HANNAH ACFIELD ‘I Got You’ (Single)
Hannah Acfield blends the emotional grit of soul with the storytelling of folk and the luminous textures of gospel. 2025 sees the acclaimed Melbourne-based singer-songwriter introduce “I Got You” — a moving and intimate ballad that showcases her soaring voice and cinematic songwriting. The song is the first single from her upcoming album “Golden Light” – due for release August 22, 2025.
“I wrote this for a couple of friends who were going through tough times,” says Hannah. “It’s not always easy to ask for help — and I wanted to say, ‘I’m here for you, even when you can’t say it out loud’.”
Acfield continues “The state of the world feels overwhelming at the moment, so I wanted the first song from the album to be something uplifting, and “I Got You” is a reminder of what matters most to me — connection and community.”
“I love harmonies, and I heard the backing vocals when I wrote it, but I’m not someone who approaches harmonies from a technical perspective — I like to explore ideas in my home studio and keep layering until it feels right.” The final recording features three vocalists Hannah knew would blend beautifully – Chrissi Deralas, Eddie Fitzpatrick & Tim Wamala — chosen for their shared timbre and vibrato. “They’d never sung together before, but the first time they did was in the studio — and it was magic. We recorded the harmonies live, all in the room together, which gave it a beautiful energy.”
“I Got You” follows the success of Hannah’s previous releases, including “No Light Without Shade” (“A triumph of talent” – The Australian / “Extraordinary voice” – The Courier Mail) and “Live at The Aviary”, and builds on Acfield’s growing international following in both Europe and the US.‘I Got You’ is out now.
Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Hannah Acfield returns in 2025 with a new studio album “Golden Light”. Described by The Weekend Australian as “a triumph of talent,” and praised by Joan Armatrading for her “beautiful voice,” Hannah blends the emotional grit of soul with the storytelling of folk and the luminous textures of gospel. Her sound sits comfortably alongside artists like Lianne La Havas, Linda Ronstadt, and Emily King—organic, heartfelt, and steeped in connection.
An established presence in the Australian music scene, Hannah’s debut solo album No Light Without Shade (2021) marked a turning point, landing at #20 on the AIR charts and earning widespread acclaim. She followed it with Live at The Aviary (2023), a one-take live album and film showcasing her dynamic vocal command. Earlier in her career, she released two solo EPs under her own name, and was also part of sibling folk duo The Acfields, with whom she released two albums and an EP.
Hannah has toured extensively throughout Australia and performed internationally in the UK and Ireland, appearing at festivals including the National Folk Festival, Nannup Music Festival, Perthshire Amber (Scotland), Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival, and more. She has supported Joan Armatrading, Liz Stringer and The Meltdown. As a soloist with the Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir, she performed at Falls Festival and Port Fairy Folk Festival—receiving a standing ovation for her gospel solo in front of 5,000 people.
Hannah has also showcased at major international industry events including Folk Alliance International (USA) and Focus Wales (UK). Her 2025/26 plans include more touring in Europe and the US.
But before then, Hannah has new music to share. “I Got You”—a soulful, harmony-laced anthem about kindness, care, and standing by the people you love. Wrapped in gospel-infused warmth and delivered with her trademark vocal richness, the single is the first glimpse of a new studio album, “Golden Light.”
Hannah’s music and spirit is grounded in generosity—whether through the rich harmonies she shares with her audience live, or in the quiet strength that radiates from songs like “I Got You.” It’s this blend of emotional honesty, vocal mastery, and community connection that continues to earn her new fans everywhere she performs.
SLEEP TOKEN UNVEILS FINAL SINGLE, DAMOCLES AHEAD OF FORTHCOMING ALBUM EVEN IN ARCADIA, OUT MAY 9
Sleep Token releases Damocles, the final single from their upcoming album, Even In Arcadia, out May 9 via RCA Records / Sony Music Australia. The track delves into the quiet unraveling beneath the surface—where grandeur fades and unspoken battles take center stage. With their signature blend of mystique and vulnerability, Damocles captures the weight of unseen struggle and the haunting echo of former glory, inviting listeners to confront what lies beneath the mask.
