EIMHIN RELEASES POIGNANT NEW SINGLE “THE WINDING STAIR”

Gold Coast / Yugambeh based Irish-folk artist Eimhin (pronounced Ev-an) has released a stirring new single “The Winding Stair”. Marking Eimhin’s second release of the year, the track sees him incorporate the nostalgia of 90’s Britrock into his signature folk sound. Capturing the closing chapter of a relationship, “The Winding Stair” finds bittersweet beauty in surrendering to the inevitable.

Listen here

Set against the shifting landscapes of his home country of Ireland, Eimhin draws similarities between the push and pull of a relationship and the forces of nature. As he searches for belonging in a familiar place, Ireland becomes a metaphor for letting go and embracing change. Coming to a cathartic close with soaring strings, “The Winding Stair” provides a path to closure through acceptance rather than resolution.

Eimhin shared, “The song is about the wheels falling off toward the end of a relationship. There are signs and markers of the ending, moments of falling in and out of love. It doesn’t resolve fully; it just keeps pulling back and forth. It forms part of a broader concept work that traces the end of a relationship against the backdrop of a trip back to Ireland. I went back to try and find myself, searching for home, but both the place and the person beside me felt unfamiliar.”

I wanted the end to feel triumphant somehow, that’s where the melodic shift and the refrain takes place. I like the looseness of it, it feels nostalgic to me.”

“The Winding Stair” is the second taste of Eimhin’s next project, recorded in Tasmania at Frying Pan Studios. Inspired by his return to Ireland, Eimhin will explore themes of belonging and love lost, drawing from the landscapes and stories that shaped him.

Eimhin has had a whirlwind year following the launch of his debut album Modern Mending (of the Heart). Praised by Australian Music Scene, Happy Mag, The Partae and triple j unearthed, the album scored a nomination for Album of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards as well as three nominations at the upcoming Gold Coast Music Awards for Song of the Year, Release of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Eimhin will be performing at the prestigious Gold Coast Music Awards on 27 November alongside local artists TANISHA, bella amor, Selve and more. Touring the album far and wide, Eimhin headlined three shows in Tokyo as well as supporting Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James in Brisbane, with lots of shows across South East Queensland sprinkled in between.

Gold Coast Music Awards TICKETS

Originally hailing from Ireland, Eimhin’s early years were shaped by punk, emo, and hardcore shows. Gravitating towards the unorthodox, he was inspired by fashion icons like David Bowie and Prince. Eimhin navigates the space between defiance and tenderness, challenging restrictive cultural norms through his gender expression while maintaining a vulnerable and heartfelt approach to songwriting.

Since setting down roots in Australia, Eimhin has shared a stage with the likes of Boo Seeka, Lyric and Rhea Robertson. With a headline EU tour, festival slots at Bleach Festival, All Waves Fest and Happy Days and a growing list of shows across the east coast under his belt, he has made his mark on stages across the globe. Capturing audiences with his Irish charm and alluring presence, Eimhin is doing his darndest to be his authentic self whilst making some incredible music in the process.

STELLAR CIRCUITS Release New Album, PHANTOM :: PHOENIX + Video For ‘Elegant Illusion’ Released

Breakout Prog-Alt-Metal band STELLAR CIRCUITS has released their 3rd album, Phantom :: Phoenix, today via Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s follow up to 2023’s acclaimed record Sight To Sound, is a cathartic work of art that explores the trials and tribulations of life and death and the process of healing and perseverance in the face of agony, and features a unique melding of progressive alternative and metal on singles like ‘Bury The Ashes,’ ‘I See Your Spirit’ and ‘Corridor.’

With the record’s release, STELLAR CIRCUITS has debuted a new video for their song ‘Elegant Illusion.’

Commenting on the highlighted track, vocalist Ben Beddick says: “‘Elegant Illusion’ drifts into some areas we never really explored before. There was this almost funky and uplifting feeling to the verse and it was exciting to tap into that. The song goes into a few different places but everything just kinda felt like it flowed together in the right way when all was said and done. Overall it feels like a new vibe for us and we like the energy and variety that it brings to the album as a whole.”

About STELLAR CIRCUITS: Stellar Circuits is making a powerful impact in the progressive metal scene following the release of their acclaimed 2023 album Sight to Sound on Nuclear Blast Records. Fusing punishing grooves, intricate melodies, and emotional weight, the album pushed the band’s sonic boundaries while staying rooted in their intense, immersive sound. Tracks like “Witch House” and “Catch Your Death” showcase a darker, more evolved edge that continues to resonate with fans of metal and progressive rock alike.

The band—Ben Beddick (vocals), Jesse Olsen (bass), Tyler Menon (drums), and Jared Stamey (guitar)—has built a reputation for emotionally charged, technically precise live performances, following extensive touring and appearances alongside acts like Chevelle and Arch Echo. With a growing audience and relentless creative energy, Stellar Circuits has emerged as one of the most dynamic forces in modern progressive metal.
Now, the band is preparing to enter a bold new chapter with their upcoming album Phantom :: Phoenix, set for release in 2025. A cinematic and visceral exploration of light and dark, the album delves into themes of personal transformation and the rebirth of the self through fire. It’s an emotionally and sonically expansive record that challenges both the band and the listener to confront what must be destroyed in order to evolve. With new music on the horizon and a sharpened creative vision, Stellar Circuits is poised to break new ground and leave a lasting mark on the genre.

TOM HARRISON – PEACE WITH ME (Acoustic) (SINGLE)

Since its release on August 11th Tom Harrison’s raw, charged blues rock single “Peace With Me” charted at #6 on the AMRAP charts and has received glowing write ups.

Now Tom is revisiting the single releasing a live acoustic form stripping back the electric sound for a rawer deeper blues conjuring the sounds of hill country blues like Junior Kimborough.

‘Peace With Me’ is about messy love, dropping the drama that all relationships face and reconnecting. It has some nods to vintage blues love songs with playful lyrics.

Tom explained ‘ I knew I was playing around with some exaggerated lyrics, but I ran them past my wife and she gave me permission to go for it!’

Peace With Me” is a blues rock confessional—raw, emotional, and steeped in soul. With stripped-back production and aching vocals, it delivers a modern take on classic blues grit.

Mixed by Nell Forster and mastered by Mikey Young, the song was written and recorded in So So Silver studio with all instruments by Tom Harrison.

ABOUT Tom Harrison: Tom Harrison’s music is a rich tapestry woven from diverse roots influences. While blues sits at the heart of his sound, it’s just the beginning. His gravelly voice carries echoes of mountain blues, boot-stomping country, early rock ‘n’ roll, and heartfelt gospel. What sets Tom Harrison apart is his ability to blend these styles so naturally, creating something both familiar and fresh.

Harrison’s debut solo EP, Old Growth, arrived in 2024 and quickly made waves. His bluesy single “Miles Away” surged past 100,000 streams, while “Start Again” earned heavy rotation on ABC Radio and was featured in Rhythm magazine’s prestigious Nashville sampler pack.

The song’s music video also found success, frequently airing on CMT (Country Music Channel) in America and climbing to #53 in 4ZZZ’s Hot 100. In 2023, Harrison’s songwriting talent was recognized with a nomination for Listen Up’s Songwriter of the Year award.

With performances at numerous festivals like Byron Bay Blues Fest under his belt, Harrison continues to captivate audiences with his soulful, genre-blending sound. 2025 see’s him releasing new music from his upcoming debut album ‘Blood On The Moon’.

The first release ‘Peace With Me’ is a big shift from the tender folk sounds of ‘Old Growth’ and into a heavier blues rock sound, which Harrison has been planning for a long time.

‘I’ve always wanted to make a blues rock record. In past bands there’s always been a few blues songs but I had more than enough material this time to make an upbeat blues-rock record with a few folk songs to even things out”.

The first single ‘Peace With Me’ is a blues rock confessional—raw, emotional, and steeped in soul. With stripped-back production and aching vocals, it delivers a modern take on classic blues grit

“Close your eyes and pull like a dog,” was the answer once given by Irish Olympic rowers Gary and Paul O’Donovan in a 2016 interview, when asked to describe their game plan for an upcoming race. The phrase – previously non-existent – caught on and has since become cultural shorthand for the straightforward tenacity required to do pretty much anything.

For Dublin-based four-piece The Scratch, the phrase came to represent a collective headspace going into their forthcoming album – titled Pull Like A Dog, scheduled for release on 6th March 2026 via Sony Music Ireland. Signed to Sony Music Ireland, The Scratch’s second album Mind Yourself (2023) debuted at #1 on the Irish Vinyl Charts, #3 on the IRMA Weekly Album Chart, was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at The Choice Music Prize, plus an appearance on Ireland’s #1 TV show The Late Late Show. Additionally, the band has garnered support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6, plus most recently, their music featured in Netflix’s brand-new drama series House of Guinness, from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

In a league of their own when it comes to live performances, the high-voltage folk-metal band have been busy touring the past few months. From hitting the road with the Dropkick Murphys across the US, packing-out festival sets across Europe, supporting Dermot Kennedy in Australia and performing at the UK’s Download Festival, the band are showing no signs of slowing down.

The Scratch is Conor Dockery, Cathal McKenna, Daniel Lang, and Gary Regan.

The single paves the way for their upcoming studio album, entitled WORLD WAR DINOSAUR that is set for release on April 17, 2026. With WORLD WAR DINOSAUR VICTORIUS unleash their most powerful and cinematic chapter yet. “With World War Dinosaur, we went deeper into the theme of the holy dino war and added a stronger military edge,” the band comments. “It’s the most epic and hymn-like album we’ve ever written  100% Victorius, but bigger, tighter, and more intense. We’ve never worked this hard on an album before. ‘Only more is more’ and this time, we went all in!”

Accompanied by a vibrant music video inspired by classic arcade games, VICTORIUS’ new single launches listeners straight into a pixel-powered space-metal adventure.

‘Raptor Squad Attack’ delivers high-energy power metal at full throttle; soaring melodies, powerful riffs, and a chorus made to sing along to. It’s classic VICTORIUS: fast, melodic, and cinematic. Pure “Power Metal From Outer Space” for fans of DragonForce, Gloryhammer, and Sabaton.

The band adds: “The mission for ‘Raptor Squad Attack’ was clear: write a song that unites all the trademarks of VICTORIUS while keeping it straight to the point – no distractions! Our allies will love it… and so will our enemies, haha!”

Pre-Save/Pre-Order the new album at: https://victorius.rpm.link/wwdPR

About VICTORIUS: VICTORIUS deliver the soundtrack for a world that never truly disappeared: A world of Saturday morning cartoons, action figures, and boundless imagination. What started as a childhood dream has long since evolved into its own universe, captivating audiences around the globe.

Germany, Europe, Japan, the USA – VICTORIUS tour across continents, bringing a show to the stage that takes sound, story, and attitude to a new level. Every song is part of a larger story – and you can feel it live: thoughtful show elements, a strong visual style, and a performance that excites rather than just functions. VICTORIUS live means: full energy, no facade. A show that stands out, and stays with you.

With each album, the band refines their very own genre: “Power Metal from Outer Space.” Whether it’s cybernetic dinosaurs, galactic ninjas, or magical mammoths, VICTORIUS deliver power metal at maximum intensity – melodic, driving, unstoppable. Their discography reads like a cinematic adventure in multiple parts: from Dinosaur Warfare to Space Ninjas from Hell to The Great Ninja War.

