (nee Beasts of Bourbon) have completed barnstorming national tours and released a new album.

With the Surrealists, Kim composed, performed and recorded a double album live on camera during the height of the pandemic.

Celebrating his fallen comrades, Kim has written and performed his Haunted Grooves show combining storytelling, songs and pictures – capturing the emotional tales and performances in a soon to be released double LP.

With his latest band, Smoked Salmon, he has toured Europe and Japan – combining classic moments from across his career with a soon-to-be-released album of brand-new original songs.

Despite being the original art school dropout, Kim has turned his younger predilection for drawing into a burgeoning visual art career, with several solo and joint exhibitions and a successful artist in residence sojourn in WA.