As the last preview before the album’s release, Damocles sets the emotional tone for Even In Arcadia—a record that navigates identity, inner eclipse, and transcendence with cinematic intensity. The album is expected to push the boundaries of sound and emotion even further, dissolving into something otherworldly. With momentum driven by previous singles Emergence and Caramel—both of which debuted in the top 40 in the ARIA singles chart and cracked the Billboard Hot 100 and hit No. 1 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart—the band has made history as one of only three artists to replace themselves at the top of the chart since its inception in June 2020. Sleep Token continues to deliver a refined, expansive sonic journey that deepens their exploration of emotional depth and enigmatic storytelling.
In a unique collaboration with Spotify, the official tracklist for Even In Arcadia was recently revealed through a series of intriguing puzzles across various social media platforms. This creative, interactive rollout offered fans an immersive experience as they pieced together the album’s final tracklisting, adding to the anticipation surrounding the record’s release.

SENNA ‘Drunk Dial Anthem’ (Single)
German metalcore band SENNA returns with their explosive new single Drunk Dial Anthem, the latest taste of their highly-anticipated debut album Stranger To Love, out May 23rd via SharpTone Records.
Speaking on the single, the band shares: “You never imagined a time without this person. For reasons beyond your reach they are not part of your life anymore, may it be through circumstances that life throws at you or the sudden realisation that your personalities reshaped each other incompatible. Drunk Dial Anthem captures the exact moment and feeling – something between loneliness, comfort and obsession – where you just want to hear „it‘s fine“ by this very person.”
Following the momentum of previous singles High Note, Rain, Blackout, and Hurricane, Drunk Dial Anthem continues to showcase SENNA’s knack for combining visceral energy with emotional depth. Each track brings listeners closer to the heart of Stranger To Love—a record that navigates the intricacies of identity, connection, and quiet transformation.
Marcel, speaking on the album’s themes, explains: “Stranger To Love is a collection of anecdotes from our own personal lives. These stories are not special in the sense that they are not extraordinary or unique to just us. They’re the kinds of experiences that happen quietly, in everyday moments… What makes these stories meaningful is not that they are special, but that they are real.”

This masterpiece of modern metal masterfully combines melodic death metal with Celtic traditions in a unique production. Eluveitie will hit the road again together with Arch Enemy, Amorphis and Gatecreeper in October 2025.
Eluveitie commented: “And along comes – on this special day – our brand new single and video clip off ANV: TARANOÍAS! It’s the opening track of the album and pretty much wrapping up the entire essence on which the album is based in one single song! It’s quite a hard and dark track and surely one of these roller-coaster-feeling songs, like “Rebirth” or “Aidus”, for instance. What we’ve tried when writing this track is to create a song that in itself becomes some kind of a dark entity that comes upon you with the first note of it! Enjoy the ride!”
About ELUVEITIE:
ELUVEITIE, formed in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann, has consistently merged modern metal with Celtic musical traditions. Originating from the Swiss Alps and deeply rooted in Celtic history, mythology, and spirituality, the band has become a cornerstone of the modern metal scene. Their debut, Vên (2004), set the stage for a unique blend of melodic death metal and traditional folk. Subsequent albums like Slania, Everything Remains (As It Never Was), Helvetios, and Origins solidified their reputation. The acoustic albums Evocation I – The Arcane Dominion and Evocation II – Pantheon showcased their versatility.
In 2022, ELUVEITIE released the singles ‘Aidus’ and ‘Exile of the Gods,’ marking a new chapter in their musical journey and thematical cycle pursuing the lyrical concept opened by their last studio album Ategnatos. JESSIE J ‘No Scretes’ (Single)
BRIT award-winning, multi-platinum selling artist Jessie J makes her highly anticipated return with ‘No Secrets’, her first release in four years. This will be followed by her first single, ‘Living My Best Life’, produced by Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), out Friday, May 16 via Darco Artist Partnerships (D.A.P). Click to stream ‘No Secrets’
‘No Secrets’ is a deeply personal, open invitation into the highs and lows of Jessie J’s life over the past few years. Confronting themes of loss, trauma and the impact of social media, poking fun at oversharing, the single serves as a raw and unfiltered reintroduction to one of the most successful and recognisable voices in British music. Produced by Los Hendrix (SZA, Brent Faiyaz) and Jesse Boykins III, the track sees Jessie J embracing her alt-R&B sound, with her signature powerhouse vocals and soul-baring lyricism commanding attention from the very first heartfelt line.