With their upcoming studio album “World War Dinosaur” (out April 17, 2026), VICTORIUS open the next chapter in their ever-expanding universe. This time, the battlefield spans the entire globe, a full-scale military conflict between cybernetic dinosaurs and spacefaring ninja legions. It’s the most ambitious story the band has ever told: epic, explosive, and unapologetically over the top.

At the same time, the album marks a moment of transformation: a reinvention that is both bold and inevitable. VICTORIUS push their signature “Power Metal from Outer Space” to new heights; more cinematic, more intense, more fearless than ever before. With “World War Dinosaur”, the band doesn’t just continue their saga: they level up, redefining what power metal can be in sound, scope, and spirit.

VICTORIUS aren’t a retro show, but a nostalgic leap into the future. For everyone who still feels the fire of those old days, when heroes were immortal, adventures limitless, and imagination knew no bounds.

VICTORIUS are:

T-Rex – Vocals
Pteranodon – Drums
Velociraptor – Guitar
Sabre-Toothed Tiger – Guitar
Triceratops – Bass

Playlunch follow up sold out national Sex Ed album tour with extensive 29-date regional run

Big lunch is BACK! Melbourne bogan-funk favourites Playlunch are set to bring their nostalgia-packed, good-time-guaranteed live shows across the east coast on a mammoth 29 date run in late 2025 and into 2026. Kicking off with an already sold out show in Belgrave, the Sex Ed Regional Tour will hit headline and festival stages across VIC, TAS, QLD, NSW, WA, and ACT from December  through to May.

Victorian fans who missed out on the band’s Melbourne shows at 170 Russell, The Leadbeater and their surprise late night sets at The Night Cat will have ample opportunity to catch Playlunch in action throughout the first half of the year, with dates in Warrnambool, Phillip Island, Bendigo, Ballarat, Frankston, Lorne, St Kilda, South Morang, Traralgon, and Barwon Heads.

The band will venture back across the country to Western Australia, with dates scheduled on NYE, before heading back in January for performances in Bunbury, Margaret River, and Albany, as well as Queensland stops on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. New South Wales lunchers can catch Playlunch in Byron Bay, Albury, Gosford, Sydney, Newcastle, Avalon Beach, Wollongong, and Archies Creek, and Canberra will be treated to a one-off show. Playlunch are also scheduled to return to Tasmania for Good Gumnuts Festival, plus a headline show in Hobart.

The regional run follows Playlunch’s completely sold out headline tour in September, where they played their biggest headline shows to date across the country. Reflecting on the tour and looking to the future, Playlunch say:

“It’s been such a wild 3 months since we put out our sophomore album Sex Ed, and the response has been insane. The cap city album tour was absolutely bonkers – we’re still pinching ourselves that all those shows SOLD OUT so quickly (in such MASSIVE venues…what the helly) and the response from people was just wonderful. We also know how many people weren’t able to make it to one of those gigs or missed out on a ticket, SO……

We’re announcing our biggest headline run to date across regional locations around Australia (with a few festivals and special exclusive shows sprinkled in for good measure!). Touring regionally has always been such a big priority for our band since the very start, and getting around to all the people who continue to support us. To be able to keep the Sex Ed train rolling is so special! We’ll be playing a whole heap of the new tracks from the record live for the very first time in these locations (can’t wait to show you!), as well as all the favs from our debut album.”

Having just signed with international booking agency Mint Talent Group in North America, don’t sleep on the chance to see Playlunch in action before the rest of the world catches on.

“These will be the last Australian shows for quite a while as we are looking to see what the rest of the world has in store for us; so we hope you are able to grab a ticket and make it a night to remember. Everyone is in for an absolute treat, with a show of nonstop dancing and singing across the whole lineups!”

Watch: ‘Keith’ – Playlunch

Playlunch’s Sex Ed album, released in August via ABC Music, was immediately adored, debuting at #7 on the ARIA Australian Artist Charts and cracking the Top 5 for physical sales. The release was followed up by an instant classic triple j Like A Version, with the group covering The Weather Girls’ ‘It’s Raining Men’. Earlier this month, Playlunch were nominated for two J Awards, including Unearthed Artist of the Year and Australian Music Video of the Year for their viral single ‘Keith’. The iconic track also made its way into bbno$’s setlist at his recent Melbourne show.

With an infectious catalogue of genre-blending tracks covering nostalgic and distinctly Aussie themes like school athletics days, Blue Light Discos, and the peculiar world of daytime TV on a sick day, Playlunch’s upcoming tour promises audiences a sense of euphoric escapism and unabashed joy. Pack your schoolbags and grab your Yu-Gi-Oh! cards for childhood nostalgia’s night of nights, coming to a city near you with additional dates due to be announced in the coming months.

Tickets are on general sale from Friday 21st November at 10.00am local time, with DAL/EARLY LUNCH presale available on Wednesday 19th November at 10.00am local time. Visit destroyalllines.com for tickets and further information.

KEEPING NORTH – BABY I’M YOUR MAN – (SINGLE)

‘Baby I’m Your Man’ is the new single from KEEPING NORTH, but as songwriter Steve Tyson explains, ‘it’s a song I would really rather not have written…’

Domestic violence is still happening in this country at alarming, record levels. Every week, on average, a woman is killed as a result of DM. It’s appalling and there has been enough rhetoric about it. The heroine / victim in Keeping North’s song at least escapes and survives. That rarely happens in real life. We just need to keep getting the message out there. The band simply wants this song to heard for that reason, and that reason alone….

In Capital News magazine, Susan Jarvis’s review of ‘Demons & Dreamers’ says this – “Don’t be expected to be uplifted by this album – it’s full of dark moments, broken souls and disturbing undercurrents. But it’s an exquisitely crafted piece of work, filled with powerful, moving songs. Every song on the album is superb and deserves forensic listening and reflection.”

MORE ABOUT KEEPING NORTH: Songs can come from anywhere. From adventures, from history, from matters of the heart. Most of the songs on Keeping North’s album ‘Demons & Dreamers’ come from the imagination of songwriter Steve Tyson. Little pieces of fiction, other peoples’ made-up stories. But perhaps inspired by the real world and lives well-lived.

Tyson was listening to The Delines and the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss collaboration when the songs from ‘Demons & Dreamers’ started to evolve. Also on high rotation on his car’s CD player was early Joe Tex, and Albert King.

Together with guitarist Ian Shawsmith and drummer Stu Hoffman, Tyson grew up in the Australian city Brisbane at the time of the notorious Fitzgerald Inquiry into corruption, playing gigs in clubs run by petty gangsters and bent cops.

The characters that frequented those venues provided plenty of lyrical fodder for these songs written many years later. Pedal steel player Jeff Spencer heard those stories and wanted in. But the need for sweetness, to balance out the grit in the tales, comes from bassist and singer Jodi Murtha. The end result is a set of alt.country tunes laced with the blues, tinged with soul, and informed by folk music.

Tyson has long been regarded as an important songwriter in the Australian landscape, critically acclaimed for his solo work. Said respected critic Noel Mengel (former chief music writer for the Courier Mail), ’these are songs that are built to last. Powerful, passionate songcraft that is worthy of your time.’

Tia Gostelow shares  “Always (Low Lights Version)” (SINGLE)

Singer-songwriter Tia Gostelow continues her stripped-back re-imagining series with “Always (Low Lights Version)”, arriving on Friday, November 28th, via Lovely Records. The Low Lights series sees Tia revisit some of her most-loved catalogue, re-recording each track in a softer, warmer and more intimate light. “Always”, originally released on her second album Chrysalis and featuring HOLY HOLY, steps into a new sonic world with delicate production, vulnerable vocals, and a focus on the lyrical heart of the song. This release forms part of Tia’s forthcoming Low Lights EP, a cohesive collection of re-imagined tracks that spotlight the emotional core of her songwriting, showcasing her evolution as an artist and storyteller. The EP leans into minimal, late-night textures and places Tia’s voice front and centre, drawing listeners into her most personal interpretations yet.

“These Low Lights versions feel like I’m letting people into the room with me. ‘Always’ is one of those songs that hits differently when it’s stripped right back,” says Tia.

The new version continues the project’s overarching theme of revisiting past work with a renewed sense of maturity, identity, and emotional clarity as Tia enters a new creative era between Australia and London.

Always (Low Lights Version) is out on Friday, November 28th.

About Tia Gostelow: London-based, Australian indie-pop artist Tia Gostelow has always embraced change, with her music reflecting a journey of growth and transformation. At 16, she burst onto the scene with her debut single “State of Art”, winning Triple J’s Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative. Her debut album, Thick Skin (2018), went GOLD and features the PLATINUM single “Strangers,” earning her the Queensland Music Award for Album of the Year.

Tia’s second album, CHRYSALIS (2020), unveiled a new disco-pop direction and reached #1 on the AIR charts. In 2023, her third album, Head Noise, captured the emotional chaos of youth with dreamy vocals and vibrant pop hooks, landing at #4 on the AIR Charts.

Throughout 2024, she released a new single every month. She performed internationally at Reeperbahn Festival, supported The Last Dinner Party, and appeared at landmark Australian events, including Vivid Sydney and the Australian Open.

In 2025, Tia performed at The Great Escape (UK) and delivered a sold-out London show, relocating to the city where her artistry continues to evolve as she bridges the Australian and UK music communities with authenticity and heart.

Recognised for her genre-fluid evolution and warm, magnetic voice, Tia has been praised as “one of Australia’s most consistently impressive pop songwriters” (The Guardian) and “a chameleonic pop force” (Rolling Stone Australia)

The Low Lights EP will be released on April 10, 2026

ESTELLE CONLEY – THERE YOU GO AGAIN (aka Do Not Welcome) (SINGLE)

A haunting, heartfelt indie-folk tune about learning to live alongside anxiety. Estelle penned There You Go Again about her ongoing dance with it… noticing when it creeps in and learning not to let it take over (aka Do Not Welcome).

Tender, honest, and quietly powerful. Let yourself be whisked away by the enchanting sounds of Estelle Conley, a dreamy folk singer/songwriter hailing from Narrm/Melbourne.

With her heartfelt brand of songwriting and magnetic indie-folk melodies, Estelle’s music will tug at the truth in your heart.

Drawing inspiration from the storytelling prowess of ’60s and ’70s folk legends, Estelle is a keen wordsmith. Her work delves into themes of love, friendship, and yearning, with her sound most fittingly described as indie folk with a touch of country.

As Triple J’s Nkechi Anele put it perfectly: “The music so delicately holds your hand as you travel on a journey through hurt and sadness to the other side.”

Estelle has graced stages across Australia, including at Bondi Festival, Carriageworks, Lazy Bones Lounge, Folkswagon @ Café Lounge, For Folks Sake @ 107 Projects, The Toff, The Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar, Wesley Anne, Shotkickers and more.

She’s also had the pleasure of performing alongside and supporting folk artists such as Julia Johnson, Kay Proudlove, Lady Lyon, Quinny, Heather Fiona, Naomi Diane, Sasha March, Burning Grace, Well Into Winter, and Leroy Lee.

In 2025, Estelle is gearing up to release her next EP, in collaboration with Naarm/Melbourne-based artist and producer Rowena Wise.

