VIOLENT SOHO SHOW US THEIR BITS

Guitarist James Tidswell deep in focus

Brisbane grunge-rockers Violent Soho wrapped up their national tour on the weekend in Melbourne. With The Smith Street Band and Luca Brasi, two current ‘buzz’ bands supporting them, audiences were always going to be in for a hell of a rockin’ night. Sydney fans got a little too excited one night when singer Luke Boerdam jumped into the crowd, only to have his belt pack receiver removed and not returned. In most cities, the fun didn’t end with the gig as the band headed to other clubs to perform DJ sets. Violent Soho have been doing the hard years since 2004, however with the release of their third album Hungry Ghost in 2013, shit began to get serious.¬† Triple J jumped onboard, flogging their energetic single Covered in Chrome, a song which was recently immortalised ‘Like A Version’ style by Northeast Party House. Violent Soho take their music to the world soon when Hungry Ghost¬† is released in North and South America on September 30. The Violent Soho guys were kind enough to take a few tour rehearsal snaps for Australian Musician to show us the gear behind their massive sound.