Jessie J speaking about ‘No Secrets’: “This song is super personal, but I hope it can be relative to anyone’s life. I’m a very honest person; I say it how it is, and I share a lot of things with the world that most people don’t, but always with a little humour. Humour is key – the music has really gotten me through.”
In contrast, ‘Living My Best Life’ is Jessie J’s pure celebration of positivity and joy. The exuberant Tedder throwback ‘Living My Best Life’ came to Jessie J while driving through LA, the best of Whitney and Prince rebounding about her jeep.
On ‘Living My Best Life’ Jessie J says: “I love the sense of moving upwards, so ‘Living My Best Life’ has that same feeling. It feels timeless, classic, 80s. It makes you want to dance.”
Next month, Jessie J is set to play an intimate acoustic headline show at London’s Union Chapel on Tuesday, May 20. This special performance will give fans the first chance to experience her new music live, alongside a selection of fan favourites and her captivating, humorous personality, which has built a strong fan base over the years.

TAJ MAHAL AND KEB’ MO’ – TAJMO – ‘My Darling My Dear’ (Single)
There are many reasons that Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ are known as “standard-bearers in the genre-bending world of folk, blues, soul and Americana” (Billboard) – but particularly powerful is their ability to speak to the moment when listeners need them most. Today, the two legends have returned with “My Darling My Dear,” a new original that embraces the power of love, positivity and unity as a guiding light through the darkness.
“Feel the spirit, warmth and love in this message,” said Taj Mahal of their intentions behind “My Darling My Dear,” the continuation of a philosophy that’s long made Taj “a national treasure” (SPIN). Also at the core of “My Darling My Dear” is the importance of family and community, with Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ bringing in their children (Ahmen Mahal and K. Roosevelt, respectively) to co-write the track with them, alongside singer-songwriter Colin Linden (Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris).
“It was like a party every day,” says five-time GRAMMY winner Keb’ Mo’ of the familial environment in the studio. “We had our sons in there playing with us and all the other musicians and writers were hanging the whole time, so it was a really fun place to be.”
Listen to “My Darling My Dear,” watch the accompanying lyric video and pre-order Room On The Porch here: https://found.ee/TajMo-RoomOnThePorch
“My Darling My Dear” marks the third advance offering from Room On The Porch – following the album’s title track (which features two-time GRAMMY ‘Song Of The Year’ nominee Ruby Amanfu) and the electric blues excellence of “Junkyard Dog.” It’s a collection that finds the legendary pair reuniting for their first release together since 2017, when their debut collaboration TajMo brought them from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (for a stunning performance alongside Jon Batiste) to Marc Maron’s garage to the GRAMMY stage (where they took home Best Contemporary Blues Album). Room On The Porch – which the duo also co-produced together – features more original co-written tracks between them than ever before.
Around the release of Room On The Porch next month, Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ will bring their TajMo live show back on the road – celebrating the new album in over a dozen cities across the United States. These shows will begin with a special appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on May 23 (joined by Amanfu) during the Opry’s year-long 100th anniversary celebrations – before their first headline show together at New York’s Town Hall on May 28. GHOST SKELETÁ OUT NOW. NEW SINGLE PEACEFIELD LIVE NOW
Following what seemed an interminable wait to its global legion of fans, GHOST’s excruciatingly anticipated new album, SKELETÁ, is at long last out, April 25, via Loma Vista Recordings.
The lead up to SKELETÁ’s full release has been punctuated by a cavalcade of world-spanning events that have only elevated the fervor of the album’s exuberant welcome. This week alone witnessed the unveiling of the recorded version of Peacefield, the monolithic anthem opening both the new record and the sold-out arena performances comprising the first leg of the SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2025. The faithful also assembled in full regalia for SKELETÁ-Eve Midnight Sales celebrating the arrival of the band’s sixth psalm at close to 150 record stores around the globe. With demand for the midnight mass events far exceeding the number of suitable physical locations, GHOST’s added live-streamed SKELETÁ Rockin’ Eve event took the invocation of the new offering to devotees in all corners of the world, ensuring that not a single fan was left out of the festivities.