Her music is the perfect remedy for even the most savage of beasts—like yoga for the ears.

PETER CAMPBELL – LONG HARD LOOK – SINGLE

Strange how things come together – a near-death experience, an exhibition of botanical art, the death of a mother-in-law – suddenly there’s a song. The fact is we’ll never know for sure but, if we take a Long, Hard Look, we might well get closer to the truth – before we’re gone.

In a world craving authenticity, Australian singer-songwriter Peter Campbell cuts through the noise. In the words of his own song Pete has willingly carried a Burden of Hope for just on 60 years. Poetic and powerful, this music has a timelessness to it – a rare blend of infectious alt-folk and contemporary relevance in a call to action, connection and healing. It is strong music with a beating heart.

Evocative lyrics, rich melodies and a magnetic stage presence make for a performance that is as entertaining as it is compelling. Pete invites an audience to find connection in human experiences that are universal, moving it from tears to laughter and back again. Expect raucous participation, striking finger-style 6 string, feisty 12 string, tender banjo and arresting a cappella – a powerful reminder of music’s ability to heal and inspire.

Raised through the 50s on a diet of classical and 30s/40s pop he played the violin and sang – choirs, school musicals, round the piano at home. Following an uncle who was a renowned magician he took to the stage at as a magician himself at the age of 9, moving on to television as a ventriloquist. The power of communicating to an audience was intoxicating, even at that tender age.

By 15 he was writing and performing his own music at school. At 18 he was studying architecture at the University of Sydney with Lloyd Rees, Guy Warren, Rod Millgate and Graham (Auntie Jack) Bond as his art/design tutors. At that time the student theatrical production the Architecture Review was legendary, and he was a serious player in the 1969 edition, The Great Wall of Porridge. All this led to the professional theatre when invited invited to join Graham and Rory O’Donoghue in the cast in the Philip Theatre production, A Candy Striped Balloon, and the ABC film, A Man on a Green Bike.

Purchasing his first ‘real’ guitar with the cash from these productions (a Maton Southern Star 12 String) and began performing at concerts and the many folk clubs around Sydney. His first album Of Time and Its Distance was recorded in Brisbane in the mid 1970s introducing him to folk legend Noel Paul Stookey (Paul of Peter, Paul & Mary fame). Stookey then produced his second album, Across the Border, at his Henhouse Studio in Blue Hill, Maine, USA. PP&M covered his song Wild Places on their album Such is Love and he toured with them.

In 2020 Pete wrote Waited Too Long which became the anthem for the United Nations International Summit on Domestic/Family Violence in the COVID-19 Era, a three-day online conference out of New York attended by leaders and experts from 47 countries and opened by Pope Francis. While some have called it the saddest song in the world, the intimate observation and cinematic detail in Waited Too Long are the hallmarks of his potency as a songwriter.

2025 sees the release of Peter Campbell’s startling fifth album, Burden of Hope, produced and engineered by Australian music legend Brendan Gallagher. With the world in turmoil the task of remaining hopeful is urgent and seriously hard work.

This collection speaks to the heart of our times without flinching. From the rollicking hilarity of the politically incisive Same Science (recorded live) to the wistful yearnings of Half the World Away and I’m Not Saying, the overtones of country in Waiting on the Weather and Brindabella Blue, the passionate Coat of Many Colours and the almost savage title track, Burden of Hope, these songs weave through the landscape of our shared humanity, keeping unerring focus on compassion and love.

In parallel to his music, Peter is an architectural graduate, graphic designer, photographer, glass artist, magician and ventriloquist. Music has always been the passion, but his creative life has expanded into many other areas.

He performed in professional theatre and film with Australian comic legend Grahame (Auntie Jack) Bond and created ‘The Mugic Man’ – an uproarious kids show combining magic, ventriloquism and wild banjo.

He has designed architectural glass environments for cathedrals, residences and institutions, created destination brands and wayfinding systems for cities, regions and towns, and undertaken large photographic projects exploring the social impact of industrial change. The Biscuit Factory, a photographic essay on the closure of the Westons Biscuit Factory in Sydney’s Camperdown, was celebrated in a major exhibition at the Museum of Sydney.

MEGADETH RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR “I DON’T CARE” FROM THEIR JANUARY 2026 SELF-TITLED ALBUM, THE BAND’S FINAL STUDIO RELEASE

PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM HERE

The countdown to the release of MEGADETH’s final studio album continues with “I Don’t Care” their latest single and video out today (November 14). Watch the video HERE and listen to the song HERE from the group’s self-titled album out January 23, 2026.  The uncompromising metal titans teamed with director Keith J Leman for the video which mashes scenes of skate culture with dynamic band performance footage.

MEGADETH leader DAVE MUSTAINE says about the anthemic “I Don’t Care”: “How many times have you wanted to say this to someone? I know you want to!  Deep down inside, if we had the balls, we would tell more people, ‘I don’t care’ more often.”

Musically, MUSTAINE explains, “Part of the main riff in this track had been floating around in my head since we did TSTD&TD, so I was pumped to start recording ‘I Don’t Care’ for this LP.  I really love the guitar nuances in the track. There is the main rhythm riff, next, a very deliberate down-picking part, next, the octave chords with jump picking on octave notes (while still down-picking!). And the soloing and back and forth between me and Teemu [Mäntysaari] is magnificent!!”

The new single follows “Tipping Point,” the album’s first single (watch the video HERE and listen to the song HERE), and a very special bonus track:  a reimagined version of “Ride The Lightning,” which MUSTAINE co-wrote with Metallica’s James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, and Lars Ulrich and was the title track from the group’s 1984 album. Pre-order the album, via DAVE MUSTAINE’s Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label, HERE.  Read more about the album’s full track listing HERE.

MEGADETH—Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari (Lead, Rhythm, and Acoustic Guitars), James LoMenzo (Bass Guitar) and Dirk Verbeuren (Drums)—released the album’s first single and video for “Tipping Point” in early October.  The sonically explosive and lyrically unflinching song launches with DAVE’s thunderous guitar solo before his iconic voice hauntingly kicks in.  In the desolate but hopeful accompanying video, directed by Leonardo Liberti, DAVE is locked up in a prison being tortured in extreme fashion, while the band performs in the same lock-up.  In the end DAVE perseveres evil and walks away into a new day. Watch the video HERE and listen to the song HERE.

Earlier this year, MUSTAINE revealed in a social post directly shared with his worldwide fanbase and Cyber Army that the forthcoming album will mark the final studio album from MEGADETH, who’ve sold over 50 million records worldwide and received a GRAMMY® Award (with 12 additional nominations).
He shared the announcement of the album and tour via his alter ego Vic Rattlehead.

Fans can click HERE to register for early access to exclusive information and offers surrounding the album and all MEGADETH news.  In addition, look for the initial run of farewell tour dates to be announced later this year.  Also set for next year is a new memoir from MUSTAINE, details of which will be revealed in the coming months.MEGADETH are always and forever the point of no return for metal. It would be nearly impossible to conceive where heavy music and culture would’ve gone without the band founded, fronted, and fueled by vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer Dave Mustaine. The blast radius of their impact has only magnified since 1983. Thus far, they have sold 50 million records worldwide, received a GRAMMY® Award (with 12 additional nominations), generated billions of streams, notched seven Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200, and enthralled millions of diehard fans in arenas and stadiums across the globe. Their catalog spans indisputable classics such as the platinum Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? (cited at #8 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time”), the platinum Rust In Peace, and double-platinum Countdown To Extinction, which captured #2 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, Dystopia notched a Top 3 debut and earned a GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Metal Performance” with its title track. They only upped the ferocity with The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! in 2022. It saw them return to #3, receive a “Best Metal Performance” GRAMMY® Award nomination for “We’ll Be Back,” and incite rave reviews. Their influence can be felt practically everywhere—whether it be Post Malone proudly sporting a tattoo of “So Far, So Good… So What!,” Homer Simpson’s iPod displaying their moniker during an episode, or Showtime’s smash hit series Billions and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey utilizing MEGADETH in plot points. The band have delivered simultaneously relevant and timeless records in five decades now, setting the pace for the thrash renaissance of the eighties, tearing through the MTV years of the nineties with swagger and style, maintaining their stride in the post-Y2K 2000s, elevating to canonical heights in the social media and streaming era of the 2010s, and unassumingly harnessing the uncertainty and unease of the Post-Pandemic world into their boldest, biggest, and best work yet.

Along the way, MEGADETH extended their influence even further. During 2016, the band entered the spirits world with their very first signature beer À Tout Le Monde followed by Saison 13 in 2019. The brand asserted itself as a player in the beverage space and impressively moved over 15 million pints. Joining forces with Keystone in 2025, they ignite the next phase of Megadeth Beer on the biggest global platform yet.

Beyond his role as a music icon, Dave founded the visionary wine brand HOUSE OF MUSTAINE which uniquely blends music, culture, and fine winemaking.  The brand launched with the 2013 Symphony Interrupted Cabernet Sauvignon which was inspired by Dave Mustaine’s groundbreaking collaboration with the San Diego Symphony.

EX GENERATION -The Mumbai Exchange

Ziggy Zeitgeist and Lewis Moody Continue Their Global Series with The Mumbai Exchange, Uniting with India’s Finest Musicians for a Kaleidoscopic Journey Through Sound and Culture

After the success of The Napoli Exchange, which saw the duo collaborate with Southern-Italian funk visionaries from Naples, The Mumbai Exchange marks the next chapter in EX GENERATION’s ongoing series of cross-cultural collaborations, a project that examines how the soul of a city is shaped after years of touring and absorbing the sounds of different cities.  The Mumbai Exchange, along with focus track ‘Bandra Hustle’, will be released digitally and on vinyl Friday 20 November, with pre-orders available now via Energy Exchange Records on Bandcamp.

A vibrant love letter to Mumbai: a city full of rhythm, colour, and life, the project has already received support from the likes of BBC6 Music, Gilles Peterson, NTS, MOJO, Bandcamp, and Somewhere Soul. Expect explosive grooves, soaring melodies of love and desire, and heady psychedelic soundscapes. The album evokes intoxicating sights and sounds inspired by one of India’s cultural heartlands, hedonistic textures and heart-wrenching emotion woven into a vivid sonic tapestry.

The Mumbai Exchange stands as both a love letter to the urban sprawl of India’s western megatropolis and a gift from its people, a community of musicians who shared their ancient practices, and locals who welcomed Moody and Zeitgeist with openness and generosity.

“The weight of this gift isn’t something we take lightly. Over the past year, we’ve been putting everything into shaping an album that stands as a testament to cultural sharing – honouring the lineage of Indian music while embracing the clash of Western traditions we’ve grown up in. Somewhere in that middle ground, we’ve found something fresh, exciting, and deeply human.” – Lewis Moody & Ziggy Zeitgeist, EX GENERATION

Working out of Island City Studios in Khar West, Mumbai, Moody and Zeitgeist brought together some of India’s most accomplished musicians and wordsmiths, including award-winning vocalists Vinay Sugatha Ramadasan and Anuja Zokarkar. The pair bring lyrical depth informed by millennia of North-Indian classical poetry and melody, where metaphor and imagery intertwine with EX GENERATION’s unapologetic rhythm and production style to form something profound and complex, yet accessible and innate in the way it confronts the listener.

