The Lansdowne Hotel this June are set to celebrate their 100th year of trade, and Good Intent have programmed a month-long celebration of live music in the Chippendale landmark.
The venue’s 100 Year Celebrations across June will see them host (A-Z) Battlesnake, Bronte Alva, Cosmic Psychos, Creeping Jenny, EGOISM, FANGZ, Front End Loader, Fungas, Iron Mind, Lemonise, PEPTALK, Porcelain Boy, Straight Arrows, The Velvet Club and Total Giovanni, plus Motorik Vibe Council will be hosting ‘The Late Show with Motorik!’ every Friday night from 11PM-very late.
“The Lansdowne Hotel is as iconic, if not more-so than the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House combined, in my opinion. The unwavering passion of venue owners, promoters, artists, managers and bookers in Eora/Sydney over the past few years has been undeniable (f*ck yeah), and we’re keen to reveal a month-long celebration of programming across the musical spectrum, flowing between a range of genres and deep into the night!” says Venue Booker Rick Bridgman.
The kitchen will be firing up 1 kilo of extra hot peri-peri wings for $10 and celebrations will be well and truly flowing with Inner-West favs Young Henrys on board supporting the month-long rager, providing a special gift to the first people through the doors to gigs upstairs on these June eve’s.
The month-long party will host showcase events from Psyched As., USFEST PRESENTS: NeX GEn, Beat Kitchen Records, Elevate (Ben Pierpoint Managment), Variance, and much more to be announced.
Rick Bridgman continues on the state of the live music industry: “Venues all over the country are doing it tough, with higher than even running costs and many closing their doors. We need punters help us to keep grassroots venues alive, as many venues, like us, are putting on live entertainment 3-4 nights a week – and a selection of these are free entry events. Our venue was a stepping stone for the careers of Billie Eilish, Lime Cordiale, Royel Otis – for many, you’ll play your first gig here. Get out there, make new memories and mates and you might discover your next favourite act along the way – if it’s at The Lansdowne, that’s even better.”
The team at Good Intent are the current Venue Booker for The Lansdowne Hotel and over the past year at the helm they’ve brought Fontaines D.C. and IDLES through for kick-on DJ sets, hosted Spacey Jane, Miss Kaninna, Odette, Private Function, Yabun Afterparty, Keli Holiday, The Preatures, SXSW Sydney, Phoebe Go, Ocean Sleeper, POSSESHOT, Hockey Dad, Aleksiah and Tash Sultana (DJ Set) to name but a few.
Good Intent also book The Troc in Enmore, and as a wider music company offer a range of services across artist management, press, marketing and label services, and run a photography / videography studio Good Loco out of their Bulanaming/Marrickville-based office.