The coming of SKELETÁ was previously heralded by first single Satanized—dubbed a “catchy goth-rock epic” by VICE—and the rapturously received Lachryma—deemed “economical, vicious, and contemporary, but tinged by ‘80s rhapsody” by PASTE and “phantasmagoric” by REVOLVER. Both advance tracks have remained perched atop streaming music and video charts, thanks to GHOST’s singularly passionate following that includes more than 10 million combined Spotify monthly listeners and YouTube subscribers.
As if all of the above was not enough, GHOST’s blockbuster SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2025 opened to overwhelmingly ecstatic critical and popular reception from the moment the first notes of Peacefield filled the AO Arena in Manchester UK with deafening applause on the tour’s April 15 opening night. Featuring the flesh and bone debut of frontman Papa V Perpetua, the SKELETOUR WORLD TOUR 2025 is the most staggeringly ambitious incarnation of the GHOST live ritual to date. Having completed a string of sold out arena shows across the UK, the tour is currently making its way through the European territories, presaging a North American campaign that will begin July 9 in Baltimore and include GHOST’s historic first-ever headlining show at New York’s hallowed Madison Square Garden on July 22. PORTAL Australian Tour, August 15th – 23rd, 2025
With guests BØLZER
PORTAL is a twisted vision, with a multitude of horror scapes seen through a distorted lens of filth. Elaborate darkness weaved into masses of Death Metal in its own antiquity of sonic violence and perpetuating the mythos self-created. The henchmen within this brood pledge to open up it’s gates to feed upon mortal terror, a duty to destroy the senses and sanity.
Preceding the aural trepidation is Switzerland’s BØLZER. An intuitive art project born from raw passion; musical ecstasy fueled by impulsive composition and enactment. BØLZER describe their own stage experience as a form of spiritual rapture, an atavis-tic vortex woven together from the profound union of spectacle meeting spectator on a deeper plane.

ROBERT RANDOLPH ‘Big Women’ (Single)
GRAMMY-Nominated Blues Rock Pedal Steel Powerhouse Robert Randolph Releases Swaggering New Single ‘Big Women’ With a playful black-and-white video, Randolph’s funk-driven groove celebrates the grace, grit, and spirit of strong women
Stream “Big Women” here and preorder Preacher Kids here
After lighting a fire with the thunderous first single “Sinner,” six-time GRAMMY nominee and blues/rock pedal steel firebrand Robert Randolph returns with “Big Women”—a bold and joyful celebration of confidence and power. The second single from Randolph’s forthcoming album Preacher Kids (out June 27 via Civilians in AUS/NZ, and Sun Records rest of world) arrives alongside a black-and-white performance video brimming with swagger and soul.
Rooted in an irresistible guitar riff and driven by an instantly memorable chorus—“Big women got me riding high! Big women make me feel alright!”— the track began as a lap steel jam and a vocal scat idea before evolving into a full-throttle ode to self-possessed women everywhere. Singer-songwriter Judith Hill brought the song home, writing the verses and chorus.
“When we say ‘big,’ we’re talking about strength, confidence, and lived experience,” says Randolph. “Big women have that energy you recognize right away. It’s next-level.”
In the accompanying video, Randolph is seen at his pedal steel and dancing across the set with playful charisma as a group of powerful women join him on screen, strutting and grooving with attitude. The visual captures the spirit of the song — a jubilant, funky homage to strength, style, and presence.
WATCH The Official Music Video for ‘Big Women’ by Rob Randolph
Preacher Kids marks Randolph’s debut on the legendary Sun Records label and was produced by Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker). The album is a raw, roots-driven fusion of gospel, blues, rock, and soul, created alongside an all-star lineup of musicians and guests including Margo Price, Judith Hill, and Tash Neal. Grounded in Randolph’s Sacred Steel church upbringing and elevated by his boundary-pushing musicality, Preacher Kids is a genre-defying celebration of spirit and sound.