Each track on The Mumbai Exchange unfolds as a dialogue between cultures and traditions. The record opens with’ More Saiyaan’, where psychedelic guitar and vocalist Anuja Zokarkar’s aalaap (classical improvisation) explore the taboo of love, immediately placing the listener in another time and place – a secret, perhaps forbidden, back alley in a faraway eastern realm – before giving way to ‘Aao Naa’, a late-80s-inspired house groover that reimagines Bollywood’s bold reinterpretations of Western pop, offset against 90s house inspired organ-bass. The influence of Indian film music flows through ‘Jung Chidi Hai’, a sweeping cinematic epic led by Vinay Sugatha Ramadasan, while ‘Pancha Bhuta’ draws on the New Age crossovers of the 90s and 00s, blending field recordings from the band’s time in India with cyclical melodies and minimal grooves.

‘Shringara’ revisits More Saiyyan’s theme of divine love through Bollywood disco hues, sung in the ancient Braj Bhasha dialect of Hindi, while ‘Bandra Hustle’ erupts in joyous Bhangra rhythms, a nod to Mumbai’s street celebrations. The sarangi-led ‘Lady of the Lake’ dives into psych-rock terrain, and ‘Dunes of Thar’ conjures the cinematic vastness of Rajasthan’s desert landscape. The journey concludes with ‘Sochti Hun, O Mere Jaanam’ – a Hindi reimagining of Sister Sledge’s ‘Thinking of You’, complete with tabla, paying homage to Bollywood’s long-standing tradition of cross-continental reinterpretation and closing The Mumbai Exchange in the true spirit of cultural exchange.

FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS + BOWLING FOR SOUP

2026 CO-HEADLINE BOWL MY BONES AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Australia, get set to be bowled over in 2026, with beloved UK folk punk act FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS joining forces with Texan pop punk mainstays BOWLING FOR SOUP for a monumental co-headline Australian tour next May.

Commencing the Bowling My Bones tour festivities on Friday 1 May on the Sunshine Coast, FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS and BOWLING FOR SOUP will roll through Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Frankston and Adelaide, before concluding on Monday 11 May in Fremantle.

When a band can make it feel like a summer party anywhere they go, you know you’re in for a good time. And with over three decades in their wake as a band, BOWLING FOR SOUP, aka the self-proclaimed “9th greatest pop punk band in history”, have left an indelible mark on their genre and pop culture in general, roaring out of Texas in 1994 and never looking back. Eleven studio albums, including two Silver and Gold certified LPs? Yes. Appearances on multiple high-profile soundtracks, including a Disney Channel theme song staple? You bet. Endless amounts of humour, high-octane performances and earworm hits that you’ll still know the lyrics to decades after their release? Suffice to say, BOWLING FOR SOUP are here for a good time and a long time, and are definitely not slowing down anytime soon.

Recently celebrating the 20th anniversary of their iconic 2004 album A Hangover You Don’t Deserve, which also included their biggest UK tour to date, BOWLING FOR SOUP are set to headline Wembley Arena in London next month, alongside currently working towards the release of a live acoustic album, Stoked On Trent, which will boast pop-punk covers recorded in Manchester during their recent tour. And in 2026, BOWLING FOR SOUP will continue to jubilantly fly the flag for pop punk, including a return to Australian stages next May after their acclaimed appearances at 2024’s Good Things Festival and headline sideshows, with Wall Of Sound declaring of BFS’s Melbourne sideshow at the time: “what’s not to love on a night out with the utterly personable and glee-inducing Bowling For Soup?”.

Helmed by the prolific titular FRANK TURNER himself, FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS have been weaving magic together since the mid-2000s. Surrounding TURNER’s pivot to solo artist terrain after his earlier career fronting post-hardcore act Million Dead, FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS have gone on to record and perform for decades, with TURNER now also in command of ten solo studio albums, 3000+ live shows, a #1 album courtesy of 2022’s FTHC, millions of global album sales, and live stints around the world spanning all continents, a “50 States in 50 days tour” across North America, performing at practically every UK venue imaginable, and even an appearance as part of the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony.

Most recently releasing his tenth studio album, 2024’s Undefeated, TURNER once again showcased his dexterous range, emotional depth and his trademark knack for blending punk, folk and rock that is inescapably infectious and heartfelt. An artist who has sold out massive venues within hours, hosts an annual award-winning four-day international festival, Lost Evenings, and tirelessly advocates for grassroots music venues and businesses amongst many other pursuits, FRANK TURNER’s previous Australian performances have also been met with nothing but acclaim, with Everblack Media lauding the band’s 2023 Bluesfest Byron Bay performance, praising “departing such an amazing set is damn hard. If you’re a fan, you know. If you weren’t before, you are now. We await your inevitable return Mr Turner.”

Bringing two prolific live artists under one roof for a run of monumental shows in 2026, don’t miss your chance to roll them bones and revel in some endlessly good vibes with both FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS and BOWLING FOR SOUP next May.

ANTONY SZMIEREK RELEASES DIGITAL DELUXE VERSION OF HIS CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED DEBUT ALBUM SERVICE STATION AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE

Manchester-based poet, writer, and producer Antony Szmierek today delights fans with the digital deluxe release of his critically acclaimed debut album, Service Station at the End of the Universe. Originally released earlier this year to a wave of five-star reviews, the expanded edition features fan-favourite singles ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Fallacy,’ ‘The Great Pyramid of Stockport,’ ‘Yoga Teacher,’ and ‘Angie’s Wedding,’ alongside two new tracks: ‘That Face You Make When It’s Raining’ and ‘Girlypops.’

LISTEN TO THE DELUXE ALBUM IN FULL

‘That Face You Make When It’s Raining’ is a guaranteed floor filler – a slick UK Garage anthem driven by infectious rhythm and groove. Featuring vocals from fresh Mancunian talent Yves Jones, the producer behind fan favourite ‘Rafters’, the song demonstrates Antony’s gift for turning sharp lyricism into deep, dancefloor poetry. As Antony explains,“A northern take on UKG. Loose, fun rhymes and punchlines about rain and Vimto set against the backdrop of an argument with a partner. Actually written in the carpark of ASDA Hulme as far back as three years ago.”

Meanwhile, ‘Girlypops’ finds Antony embracing his pop instincts, crafting a playful, singalong-ready track infused with throwback 90s vibes. Reflecting on the song, he says, “A blend of 90s indie and the vocal chops of Fat Boy Slim, a pop song that subverts the gender expectations around a ‘lads night out’ with a big singalong chorus. This came from the same session as Crumb and Crashing Up, but lost its place on the record to Yoga Teacher as it made the middle of the album too indie sounding. I wanted the album to feel almost like a compilation CD or mixtape in places, and I think this one nods to that feeling even more.”

HEAR ‘THAT FACE YOU MAKE WHEN IT’S RAINING’

Service Station At The End Of The Universe is a bold fusion of dancefloor euphoria and introspective storytelling. Co-produced by Szmierek and his long-time collaborators Robin Parker, Max Rad, Louie Fulford-Smith and Yves Jones, Service Station At The End Of The Universe is a perfectly packaged collection of dancefloor poetry, with moments of downbeat, dark poignance.

Each of the singles from Service Station At The End Of The Universe has been added to BBC 6 Music’s playlist and received strong support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, and Apple Music1. With the album’s release, Antony appeared on the cover of Dork (also making their Hype List), was named an Observer “Ones to Watch,” and featured in a two-page spread in The Observer Magazine. He has also been highlighted multiple times across major publications, including The Guardian, NME, DIY, Clash, and Notion.

Antony’s summer was packed with festival appearances at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Eurosonic, SXSW, and Iceland Airwaves, among others, and he toured across the UK & Europe as support for Faithless, before embarking on a run of his own sold-out headline tour dates.

The past few years have been a wild ride for the artist. Cutting his teeth on the Manchester spoken word scene and gaining notoriety for his seamless flow skewering everything from the hardships of contemporary British life to finding the unexpected beauty in the everyday, it was the 2023 release of his single ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Fallacy’ that kicked off his meteoric ascent. Set against the backdrop of a pounding kick drum and club-ready synths, Szmierek lets loose a stream of consciousness that lays out his vision of musical vulnerability and communal escapism: “Everything’s ironic now, post-post-punk. Take me away” he says on the track.

The earworming record soon found its way onto the BBC 6 Music airwaves and led Szmierek to be named an Artist of the Year 2023 by the station. There followed appearances on Later… with Jools Holland, a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session, multiple triumphant Glastonbury sets and a flurry of comparisons: to the pavement prose of The Streets, the poetry of John Cooper Clarke if he found himself at the Haçienda, or like Jarvis Cocker for the UK Garage generation. Yet, with the release of his 2023 indie-influenced EP Poems To Dance To and now his banger-filled, dancefloor-focused debut album, Service Station at the End of the Universe, Szmierek cements his sound as one that is distinctly his own.

LIZA PLANTS – THAT WASN’T LOVE – EP (Out on November 28th)

She/Her Records and Liza Plants present “That Wasn’t Love”, the artist’s inaugural release with the She/Her label, arriving November 28, 2025. After releasing more than a decade of poorly produced bedroom pop, Liza Plants finally met someone willing to both fuck her and tolerate listening to her music long enough to offer constructive criticism. Mind-bending, ground-breaking, genre-defying – none of these words have been used to describe her new “That Wasn’t Love” EP.

After begrudgingly reading half of two books on songwriting (that’s almost one whole book!) Liza developed these four songs in a texture of openness and willingness to accept feedback. Her earlier work is a frustrated, seething, painful-to-listen-to expression of naivety which revealed rather true, heartbreaking lyrics, masked by an inaccessible mode. In contrast, “That Wasn’t Love” sounds like music, and is exceptionally tolerable to listen to, which she feels deserves a press campaign!

Working with distortion, Liza Plants found her new garage rock sound at last among the female singer-songwriters she loves, drawing inspiration from Mazzy Star, Patti Smith, Lana Del Rey and Opus III. “That Wasn’t Love” is a reflection on her past romances and family relationships seen through the lens of a clearer, present-day understanding of what love (really) is. With lyrics as heartbreaking as ever (and now in recognizable song structure!) Ms. Plants takes us on an eclectic journey of abuse, abandonment, ornithology, and being a watermelon.

Nevermind that the artist is likely only releasing said album to cross-promote and generate content for her burgeoning youtube channel (which hosts a deep dive into the lyrics on the album). Let’s also pretend that she isn’t writing this herself, or that music journalism isn’t dead, or that anybody cares about a self-centered, masturbatory, navel-gazing project such as this, that never would have been picked up by any other label in which she was not also co-founder.

About Liza Plants: Liza Plants is originally from Wisconsin and moved to Czechia in 2019 to escape the impending rise of fascism in America. Raised in a household ruled by ska music, her life-long obsession with female singer-songwriters felt all the more precious, private and counter-cultural. Today she works on music on Tuesday and Thursday mornings one hour at a time, among a diverse multi-disciplinary art practice that includes painting, photography and creative writing, as well as being a pathetic corporate shill participating in her own wage slavery.

Her latest bid for internet fame and influencer-independence leaves much to be desired, but is nonetheless charming in its authenticity and refreshingly real in how algorithm un-friendly it is.

