After a weekend of feverish speculation sparked by mysterious murals and lighting projections featuring the logos of System Of A Down and Faith No More across Australia’s east coast, one of the country’s worst-kept touring secrets has finally been confirmed.
GRAMMY Award-winning heavyweights System Of A Down will return to Australia for their first headline tour in more than a decade, joined by the legendary Faith No More for three massive stadium shows in January and February 2027.
The tour kicks off at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on January 22 before heading to Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on January 27 and wrapping up at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on February 1. The announcement follows System Of A Down’s hugely successful European and UK summer stadium tour, which included back-to-back sell-outs in Paris, London and Warsaw.
Few bands have left a mark on heavy music quite like System Of A Down. Since bursting onto the international scene with their self-titled debut album in 1998, Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan have built a catalogue that continues to resonate with rock and metal fans worldwide. With more than 42 million albums sold and landmark releases such as Toxicity, the band has earned a reputation for explosive live performances that combine technical brilliance with raw intensity. Australian audiences can expect a career-spanning set packed with classics that have become staples of modern heavy music.
Joining them are fellow innovators Faith No More, whose fearless blend of alternative rock, metal, funk, punk and experimental sounds helped redefine heavy music throughout the late ’80s and ’90s. Fronted by the ever-charismatic Mike Patton, the band remains one of rock’s most influential acts, with enduring tracks including Epic, Midlife Crisis and Easy continuing to inspire generations of musicians.
Together, the two iconic bands promise one of the biggest rock events Australia has seen in years, bringing decades of influential music to three stadium stages.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 31, with sales beginning at 10am AEST (Sydney), 11am (Melbourne) and 12pm (Brisbane). An Artist Presale opens on July 28 for subscribers to the System Of A Down and Faith No More mailing lists, followed by the PayPal First Access Presale on July 29.