Randolph has carved out a singular path in American music, redefining the pedal steel guitar and lending his unmistakable sound to some of the most celebrated recordings and performances of the past two decades. He has worked with a diverse array of artists including Dave Matthews Band, Santana, Norah Jones, Ozzy Osbourne, Eric Clapton, Rob Thomas, Hank Williams Jr., Elton John, Leon Russell, Raphael Saadiq, Robbie Robertson, Taj Mahal, Metallica, and Sheryl Crow. Most recently, he contributed pedal steel to Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter on the tracks “16 Carriages” and “Ya Ya,” and appeared on Jon Batiste’s We Are, which won the GRAMMY for Album of the Year. His work can also be heard on the Elvis movie soundtrack and the Zac Brown Band’s latest tour. For the second year in a row, he returned as the featured musician behind the theme for Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football, and he recently joined Luke Combs for a stirring tribute to Charley Pride on CMT.
Preacher Kids is out June 27 (pre-order the album here). “Big Women” is available now on all digital platforms.

It was met with widespread critical and commercial acclaim at the time of release, also entering the top ten in Finland, Iceland, Ireland and Sweden.
(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, also celebrating its 30th anniversary this October, went on to become a cultural phenomenon, elevating Oasis to massive heights on the global stage. It spawned countless era-defining moments, with ‘Some Might Say’ the starting gun to it all. The single arrived only eight months after the band’s prodigious debut album, Definitely Maybe. In the short intervening period, Oasis were able to capitalise on their initial success, and bring it to new places through the development of their sound. Perth Indie five-piece HAZEL return with new single ‘THE VOID’
With 2024 proving to be a busy debut year for the band, the first half of this year is already looking to be a positive one for Perth’s HAZEL. With ‘The Void’, the indie five-piece deliver their first slice of new music for the year – a rich blend of influences that speak to the band’s ever-growing range.
Recorded at Debaser Studios with Andy Lawson (Noah Dillon, Mitch Santiago), ‘The Void’ is a sharp new entry to the Hazel catalogue. Following on from their debut EP Dreamstate last year, this is a perfect moment of re-entry for the WA group who are becoming ones to watch in their local community and beyond.
Of their new single, Hazel say “‘The Void’ has definitely become one of the band’s favorite tracks we’ve created so far. The way it shifts from moody, introspective verses to a powerful, impactful chorus really draws listeners in—exactly the emotional journey we hoped to create. The style of this track flows naturally between the five of us, making the writing and recording process feel effortless.
Lyrically, the song is told from the perspective of someone watching a loved one navigate the aftermath of loss. It explores the quiet strength in observing their journey—how over time, pain slowly shifts from an open wound to a scar. That grief never fully disappears, but it begins to hurt a little less as time goes on. It’s a reflection on how healing often comes in subtle, silent steps, and how witnessing that growth can be just as powerful as experiencing it yourself.”
Melodic and dynamic, Hazel’s latest is an exciting peek into what is still to come as this year rolls out with planned new projects and shows. Already, the band has proven themselves to be a captivating live unit, locking in shows on the West Coast supporting the likes of Matt Corby, Eskimo Joe, Great Gable and more, while their fanbase has only continued to strengthen with each release.
Having enjoyed sold out shows of their own at venues including Jack Rabbit Slims, The Rosemount Hotel and the Indi Bar, Hazel are preparing to kick things off again for the year with an unmissable single launch for ‘The Void’, taking place at Mojo’s this May, supported by Lazy Haze, Figurehead and Mistica.

TOTALLY UNICORN RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE HARD FEELINGS
Totally Unicorn are back with Hard Feelings, a jagged, anxious anthem written during late nights and long spirals, and recorded over one frenzied weekend at Marrickville’s Golden Retriever Studios with longtime collaborator Jonathan Boulet (Party Dozen, ARSE).
The single lands hot on the heels of the band’s recently announced Hard Feelings East Coast tour, which will see Sydney’s chaos connoisseurs hitting Gadigal (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne), and Meanjin (Brisbane) this May and June.
“This is my anthem for anxiety and sleepless nights,” says frontman Drew Gardner. “The kind of nights where your brain refuses to switch off, replays old conversations on loop, and plots out disaster scenarios just for fun.”
Hard Feelings is the latest in a string of standalone tracks the band has written and recorded over the past few years – city by city, session by session – with no album in sight and no rules to follow. Rather than chase cycles or trends, the band’s goal has been simple, write better songs and push things further. Most of what’s written never leaves the room. But every now and then, a couple of tracks make it out alive – Hard Feelings is one of them. Twisting a few pop culture tropes along the way, it comes out sounding like the evil twin of a song you swear you’ve heard before – messy, loud, and impossible to ignore.