Three-time Grammy-nominated blues icon Eric Bibb returns with “Muddy Waters”, a funky tribute to the legendary bluesman who inspired generations. Rooted in travel and perseverance, the song rolls through the heartlands of American blues – from Houston to Baton Rouge – carrying the weight and spirit of its namesake.

Recorded in Sweden with producer Glen Scott, the track features an all-star cast: Robbie McIntosh (electric slide guitars, dobro, resonator), Paul Jones (harp), Sven Lindvall (tuba), and Bibb on vocals and acoustic guitar. “So happy to have Paul Jones and Robbie McIntosh onboard,” says Bibb. “Muddy Waters is one of my favorite tracks from my new album One Mississippi – Glen Scott’s production is a masterclass in funk.”

The single is the latest taste of Bibb’s forthcoming album One Mississippi (out 30 January 2026 via Repute Records), ahead of a worldwide tour that will see him perform extensively in Australia with his band in April and May, 2026.

SEA OF LIGHTS, THE CLASSIC 2012 ALBUM FROM REVERED MELBOURNE SINGER-SONGWRITER SUZANNAH ESPIE, HA BEEN REISSUED

A long-revered force in Australia’s alt-country and roots scene, Suzannah Espie has spent over three decades blazing a trail with her smoky vocals, soul-baring lyrics, and electric stage presence. With the November 14 re-release of her acclaimed 2012 album Sea of Lights, and, somewhere down the track, a reissue of her stunning 2016 album Mother’s Not Feeling Herself Today, a whole new generation of listeners is invited into the world of a woman who makes music with guts, grace, and zero regard for playing it safe.

From her early days as a founding member of the beloved all-female trio GIT, through to a thriving solo career that’s spanned continents and genres, Espie has always made art on her own terms. Her third solo album, Sea of Lights, recorded live and raw with the all-star accompaniment of Jeff lang, Liz Stringer and Chris Altmann while she was seven months pregnant, captured her in full flight — powerful, open-hearted, and creatively unfiltered. The album earned Rhythms Magazine’s Album of the Year, a top 15 spot in The Age EG’s Best Albums of 2012, and the much-loved Nani Award from RRR broadcasters Dave Graney and Elizabeth McCarthy.

While she’s hardly been prolific, Espie’s work since Sea Of Lights has only deepened her legacy. Mother’s Not Feeling Herself Today (2015) — a brave, candid reflection on identity, womanhood, and motherhood — showed Espie’s unflinching honesty and refusal to romanticise the hard parts of life. She’s earned accolades including MBAS Blues Performer of the Year (2007), Port Fairy Folk Festival Artist of the Year (2013), and Vic Music Awards’ Best Folk Album (2016). She’s toured extensively across Australia and the U.S., and shared stages with icons like Archie Roach, Renee Geyer, Kasey Chambers and Arlo Guthrie. In recent years has been an integral member of The Cartridge Family and The Junes, releasing over ten albums between 2010 and 2025.

Described as “a national treasure” and “one of Australia’s most distinctive voices,” Espie’s work resonates with fire, tenderness, and defiance — the kind of music that refuses to apologise, just like the woman who makes it. Tender, sharp-witted, and soul-stirring, her songs speak to love, grief, power, aging, motherhood and survival with a depth only lived experience can bring.

SLAYER Special 40th Anniversary Reissue Of Hell Awaits  To See Release May 15, 2026 via Metal Blade Records

SLAYER’s iconic second studio album, Hell Awaits, is set to receive a 40th anniversary edition reissue via Metal Blade Records next year! Formed in 1981, SLAYER assaulted the world with a new hybrid of metal and punk – heavier, faster, and darker than the rest – and set a new standard, defining not only a genre, but an attitude. Throughout SLAYER’s history, the band never faltered in unleashing their extreme and focused aural assault, and repudiating temptations, SLAYER always chose to remain crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream.

“It’s the record where SLAYER became SLAYER.” That’s what Kerry King says about Hell Awaits. And he knows of what he speaks. As the band’s guitarist, co-songwriter, and co-lyricist, he was in the trenches with vocalist/bassist Tom Araya, guitarist Jeff Hanneman (R.I.P.), and drummer Dave Lombardo, creating what has become one of heavy metal’s greatest albums.

A significant departure from SLAYER’s 1983 debut, Show No Mercy – and every SLAYER album that came after it – Hell Awaits is both an outlier and a solidification of form. Show No Mercy was the mission statement, but Hell Awaits is a more developed and intricate execution of SLAYER’s speed, chops, and aggression.

Released in April of 1985 by Metal Blade Records, Hell Awaits was the pinnacle of an action-packed thrash year that saw debut albums from the likes of Megadeth, Exodus, Kreator, Possessed, Destruction, Hirax, and Overkill. Heavily influenced by Mercyful Fate, the longer, more progressive arrangements on Hell Awaits marked a new era for SLAYER. Whereas most of the songs on Show No Mercy were less than four minutes long, three of Hell Awaits’ seven tracks go beyond the six-minute mark. “Jeff and I were still trying to figure out who we were as musicians, and we were both infatuated with Mercyful Fate’s Melissa album during the writing process for Hell Awaits,” King says. “That’s why there’s so few songs and most of ‘em are pretty long. That’s the only time anything like that ever happened with us.”

Tom Araya’s performance is similarly impressive. The vocalist spat lyrics a mile a minute on the likes of “Kill Again” and “Praise Of Death.” “I don’t recall the songs being hard to sing,” he says. “Singing fast and clearly has always been something that I strived for.”

The reissue arrives May 15, 2026 in three physical formats and digitally.

SVALBARD Release Final Song ‘If We Could Still Be Saved’

Svalbard have released their final song, ‘If We Could Still Be Saved’. Revealed two days before the start of their final UK headline tour, Svalbard open up for the final time. On the track, members Serena Cherry, Liam Phelan, Mark Lilley and Matt Francis tear through 5 minutes of heart-wrenching shoegaze and pumelling post-metal, delivering sharp bitter bile and shimmering lush melodies in equal measure. They bow out with the raw, crushing honesty and ingenious musicianship that they’re cherished for.

Serena Cherry stated: “We spend most of our lives unaware of finality. Blissfully oblivious to when those musical notes played will be our last. So, when we can see an end in sight for something, it distorts the view. Like a funeral marked in your calendar a year in advance. Appreciation shows it’s sheepish face and whispers: ‘sorry I took so long.’ This is the last time we will release a song as Svalbard. Its a song not just heavy with riffs but heavy with sentiment, reflecting on our 15 years as a band. It’s also a parting gift to all of the people who have supported us. Think of it as the metal version of “Goodbye” by the Spice Girls!”

Svalbard’s latest and final record, The Weight Of The Mask, is their most devastatingly raw and beautiful work to-date, overflowing with mesmerising performances from Serena Cherry, Liam Phelan, Mark Lilley and Matt Francis, transcending boundaries across shoegaze, post-hardcore, black metal and more. Uncompromising and highly charged, the record spans themes intrinsic to humanity, such as emotional strength and depression, to unrequited love and vulnerability.

Across a fifteen-year career, Svalbard have released four studio albums, three EPs and several split releases. Whilst continually refining their distinctive blend of euphoric black metal, post-rock and d-beat, they incorporated a few more surprising influences along the way. From soft, mournful singing to progressive guitar leads, which showcased a sensitive dynamic, lending impact to their most crushing moments – of which there are undoubtedly many. There’s been no poetry, no ambiguity – just direct, raw honesty as the quartet have tackled some very uncomfortable subjects head on. Svalbard are heavy in the most evocative sense of the word, with blunt lyrics equally as important as the music.

Svalbard previously shared this message to their fans: “After much reflection, we have decided that 2026 will be the final year of Svalbard. Our final UK tour will be in November 2025. Following that, we plan to do a final EU tour, a final Japanese tour and a few more select farewell shows in 2026. Thank you to everyone who has supported us during our 15 years as a band. Your support has meant the world to us. We’ve shared so many unforgettable moments with you all throughout our career, and we look forward to commemorating our final year as a band with you in 2026.”

Serena Cherry also shared: “From the moment we formed Svalbard in 2011, all we wanted was to play loud and play shows. Every single moment was exciting to us, from playing DIY squat shows to major metal festivals all over Europe. I think we will always feel a slight state of disbelief over what our noisy little band from Bristol managed to achieve. We never wanted to create music that was easy to pigeonhole, and I feel proud that we always stayed true to ourselves musically and never restricted our creativity within the genre rule book. The support we received over the years as a band is something that I will carry in my heart forever. It’s a testament to the openmindedness of the metal community that our sound and our outspokenness was embraced with open arms. I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Svalbard, it’s been an incredible journey and we could not have done it without you.”

Chloe Styler Bravely Confronts Unrequited Love On Single ‘Placeholder’

There’s an ache that lingers beneath the surface of Chloe Styler’s infectious smile and glossy pop exterior, and she lets it surface on her new single, ‘Placeholder’, out now.  Known for her bright, buoyant energy and heartfelt storytelling, the Gold Coast songwriter turns inward, unravelling a shattering recollection of being a stand-in.

With her shimmering pop anthems and growing national acclaim, Chloe Styler continues to evolve. Her previous single ‘Push & Pull’ marked the beginning of a new chapter, arriving alongside her BIGSOUND 2025 appearance and adding to an already impressive list of milestones. Each release shows Chloe stepping further into her own light, blending impassioned songwriting with a glowing pop sensibility that feels both personal and universal.

Bruised and achingly human, ‘Placeholder’ has a diary-like intimacy polished with pop precision. A warm acoustic guitar opens the track, steady and unguarded, as Chloe’s tender vocals trace the first cracks of heartbreak. The resilient chorus finds Chloe standing firm within the ache, as layers of gliding electric guitar, soft synths and mandolin breathe new colour into the sadness. When the drums arrive, they drive the pain home, pulling everything together into something defiant and unbreakable.

‘Placeholder’ sits in the aftermath of false promises and realising that affection was about convenience, capturing the hurt of being kept close, led on, but never chosen. Chloe writes from that raw middle ground where clarity stings as much as confusion, yet it’s through this honesty that she finds her strength. What begins as self-doubt becomes self-realisation, marking the moment someone stops waiting to be wanted and starts reclaiming their worth. Speaking candidly about the track, Chloe shares:

“This song stirs up some messy, emotional feelings and still leaves an ache in my chest when I listen to it. But it’s honest, it’s raw, and it lives in that uncomfortable space between wanting to be loved and knowing you’re just being kept around as an option in someone’s life. There’s no real resolution. It just sits in the sadness of that truth. It’s the heartbreak that comes when you finally see things for what they are, and you have to find your own closure because they’ll never actually give it to you. Here’s to never being the placeholder again though. That sucked.”

For ‘Placeholder’, Chloe Styler trades her glittering pop glow for something more fragile and cinematic. In doing so, she shares a deeply personal story that gives voice to those who have been taken for granted, who have given more than was ever returned, and who find strength in the realisation that love should never be one-sided.

‘Placeholder’ is out now

Adelaide’s DROPSINK bring vibrant energy  to new indie-punk track ‘IMPRESSIONS (SHE SAID)’

Since making their debut in 2024, Adelaide indie-punk outfit DROPSINK has wasted no time in establishing themselves as a force to watch. Building solidly on sonic foundations that take inspiration from Australian genre greats including DZ Deathrays and Violent Soho, DROPSINK have pushed themselves into confident new territory as musicians – perfectly represented on their latest track, ‘impressions (she said)’.