Totally Unicorn’s new clip for Hard Feelings was shot over six months in a run-and-gun style across Sydney’s Inner West – Marrickville, Sydenham, Alexandria, Waterloo. Capturing a version of Sydney that rarely gets screen time, it’s gritty, a little on the nose, and perfectly in step with the song’s themes. More than just a film clip, it’s a time capsule – and a way for the band to keep making art together outside the confines of writing songs.
Hard Feelings is out today on Farmer & The Owl and available on all streaming platforms here.
Totally Unicorn are a chaotic blend of hardcore, noise rock and party. Known for their unhinged live performances, they channel the energy of bands like Pissed Jeans, The Chariot, and Converge, with a touch of humour and wild unpredictability. Equal parts heavy and hilarious, their sets are as much performance art as they are musical onslaught – sweaty, raw, and unforgettable.

Friday 07 June – The Tote (Upstairs) – Naarm / Melbourne

FANNING DEMPSEY NATIONAL PARK RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘KING PUMPKIN’
Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey release a new single ‘King Pumpkin’ today, a bonus song from their lauded debut album The Deluge out now. You can listen to “King Pumpkin‘’ here
Talking about the song, Fanning says, “King Pumpkin opens with a quote borrowed and adapted from author Jonathan Swift. “Falsehood lies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when man came to be undeceived it is too late. It’s a very accurate description of what is transpiring in the political and online sphere worldwide. Deception is apparently now, an attitude.” We loved the idea of putting a sleazy funk backing to this.”
Dempsey shares, “It’s funny how far away it ended up from the original demo which was somewhere in brutalist industrial electronica territory…. All along it was trying to tell us it just wanted to shimmy.”
Watch the official visualiser For ‘King Pumpkin’
The release of ‘King Pumpkin’ arrives as Fanning Dempsey National Park kick off The Deluge Regional Tour tomorrow in Cairns at Tanks Art Centre. The tour will then head to Hobart, Ballarat, Geelong, Bendigo, Newcastle, Thirroul, Canberra, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast, before finishing on the Gold Coast on May 24.
Limited tickets are still available from www.fanningdempseynationalpark.com

‘King Pumpkin’ and The Deluge Regional Tour come off the back of a mammoth start of the year for Fanning Dempsey National Park who opened 2025 with an incredible performance for ABC TV’s NYE24 broadcast then performances on stages across the country for SummerSalt Tour 2025 and Great Southern Nights.

DAISY PRING ‘31ST OF JUNE’ (Single)
Illawarra RNB / pop-princess Daisy Pring is putting a bright new electronic spin on her blissful brand of RNB, returning now with a fresh single titled ‘31st of June’. The new single arrives alongside the announcement of Daisy’s upcoming debut EP, Treading Water, which will be released on Thursday May 8th. ‘31st of June’, which gives listeners a sneak peek into what’s to come on the record, holds a deep meaning for Daisy. While a bright, fun party track, the single explores feelings of resignation in the journey of getting over a past love. Within its lyrics, Daisy battles it out with herself, expressing how hard she’s tried to move on, until she reaches the end of her rope and decides she must be fated to feel this way forever; ‘I’ll be stuck on you / Till we have two moons / Till I watch the news / Till the sky’s not blue.’
“This song essentially describes the feeling of losing hope of ever moving on from someone. I came up with the idea ‘31st of June’ because the date doesn’t exist, therefore highlighting the feeling that the day I will be over this person, will never come.” DAISY PRING
An upbeat dance track well-suited for fans of Charli XCX, PinkPantheress and Kali Uchis, ‘31st of June’ obscures its heartbreak behind a facade of groovy electronic goodness. Speaking to her intentions for this contrast while she and producer Chelsea Warner (Amelia Moore, Ūla, Liyah Knight, Kwame, Tasman Keith) worked on the track together, Daisy said:
“Sonically, the song is very upbeat, with inspiration from PinkPantheress. The juxtaposition between the lyrics and the music represents the lows one can be feeling while putting up a show for those around them”
DAISY PRING
The forthcoming EP Treading Water will be Daisy’s first ever major project, after a string of stunning and well-received singles have allowed her to establish a space for herself in the scene so far. Ready now to take things to the next level, the EP is set to cover a series of personal moments and tales revolving around an earth-shaking breakup. In healing, learning, and growing through the heartbreak, Daisy has come out the other side with a remarkable bouquet of tracks, and is ready for audiences to feel and connect with them just as much as she has.