The new single from the band, following on from previous releases ‘Animal’ and ‘Care At All’, shows the fun chemistry that exists within the group, while also demonstrating a passionate approach to songwriting – particularly when it comes to navigating some, sometimes, hard to understand topics. ‘impressions (she said)’ is a track DROPSINK describes as “focusing on recovery from addiction and social anxiety, and the implications that come with these things.”

Through the song, the band offers the listener an opportunity to view an emotionally locked in element of the band and their art;

“‘impressions (she said)’ was written as we welcomed Simon [Banaag, bass] into the band. Welcoming a new member allowed us to expand our sound, making production more dynamic, as well as adding backing vocals to our music. ‘impressions’ is the first of a fresh direction of song writing which DROPSINK have taken, drawing from a new set of influences and focusing on meaningful lyric writing and a heavier aesthetic.” DROPSINK

Accompanying the release of ‘impressions (she said)’, DROPSINK have shared the official music video for the track, directed by Ethan Shillabeer, Harry Verner and Alannah Underdown.

DROPSINK have carved out a unique space for themselves within a burgeoning new wave of South Australian indie and punk bands. Mixing an engaging attitude with confident and immersive sounds, the group has become a favourite on their local circuit as headliners and supporting the likes of Surf Trash (QLD), Mac The Knife (NSW) and Semantics (QLD).

Since their formation, DROPSINK have garnered favourable attention via rotation on triple j Unearthed, as well as a nomination at the South Australian Music Awards in 2025. To celebrate the release of ‘impressions (she said)’, the band will perform a special launch show at The Austral in December.

LUCKY DELIVERS NEW SINGLE ‘HOUSTON’ + UPCOMING DEBUT HEADLINE SHOWS

Following the buzz of her Bigsound showcases, and a run of shows down the East Coast, today Melbourne based artist Lucky has delivered new single ‘Houston’.

The track comes with a music video from ARIA Award winning director Kyle Caulfield (G Flip, Royel Otis, The Rubens), live at 6pm AEDT Wednesday 19 November.

The single, a heady shoe-gazey moment, is coming ahead of her debut headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Says Lucky of the single, ‘Houston’ explores that feeling when you’re super aware you’re on the edge of falling hard, like you know you’re in a good moment or place, and you’re hyper-present in it, but there’s this knowing that it could all disappear.

This song carries a heavier tonality — it kind of captures those moments where the imperfect things actually make everything feel more perfect. It’s about romanticising everything, accepting the unknown and leaning into the fact you’re going to fall and you don’t care where you land.”

Lucky has previously supported artists such as The Belair Lip Bombs , Hockey Dad, The Tullamarines, Dear Seattle, Jet City Sports Club, and more.

Working with Sydney based producer Fletcher Matthews (The Buoys, Dear Seattle, Trophy Eyes), and drawing influence from acts like beabadoobee, Violent Soho, & Momma, Lucky pays homage to an era of music that was loud, unapologetic and gritty, whilst keeping it refreshing – drawing comparisons to a modern-day Smashing Pumpkins or The Cranberries.

HEADLINE TOUR DATES

Sat 22 November – The Old Bar, Melbourne

Sat 6 December – Vic On The Park, Sydney

STAHR Bring Desert Heat And Human Vulnerability On ‘Loving Friend’. Single Out now

STAHR’s new single ‘Loving Friend’ carries a mesmerising intensity. Fusing grit with confident swagger, the Meanjin/Brisbane dream pop and desert rock duo walk a line between tenderness and defiance.

For those new to STAHR, the duo made their debut in 2024 with ‘The Heat’ and have since built on their blend of pop and rock. Fronted by Grace Harris and Samuel Shepherd, they trade vocals over intoxicating grooves decorated by fuzzed guitars and smouldering rhythms.

After a run of dynamic releases and support slots for the likes of Boy & Bear, Olympia and Jacob Fitzgerald, ‘Loving Friend’ marks their fourth single of 2025 and another confident stride forward.

‘Loving Friend’ moves with a fierce and hypnotic stride. Sweltering guitar riffs spark with smooth strut, giving way to Samuel Shepherd’s lead vocal, anchored by a driving drum groove. The track shifts between bold confidence and meaningful reflection to a heartfelt confession in the chorus, bursting with lush synths and layered harmonies. Every beat carries purpose, yet beneath its bravado lies something deeply human, balancing power with vulnerability.

With lyrics that are tender despite the frustration, the track paints the end of a friendship filled not just with regret but with hope. It captures the ache of watching someone unravel while still believing in their light, carrying an undercurrent of empathy and understanding that sometimes love means wishing someone well from afar.

Taking the higher road, ‘Loving Friend’ and its core message feel deeply human and universally relatable. It carries anger and pain, but it’s a reminder to let things go, to stop carrying the weight of what’s already behind you. People change, paths diverge, and sometimes the kindest thing we can do is move forward with love instead of resentment.

Unbottling all the feels with grit and vulnerability, ‘Loving Friend’ from STAHR is out now.

CALLUM PADGHAM releases uplifting single, ‘EVERYTHING IS A BLESSING’

Alongside spectacular OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO filmed over an entire year

Melbourne-based artist Callum Padgham has unveiled his debut release; the radiant and ultra-catchy pop track titled ‘Everything is a Blessing’. Releasing under his own name for the first time (having built a reputation as ‘DJ Be Kind to Other People’), Callum describes the single as a “celebratory reminder that our biggest challenges can be our greatest teachers.”

First revealing itself when Callum had no intentions of creating original music, ‘Everything is a Blessing’ came to him, almost fully-formed, whilst swimming laps at the local pool;

“I remember feeling the sunshine on my back, endorphins pumping and repeating the chorus hook to myself whilst underwater. In that moment, it felt like my embodied truth. As soon as I returned home, I began fleshing it out on an acoustic guitar and within a few hours I sent an iPhone demo to Tom Evans, an amazing producer and close friend of mine, who loved how clear my vision was. In my head, it sounded like S Club 7 meets Ben Lee at a Himalayan yogi retreat, and through Tom’s craftsmanship plus my guidance and the brilliant work of some dream collaborators, we somehow pulled off exactly that!”  CALLUM PADGHAM

Alongside the audio track, Callum Padgham presents the second element of this stunning project launch; a spectacular official music video for ‘Everything is a Blessing’ set for release on Thursday November 13th. Inspired by the unique single-shot videos of American indie-rock band OK Go, Callum began the process of creating a clip for the song which would be filmed over the course of an entire year.

With the goal to showcase the changing seasons and visually encompass “everything”, a demanding yet extraordinary journey began;

“With the help of some creative mates, I embarked on the toughest logistical challenge of my life: filming a choreographed routine in the same iconic Melbourne park on a perfect Summer’s day, a rainy arvo in winter, a windy day in Autumn and the darkest depths of night!… I’m not gonna lie, locking-down 10 crew-members and 4 cast-members for 4 outdoor shoots, weather-dependent, plus dance rehearsals, over a 9 month period, was no ‘walk in the park’…”  CALLUM PADGHAM

WATCH THE OFFICIAL ‘EVERYTHING IS A BLESSING’ MUSIC VIDEO

Reflecting on the most taxing day of the whole process, and an unexpected reminder that truly summed-up the song’s title, he noted:

“All 14 of us showed up at the park one blustery morning in Autumn to find our exact location completely fenced off and bulldozers tearing up the path! Worse still, our choreographer had flown down from Brisbane specifically for the shoot and half the crew had taken work off months in advance. I was absolutely gutted and felt responsible for ruining the video and wasting everyone’s time. But, how’s this for a silver lining? When the fences eventually came down and we filmed the sequence a month later, Autumn was absolutely peaking and we ended up capturing the best looking sequence of the entire clip! I couldn’t believe our luck.”

CALLUM PADGHAM: From viral punk-rock mashups (600K+ views), to a comedy web series filmed in 7 different countries, to hosting some of the world’s top DJs on his talk show about dance music called Coburg Up Late, Callum’s unique creative journey has seen him perform at Burning Man Festival (USA), Balance Festival (Croatia), as well as supporting the likes of Aussie icons Sneaky Sound System, Flight Facilities and the Rogue Traders.

A project which, between its audio and visual production, has taken “29 talented humans almost 3 years to bring to life,” Callum Padgham’s debut release is a testament to the importance of a positive outlook, and the most authentic introduction imaginable to the man himself.

“I believe in ‘Everything is a Blessing’ – the song and the message – and I’m over-the-moon to finally show the world this special part of who I am.”   CALLUM PADGHAM

TASMANIA/LUTRUWITA-BASED ARTIST OSCAR O’SHEA  SHARES DEBUT EP + SHARES NEW SINGLE

‘CHANGE IN JUNE (FEAT. ABBY WALLACE)

Tasmania/Lutruwita-based artist Oscar O’Shea today releases his stunning debut EP, Last Lights & Lost Meaning, out today everywhere via GYROstream. Today, Oscar also shares focus track and new single ‘Change In June’, featuring fellow Lutruwita-based rising star and recent triple j Unearthed Feature Artist, Abby Wallace. The song is built around experiencing winter in Northern Tasmania, and how it can make one feel stagnant and heavy. It shares two perspectives of a situation, desperation and isolation meeting as common themes. The sound is supported by sharp lead guitar lines and harrowing piano. In its closing passage, the song builds in dynamics and features both voices in unison to create a moment of relief, as if June is turning to July and the weight is beginning to lift.

O’Shea’s songwriting is steeped in small-town nostalgia and poetic realism, calling to mind artists like Noah Kahan, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sam Fender. Last Lights & Lost Meaning weaves these moments into a larger narrative about identity, connection, and the quiet power of honesty. For Oscar, it’s not just a collection of songs, it’s a commitment to choosing music, meaning, and himself.

Speaking on the creation of his debut body of work, Oscar mentions, ‘Last Lights and Lost Meaning shares a collection of songs I have written over the last two years of my life. For me, these songs are snapshots and fleeting glimpses into moments that felt heavy, moments that felt triumphant and moments that left me feeling hollow. They summarise times when I let go of myself, and tried to disconnect from who I am and the people that hold me up and support me. I like to think that the songs carry both a weight and an accompanying reprieve, some moments sink and others shimmer. Dynamically, I love how the collection of songs shows a range and takes the listener through a journey as key themes are found through sonic moments that soar, and then fold inward. These songs are who I am, they are who I have been and it is such a freeing feeling to share them and let them find their place.’

Oscar’s story is one of near surrender and unexpected revival. Just months ago, he was working in a restaurant, quietly preparing to step away from music for good – until fate seated legendary producer John Castle (Vance Joy, Angie McMahon, Paul Kelly) at one of his tables. Oscar, a longtime fan, took a deep breath and introduced himself. That single moment changed everything.

Since then, Oscar has poured himself into recording his debut EP in Castle’s Launceston studio. The process reignited the creative spark that had been dimmed by doubt, leading to a run of songwriting that has produced some of his most vulnerable and affecting work to date.