To welcome the EP, Daisy will be performing a string of shows including a free performance at Ryan’s Hotel Thirroul this month, followed by an official EP launch at La La La’s Wollongong on May 23rd, and finally an appearance at the Crooked River Estate Winter Wine Festival 2025!

TASH SULTANA SHARES COLLAB TRACK WITH CITY AND COLOUR ‘AIN’T IT KINDA FUNNY’
Off the back of the recent announcement that Tash Sultana had joined forces with City and Colour for a special collaboration on their upcoming EP Return To The Roots, today brings the release of the long-awaited third single, ‘Ain’t it Kinda Funny ft. City and Colour’ — a track that’s been years in the making.
LISTEN TO ‘AIN’T IT KINDA FUNNY FT. CITY AND COLOUR’ HERE
This song has a rich history. Originally written by Tash as a teenager, it’s one of the earliest songs in their catalogue — a raw acoustic piece born from a deep love for artists like Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, and, fittingly, City and Colour.
Fast forward to now, and the track has been reimagined, reshaped, and revived — not just to suit where Tash is today as an artist, but as a person on the edge of turning 30. “That looming milestone makes you reflect,” Tash says. “There’s this pressure that you’ve somehow ‘aged out’, but it’s all bullshit. 30’s young. Life’s only getting better. I wouldn’t relive my early 20s for anything — and that realisation bled straight into this song.”
‘Ain’t It Kinda Funny’ sees both artists contribute contrasting yet complementary verses — Sultana’s leaning into sentimentality, and City and Colour’s offering a reflective, seasoned perspective. Together, their vocals balance like yin and yang, bridging generations of experience and emotional insight.
Dallas comments, “Working with Tash was an absolute joy. We first connected last year and hit it off right away. That first impression led to me visiting their studio in Australia and eventually creating this song together. Tash is one of the most impressive people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Their passion and work ethic was inspiring. I’m truly grateful to have been invited to be a part of this.”
The result is a track that honours its roots while embracing the present — a poignant and powerful evolution of a song that has travelled with Sultana for over a decade.
True to form, the recording process also had its moments of levity. As the final touches were being added, including bass guitar, there was an unexpected interruption from Tash’s dog. “Right as the bass kicked in my dog went into the next room and took a massive stinking hot shit on the floor the size of an AFL football. Talk about a brown note, we were bonded” Sultana recalls.
Return To The Roots EP is a raw, unfiltered dive back into the heart of their artistry. Stripping away the pressure of commercial success, this six-track collection rekindles the spirit of spontaneous creation—the very essence that first ignited their career.
Building on the success of the first single, ‘Milk & Honey’—which earned rotation on triple j, topped the AMRAP Metro Charts, received praise from Rolling Stone, and landed on key DSP playlists like Spotify’s The Local List and Apple’s Heaps Indie—latest release ‘Hold On’ continues that momentum with support from triple j, DSP playlisting across Spotify’s Pop’N’Fresh and Apple’s New in Indie, and online love from The Music, Rolling Stone and AU Review.
Fresh from selling out Red Rocks in minutes Tash Sultana has recently announced a massive 2025 US tour. Bringing their signature electrifying energy and genre-blurring sound to fans nationwide, this tour is set to be nothing short of unforgettable. Tickets are available now via tashsultana.com
With a career spanning over a decade, Tash Sultana’s accomplishments speak volumes: selling out shows at iconic venues, headlining major festivals, selling out global arenas, 15 ARIA nominations, and the 2023 Rolling Stone Global Artist Award. Yet, for Tash, the journey is far from over. With their unwavering drive to push creative boundaries and a focus on building a broader legacy as an entrepreneur and mentor, Tash continues to shape the industry on their own terms.
Return To The Roots is a fearless declaration of resilience, reinvention, and the boundless power of self-expression.