GRACE CUMMINGS SHARES NEW CHRISTMAS SINGLE  ‘TIMES LIKE THESE’ JOINED BY MY MORNING JACKET’S JIM JAMES

Singer-songwriter Grace Cummings releases ‘Times Like These’ a heartbreaking single for the Holiday season featuring Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Known for her commanding voice and emotionally potent songwriting, Cummings offers a song of comfort, compassion and resilience for those facing loneliness during the holiday season.

“Times Like These is for somebody that needs some comfort and some love,” Cummings explains.

“The Holidays boast joy and happiness and celebration and togetherness but it’s one of the most lonely times I can think of, for many people.

The state of the world leaves me feeling devastated, but maybe a tiny bit of it would be better if I tried to pick myself up and keep going, helped others, told somebody I cared about that I love them, make a small mark that somebody might find some beauty or comfort in.

This year, my friendship with Jim James has helped me to see some beautiful things in the world, and to be grateful for what I have. It is an honour to have him, one of my favourite voices of the past 20 years, singing with me on this song.”

The release follows Cummings’ critically acclaimed third album Ramona (2024), recorded in Topanga Canyon with producer Jonathan Wilson. Hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the Best 100 Albums of 2024, Ramona earned praise for its emotional depth and vocal power, with Uncut noting its “heart-tugging drama” and PAPER describing it as “delicate soundscapes, swirling world-building.”

Following Ramona’s release, Cummings toured extensively across the US, UK and Europe, appearing on Late Night with Stephen Colbert and performing live for KEXP. She also joined My Morning Jacket on their North American theatre tour, joining Jim James nightly for on-stage duets.

‘Times Like These’ continues Cummings’ evolution as an artist unafraid to blend vulnerability with raw strength — a Christmas song not of decoration, but of solace.

CARUS THOMPSON – ACOUSTIC IN GERMANY (ALBUM)

Globe-trotting Australian troubadour Carus Thompson has toured the world alongside The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, Seth Lakeman & Pete Murray, selling over 30,000 albums along the way. He’s won his loyal fan base through 30 years of hitting the road, delivering passionate, energetic, folk-rocking shows that entertain and engage.

He tours Australia this November and December to launch not one, but two new albums! His 9th studio album When Everything Was New and his 3rd live album of original songs Acoustic In Germany.

When Everything Was New was recorded over the past two years in his hometown of Fremantle, Western Australia with long-time friend and fellow West Oz musician Nathan Gaunt. The album is a collection of songs that focus on the human experience: small stories of love, loss and hope. Every song is co-written with Gaunt, and this is Thompson’s most melodic and immediate work to date.

Acoustic In Germany is the third volume in Thompson’s acclaimed Acoustic series. His 2003 release Acoustic At The Norfolk established him as one Australia’s favourite and most authentic singer-songwriters – an unpretentious performer who always gives his all. After almost 25 years of touring Germany, his second home, it felt right to record this edition of the acoustic series there, in a studio run by his record label, with a live audience joining in the vibes amongst the expensive Neuman microphones!

A Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all out rockers, to sdance-floor fillers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd-inclusive energy. His passionate and genuine pub-rock approach sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. It’s always a great vibe.

Come down and be a part of these special double album launch shows and see why he’s long been one of this countries favourite underground acoustic artists.

“A treasure in the Australian musical landscape” The Dwarf, Australia

SANGUISUGABOGG. US Gore Merchants Return To Australia in June 2026 With Special Guests, PEELINGFLESH

Shat out of hell? Indeed. The epically unpronounceable, utterly indecipherable and altogether uncompromising gore merchants, Sanguisugabogg, are returning to Australia in June 2026 with special guests PeelingFlesh.

Having left Australian crowds in bloody heaps on their debut tour in 2024 via their now infamous tradition of playing ‘murderball’, where a football is thrown into the heaving pit with the promise of some free merch for the one maniac who is still standing and holding the ball at the end of the next song, Sanguisugabogg are ready to up the ante this time with their good, friendly, violent fun!

The sonic stench that permeates their latest release, Hideous Aftermath, has become the benchmark for modern death metal. With the torch being passed to them from their heroes in Cannibal Corpse, Mortician and Suffocation, the ’Bogg deliver queasiness-inducing tracks such as Necrosexual Deviant, Face Ripped Off, Skin Cushion and Dragged By A Truck, all of which test the limits of the human body with gurgling abyssal lows and bowel rattling heaviness.

No longer that band of meme-inspiring miscreants, their blasts of sludgy riffing and tongue-severed-from-cheek, gross-out humour are backed up by their devastating musicianship. Sharper, meaner and more lethal than ever, their grotesque gore-obsessed, psycho-sexual, body-horror artistry may seem perverse or fetishistic to some but to the ‘Bogg, it’s perfectly normal.

Adding to the carnage are Oklahoma’s PeelingFlesh, the slamming, gangster-groove juggernaut making their long awaited debut on Aussie soil.

Prepare for nothing less than total sonic dismemberment, a night of horror-drenched depravity and refined carnage that hits like a sledgehammer to the sternum. Together, this bill is a demented double dose of pure, unfiltered brutality.

POWERWOLF on Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle): “We always knew that no words or short recap videos could truly capture what we experienced together during the Wolfsnächte 2024 tour. Every night was its own kind of magic – still, we wanted to find a way to hold on to those memories and share them in the most powerful way possible. That’s why we decided to record the full, massive, sold-out show at the Olympiahalle in Munich – to preserve just a piece of what we all felt on this tour. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than a live release. What began as an unconventional project in 2004 has since evolved into one of the most successful metal phenomena worldwide. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) documents POWERWOLF’s unrelenting rise to the top, showcasing a performance that goes far beyond a metal concert. From a fire-breathing church organ and thunderous pyro spectacles to dark, operetta-like storytelling and rousing crowd interaction, this show is pure heavy metal theater at its finest. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is an absolute must-have for every music lover. It will be available in multiple formats including Blu-Ray, DVD, CD and Vinyl as well as a Deluxe Boxset, Earbook, Mediabook, and several other Collectors Editions, featuring exclusive bonus content.

On Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), each song is visually reimagined with a changing digital stage set, timed effects, and theatrical elements: monks with torches, falling snow on a burning piano, and a fiery execution scene that rivals shock rock’s greatest icons. Classics like “Army Of The Night”, “Amen & Attack”, “Armata Strigoi”, and “Demons Are a Girl’s Best Friend” come alive in larger-than-life arrangements, while emotional highlights like “Alive or Undead” bring the audience to tears. The interplay between frontman Attila Dorn and organist Falk Maria Schlegel turns every moment into an unforgettable ritual.

Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than just a celebration of past triumphs – it marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter in the band’s unstoppable journey. POWERWOLF has long transcended genre boundaries – their shows are cult-like celebrations of metal, emotion, and art. With Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), they once again prove that what they create is beyond music – it is religion.

PERSEFONE Progressive Death Metal Masters Release Spectacular Second Single, “Leap Of Faith”. Live Album, Live In Andorra, With National Orchestra, Out December 5, 2025 via Napalm Records

PERSEFONE’s power shines way beyond the borders of their native Andorra on the second single off their upcoming live album. The new version of “Leap Of Faith”, which was originally released on metanoia in 2022, adds to the progressive edge of the song through the collaboration with the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (National Classical Orchestra of Andorra). The live rendition of the impressive instrumental track was recorded during a spectacular one-off show in their home country’s National Auditorium in May of 2024, resulting in the upcoming live album Live in Andorra, out on December 5, 2025 via Napalm Records. Progressive, yet catchy; heavy, yet full of symphonic emotion—take your leap of faith.

PERSEFONE about “Leap Of Faith”: “If there was one particular song that we really wanted to use as one of the singles, it had to be ‘Leap of Faith’. The fact that it is an instrumental song made some people within the PERSEFONE team raise their eyebrows. But the moment they realized how the orchestra makes this song come alive, it was an easy choice. ‘Leap of Faith’ is a song we knew we would never play live in a regular show due to its particular production, so when we found out we would have an orchestra with us for one night, we just had to play it. Sometimes there’s no need for words to express feelings, and hopefully this song can do that for you.”

Watch the Official Live Video for “Leap Of Faith” https://youtu.be/f_xxjGzTlWw

Progressive death metal masters PERSEFONE let their material shine in a new light on their upcoming live album, Live In Andorra, out December 5, 2025, via Napalm Records. Recorded at a one-off orchestral show in the National Auditorium of their home country Andorra in May 2024, the six-piece band take their already sophisticated sound to even grander heights, celebrating both their 20-year history and their return home after not having performed in Andorra in ten years. In collaboration with the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (National Classical Orchestra of Andorra), the symphonic accompaniment adds immense grandeur to a catalog-spanning set, embellishing their unmatched live energy to triumphant highs. Live In Andorra also offers unique recordings of many beloved songs with new frontman Daniel R. Flys, who joined the band in 2023. Making classic tracks his own and bringing new material to the forefront, he emphasizes the musical force that is PERSEFONE.

On Live in Andorra, PERSEFONE’s musical force shines brightly out from their native Andorra. A perfect example of how symphonic support can blend seamlessly into metal songs and enhance them, this intricate record gifts the already impressive tracks a whole new context. Progressive, yet catchy; heavy, yet full of emotion—goosebumps are guaranteed!

PERSEFONE about Live In Andorra: “It is not everyday that you can celebrate the history of your band with such a unique set of circumstances. Playing at home after so many years, in front of our people, at the National Hall, with the National Orchestra, was something we never imagined would even be a possibility. But when the opportunity appeared, we just couldn’t say no, and we knew we wanted to have this whole experience immortalized for everyone to take part in it. This show is a way of coming full circle, from a crappy rehearsal room and our first shows in clubs, to being able to perform at such an iconic place in our country. Please join us for this special show. Welcome to PERSEFONE. Welcome to Andorra.”

BLOODBOUND Swedish Power Metal Warriors Release Title Track “Field Of Swords” From Upcoming Album. Glorious New Album, Field Of Swords, Out This Friday via Napalm Records

With the release of their triumphant new album, Field Of Swords, closing in, BLOODBOUND has released its opening title track as their powerful third single. “Field Of Swords” immediately storms into BLOODBOUND’s signature sound, braiding stories of glory with a sweeping blend of melodic and heavy power metal—a perfect introduction to the band’s venture into the Middle Ages. The Swedish six-piece hold their own on the forefront of epic modern power metal, standing amidst flames burning tall with this new glorious single.

Recently teaming up with Napalm Records, BLOODBOUND stand taller than ever on epic power metal’s front lines, delivering their most refined work yet. Moving on from the Viking era, the inspiration for their previous record, Tales Of The North, Field Of Swords turns the page to another chapter in history, moving past the year 1066 and into the Middle Ages. As warfare evolves and the technological advancement of forging iron with carbon leads to superior swordsmen, the bloodstained battlefields show new, grim faces, which BLOODBOUND bring to life with their vivid storytelling, notorious for thrilling live audiences globally. The album will be out this Friday, November 21, 2025 via Napalm Records.

Fredrik Bergh about “Field Of Swords”: “The opening track and also the title track of the album. A great, fast, energetic song with killer melodies. A perfect way to start the BLOODBOUND studio album #11!”

Tomas Olsson about “Field Of Swords”: “‘Field of Swords’ is about the evolution in warfare and the significance of forging iron with carbon that led to superior swordsmen.”

Watch The Official Lyric Video For “Field Of Swords” https://youtu.be/9swV-2azONc

BLOODBOUND’s latest triumphant march impressively illustrates the importance of purpose and perseverance with heroic tales in shining heavy metal armor. Valiant, vigorous, and ultimately victorious: Field Of Swords has come to expand BLOODBOUND’s domination of the scene!

Fredrik Bergh on Field Of Swords: “Field Of Swords is a concept album, a continuation from our last album Tales From The North (2023) which touched upon the subject of the Viking era. On Field Of Swords, we have moved on in history and entered the Middle Ages (after 1066). The concept, in short, is the following: When the Viking Age ended in the year of our Lord 1066, came the long and grim Medieval times.

We are extremely excited about the new album and to release it with the backing of the mighty Napalm Records. Music-wise, the new album has a slightly more modern sound, but we can guarantee it includes all the elements BLOODBOUND is known for! It’s a diverse record with aggressive songs, epic tracks, and it also contains some of the fastest parts we have written. And on the other hand, we have some slower, majestic songs as well, like, ‘The Nine Crusades’ where UNLEASH THE ARCHERS’ Brittney Slayes duets with Patrik. Field Of Swords has everything you can ask for!”

THE RASMUS Release New Video ‘Banksy’
Touring Australia in January 2026

The Rasmus have always been a band merging their signature blend of dark atmospheres and anthemic melodies with lyrically relevant songs about the world around them and the misfits they proudly identify with. Today the Finnish record-breaking rockers have shared “Banksy,” the latest single and video from their 11th studio album Weirdo via Better Noise Music. The hard-charging song tips its hat to Banksy, the controversial British street artist and political activist whose stencil graffiti work is found in public spaces.Directed by the band’s bassist Eero Heinonen and filmed at a recent tour stop in Helsinki, Finland at the legendary venue, Tavastia.Watch the video here
https://therasmus.ffm.to/banksy-video

Banksy is one of the bands biggest inspirations, especially his most recent work which has commented on the war in Ukraine as well as environmental issues. “Banksy has been a big favourite of ours for a long time,” says band frontman Lauri Ylönen. “We’ve gone on tour spotting Banksy’s graffiti around the U.K., and I have my own background in graffiti painting. The fans have reacted really well to this song at our shows—it’s a lift-up song in our set. It’s fast and full of energy, which fits the live set extremely well. With seeing the fans’ energy every evening, it gave us the idea that this song deserves a music video. Specifically, a video that shows the audience, the uplifting energy and feel of our live show. This song has became a fan-favourite.”“I wanted to direct a video for us, with an insanely fast visual tempo, so that too much is happening on the screen all the time,” explains Eero Heinonen. “I believe we achieved that. It’s really cool that it includes street graffiti we’ve seen all over Europe, throughout the ‘Weirdo’ tour.”The Rasmus are bringing their unforgettable stage show to Australia for the first time this January!

JULES ANNOUNCES IT’S COMING ON CHRISTMAS EP

Music has always been a thread of connection for many during the holiday season – from the traditional standards, to hymnal classics and the contemporary songs that have created new memories for many fans across the globe, when it comes to Christmas…the songbook has never been stronger.

Sydney songwriter and performer Jules knows this all too well, and has brought her affinity to such a unique collection of music together with a natural talent for storytelling, in the curation of a brand new Christmas EP: It’s Coming On Christmas.

In making this EP, Jules has been able to embark on a special creative project that has not only brought her more knowledge surrounding Christmas standards and musical traditions from different countries, but it has also captivated her own curiosity about the impact of this music on generations of music fans.

The EP, recorded at Church Street Studios in Camperdown with Emmy Award winning producer Sean Carey (Julia Stone, Daniel Johns), captures the essence of the season – one that Jules describes as being beautifully complex in its nature.

“Christmas is filled with complexities. Images of homes, greenery, merriment, and the warmth of fireplaces and hot summers, sit against a backdrop of war, longing, death, and grief. This all occurs as centuries of carols, hymns, and songs provide the soundtrack. It is with this in mind, that I embarked upon curating a Christmas EP.

The music traditions we have drawn from in It’s Coming on Christmas are a tried-and-true mix. German hymns are placed next to the yearning melancholic ballads of wartime Hollywood, and the first iterations of Laurel Canyon truth-telling.” JULES

Featuring songs like ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’, ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’, ‘Silent Night/Night of Silence’ and a cover of Joni Mitchell’s 1971 classic ‘River (It’s Coming On Christmas)’ – the latter of which stands as a special highlight of the record, a song that has been a favourite of artists all over the world when it comes to the Christmas canon.

“What makes ‘River’ resonate with people is how immensely sad it is. Against the Californian sunshine, Joni Mitchell wants a frozen river on which to skate away. In sunlight, she wants a cold winter. Is there anything that could define an artist more? It’s a confessional and very personal song; an oddity at the time. My whole Christmas EP is blue, but this song is the bluest.” JULES

The release of It’s Coming On Christmas marks Jules’ return, her first collection of music since the much-praised 2023 studio album, Familiar Drama. With four records to her name that have charted an impressive and authentic sonic evolution, Jules is a performer who leads from the heart – her brand of songwriting and performing has garnered the love of audiences around the country and internationally.

Establishing her own record label, Lights Record Label, in 2015 gave Jules the power to control her own creative output, redefining her role as the architect of her own journey. Weaving pop, blues and folk influences with honest and open storytelling, Jules’ music represents a great love for the craft of storytelling through music – It’s Coming On Christmas is a fitting addition to the catalogue.

KISSCHASY announce 4th studio album ‘THE TERRORS OF COMFORT’ set for release February 13th, release new single ‘UNCOMFORTABLY NUMB’

Legendary Australian alt-rock 4-piece Kisschasy have today announced their long-awaited 4th studio album, titled ‘The Terrors Of Comfort’ set to be released on February 13th 2026.

Their first full length LP since 2009’s ‘Seizures’ will include recent singles ‘Lie To Me’ & ‘Parasite’, as well as new single ‘Uncomfortably Numb’ which is out as of this morning. 16 years between album releases and the band still feel as relevant as ever on ‘The Terrors Of Comfort’; modern production has elevated the band’s sound to new heights – without losing any of the magic from the first three records that made the band one of Australia’s most beloved rock outfits.

Fittingly, the band describe ‘Uncomfortably Numb’ as the best representation of the forthcoming album thematically – an album that explores the idea of comfort and how it can negatively impact one’s motivations.

“Uncomfortably Numb is the song that best embodies the theme of the new album; the idea

that comfort can be a bad thing. It’s a song about restlessness, about stagnation, about wanting to snap out of that daydream that’s devoid of fear, passion, desire or drive. It’s about wanting to feel something. “ DARREN CORDEUX, KISSCHASY

‘Uncomfortably Numb’ has all the elements of a great Kisschasy song – introspective, honest lyricism; impassioned performances and a punchy, ear-worm chorus that sticks around long after the first listen. The song features dynamic interplay between the verses and choruses, a conscious decision from the band to help reinforce the track’s themes.

“When producing the song we wanted the music to mirror the lyrics; the verses are reminiscent of a lullaby with their waltz-like feel while the choruses detonate into a desperate cry for help, snapping the listener out of that false sense of calm.” DARREN CORDEUX, KISSCHASY

Recorded between Woodstock Studios in Melbourne and Hermon’s Hermit Studio in Los Angeles, ‘Uncomfortably Numb’, along with the rest of ‘Terrors of Comfort’, was produced and engineered by Cordeux along with Richard Stolz on additional engineering duties – with mixing from John O’Mahony (Hole, Coldplay, The Cribs) and mastering from Ian Sechick (Gwen Stefani, Pantera, Jawbreaker). On the album’s title, Cordeux comments that “The title came from an old 70s Museum of Modern Art exhibition called “The Pleasures and Terrors of Domestic Comfort”. I’d rediscovered the catalogue on my bookshelf and thought to myself “that’s the common thread to all these songs”. ‘Lie To Me’, ‘Parasite’, ‘Uncomfortably Numb’, are all about where you end up when you seek comfort above all else.”

Originally emerging from the restless southeastern suburbs of Melbourne in 2002, Kisschasy won over fans across the globe with their melodic brand of alt-rock – inspiring countless Australian bands in the process. With classic singles in their catalogue such as ‘Do-Do’s & Woah-Ohs’, ‘Opinions Won’t Keep You Warm At Night’, ‘Dinosaur’ and many more, Kisschasy have created a dedicated following that grows hungrier with every release.

They’ve had two gold-selling albums in their time selling in excess of 90,000 records; over 50 million + total streams across their discography; have had 3x ARIA award nominations; and even recently hit number #1 on the ARIA Aus Albums & Vinyl Charts through a reissue of their 2007 classic record ‘Hymns For The Nonbeliever’ – a release that was supported by a national tour that saw the band play some of their biggest headline shows to date.

Looking forward, the band have recently been announced as a support on Good Charlotte’s upcoming Australian tour along with Yellowcard, set to hit stages across the country in February 2026.

Sydney pop power-duo FOLEY turn sour subjects sweet on newest release, ‘HONEY’

Sydney pop power-duo Foley have unveiled their shimmery new single, ‘Honey’. Following the release of their phenomenal second album That’s Life Baby! earlier this year — as well as recent single ‘Suckerpunch’ — ‘Honey’ sees the pair explore the moments where you know you’ve pushed a little too hard in an argument, bringing their brand of syrupy-sweet musical goodness to the matter;

“Honey is about taking it too far and realising you might have pushed your luck – we all have moments in a relationship where you make your point a little TOO WELL and realise you played too rough. In the right relationship those moments aren’t make or break; instead they are the times you see compassion and understanding in a partner who is willing to have your back and stick with you.”  FOLEY

Ultimately a love song, and an ode to the right person who sticks it out through the sweet and sour alike, ‘Honey’ captures the tougher parts of a relationship with endless grace and charm;

“The line ‘Whenever I spill my guts you stitch me up, honey’ sums it all up – they’re there to put the pieces back together for you because they know your true heart.”  FOLEY

The OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO for the track was filmed in South Korea, during the band’s recent trip there for a run of shows. With stunning scenes of Seoul city, and striking split timelapses which draw the viewer into Foley’s own little world– this visualiser is the perfect amplifier to the charm of ‘Honey’.

Bringing on an unbelievably world-class line-up of collaborators for the track’s production, ‘Honey’ saw Foley working with Pedro Calloni (Chappell Roan, ELIO, Alex Warren, Daniel Seavey, GAYLE) on mixing, as well as Grammy-nominated audio engineer Nathan Dantzler (Sabrina Carpenter, sombr, Niall Horan, Jonas Brothers, Teddy Swims) on the mastering side. Speaking to ‘Honey’s production journey, as well as the experience of working with friends and cowriters Max Jacobs and Nico Scali, Foley’s Ash & Gabe said:

“We wrote this one with our new friends Max and Nico from a band called Loretta. We all clicked straight away and had so many laughs, it made for a really energetic session. Those magic guitar chords that carry the song were brought to the session by Max and having a new guitarist in the room helped us to get into a different headspace. We wanted to write something with the acoustic guitar front and centre that could bring a bit of a bluesy tone – and the chorus really dabbles with that in the guitar and vocal stacks.”  FOLEY
